"Character quote."
Charity stands at average height, with a frame on the skinnier side. Her hair is unnaturally blonde though her black roots are starting to come through as she has not reapplied dye in months. Her fashion sense leans towards the cleaner, brighter and more colorful side of hipster. She is a fan of pastel sweaters, blouses and cardigans, with flared jeans or a knee-length skirt. Around her neck at all times is a 22k gold crucifix necklace.
Charity was born and raised by a millionaire televangelist father and his devoutly religious wife. Growing up in a mansion being being educated exlusively by private tutors, Charity wanted for nothing. She took her religious education to heart and though she was spoiled rotten as a child, she became avery socially consccious teenager. Her dreams for the future were to be a journalist and philanthropist. She believed she could change the world for the better.
Her parents doted on her, so her shift away from fancy designer brands and towards sustainable and ethical independant clothing brands was accepted without any resistance. She was a smart overacheiver who aced every exam and was an incredibly gifted violinist for her age. By the time she was sixteen, Charity already had a trophy case in the hallway outside her room, filled with trophies she'd wonfor her talents.
When the dreams of bonfires began, Charity thought nothing of them. They were cozy. Sometimes she was alone, sometimes with friends, sometimes with family. Sometimes shewas making smores, sometimes just staring into the embers. Nothing seemed amiss aboutthe dreams other than that they were reoccuring and vivid. She didn't think them noteworthy enough to mention to anyone. But after she started having these dreams, she never felt settled. There was something wrong with her life, the way she was living. It was as if her soul was screaming that she was living the wrong life.
As this unease grew stronger in Charity's heart, she became increasingly distracted and withdrawn. Her grades suffered and she lost a violin competition. Her parents only now started to show concern and disappointment in her, for the first time in her life. They tried to force smiles but theywent silent when she walked in the room. They tried to talk with her about what was wrong. Charity couldn't give asatisfying answer. She didn't know.
Everything changed one evening when they were starled by the sound of Charity screaming in her room. They rushedto her and were shocked to find her smoking. Charity was scared and confused by the pain and smoke and tried to chokeout pleas for help. Her parents were not confused. They quickly realised that their daughter was a primalist.
Her mother slapped her. She started screaming that Charity was now a sinner, and a servant of the devil. Her father didn't help. She looked away as if Charity had stopped existing in that very moment. The next few weeks were a numb blur. She vaguely remembered a visit from an exorcist. She was vaguely aware that she was grounded but couldn't have left her room even if she wasn't. She was in shock. Her reality was shattered. It only started to sink in when she was in the taxi driving to the Merriweather Insitute. Her parents had abandoned her.
Charity is currently shaken and unsure of her place in the world. There are broken pieces of a driven, headstrong, warm and kind girl in her psyche that need nurturing, trust and healing to reform.
A B I L I T I E S / S K I L L S:
Charity's pimal poweris the ability to conjure smoke from her body and manipulate it. This also has the side effect of heating up her smoking skin. Though this process causes her pain, it does not damage the skin.
