My Very Brief Bio

Male, 31 years old. (So I'm practically dead, as we speak.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

@Dark Cloud Never played the first two. Aside from the one on 3DS, which was akin to a (pretty boring and bog-standard) single player mmorpg. So probably not?

And I don't know anyone else whose played'em either. So I'm afraid I wouldn't know their quality (or lack thereof).

Based on the first few hours of exploration/first impressions; Tunic is great & 100% knows how to create rewarding exploration. And I've yet to have any of the same problems that I've seen mentioned by other (less charitable) reviews.

But I'm sure that the latter boss fights are going to be hell difficult.

Though I do think the controls take some getting used to. (But part of "getting" the controls, is intentional to Tunic's design. So I think that the game has been perfectly fair in its challenge thus far.)

I don't blame you. I'm redownloading it. But you probably won't see me playing it, until the weekend is past. So hopefully you'll manage to not grow bored of it by then. :P

Going to a friend's wedding in a week & another friend just had a child. So this month has plenty to celebrate. (And I'll be visiting my sisters in early August.) So, fingers crossed that the good news keeps on coming...

@Dark Cloud You underestimate how underwhelmed I was playing Rise. :P

I'd also probably be starting back at square one content-wise. So I'd be little help in terms of doing missions either.

My friend made the same mistake buying Diablo 3 again, to force me to play it with him. And just a few sessions of that, reminded me how mind-numbing the gameplay was. (Especially when he plays the overpowered class on autopilot, and like always, I get shafted by the loot drops always going against me. Swear most console games have an obsession with screwing over the player holding the first controller.)

@Dark Cloud I'd have to redownload Rise (and get Sunbreak, if its not free DLC.) So that's its own ask. XD

But it sounded like you enjoyed MHGU?

Though I hope you'll enjoy the experience (of Hollow Knight). As there will be times that frustrate you. But there will almost always be another path/option available to you. More so than any other game I've played in recent memory.

So, have fun getting lost and keep at it.

I've been so focused on watching other media and social life stuff, that I haven't played much lately. But, I have Tunic installed and ready to go. So I hope its gimmick/mystery gives me a similar feeling of rewarding exploration/discovery. Whenever I'm in the mood to play it.
