Blizzard Entertainment supports the tyrannical government of China. Blizzard Entertainment ends the careers of those who dare dissent against their chinese overlords. And they're not the only ones...

In other news, Republicans in Oregon have laid siege to the state capital, shutting down the democratic process. They have the support of right-wing militia groups who have shot at police before.

Bio

I've been on and off this website for six years now. Right now I've only barely got time for one RP, and even then I mess that up. Trying to be more consistent and online more often, because I really do enjoy online roleplaying. Hopefully, one day I'll be able to write as much as I used too. Until then, I shall brood gloomily in the shadows.

Life goes on! Hobbies change and so do schedules. I hate ghosts, so I'm trying to put myself to rest as best I can with a status and bio officially marking my departure. If I'm going to do any writing, it's going to be working on that book I always wanted to finish.

Ok, well, great! If people don't think it's a terrible idea, that's good enough for me. Here's the OOC:

Maybe you should have tried to say in prison. It's too late now, though. You're D-CLASS. For whatever reason, you decided prison or death row just wasn't for you, and signed up for "Special Opportunities" if the need arised for people to do dangerous work in exchange for some kind of...reward. For weeks, nothing. Then, an email from this nameless organization. Before you knew it, you woke up in a different, cleaner, sleeker cell with a brand new orange jumpsuit. Thirty days until freedom. It didn't sound that bad, did it? One month?

Well, thirty days is an eternity if you're spending it in Hell.

Rules and Overview

In this roleplay, you will be playing one and a half a characters. Your first and main character will be a member of D-CLASS Personnel in a secret, underground laboratory. The organization controlling it is nameless, but around the building are the letters SCP. SCP stands for Special Containment Procedures, and has come to be short hand for the entire organization. The closest thing the SCP foundattion has to an official name is their mysterious symbol found on the uniforms of security personnel and researchers.

As a D-CLASS Personnel, your character is somewhat expendable. They are the guinea pigs, the rats, the canary in the coal mine. The anomalous entities are also nameless, but the idendification of their Special Containment Procedures has become shorthand for their name. Yes, this building is full of anomalous and paranormal entities kept captive and experimented upon, and it's D-CLASS's job to walk up and poke them with a stick. It's as dangerous as it sounds. Character death is likely. You will be able to make other main characters if they die.

You can PM me if you're interested in having your character die for dramatic purposes. Otherwise, I'll PM you if at this point it would be likely for a character to get killed at this point. Mostly, death will be under your control but I'd like to cycle in some new characters at some point to keep things fresh and we can all see how the survivors react.

The character sheets are purposefully sparse. You can fill out their personality through your writing, and SCP couldn't care less about where they came from. It doesn't matter now, anyway. Plus, I don't want you to work very hard on a character, and then they get thrown into a situation where their survival is less-than-likely. Your character will frequently work along side other characters, so if you want to throw them under the bus, you can, but it will be contested, and bring it up with the other person OOC first. Betrayal is dramatic IC, but rude OOC.

In order to maintain at least one, guaranteed character, you will also be playing as an infiltrator, observing the stories of these D-CLASS personnel through unknown means. These infiltrators are known as the Global Hacktivist Movement for Human Rights in Secret Organizations, or GHMHRSO for short. Not a terribly catchy name, but it's pronounced "Girmso" and is often written that way in chat rooms. As a Girmso activist, they will have an outsiders perspective on one particular set of documents- the D-CLASS files. It's all they got right now, and while they want more, they'll have to make do with what they have. They see the schedules of D-CLASS, occasional pyschiatric reports done by the staff they don't know the name of, and frequently vanish after their dossier states they will be going into SCP number whatever the next day. They can only guess what happens to them in these mysterious rooms, but if the next update to their dossier is [KIA] than they can make quite an educated one.

D-CLASS's goal? Survive 30 days.

Girmso's goal? Hope and pray for these poor bastards that they make it out, and try to take down this so-called 'SCP' foundation.

The nameless organizations goal? Secret.

GHMHRSO ACTIVIST

Your Girmso activist will write only in the chatroom. At the end of your post, you can choose if they participate in the chatroom or not. All other Girmso's, controlled by other players, will be able to interact. Your Girmso will know what the D-CLASS said, what they did, if they do not know what happens beyond testing chamber doors. If a D-CLASS begins to go into too much detail about what happened in the chamber, Girmso will find that the text ends with [LEVEL 2 ACCESS REQUIRED]. Your D-CLASS character will still be able to say whatever they want, however. It does not effect the RP at all, save for Girmso's knowledge.

RECAP

*D-CLASS personnel under go tests for thirty days. You control a D-CLASS trying to survive.

*Girmso watches on in horror. They will have their own pseudo-narrative.

*Particpate in Girmso chatrooms at the end of your post if you want. Just seperate your D-CLASS writing and your Girmso writing with a little --- or something.

*Time limit to post is one week. One, good post, every week is the minimum. Exceptions can be made for collabs. You can post tiny posts if you want, as well. If you need to quit, that's fine, but like always don't leave us hanging.

*There are no turns, except in combat. I will handle the turns in combat. We can either do turns, or do it in a collab with everyone interacting at once in a dangerous situation. That would be very exciting and I'd like to get that organized. Expect pirate pad, or google docs, or something. Remember, the advantage of collabs is that it's impossible to fall behind, because you can insert yourself whenever or wherever you want. That's what makes it fun!

*Discord! Join if you want, we can talk easier there. Important stuff will be posted in the OOC here as well, but what about the less importance stuff? Don't you want to know that, too? discord.gg/rwkypxg

Okay, that's it. Once we get around five people, I'll start it up. If we get more than that, great, if we don't, we'll manage. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this! If you have any questions, please ask them.
@King Cosmos Yeah, there won't be any retrieval missions. I'm not a master of SCP lore and retrieval missions are kept purposefully vague.

But, retrieving SCP's is one thing. Finding out what they do is the job of our beloved D-CLASS.

You don't really need to read any of the SCP's, I'll draw from existing ones that will be fun to play. Since there is no real canon, it doesn't really matter.

The hacker thing is just to give players a permanent character so they don't feel like they lose everything if their character dies. Even though I think PC death is pretty cool I figured it might become frustrating if it happens and they have to start from Square One.
If you've never read SCP before, I highly recommend it.

scp-wiki.net/about-the-scp-foundation

You don't have to at all to join this RP, I just recommend doing so to benefit your life, because a lot of the stuff on there is pretty good, especially Series 1.

The SCP Foundation is a global, very powerful, officially recognized but highly secretive organization dedicated to the Securing of anomalous objects, the Containing of said anomalies, and the Protection of mankind. Thus, SCP. SCP also stands for Special Containment Procedures.

SCP's can range from strange objects, to lethal monsters or viruses. Anything that can be described as defying the natural laws of nature are often obtained by the SCP foundation and stored in various facilities around the globe. The problem is, somebody has to test on these anomalies. It can be very, very dangerous.

That's where D-CLASS come in. Often death row prisoners, desperate life-prisoners, or people in such an unfortunate spot of trouble that they have no other choice but to sign up to a mysterious program with the promise of release from their situations, D-CLASS prisoners are front-and-center in the testing of anomalies materials and entities.

In this RP, the players will be controlling one D-CLASS member trying to make it out of these dangerous tests alive, while doing what they are instructed by SCP personnel. PC death is likely, and there may be some PvP elements involved if things get very bad. It will be very spooky for our poor D-CLASS people. It is possible for D-CLASS member to survive until the end of their service. I'd prepare a secondary one just in case. The good news is my CS is very short. Your character's personality should come out over the course of the RP.

The players also have the option of controlling a group of digital insurgents, quietly monitoring what they can of a breach in SCP security. The breach just happens to be that of the dossier of D-CLASS personnel. These hackers communicate to each other via an anonymous secret chatroom. This way you'll have at least one permanent character, even if they are only represented by a mysterious username. They can discuss things currently going on the D-CLASS's life, except the exact things that happen in the SCP rooms because that is currently protected.

So, what do you think? Would you be interested? Unless you're too distracted reading through 3500 SCP articles.
Bok blinked a few times and realized he had been staring at a bird for about two minutes.

"Oops."

He turned to look at Taurl and Tovo and the girl he'd already forgotten the name of.

"Sorry for bein'...uh, busy. Very busy, very important thinkin' stuff," he lied. "But I'm really ready to go. Ready to smash. Speed in, speed out, like ya said."
sorry sorry sorry

don't wait up
"Yep. I'm tired of waitin' around, let's get on with it!" Bok was eager to bash some blokes bloody. He continued to follow the de facto leader of the raid now they had permission from the chief.
