People like to nudge aside the fact that there's a level of commitment to hosting, and joining an RP. The majority of players don't have it in either case, regardless of how interesting an idea is.

I've been gone so long that I forgot what the status bar was like. It's like coming back to an old apartment, except it's not an apartment anymore, it's just two walls and a lot of heroine addicts.

The status bar serves one of three purposes. You can be pretentious, you can tell people about your personal problems, or you can be a smartass.

Bruce's wall didn't seem to budge as the semi-silent display stood without any followup. Zelraka knelt down and pressed his hands firmly against the platform beneath him. Then it happened. Zios' body suddenly went slack as something brushed by one of his arms. An overbearing pressure weighed him down against the ground, and in the same moment, Zelraka's body came crashing through the wall that Bruce had conjured. He has launched himself through it, arriving just above Zios with his own body spinning counter clockwise. With the momentum of his movement, and the timing of his attack, there may have been a chance to get in and free Zios from the impending pain. But his right fist was glowing in that moment, and the four orbs around the arena began to crackle slightly as well. As Jeff's shots went through them, they didn't budge or react in the slightest. But the more immediate threat, as the imminent impact of the monstrous fusion's fist, headed straight for Zios' chest from above.
@Strange If you're looking for active writers, especially people willing to post more than once a day, you're going to have a hard time finding any group RPs. If you're looking for a semi-active group, I am hosting a mid-low fantasy gig and my current crew at least posts semi-daily. I'm also open for 1x1's assuming a concept grabs my attention, but I stray far away from slice of life. Just pm me if you have any ideas.

Otherwise, check 1x1's for fast partners. I only know a few, and I've more or less abducted them for all my stuff recently.
Welcome welcome. If you've done DnD, role playing really isn't all that different. There's just a lot less uh... Chance. What genres are you looking for, anyways?

"...The blame for what has come to pass cannot be placed with a mindless creature of the wilds. All people must reap what they sow, if we as a whole are to make changes for the better. We cannot avoid the monsters hiding within our own flawed morals, we can only fight to the last and hope for a brighter tomorrow..."
~ His highness King Ralphus XII, 1238, 'Ralphus' official inauguration speech' ~

Thoris is a sprawling world of magnificence and wonder. It is absolutely brimming with life and magical energies that transcend mortal understanding, occasionally dipping into realms of divine power where the god watch over their worshipers with eager eyes. In these lands, the forces of nature once lived in tandem with one another. Locked in a tranquil cycle of life and death, the world's creatures took only what they needed to survive while birthing generation after generation of offspring. There was a sense of order buried within the chaotic struggle for survival that persisted day after day. But just as fate's cruel hands always predict, this balance would not stand in the wake of mortal desire.

Intelligence arose over time as the threat of evolution took hold of all that maintained balance in the world. Its grasp sought only to conquer and control everything from the trees to the sun's light. With the rise of more sentient races, the nature of magic began to evolve as well. It morphed to adapt to the life that took control, changing from an energy that maintained balance, into something more sinister which served only to tip and tussle nature to the whims of the selfish. It had begun then, the series of vicious crimes against life itself, which brought endless turmoil to the innocent creatures of Thoris.

Civilizations have risen and fallen since the dawn of man, acting as tides against the natural elements while leaving only weathered stone in their wake. The ruins of old have since returned to nature, disregarded in lieu of more practical modern practices. Despite this radical abandonment, the generations have brought unusually rapid advancements in the understanding and application of magical energies. Intelligent races have risen to levels of power that consistently stand toe-to-toe with the natural forces around them. It has come to the point where the dominant races of Thoris are able to live without fear of nature's wrath, allowing them to advance their nations peacefully, unlike their predecessors that have fallen so miserably in the past. Because of this, the current era is often considered by historians to be an era of rebirth and power. History before this golden fourth era is however, fragmented and jarred. There really is no telling how the prior eras had come to an end, or how much time had passed between them. Nobody bothers to question it, given the immense power that modern magic has been able to awaken.

The current year is 1252-4E, marking the longest recorded era of advancement in known history. The kingdoms of Thoris have come to an accord, following the second great war, to maintain peace and guide all intelligent species in the right direction. But with so many different cultures, a clash of morals will remain unavoidable. Even now, particular superpowers struggle to stay relevant in the ongoing zeitgeist of magical and national advancement. Every nation holds a voice at the continental counsel, wherein all leaders and political figures have a chance to voice their concerns. But their demands and worries are not treated as equal. The unrest within certain political bodies continues to grow as the global union restricts certain actions and perpetuated the growth of larger nations over smaller settlements. None are sure of what each kingdom plans beneath the veil of diplomacy. But with time it might become clear that peace cannot exist with certain elements maintaining a persistent role.

"...I fear the day when god will finally see through our feigned piety, and banish the paladin order from its overpowering throne atop the world..."
~ Head General and 4th Father of Arcadia's Paladin order Exodar Ramsey, 1245-4E, 'Our crusade against Smor'Gen'Blok' ~

Zelraka scoffed and moved towards one of the larger pieces of debris. He looked to Bruce, then to Zios, then scoped the area for Jeff again, spotting all three in situations of confusion, pain, and worry. A smile came across his face and he reeled both hands back. The homing orbs from earlier had all disappeared, but his atomic ordinance, whatever it was, remained stationary at each end of the open area. The tower was getting above the cloud line now, but the air was still perfectly breathable. It seemed the outer wall of the tower's dimension was still holding fast, keeping them unaffected by the conditions of their surroundings.

"Well, whatever." Globes of energy began to pulsate from both of Zelraka's fists, and the glow disappeared. "Soul fist" Zelraka began to punch rapidly as the air in front of him, hitting nothing and creating no visible effects with his flurry of blows. By the time he was finished, it seemed like he was just joking around. But in reality, very slow-moving, invisible waves of energy were now making their way through the battlefield, from one edge of the room, to the other.
Zelraka barely caught him with his eyes as he zoomed past, but didn't react immediately. The lime-green energy dispersed as quickly as it had appeared, revealing that the technique itself was very short-lived. But there was no telling what Zelraka's upper limits were just yet. Who knew what else he could do? Destroying the tower was not beyond Rajaka's power, but levitating the entire tower like this? Neither he or Zelriane had demonstrated any measure of telekinetic ability. Zelraka's eye glimmered as Jeff launched his next attack, and a cloud of smoke encompassed his lower half as it made contact. But as the smoke cleared, the same lime aura covered the backs of his legs, revealing them to be undamaged. He turned to face the group and chuckled lightly to himself. But his smile faded slightly as his homing orbs from earlier began to disappear and lose their homing properties. He looked down as his chest and tapped where Zios had made contact with him for a moment, dispelling the negative effects it had on his person. "Oh man. That really is a scary technique you've got there. Probably should have saved it for a better opportunity, son." Zelraka's eyes looked across the room carefully, spotting Jeff's energy signal hidden within the wind, and reaffirming his sights on both Zios and Bruce. His eyes glimmered brightly and he smiled again. "A classic with a twist sound like fun? Sounds like fun to me." Zelraka rose one arm and used his other arm to grab his bicep, focusing a great deal of energy.

"Atomic Ordinance"

This time the charge wasn't long at all.

Zelraka flared his raised fist open and released four small orbs of harmless green light that slowly floated to the north, south, east and west ends of the battlefield. "Hm? Is that all?" He grunted, watching his orbs with feigned impatience.

Dannisus watched as the group slowly made their way towards the ruins, lagging only slightly behind his arrival. All seemed well. Well enough, anyways. They were just evicted from a city by an army of undead, 'the resurgence', and were stumbling towards the unknown without a single clue to keep them from taking a step towards their own deaths. He'd been struggling with his own actions profusely while watching the witch-like little girl. Even now, as he waited patiently for any opportunities that benefited his research safely, he'd second guessed his decision to even come this far.

Wham.

Oh dear. Corc had gone and busted his way into the ruins while Dannisus had he head turned. The Myti looked down, expecting to see an explosion of magic follow the orc's decision, but was surprised to see... Nothing. The foundation of his perch began to rumble with the ground, and he grasped the foothold with all four of his limbs tightly. What the hell just happened?
