Current @SaltSight Game was Astlibra: Revision. Found it on sale bundled with another game I've been wanting so I gave it a shot and got like, straight indie JRPG of the early 2000s injected into my veins.

And, my CS do be complete! I wasn't sure if the weapon was okay or not, so please let me know if anything needs changing.

Liliana

[@Breakthrough Crew]
In spite of making her way through the rain as fast as she could, Liliana didn't get to the manor before there was already a huge crowd of Varjan soldiers at the entrance. Judging from the smoke, either someone was having a barbeque inside the building, or someone had just set it on fire...

But, either way, Liliana had a feeling she didn't want to go in just yet, nor should she. After all, in tight quarters, all these Varjans might overwhelm her friends, and make escaping impossible. It wasn't a glamorous, knightly kind of job, and the rain was cold and sucked, but Liliana had a feeling her fight was out here with these mooks. And, while normally she knew a proper knight fought his enemies head on, well...

She was getting bored of these dullard dummies and their tincan armor. And had no respect for people who were so cruel to prisoners. So, as such, she would just quietly whisper: "Whimsy, Blast 'em!" and pointed her sword at the crowd, more than willing to let Whimsy do as she pleased when it came to dishing out magical punishment. Which, the world tree splinter gladly used the opportunity to smolder at her tip, before a small tide of magma erupted, causing steam to billow around Liliana as it surged forward, slamming into the Varjan soldiers. While it didn't last long, the magical magma would not only not wound the Varjan shield line, but would even harden around them in the deluge of rain.

Now with the shield line thoroughly stuck from the waist down, Liliana would brandish her sword along the broad-side, and whacking Varjan soldiers across the back of their helmets as she dashed along them. "Wakey wakey, Varjans! Its time for you to get your ears cleaned out!" she taunted, sticking her tongue out and getting ready to face down the partially immobilized shield line with Whimsy at her side.

She just hoped that her friends were alright...though, judging from the krackaboom sound of lightning, she had to assume Io was just fine with the others.

Eula

Eula didn't know much of Sorae's reputation, but did at least have enough trust in her to not execute a hostage needlessly. "Please relax. I won't allow you to come to harm prematurely," Eula said, gently letting their freshly captured noblewoman on her feet, while standing by to allow Sorae to conduct her interrogation. "We are not barbarians like the Varjans are. We simply seek information."

Eula held a hand on the ropes, more as a measure against her running away than in a bid to keep her confined. "We are searching for the killers of Clan Tokinomiya. Do you have any information about such persons, or an idea as to where we could find information?"
Room for another?

Liliana

[@Breakthrough Crew]
With her attack successfully landing and Liliana’s pride swelled to bursting, the tiny fairy couldn’t look smugger as she floated over the rafters, rubbing her index finger under the bottom of her nose, before almost getting blown away by one of her new minotaur friend’s swings, an entire bed getting thrown against someone from the slash. It was high time she got the heck out of there, seeing as this entire little squabble had turned out pretty pointless, if not a little refreshing.

Liliana wanted to say goodbye to her Minotaur friend but, in all likelihood, the spell would wear out soon and whisk him back to…wherever these cows came from to begin with. Maybe home? Hopefully home. Plus, she imagined he’d be a little miffed at her for magicking him away from his exciting life of presumably very manly, beefcake-oriented activities. Like, punching meteors, or something. He looked strong enough to do that. Her attention was snapped outside the barracks though as she heard a strange chanting…na-krantz, or something. Liliana knew that didn’t sound like any of her teammates, so that must mean they were caught in a brawl with some of the Varjan mages they were warned about.

The fairy knight didn’t have much time to think it over, and decided to dash out, engaging her human size to not get immediately shot to the ground in the rain as she flew. ”Hold on everyone…I’m on my way!” she thought, gliding as fast as she could over to the manor.

The battle grew quiet as the minotaur was left standing amidst a pile of corpses, shattered weapons, destroyed furniture, and walls on the verge of collapse. His rage was dying down, enough to regain his senses, and feel the slight tingle of the many minor cuts he’d received from his tensed up muscles being hit by the Varjan’s steel. Cracking his neck, the minotaur would look out the door just in time to see Liliana fleeing, while his own body started to glimmer and grow transparent.

’Guess this was temporary, then. …Hope that wherever this is, that they can beat these guys back once and for all,” he said, sitting down while he disappeared, taking his helmet off just enough to exhale steam from his nose. In just a moment, he’d be back home…wherever his home had become.

Eula

Sorae was quick to demonstrate her prowess as a warrior, somehow able to dodge the attacks of the Varjan warriors in her strange, but effective, crane-legged fighting stance. Perhaps she was simply dodging so minutely that she appeared to not be moving? It was a powerful technique to be sure, one that Eula couldn’t understand in the slightest.

But, their quarry was quickly escaping from the scene, even with her arms completely bound. Eula would speed after her, already far-outstripping the average warrior in speed, let alone a woman without much combat experience or physical training. In the blink of an eye Eula would be upon the woman, grabbing her by her bound arms and gently lifting her up. Now in the automaton’s grasp, the woman would find that Eula was surprisingly gentle, making every effort to keep the woman from injuring herself, or being injured by Eula’s grip. ”Subject secured, Sorae,” Eula said, raising a hand and shooting a stun bolt at one of the remaining Varjans to ease the fight up on Sorae.
Vivian

@AzureKnight(VRA), @Rezod92
Vivian was quickly knocked back from Kazenosuke's skillful deflection, and reminded of how it felt to truly compete against a master of their craft. Kazenosuke humbled himself, as he was dancing with his sword as his partner. Compared to the three of them flailing desperately just to land a hit, this was...embarassing. A one-sided affair. As such, Vivian would take it upon herself to correct it. A dance wasn't only conducted with the legs...it needed the entire body in harmony.

Gliding past Kazenosuke, right to Vară, Vivian would promptly slap her rear before she began her next attack, clapping her frozen hands together once after. "What an unsightly display, Vară. Should a lady of your standing really be so enraged merely from so slight an insult? You can't best him swinging wildly. Nor can I. As such, its in all of our best interests if you, the sneak, and I coordinate better. I have speed, you have power, and she has range," Vivian explained, hoping that her chilling waking up call had at least gotten Vară's attention...

Even if, admittedly, she was really happy she did it, solely due to leeching enough ambient heat to feed her for a few days. Seriously, this girl ran ridiculously hot. Turning her head to Zeta while she planned out their conjoined attack, Vivian would call out with: "I don't know a single thing about your powers, but...utilize your range as best you can. Don't let him breathe between our attacks."

Matsuri

While Matsuri's plan had worked, one of the armored goons was a lot faster than she was expecting, catching her by her wrist and poising himself to hack her ears off! Letting out a yelp of surprise, Matsuri knew she had to act fast...but what could she do against a soldier in full armor from this distance? Her papa hadn't really taught her how to fight especially well, and she'd lost her range advantage...she couldn't even slip free of the man's iron grip. But, she did still have a few tricks up her sleeve. With all the speed she could manage, she manifested a Starlight Sparkler and ignited it with her magic, swinging her free hand to wrap the stream of light around the Varjan axe's shaft, slapping it away as his hand came down with the intent to swing.

Spared from that blow at least, Matsuri would struggle against his grasp for a moment before remembering the most important self-defense tactic that one of her many aunties at the fireworks factory told her:

"If a guy won't take a hint, just go for the groin!"

And so she would, winding back a kick and slamming it into the groin of the Varjan soldier, unaware that, on average, even a fledgling mamono was several times stronger than the average human. Might need to go to a smith to fix his family jewels, but for now, Matsuri would use the window she'd created to back off from the brigand, running away from him. As long as they were focused on her...maybe whoever was thinning them out could take care of the rest!
Hector Wyland

@PaulHaynek

After only a single day of training, Hector felt like every single drill sergeant that he'd been through had nothing on Ruecian. Whereas they mostly barked orders, Ruecian was the type to go: "You should be able to dodge this after a while" and then slam you into the ground at full force with magic. And after they were done, he'd boast that the next time he wouldn't have to "go easy"! As if the dislocated shoulder and pounding headache the day after weren't signs of the magus having all the delicacy of an avalanche handling a tea set. But...it was fruitful, at the very least.

Covered in bruises and with his back feeling as if he'd carried a boulder with it, Hector had gained serious understanding of two things come the days end: The explosive power a Magus unleashed in combat, and how to react quickly to a magic-oriented threat. Ruecian was leagues above him now, but Hector had managed to dodge...once. Just once. And then immediately get hit afterwards. But it was still a sign that the marksman wasn't just taking his lumps without the lesson. In spite of the fear that next time Ruecian was serious about not going easy on him, Hector was thankful for the lesson.

Or at least he would be if his face wasn't swollen up on the right side on the day THE Inquisitor Pensworth was arriving for an inspection, along with Tethys Zaerado herself! And despite that, it felt half of the tower barely understood the significance of their arrival, with some actively squabbling and displaying improper manners, even in the Inquisitor's presence. Hector on the other hand stood at military attention, chin up, chest out, shoulders back, and stomach in. And, once Tethys spoke after Grisha and Alexandra's introduction, Hector felt a cold bead of sweat roll down his neck. Introductions were in order, and Hector was eternally grateful that his fellow Flugell noble Einer had presented a perfect opportunity to interject in the shotgunning of self-introductions.

"Right you are, Einer," Hector said after the bard, giving a respectful military salute. "Hector Wyland, former Corporal of Flugell Reserve Company 6-2." An introduction that served to identify his duty and past experience rather than his birth, not like he didn't think it was important, but to an inquisitor, a blue-blooded nobleman had as little protection or meaning as a street thug when it came to investigation. Even Hector's own father cowed to them, and Hector had learned well enough to do the same.
Liliana

[@Breakthrough Crew!]

Now that she was fired up, Liliana had no intention of losing to this jerk. The fairy would swing and swing, until her sword suddenly clashed against steel, the champion kicking her away with a surprising degree of coordination. Was he hearing her movements somehow...? Or feeling the change in air pressure? Liliana wasn't sure if that whole "hearing kind of warrior" speech was just him hyping himself up, but either way, Liliana had some tricks of her own.

Coming to a stand-still mid-air, Liliana would remember what she learned from the training session with Shizuka and run her hand along Whimsy, two fingers coming to rest atop the blade's edge as she channeled her magic through it. Just because he could block hits while blind didn't mean he could counter effectively. Especially not with Liliana barely making any noise amidst the tide of chaos that the barracks had become. Now, it was time to end this in a single strike.

"Gaia Hazard..." Liliana thought to herself before shrinking down to her regular size, now far quieter as Whimsy surged with power. The very same technique they'd all practiced a few days ago, the mastered art of swordsmanship that Liliana had clumsily adapted to her own techniques:

"Heavenly Strike!" Liliana called out, aiming straight at the Varjan's torso less than an inch away from him, a tremendous burst of Whimsy's power concentrating on a point the size of a needle, before Liliana grew to full size just upon release.

Eula

Somewhere past the wilds, Eula and Sorae had come upon sets of footprints leading them directly to their desires quarry. Gloating over it like a hunter before a large buck, now was likely an optimal time to spring an ambush on them. Eula would assess rather quickly that the firethrower had to be taken down quickly, lest indirect fire roast their would-be-rescuee.

Then, Sorae posed the question of whether Eula wanted the warrior to go this fight solo. Eula didn't consider that for even a moment as she adjusted her left hand, turning on her stun gun. "I have no problem fighting. I am simply incapable of causing direct bodily harm or loss of life to humans. Incapacitation however..." Eula would take aim at the Firethrower, prepared to stun him immediately to start the engagement. "Preparing to incapacitate Varjan caster, Sorae," she said in a quiet voice, prepared to synchronize their assault.
Vivian

@AzureKnight(VRA), @Rezod92
Well, at the very least Vară had finally spoken up. It seems her ire had been building the entire time, though Vivian was feeling a bit of that after Kazenosuke laughed at her words. ...What an arrogant man. But, there was a difference between the boasting of a coward, and the words of one obsessed with strength. Kazenosuke was definitely the latter, and was meaning it when he said that the three of them could take him on at once. As in, he could wipe all three of them out at once. "He's deadly serious, little mouse. And it looks like he's riled Vară up enough that we can't talk about it further."

Folding her arms against her stomach, Vivian's legs would suddenly sharpen to needlepoints as she balanced upon the tips of her toes, freezing over to become deadly weapons that scored the dirt beneath her and froze it gradually. "Well, truth be told, I did want to witness your bladework. Show me if your passion for it matches mine," the glacies said, tossing a lock of hair over her shoulder before beginning to glide towards Kazenosuke, earth giving way to ice as she slid along it. Vară's new form and overly flashy attack would be suicidal to attempt to coordinate with, but Vivian could at least cut off the ronin's escape route behind him, poised to strike if he moved as she expected. As for the Mouse...Rat...Sneak...she could find somewhere to insert herself, Vivian imagined. Preferably not between anyone.

Matsuri

While Matsuri had planned for the Varjans to set fire to the forest, she wasn't quite prepared for them to be so zealous about it! She expected a torch or something, not a full-on flamethrower spell.

Now, the temple was likely in danger if this fire got out of control...let alone the shinobi that might be hiding out here. Matsuri's magic wasn't great enough to conjure water or anything like that...but she did have an idea for how to keep the damage to a minimum. It was something her father taught her about in case there was an accident and a bunch of the surrounding woods caught fire...fire can't exist without fuel, and something for it to jump to. Sort of like how fire jumps down the length of a fuse to light at the "fuel" inside a fireworks, making it explode. Fire was ravenously hungry, but died super fast if it didn't eat. As such, matsuri would make sure to starve out this forest fire before it became a problem.

With her Kyubi Buster now ready, Matsuri would capitalize on the confusion her illusion was causing. Out of the corner of her eye she did spy that a few of the brigands were being dragged into bushes but...for now, she just had to take care of what was in front of her. She imagined these Varjan mages could dish out heat but not take it themselves...and as such, would fire her Kyubi Buster straight into one's back, hurtling them towards the inferno as the fireworks' brittle shells came off in stages.

First was the initial pop of the outer casing breaking upon significant impact, causing the projectile to speed up enough to drag a grown man along with it.

Second, the fuel ignited properly, and began to emit sparks in a whirling vortex as it traveled, starting to throw white hot sparks at the brigands, mages, and cloud the area with a bit of smoke.

Stages three through nine were all mostly various stages of explosive power, and with the pyromancer's body blocking one direction, all the sparks would only find purchase on his robes, or the tree and brush the shot had passed, starting the controlled burn that Matsuri had hoped for.

Aware of how open she'd left herself, Matsuri would immediately produce a Bang-Bang Bomber with her magic and toss it after igniting, hoping to disorient the Varjans enough that she could make another getaway.

"C'mon...if there really are ninjas hiding out here...I hope I can at least hold out long enough for them to deal with this! Who else would be nabbing Varjans into bushes?" Matsuri thought as she backed up, trying to manifest enough of her energy for more ammo.
Liliana

[@Breakthrough Crew!]
Liliana's plan to thin the outermost Varjans had gone awry when a javelin slammed into the wall, the fairy's trajectory making it impossible to dodge the obstacle in time as she plummeted to the ground, dazed and confused.

Liliana's confusion proved an opening as the javelin wielder grabbed her, hard enough to make the little fairy lose concentration on her spell. A yelp of pain escaped her as her wings were crumpled, her meager size making her strength nothing in comparison to the enraged warrior before her. Wincing with one eye open, she would smirk, knowing she'd really pushed this man's buttons. "Strictly speaking? Nope. Every little bad thing that happens to people like you, you bring it on yourselves!" the fairy said defiantly, before letting out a pained gasp as his grip tightened.

"Can't...get big...crushing...me..." the fairy thought, looking up at the ceiling, vision growing bleary. Was she going to die? ...Unlikely, at least right away. The Varjans had ways of getting information out of people, and...well, a tiny body is a lot easier to torture. And once they learned she could regenerate somewhat...

"...I...I don't..."

It would be the same pain the Shizuyamans endured. The same pain Fathers, Mothers, and Children were forced to accept. A smaller body to the pile.

"I c-can't..."

What was the fairy queen thinking, sending only her sixth best to a foreign nation when all were present? Was this a test? Was Liliana hated?

Tears welled in the fairy's eyes as hope started to look farther and farther away, too in pain to even call out to her temporary ally, the summoned minotaur as he raged throughout the barracks. Liliana was alone, and had chosen this route of her own volition. Her blade, while obliged to help her, helped her on command. It couldn't cast without her permission, and all the air was being squeezed out of the fairy's lungs.

Was this...what it was like to have your life flash before your eyes? Liliana was remembering things that made it hard to get up, even as it hurt to breath...

"Rose...bud..." Liliana squeaked out, tears welling in her eyes as she remembered that there were many, many strong people in her life. And the strongest ones she'd ever met, her strongest sister, her best friend, her (sorta) mentor, and her queen, all of them believed in her.

Rosebud would welcome Liliana home with congratulations alongside the Queen. Alice would return the task force, and keep being her weird, quirky, queenly, crazy self. Shizuka would be confused as always by Liliana's antics, but at the end of the day, surviving and winning was all that mattered. Surviving and winning was all that mattered.

Survive and win.

Liliana would muster up her strength and slam her face down against the lightly armored hand of the brigand and sinking her teeth in, causing enough pain for a momentary distraction that loosened his grip. A single cry of: "Whimsy!" would cast the spell roulette, a ball of darkness shooting from Whimsy and "entering" the brigands' body, immediately removing his ability to see as Liliana fell free of his hand, already growing larger so she could fight back. Her ribs were aching like crazy, but they'd heal. With renewed vigor, Liliana would fight on the ground while her wings slowly mended themselves. "Don't go thinking the minotaur's the only one that'll kick your butt!" she cried, already swinging at her previous captor.

Eula

@Enkryption (ALI)
It would seem some level of hostility existed now between Sorae and Alice, though, given that they were monsters, Eula had a feeling she already knew what it was about. Still, it wasn't her business to pry into. Answering Sorae promptly, she would say: "I am almost back to full capacity. I will have trouble fighting humans, but I can at least investigate into the matter you brought up." Eula wasn't sure how well she'd fare alone, but could at least guarantee that she could come back in one piece. Thus far, the thing to damage her the most in her time at Shizuyama was that strange glass sword that had nearly taken her arm off. Reassuring herself, she would pat the patched up arm, running a finger along the length of the patchwork metal that had been integrated to fix up the armor plating. Slightly heavier than before, but it was still serviceably fast and wouldn't weigh her down too much.

"I am ready."
Liliana

[@Breakthrough Crew!]
At first, the mischief making fairy was certain this would do to sew chaos...up until the psycho with the spears pinned one of his men to the ground on the bad end of a javelin. ...Uh-oh.

Order was restored through fear, and Liliana was forced to hide in a ceiling beam out of sight. But...well, it did at least prove that this guy had some semblance of leadership or seniority to him. A good start, but...Liliana had a feeling a better start would be to pursue the group en route to this "Merneptah". But given the rain, Liliana wouldn't last long without being human-sized, which would break her cover quickly. As such, she'd have to entrust that duty to the others going to the manor. If all went well, Liliana could somehow cause enough chaos to completely shut the barracks down, so that her friends could go about unimpeded.

"Alright, Whimsy...let's get the biggest, meanest cow we possibly can! This time, hedging all bets on...Summon Cow!" The fairy thought, raising her sword, sheathed in her invisibility before a sigil formed on the ground in the center of the barracks. Rather than the usual bovine however...something resembling a man emerged.

A titan of a monster, the minotaur stood at nearly ten feet tall, with an axe bigger than any man in the room clenched in one hand. Scars littered his body, and steam spilled out of the iron mask that adorned his (probably) hideous face, silver hair billowing out from beneath as he looked down at the Varjans who were, by now, past the point of initial shock and readying their weapons. "...This place...it reeks of blood." the minotaur said, gripping his axe tighter, a glimmer of red visible in the dark recesses of the mask. "Varjans again. Bart...Neil...Talia...Father...I promise." he said, before gripping his axe tighter. In a moment, the entire barracks would become a battlefield.

"I won't run this time. Not again. Not ever," the minotaur mumbled, before swinging his axe once, cutting through an approaching Varjan, armor and all, as if he hadn't even been there, the pressure of his strike causing winds to cut apart curtains in the building, and for Liliana to nearly be flung from her perch if she hadn't dug Whimsy into the roof beam. "I THINK WE WENT TOO BIG AND MEAN! Since when could we summon Minotaurs with that spell!?" she whispered, gulping as the scene grew chaotic. But, Liliana knew she couldn't just leave this minotaur now...a rampaging cow was something, but this was a living, breathing person she'd just summoned right into a pack of Varjans!

Descending from the rafters while still invisible, Liliana would seek to pick off any Varjans using bows before they could target her new temporary ally, hoping this minotaur was as strong as he looked.
