In terms of Discord, nothing general-purpose. Maybe if more new folks show up who would be interested.
The rest of us are U.S. time, but our lot has weird sleep schedules, so it may line up great.

There are definitely justifiable ways for some characters to end up in a situation where they would meet your character on Mars, I’d say. It’s just a matter of whether they’re tied in to other current goings-on or not.
I wouldn’t worry about trying to pick up on lore immediately and readily. As you can see, we have many many pages and move at a pretty rapid pace due to speed posting. There would be a lot to read, and many of us use multiple accounts with changing avatars and profile info to match whatever character is featured on that profile at the time. So picking up the character who might have been on my current account at any point in the past, for example, is an incredibly tall ask. We’ll help you out in understanding anything you might need if it comes up.
As you wrote your character to be new to the multiverse and traversing it as it stands, it might actually be easier for someone to come to you.

Yeah, sounds good to me. If you want to go the tavern route, he could find some mysterious door on the planet that he wanders through to find himself in that inter-dimensional world. Sounds like that might be the easiest, unless your heart is set on doing something on Mars.

We have one crew in a pretty isolated planet, another in a tavern for certain interdimensional travelers who are cool with the owner, or we could try to find some middle ground to meet your character in a place they'd be likely to go.
