"Nice," Efraim said happily as he listened to what Haleigh had to say. He was curious since he had spoken little with him over the weekend, and he knows she is friends with Rory. So there is that.

"I liked breakfast. I have never tried that before, and I was wondering what else you know what to make." If breakfast was a indicator, then Haleigh knows how to make some good food. Granted, it is campfire food, but still good then the less. So it sounds like she used to camp alot then and him. He only went camping once and was here, and well, everyone knows how that went down. Efraim tried not to think about it since why ruin his first day of classes? Though maybe he could truly camp one day.

"About cooking, that might be the best since the only thing I know how to make are quesadillas." Efraim saying it plainly, If the others are okay with it, of course." Who knows, maybe the other two know how to make something really good, or apparently, in Rory's case. Being on a special diet or something. He was never one for being an exercise nut, but he does some exercise when he feels like it. Just enough so he does not get fat, and he has enough problems as it is for being a hyperhuman. Having a health problem is something he does not need.

"So Haleigh, are you nervous about your first classes? I am, and I know we have different teams and all. So yours will be different since we are not on the same team, but I am wondering what they will have us do at the augmented reality center. Who knows what to expect, given his time at the academy so far, but hopefully, it will be okay. It is not like they will try anything hard on the first day.

"Uh well I just do not like talking about it but you see." Zrer still hesitant but will finally let out after taking a calm deep breath. "You see I used to be able to use magic and after an incident... I can no longer use magic so I have been seeking a cure to restore my magic." Zrer sighed and awkwardly scratch the back of his head.

"It is a sore subject for me and I have been trying to cure it myself but with little success and would you be willing to help me with this?"

He does need help with this at this point he thought. Maybe she can help him and but he tried not to overthink it. Zrer almost did not notice the new arrival and gave a friendly wave as Boro started to talk to the girl about books. Zrer already has the help of one person so maybe having one more person to help him with restoring his magic would not be so bad.

"There is a reason why I joined the army." Arnfinn said to himself as the ship rocked due to the monsoon and occasionally had to hold on to something. He did wonder why the higher-ups decided that their first mission would be during a monsoon. Well, at least the Ruzis will probably not be expecting an attack during a monsoon. He thought as he made his way to his battle frame. Unfazed by the near-constant activity around him as their first mission was happening very soon.

The Crawler, as it is called, was something that fascinated him. A massive mobile base that can thread on both land and sea. What a marvel of engineering, and a shame it has to be used for war. But it also made him wish they had something like this during the Markland civil war, especially during the Stakenes Islands' campaign. That was a pain to fight in, but, in the end, the islands fell to the prince's forces, and at least the seas were calm during that campaign.

By now, Arnfinn had reached his battle frame and was getting himself ready in the cockpit. He could hear what the captain and his fellow teammates were saying as he made his checks. Arnfinn's only concern was some of his teammates were green. While this would not normally be a problem for them, this is a major operation, and not knowing if his teammates have it in them to do the mission is well. If it were up to him things would be different. Yes, those green like the Vinlander were highly trained, but training can only get you so far during a battle, and it can't prepare you for everything. So it looks like he has to hope that the greens will do well during the mission. As in not getting themselves or another killed.

Now after making sure that Outlander's systems were green and his battle frame was ready did he do one last thing. A quick prayer, and he closed his eyes and put his hands together spoke in a hushed tone. "Hialti may you guide us during this battle and grant us a righteous victory."

After that, he got on comms. "This is Hylen reporting, and the Outlander is ready to depart," speaking with a clear Markland accent. "I will be on overwatch and anyone just say something if you need some fire support" I got you covered, saying it generally to everyone.

Arnfinn had decided on not using his old callsign since Outlander seems more fitting since he is a stranger in this land. But, now it is time to see if his new teammates can handle themselves and how their first mission will go.

So today is the actual first day of being at his place. Efraim thought as he got out bed before his alarm could go off. The perks of being an early bird. Though he has to admit he is nervous about starting his first day of classes. He does not know what to expect other than the fact his first class today is in the augmented reality center and is about practical ability training. So he imagines he has to use his powers and be a sort of training. That he can do fine, but no clue what his teacher has in store for him. It kinda helps it is the House Canis's representative Aiden Roth is his teacher. So a familiar face, at least.

After getting up, Efraim did his normal morning routine if he was at home. Only the silence of dorms was his company, and it felt weird to him. Since he is used to noise like his dog Tia or something. But here right now, mostly silence. Granted it is early in the morning but still. In a way, he could see it as a respite from the stressful days before. Either way, most seemed to still be asleep, so he was careful not to wake his roommates.

Which he met them over the weekend, and they seem to be nice. A good thing since if he is going to be here, he should at least have good roommates, and as he went over to the fridge to get some breakfast, he saw Haleigh's note.

There is leftover skillet in the fridge for you three. It's an old Crawford camping recipe. Eat if you want. - Haleigh

"Skillet, aye, might as well try something new for breakfast." Efraim said quietly and opened the fridge and had some of the skillet for breakfast. Which he enjoyed and that he was grateful for, and maybe he should ask her later if she has other good recipes.

Still, she was clearly gone, so he is not the only early bird, and while he would be tempted to stay for a bit and maybe talk with his other roommates. Efraim wanted more to make sure he was not late on his first day, and so, after clearing his dish, putting it away and gathering his things. He left and made his way to the mess hall.

After arriving and he could see the three faculty representatives and some students. Though he could not see anyone from Firebird but he did see Haleigh, who was on her phone. Should I... well, I am roommates with her, so I might as well try to get to know her more, and she does seem to be alone. Efraim thought and made his way over to her and sat down next to her.

"Hey Haleigh", trying to get her attention and did a small wave. "Want to talk for a bit before things get going?"

Despite a rocky start, Arnfinn was able to thrive at the academy and would later go to the Coldsun officer's academy. Where he graduated and became an officer in the army. While this made his parents happy, Arnfinn felt dissatisfied as he had noticed the growing nepotism in the army's ranks. Making him leave the military when he was allowed, and Arnfinn wanted to do more than just do his parents' wishes. But his life would change very soon.
  
  For years there were rising tensions between King Joakim Solem and his son Prince Magnar Solem over how the kingdom was being run, how it was becoming corrupt, and on the decline. Things reached a head when news broke that the prince was planning a coup, and Joakim was unusually quick to order to arrest his son. This failed, and Magnar, who had been gathering support. Announced that his father had lied about the coup in order to silence him and declared that his father was no longer worthy of the throne. Quicking escalating into civil war.
  
  Arnfinn was unsure at first was unsure of where he stood while his parents wished for him and the house to stay out of the conflict. But he is not one to stay quiet while a war is going on. Especially one was going on in this homeland. So after thinking about it, he decided to join the prince's side and would later become a Battle Frame pilot.
  
  The war lasted four years, and it would turn when news broke about how it was revealed that King Joakim had forged Magnar's planned coup and how the prince was telling the truth, which galvanized the prince's forces, and support for the king started to dwindle. Arnfinn would fight well during the war and would fight in critical battles. Proving himself a capable officer and fighter. Though he did has issues with some of his fellow noble-born officers who were clearly not ready to lead despite being officers. It was during the war that he grew close to one officer, a commoner Siri. Who would lose her life during the civil war.
  
  When the war was over, with the death of King Joakim and Prince Magnar becoming king. Arnfinn was congratulated personally by the new king for not just his performance during the civil war but being the only one of House Hylen to fight in the civil war. Something that would weaken the family's reputation and influence.
  
  Now after leaving the military and thinking about his future now that the war was over. He heard about the Phantom Brigade and its mission. Arnfinn knew what he had to do and chose to enlist with the brigade. Now a long way from home and fighting with people he has only heard about and fighting a foe he has never faced. But this is his choice, and fighting against an unjust enemy is something he cannot just watch from the sidelines.
• Other things: Arnfinn is an amateur writer that enjoys writing about fantasy and researching the myths and legends from both Markland and more.
  
  While Arnfinn does have good relations with his family, mainly his siblings. The fact that only he disobeyed their parents and join the civil war and the only reason why House Hylen still has influence because of his actions. It has made him disappointed in his siblings. Especially his younger sister.

Recent history: Considered a bearer of the old ways. While settled by colonists from Avrupa like Vinland. Markland was mainly settled by seeking religious freedom after a pagan Avrupan religion called Esanir and was being threatened and persecuted in the religion's homeland. Thus, many of the followers of Esanir moved to the land that would be later known as Markland. Thereafter it was temporarily forgotten by the Avrupans due to a plague but was rediscovered and by then. The colonists had united into a kingdom known as the Kingdom of Markland.

Despite some tensions with their neighbor to the south, the Union of Vinland. Currently, the two nations are allies, and the kingdom has large reserves of Therranite and has invested in Battle Frames to secure their borders. However, recently the kingdom has been through a civil war between the supporters of King Joakim Solem and his son Prince Magnar Solem. Which Magnar won and has, since defeating his father, issued reforms and cracked down on corruption that had thrived during his father's rule.

Character's Relevance in the nation: Arnfinn is a respected fighter during the Marland civil war and was personally awarded by King Magnar for his efforts and is a loyal soldier to the kingdom.

My thoughts are like Bean and Nemaisare. If the rp is going to in September and you will be gone. I am in favor of ending it here since playing a rp you know, has a set end date, and knowing the ending will not be a satisfying one. It is not worth it for me. I think it is best to end it here before we get more invested in an rp that will end prematurely and not in a satisfying way. That is my thoughts on it.
