Jax kept moving quickly and quietly on the rooftops of Loguetown, he would soon be within eyesight of any snipers and he would then use his partial materialization to knock out the marines with a quick pistol whip that they would never see coming.

It was just simpler that way, they’re just fools following orders of corrupt leaders. They’re doing what it takes to survive in a world where the higher ups control the lives of their subordinates without giving a second thought about them. The key to taking out the perimeter of snipers was finding the head of the snake and cutting it off. That means there is at least a commander in charge of this attack. Though more likely there is a captain calling the shots. If the captain puts up more resistance than necessary then Jax would have to kill him. That would be regrettable, full-fledged violence was something he preferred to avoid if at all possible.

His materializations had started to improve since the first time he teleported. Whenever the crew docked all Jax would focus on is trying to cross the city they docked in as quickly as possible. It was a lot of hard work, but it really paid off. He could now materialize with his pistol and clothes so he wouldn’t have to get naked to fully materialize.

Jax was exhausted from exerting himself to take out what seemed like dozens of soldiers, but his hands don’t make the best eyes so it was hard to keep count. He decided to take a seat behind a chimney of a house and focus on regaining his energy.
Finally Bogard remembered his Den Den Mushi, Jax could not believe his ears when his captain finally decided to listen to him. Jax would have thought that he was in heaven if it wasn’t for the people trying to kill him.

Bogard destroyed the restaurant’s ceiling and jumped up on the roof while making bold declarations of becoming the next Pirate King. This gave Jax enough time to appear on the roof and then teleport to a set of houses that were behind the Marine perimeter. He had complete belief in his crew and their ability to beat up on a bunch of grunts.

The marines probably had another perimeter of snipers behind their soldiers in order to pick off the crew easily rather than engaging them in a full-fledged fight. That the crew had to break through two lines of Marines and then find the quickest way to their ship, and then try to sail out of Loguetown while praying that the Marines didn’t already have the harbor blockaded. None of that would matter if the crew wasn’t able to get out of the restaurant alive.

Jax had to decide between either taking out soldiers at the restaurant or breaking down the second line of snipers that he assumed were somewhere in the city. This meant he had to watch both in front of him and behind him in order to not die. If he was wrong about the second line of snipers then he wasted precious time and his team might be overwhelmed. On the other hand, if there was a second line and he didn’t take care of them first it could lead to a lot of problems farther down the road, literally.

“Captain, I am heading farther into the city to take out any snipers that they may have posted. I’m gonna leave these grunts to you,” Jax reported to his captain through baby Den Den Mushi. With that, Jax pulled out his pistols. They work better with his partial teleportation than a rifle, so he decided to switch over since he didn’t really need long range accuracy if he could move in closer.

It's all good I had my post written last night but was waiting for BC, so it literally took just some quick adjustments to make it work.
Jax could not believe this idiot would just walk up to a bunch of pirates and ask them if they were pirates. It was definitely a dangerous technique. It meant he was probably outside of the law right now, just like Jax and his fellow pirates. It also meant that he might be the reason for the sirens and the marines that were all over the place. Though it still might be the Red Hood Crew that is the cause for the alarms, either way they were all in the same boat, if the boat was a restaurant where all the employees had decided to leave.

The stranger probably wasn’t a marine because it was a safe bet that the marines hadn’t decided to teach their spies to just walk up to a pirate captain and ask him about his crimes. Though it would definitely be a good twist on the infiltration of pirate crews, so then they probably shouldn’t let “the slave” learn too much about them. Then again, if he really wasn’t a marine Jax couldn’t just leave him to die. All of these possibilities started to give Jax a headache when out of nowhere came the announcement “You and your accomplices won’t get out alive.”

And with that the glass of the windows shattered and the restaurant was filled with smoke while bullets came whizzing all around the room. Jax dove for cover.

“Captain, you decide whatever you want to do with this former slave. I’m gonna head out and teleport up to one of the roofs so I can get a good count on the marines we are dealing with. Please, please tell me you brought your baby Den Den Mushi or else it might be difficult to help you with my information.”

Sorry I was waiting for you to respond since Renny directly responded to you and it made sense to just have you respond.

"Sheep is rather a harsh simile isn't it? Is it not a natural reaction to seek safety when danger is present? Idiots like us and the people in this restaurant are the exception."

The cafe had pretty only people who had grown accustom to these sirens as they acted like it was any other day. It was sort of like the ballet that Jax was taken to as a child. There was a dance in the restaurant while the music of the sirens and the yelling of people accompanying the customers. It was rather calming in a way. If these people act like nothing is going on then maybe we have a chance of avoiding a fight if we just stay calm.

That was just a lie that Jax told himself. There will be a fight and they will be chased off the island. Worse case scenario they will die at the hands at some captain or another who is better trained then they are. Even worse would be one with a devil fruit power and the ability to actually use it. Jax just learned how to teleport himself completely and even then it is not even close to instantaneous. Jax has to be smart with his position if he is going to take any of the real marines by surprise. He may look like a brawler, but he would rather fight with his brain than his muscle.

"This might be our last real meal for awhile and I still have a decent amount of beli. This meal is on me to celebrate the start of a journey. I was gonna buy some googles at a store, but given the current climate I am probably just gonna get some off a marine that ends up knocked out or dead. I have about 10,000 beli so pick basically anything."

“Sure, I need to get something to eat anyway and it’s always good to have something to wash it down.” Jax wasn’t going to turn down a chance to get to meet his new crew mate and it might be humorous to see him get drunk enough to get into a fight with someone. Just as they were about to disembark from the ship the captain came out onto the deck and declared his desires to head out into town with Jax and Kanki.

Their walk to the center of town was accompanied with a loud siren which caused citizens all around them to rush to safety. This obviously did not deter the captain, so Jax won’t let it deter himself. Though the crew was moving with a purpose, it was annoying to have to move around all of these people. It was slowing their movement down and it increased the chance of bumping into someone who might recognize Jax. There was also a chance that Jax might lose sight of his captain if he pushes forward too far. Kanki and Jax are easy to pick out in a crowd, but if it wasn’t for Bogard’s red cloak Jax would lose his captain in a heartbeat.

Jax hated being out in the open like this and these sirens were going off for a reason, for all they know Marines are sweeping the town for pirates or pirates are attacking the town or even worse there is going to be a public execution today. Whatever the situation is it will probably only lead to bad news for them.

Jax was trying to get away from the public eye so it would be harder for the Marines to find him. It made sense to become part of a pirate crew since they usually have bounties either way. He was able to fit in and live a somewhat normal life while helping his captain become the pirate king. With that position of power, Jax will be able to help more people than he could have if he just decided to go hide in a hole and pray that the Navy never finds him. Now his captain is dragging him into the center of one of the most famous towns for everyone to see; this can only end well.

The sirens kept wailing with every step and it started to get on Jax’s nerve. There was no order to anyone’s actions besides their own and it was starting to be counterintuitive to keep pushing into this crowd. They were not making any progress, so it might be best to find a restaurant to eat, drink, wait out these sirens, and find some information.

“Do you guys want to head into a restaurant? It might be nice to eat some real food for a change and we can ask around about the siren. I can head up to the top of a roof and try to find a restaurant that might still be open.”
rom the crow’s nest Jax had a decent view of Loguetown. One of the most famous places in all the world when it comes to pirates, where Gol D. Roger died and one of the many islands that Monkey D. Luffy made an impact on. He was able to make out some spots where he could teleport to just in case anything happened in town and the ship was not a safe option. The voice of the captain broke his concentration on the city and he was able to barely make out that he wanted the crew to head into town. He hadn’t been with the ship or crew very long, but he did know that whenever the captain had a strange feeling about anything, he was usually right.

It makes sense tactically to head into town, it’s always good to get the lay of the land in order to assess choke points and the quickest route to get back to the ship. He worked his way down to the deck with the wind spraying sea salt in his face. This made him think that getting googles might be a wise investment. That gives him another reason to go into town. He still had some beli from his successful mutiny. It should be just enough to get him a meal and a reasonable pair of googles.

Jax finally hit the deck after a quick climb back down. He climbs down with ferocity every time due to the mistrust of the mast. He has a firm belief that it will completely topple over if anything stronger than a light breeze decides to hit it.

He looked around for his crewmate, a large fishman who goes by the name Kanki. They will definitely stick out like sore thumbs. It’s true that there is a Marine base in this town, so it there might be safety in numbers. There is also the chance that if Jax and Kanki travel together, that they have a harder time blending in with the crowd.

"So, do you wanna head out and scout the town with me or do you think we should split up?”
I'm fine with no backstories. I really don't have a strong preference, but if that is the way the wind is blowing might as well sail with it.
@Renny I would like Jax to be the Sniper for the Red Hood Pirates.
