Ithobal is definitely participating in the tournament.
Lord Ithobal Julius Einther Gully

Ithobal breathed a sigh of relief when she quickly retorted with her line about a scar ruining a beautiful bride. She was probably the sharpest Lady in the room, and it made Ithobal wonder if all of the Hyland's were like this. They were known as great warriors, ones who Ithobal's father always held a mistrust. They were both the most powerful military forces in the Kingdom. The Quell Sea was always known for their naval fleet, and the Hyland's for their armies. Arthur Gully changed that, he was a great military leader, and Arthur assumed it would cause ire in the Hylands. With Ithobal's cynicism being mixed with his father's implanted opinions, it would make sense to get out of this conversation, but Juliana's words kept drawing him in. Like Sirens drawing lost sailors to their death on sharp rocks, but Ithobal knew he would have to be alert.

Then a line hit Ithobal, Julian mentioned that she should have given the cat to the princess in hopes of it scarring her. Ithobal might have been mistaken, but he was pretty confident that she was flirting with him. Ithobal didn't know what to do, he didn't really think he would get this far. He thought she was just going to reject him and he would at least have some fun. He has a princess to win tomorrow, and tonight he has met a woman who made him rethink his actions. Could he give up such chances just for his family? He would be disappointing them again, but what else was new?

"Then you best be careful with the kitten, if you get a scratch from it you might never find a man worthy of you," Ithobal responded with a twinge in his voice to respond to her flirtatious advances. Of course her family would always be near by. It would be nice to have some time to get to know her, at least not in a crowded dining hall. Then she made the move and invited him to the gardens to walk and look at the stars. Before he could respond with a real answer, his sister, Myriam, and his mother came to interrupt the conversation.

"Mother it is so good to see you. I hope the trip was safe, and it has been too long since I've seen you," Ithobal returned the peck on his mother's cheek. He quickly transitioned into his introduction, "Mother, Myriam, I would like to introduce you to Lady Juliana Hyland, of Mount Promonon. We have been having a lovely conversation about the tournament, this adorable kitten, and the stars. And Lady Juliana, I always find time to look at the stars, I feel they bring out the beauty of the world." He said that response rather plainly to try and keep his mother's prying ears from their true conversation. If there was one thing Ithobal didn't need in his life right now, it was his mother meddling in his love life. Knowing his mother, he does not have the power to end the conversation and he can only hope that his mother is not too interested in Juliana.

"And I am Lord Ithobal Gully, heir to Serpent's Roost and the Quell Sea, my lady," as he kissed her hand as is custom. Ithobal could hear the teasing in her voice with here words, and her mischievous smile that she tried to hide behind her lady like behavior. Her smile betrayed her, but it only drew Ithobal more into conversation.

"I understand where you're coming from. If a lady is scarred in any way I would have to believe she is unfit to marry," Ithobal responded with all of the wit he could muster. Unfortunately, she is from House Hyland. They are one of the larger houses along with House Gully. His cynicism wanted to overwhelm him and told him to not trust a single word she said. There was just something about her that drew him into conversation. He just need to remind himself to not let any important information slip to her. For all he knew she was the enemy and would try to get information from him.

"I think I can find it somewhere in my heart to forgive you, but we both know that you aren't so foolish," with that Ithobal gave her a look that told her that he knew she was smarter than she let on. He could not believe how well she blended into the role of a perfect lady.

He just noticed what appeared to be one of her kinsman looking over at the two of them. Ithobal was pretty confident that if he tried anything too drastic it would lead to a confrontation. That would probably look pretty bad in the eyes of the King and all the other nobles in attendance. Though it would be nice to practice his fighting skills before the tournament. He had only been sparring with his crew for this entire time. Ithobal would have to get use to true swordplay though and he would have to hope that a trident would throw people off.

"Why yes I am entering the tournament to win the hand of Princess Madeline. It is my duty to my family to ensure a thousand year dynasty. Or at least that's what my father keeps telling me. I've been a pretty bad son these past couple of years, so I'm trying to make up for it. But enough about my family, who is that man who keeps looking over at us? Is he going to be mad that I'm talking to you, should I take my leave and return in the night at your window?"

Ithobal heard his father's words loud and clear. All his life he had been a disappointment to his father and the rest of his family, but now he could finally be a productive member. This could be the moment where the Gully family becomes the strongest in the kingdom outside of the Ainsworth. They would build a thousand year dynasty out of this moment and Ithobal would be the foundation for the strengthening of his family. Ithobal made an acknowledging head nod to his father to show that he understood and they made their way over to the King and Princess Madeline.

Ithobal did a quick bow before the King and allowed his father to introduce Ithobal. Arthur has been a close ally to the King for many years. This would probably help establish the relationship that Ithobal hoped to build.

Ithobal saw his brother by the King's side. It was good to see his brother, but unfortunately this was not the time for informal greetings. He just made a quick nod of acknowledgement to his brother, hoping that he would be able to talk to him later in the evening.

"Your Grace, Princess Madeline. It is truly an honor to be back at Corevial Castle. Out of all the places I have traveled to it is truly the most beautiful. I am sure you have been receiving many beautiful and wonderful gifts princess. Unfortunately, I could not exactly fit my gift into this castle. As being Gully's we are expert ship makers, so I have commissioned a slope for you. Though you may not have been outside of the castle before, you will one day. When that day comes when you tour your kingdom, no other ship will allow you to do it as quickly. For now I only bring a model of what will be yours." One of Ithobal's men pulled a bottle with a ship inside of it out of his bag and handed it to Ithobal. Ithobal then proceeded to give it to the Princess hoping that she would enjoy the gift.

With that, Ithobal and his father made their way away from the head table. Ithobal found a table that was relatively open and sat down with his men. He needed to get away from his father and the stress of actually living up to expectations. He poured himself some wine that he brought himself. It's not that he didn't trust the host, he just wanted to drink what he was use to. If he was going to put himself out of his comfort zone then he wants to keep some comforts. That is when he noticed a kitten that was in the room. And more importantly the raven haired woman who was holding the kitten.

She was dressed as a proper lady would be dressed, with jewelry to match. When she smiled, she had a carefree look to her. This might be the last night Ithobal has to be a free man, so he decided to just go for it.

You know, it's usually rude to bring an animal to a ceremony without giving it as a gift," Ithobal said trying to sound like a mix between funny and confident.
So I just got picked up full time for my work, so my amount of free time has dropped. In order to stop from holding thr RP back I am pulling myself out. It's been awesome doing it with you guys. Maybe once my internship ends I'll be more active. Thanks.
Everyone was exhausted from their battle with the Marines on Drum Island and it also left quite a mark on Jax. He was completely useless against the more powerful Marines and he needed to either improve himself. Either that or use his powers to improve the power of his teammates. He would be much more useful in a support position. Doing whatever it takes to make sure his allies can surprise and disrupt the enemies. If that means he rearranges the battle field, then so be it. He would need to work on his stamina of teleportations. To increase the speed of the materialization he will have to decrease the distance. Basically he would only be able to teleport wherever he can see if he wants to do it at an almost instantaneous rate.

" I agree with the Captain, we all need to train. I am going to be honest, I am not much of a fighter. I don't have the explosive as some of you, my powers weren't made for attack. I don't know how to use haki of any kind. I can help you guys increase your powers though. I want to be your support, move you where you can't move. Have you face the right opponent. I am able to make the large scale battle easier for everyone. I want to help all of you become stronger, and using my powers to help your powers flourish is the best way I can do that. Jax thought that if he was able to learn all of his teammates moves and skill sets he would be able to support them more efficiently.

That is until he saw Xerxes toying around with Dirk. Dirk was clearly outclassed and was being threatened by his ally. The explosive man was actually trying to hurt Dirk while making open threats with everyone in sight. Jax materialized quickly to grab Dirk and bring him behind the crazed man "If he is going to be frenzied, then he will probably leave his back open. You know, it's usually not a bright idea to attack a crewmate...in front of the rest of the crew. Abusing those weaker than you are a misuse of your powers and it is not part of being a crew.

As always, Arthur Gully's chill was still as strong and apparent as ever. His father would like to be anywhere else besides this party where the high and mighty gather. Ithobal's father never enjoyed the company of other royals, and that was something he had in common with his son. Though it was doubtful that his father would ever admit that they have anything in company, save for their name. IF only Ithobal's mother was there, her love for her children easily made up for the lack thereof from Arthur.

It seemed like the moment Ithobal arrived that Tybalt quickly found his way out of the conversation. Though Ithobal couldn't exactly tell if Tybalt held an enmity towards him, he was still quite sure that many in his family felt like he abandoned his sisters. He felt that he did so as well, and it caused him large amounts of stress. He thought they would be fine with his brother, Lucan, but then he was out of the picture. He didn't want to abandon his family, but he need to find himself. He came rushing back home as soon as he heard, but those in his family didn't see it that way. They only saw him leave. He needed to prove that he was a leader in his family, and this would be the first step.

"Myriam, it is good to see you too. You have grown more beautiful over the time I've been gone. I have brought you a book with all the myths and legends from around the kingdom. I have been told it is quite a good read." With that one of Ithobal's crew pulled a book from his bag and gave it to Ithobal. Ithobal then handed it to his sister.

"And it is good to see you Amelia. I am going to compete in the tournament. I have been gone from this family for too long and I need to start taking a lead." Ithobal wasn't even sure if that was true or if he had the actual confidence to back it up, but he needed to start trying. "I brought you a book detailing the political history of the Lhivoria. I am sure you will fully enjoy these stories." The same flurries that accompanied Myriam's gift transfer occurred again, but this time ending with Amelia.

"Catarina, try breathing between your sentences. It might make you easier to understand. I did bring you a gift. It is a book about star crossed lovers from rival families. It is a true page turner." The gift was given to Catarina, and the crowd started to move inside.

Once inside Ithobal looked around the great hall to try and size up the competition. It was not an easy task, since there were so many people from around the kingdom, and they were all trying to increase their influence. Marrying a princess was the easiest way to move up in the world. "Father, shall we go introduce ourselves to the royal family? I know that you hold disdain for such events, so I thought the quicker we get it over with the quicker the pain is over. For both you and mother." Ithobal never truly cared for his father, but he had to admit that he was a heroic figure that grew into an even better leader. There was much to learn and if he was ever going to stop being a disappointment to his self and others learning would be the first step. "I have a gift for the princess, and I hope she enjoys the gift as much as I hope my sisters do."
I will have a post up by tonight. I have been on a boat for the 4th of July. Sorry for forgetting to let you know.
Lord Ithobal Julius Einther Gully

@All of the Gully family who are waiting to enter Corevial Castle

Ithobal woke up to the gentle waves rocking Leviathan. He had grown accustomed to falling asleep to the gentle waves of the ship, so he had no desire to sleep on shore if it could be avoided. The ship had been a gift from his father, Arthur Gully. It was no doubt an attempt to buy the affection of Ithobal and it was the finest ship he had ever seen. Yet, Ithobal felt this was another expectation placed upon his shoulders by his war hero of a father.

That pressure had been increasing ever since Ithobal learned that his brother became part of the King's Guard and left Ithobal heir to Serpent's Roost and the Quell Sea. He had never wanted this life or expectations placed upon him, and this caused the number of scars on his arms to increase. There were many in his family who felt that Ithobal abandoned his duties to go off to sea, but he just needed to get away from his life if only for a moment. He could not escape the responsibilities, and they dragged him back home. He arrived at Serpent's Roost and found that his family had already left. No doubt that would be another disappointment to Ithobal's father. Just another notch into the belt is the way Ithobal saw it.

Ithobal arrived at the port closest to Corevial Castle a fortnight before the announcement of the king and he needed to make sure that he was actually going to be at the announcement. That is why he was grateful that the sea woke him up early in the morning. He walked up onto the deck of the ship and admired his ship. The ports of the Corevial were starting to awaken and Ithobal could feel that he would be able to make some good money today. He looked around the deck and saw his first mate, Nestor. He was always a close friend and advisor to Ithobal, and he even taught him how to properly sail and handle a trident. The old man was smoking while staring at the ships leaving to go fishing.

"Make sure to get good prices for the wines we have in the cellar, with the celebrations I'm sure we will make a pretty penny," Ithobal told the old man.

"Be careful out there, captain. The people in that city are only after power, and they are willing to kill for it. Remember that the sea is always your friend," the first mate told Ithobal. With that Nestor called for a dingy to bring Ithobal and the goods to be brought to the port. They had to land in the Vaernin Forest before they even had a chance to get close to Corevial. The caravan would have to be well guarded to ensure no trouble, so he hired a small band of mercenaries to ensure the safety of his product. The trip with to the capital was rather uneventful, save for the broken wheel or two.

The castle was truly a magnificent sight to be seen. Ithobal had been here a few times, and every time he was always struck in awe of the beauty of the castle. He was able to rent a small storefront with an a few apartments to attached in order to sell his wares over the days of the celebrations. The beds were much nicer than the one on his ship, but he missed the waves of the sea. This is the life he would have to look forward to and it was probably for best if he became use to living in a castle.

His morning was filled with getting his newly Mount Promonon crafted armor. It was light armor, so he could move quickly with his trident. It would be enough to help him in small skirmishes, while also making sure he would not die from direct attacks. The Hyland's truly had the best in the country, but his trident could only be made by the hands of true seaman of the Quell Sea. The head was crafted from a glimmering steal that was tempered to shine with a hint of blue. The shaft was made from hardened sea stone. As tough as iron, but with a better gripe. It was found only in the Quell Sea and it helped Ithobal remember where his duties now were.

He left to the head to the announcement with a group of four of his best fighters, also in new armor. He wouldn't want to disappoint his father by bringing men that looked like pirates. They could not make it far into the crowd before they could move no farther, and they could barely make out what the King was saying. It was not like he needed to know though; he knew why he was there and the announcement was a little more than a formality.

With the rings of the bells, the crowd started to move and with it Ithobal and his men. Before long he was able to spot his father, his cousin, Tybalt, and at least two of his sisters, Catarina and Myriam. He approached with his men hoping to at least try and make a good first impression on his father. It had been so long since he had seen any of them. He had missed his sisters, and it seemed like Tybalt has moved up in the world.

"Father, it is good to see you again. You look well and I am sure the trip from Serpent's Roost to here was smooth," Ithobal said trying to sound confident. "Tybalt, you look as strong as ever and I have heard you have only become stronger in combat since I have left. Myriam, you look as beautiful as ever, and who is this lady before me? It couldn't be my sister, Catarina, she was just a child when I left. It is good to see all of you, and I have gifts from around the Kingdom for everyone. Are we waiting for Mother and Amelia or should we head in?"
@BuddhaI kinda have to...it'd be awkward if I was just sitting there by myself.
