I dunno, more recent RWBY has been fine. Like last season was a solid overall 8/10 imo with some legit 9/10 or 10/10 episodes.

Personal details

Age: 24

Time Zone: Pacific

Writing Level: Advanced or Casual - I can do either, but I'm not really into going below casual most of the time. Occasionally I can do a one-liner type of RP, but it's not really my thing.

RP Preferences: I can do most RP styles from an aesthetic perspective, but using real people as FCs isn't for me. I also prefer third person RP, but I'm not opposed to first person from time to time. I dislike RPing as canon characters, so any story set in an existing fandom will almost always require original characters for me to be interested. Finally, for 1x1 RPs I prefer writing with people who are 18+ to delve into mature themes as necessary.

Where to Talk: You could private message me on here, or for quicker responses, you could add me on Discord by asking me for it through a PM.

Just a 24 year old guy who enjoys writing, and if other people would like to write with me or read/critique my writing, that's cool too. I'm not good at talking about myself in the general sense, so if anybody wants to know more or needs clarification on something, don't be shy about sending me a private message! Or if you wanna just share mutual interest in a given thing or whatever else, that's fine too!

The first post of the IC has been made! Now, as I do think keeping things orderly is important, I would like there to be a consistent posting order if at all possible. This does not mean that whoever posts first "acts" first in-universe, as everybody in a single round of posting would be doing something at the same time in the timeline. What this does mean though, is that I'd like it if nobody gets skipped in a posting round unless they either consented to it or they haven't posted in over 48 hours. Think I'll add this as a rule too, for future curious eyes.

Anyway, this story currently takes place just before the announcement of the witch hunt, and so this would be only a handful of hours after Lowick's destruction in a camp composed of Saint Reginald's survivors. As this starts at a camp with many people around setting up for the evening, you may begin wherever you wish inside the camp itself! Mingle with each other or with the world, and generally do your best to survive!

Due to there still being characters being made, I will hold off on sending a DM to the traitor working for the Order of Five Spears until after all current confirmed players have made their characters or are no longer interested; the traitor will be chosen via random roll. If new characters aren't submitted by December 1st, I will roll with all current characters as of this writing being the ones eligible for the traitor role.

Ah, and lastly, on the topic of a Discord server? I could just make one, yeah. DM me on here for my Discord tag and for an invite to the server.
Chapter I: The End

Year 1799, March 1st of the Ivorian Calendar

"Those monsters... but the Magic Knights will save us, right?"

A young woman made her way through the grassy hills and stunning landscapes of Lowick's soil. Her eyes were equal parts fiery and fearful, finding herself to be a complete contradiction of a person. Her feet, covered by thick leather boots, stomped upon the terrain with power and force as if she had the physicality and athleticism of a giant in her steps. An average person beholden to her sprint would blink and, upon the brief moment of time in which their eyes were not witnessing her form, they would have found her moving many tens of meters farther. There were flames that charred the grass but did not spread with each footstep, her entire being moving as if she were an archer's arrow set ablaze and moving with intent. If one were to look behind her where she was running away from, they would see a smoldering rubble of a city far off in the distance, a once proud yet fallen castle, and many shapes of varying sizes moving among the destroyed beacon of humanity. Saint Reginald had fallen, and this girl who proudly wore the uniform of a Magic Knights' squire had a job that she would only let herself and no one else see to.

Her body was white hot and burn marks were running across her face and embers ignited in her hair. She had reached the limits of her potential as a magic user, enhancing herself with what her colleagues would refer to as the "Deft Ember". As the flaming ruins that were once inhabited and called Saint Reginald, the jewel of Lowick, faded into the distance and off into the horizon, so too did she look forward towards a sight for sore eyes. She saw flames, but not her own, off in the distance as the setting sun started to allow stars to peek out from the sky above. The caravan that carried Lowick's survivors, guardians and stray adventurers alike was only a few more strides away from her with her overwhelming speed that threatened to suffocate her.

"So close, so close, so close...!", the girl would scream at herself, adjusting her backpack and ensuring that the contents inside that she had rescued from Saint Reginald were still with her - and with a satisfying shake, she sighed with relief knowing that nothing had fallen out in her mad and unrelenting sprint to catch up with her friends in the Magic Knights; she had succeeded in her duty.

The blazing trail of a dedicated squire ended right as she zoomed into the center of the relief camp set up for the night on the side of the road, her fire, loud entrance and subsequent halt threatening to rip up the very ground around her. Her eyes no longer saw the goal, as she knew she had already reached it. "I... I got it. Your Majesty, I've... I've retrieved it.", she would speak aloud to thin air in front of her in the middle of the camp, collapsing to the ground in the muddy soil with her flames extinguished, burn wounds all across her own body from overexertion of magic. She was breathing, but barely.

It wasn't long before Magic Knights would arrive on the scene, but the camp itself was still setting up otherwise. Tents were being constructed, merchant and storage wagons were being unloaded to prepare rations and take stock of survival supplies, hands were being shaken to establish new relationships, and Saint Reginald's regular guards were patrolling while the Magic Knights saw to King Lowick's own personal tent and well-being. The sun was setting, and there were very few smiling faces to go around. Many had just lost their families earlier that day, to some sort of monsters. Monsters nobody had ever seen before, and that shouldn't exist in this world. Rumor had it that the good King Lowick, ruler of a city that no longer existed and territories that would soon be put to the slaughter, would shortly make some kind of announcement. Until then, tensions were high.

During all of this, that was when adventurers would begin to take action. In this camp, awaiting the words of King Lowick or perhaps even just trying to survive in a group, those who could become heroes to save the world would make themselves known and decide what they wanted to do.
So, what's going on with the RP then?

Just waiting on @Skwint and @AdmrlStalfos19

Though I think I will start the IC in 24 hours from now regardless, to get things moving, and then people can make their characters and join later if they haven't finished by then.
Good to go here.
@Tomotaxi

So how are things expected to start btw?

It would start with you guys fleeing from Lowick's destruction as a survivors' caravan lead by King Lowick and his surviving Magic Knights and town guards. We'll be able to start after the last interested people have made their characters. On that note...

@AdmrlStalfos19

ETA on the character?

@Nyther@XAnth@Skwint

Are you guys still interested or nah? It's cool either way.
@VitaVitaAR

Heyo, you wanna be a master-servant pair? I wasn't banking on it happening, but Quinn would kinda be perfect for Mordred as a grail war partnership. lmao
@Aariesa
Approved! Add to "Characters" whenever you're ready. ^.^

So the CS template says that most fantasy races are acceptable to play as...

Would werewolves be one of them, by any chance? I was gonna go either that, or a human that had been bitten by one and thus has to choose between tracking down a cure or accepting the whole lycanthropy shtick, but I can think of something else if that isn't OK.

Werewolf would be acceptable, for sure.

@Ozzoquen@Polaris North@LetMeDoStuff

Looks good! Approved, and you can all add your characters to the "Characters" section when you're ready. ^.^

Hello! I'm interested in joining but I do have a question for regarding making a character coming from Zephyr. How do those from there avoid the poisonous mist? I'm not too clear on if it's just above the skies during the stormy nights or if it reaches the ground too.

Also is using a scythe okay as a weapon? Just want to double check.

Sorry for any confusion. ;;

The mist has different intensities depending on the night, like any weather condition, but it's difficult to predict how intense the mist would be on a given night; though generally it's only dangerous at higher altitudes when in Zephyr. On particularly bad nights though, the most typical way to avoid the mist would be to hide in sealed cellars or basements if you're in civilization, or else find a deep cave network to where you only receive minor exposure to the mist - which may have long-term negative consequences, but you'd survive. A scythe as a weapon is also fine! Anime 'n all.
What is currency like, and are we going to have a limited amount when we start like in D&D?

Hmm, I wasn't thinking about applying any 'true' currency system, but it would be your typical gold and silver coins for the currency in-universe (100 silver = 1 gold, typical D&D style). Most of the special acquirable items will be found out in the world rather than in shops, so more often than not, acquiring magic items won't have a price tag requirement. That being said, a lot of working class jobs would pay silvers hourly, with gold being a bit more premium. Though with the ongoing apocalypse, currency will probably start to matter less and less around the world, and resources or items to bargain with would start becoming more widely preferred.
