i wondered what had happened.

Which will win? Her heart or her duty? An arranged marriage style rp.- closed.

There were two kingdoms at war: the proud Edulon Kingdom and the equally proud Opourranate Empire. The two had been fighting for many years. It has all started when a prince from one royal family had a quarrel with a prince from the other royal family. The argument turned into a physical fight, that resulted in injuries to both parties. Each King blamed the others' son and so the war began. But as was stated, many years have passed since then, and many generations had also passed, and those who had originally been fighting had long since passed away.

One day, when the new King of the Edulon Kingdom, a young man in his 40's, took the throne (40's was the youngest to ever be able to inherit the throne since the previous king had to either retire or pass away themselves before their heir could take over), he had an idea as to how to end the war. He just hoped that the other king, a much older man, would hear him out, hear his idea that is. He wanted to make peace, to end the war as they no longer had any reason to fight. The ones responsible from either side were long gone. But, the other king was stubborn, he did not simply just 'make peace' for no reason. He had to have incentive, something that would give him a reason, or even just an excuse, to agree to make peace with the other kingdom.

And that was when the idea had formed. This young king had a daughter, who was his heir, and his only child. She had just turned 20, he was a young father as his own marriage had been arranged when he was only 19. This king was aware that the oldest king had three sons, one of whom was still unmarried and around his daughter's age. So, he presented his idea to the other king, once he managed to convince the man to speak to him once more. He proposed a union, their kingdoms united through the marriage of their children. The princess and the prince could easily provide a symbol of peace throughout both lands by simply being married, or so he tried to convince the king.

In the end though, the opposing king reluctantly agreed to it. And so, the marriage was arranged. The princess and heir to the Edulon Kingdom was to wed the youngest prince of the Opourranate Empire. The union was to end the war once and for all, and create peace between two soon to be united lands.

The princess was appalled, furious, when she found out what her father had done. Her?! Married to one of those brutes?! She would not even hear of it! She refused to be wed to such a man. The prince she was supposed to marry wasn't too happy about this either, but he seemed to be more the type to follow traditions, and arranged marriages had been an honored tradition in the royal family for many many generations. He may have been angry, but he had a duty to honor, and he would not disobey his father.

The princess, after her father refused to change his mind, determined to see her wed to that prince, was soon pacing in her room, thinking, trying to find a way to get out of the marriage. However, after some thought, she finally realized how selfish she was being. Her people were at war, and this would end it. Her people would no longer be in danger. However, at the same time, she had a desire to marry for love, not to marry some stranger she never even met, someone she did not know.

What was she to do? What would happen now?
