Zoé Flores

Location: Mia & Pia's Pizzeria & Brewhouse.
Interacting With: Aron Brooks (@BlackPanther), Alder James and Damien Flores (@YoshiSkittlez).

Gods, so many things had changed, and so quickly… Everything happened just so... fast, and in a matter of hours, her pack had tripled in numbers. Her side was going to hurt for a week once she finally got her tattoo updated with all the new names. Jonah Muscaratti, James Burke, Sombra Flores… three names; one of which, sadly, was now crossed out… Taken from her just a little over five years ago when she had gotten into a fight for dominance over Klamath Falls. That alpha had taken family from her, and almost managed to take two more before she drove him off… It had been one of the worst nights of her life; one that had been full of danger for all involved, and one that she never wanted to have a repeat of. Hopefully this wasn’t the same alpha...

She had been close… so damn close..! He was right there..! A defeated sigh falling out through her lips at the thought that she had let the rival alpha slip through her fingers, Zoé let a single hand slip from where it had been supporting the keg, her fingers slipping back and disappearing through her long (and now rather wet) dark locks, pushing them back and off her face as thoughts began to plague her mind- this guy had already shown her that he was unafraid to attack the innocent… she couldn’t bring herself to even think about what else it was that he was capable of…

“Hey. Uhm… we made you some stuff.”

That voice… it sounded, familiar. Frowning slightly in confusion as she was pulled from her thoughts, Zoé slowed to an eventual stop, her soft lips parting ever so slightly from one another as she glanced around, her dark gaze eventually landing on one of the very people she had been thinking about moments beforehand. Aron. He was here. How was he here..? She was positive that she had locked the door after Xerxes had left for the night; she herself choosing to stay at the parlor for a few more drinks, though those few seemed to have turned into more than she had first intended.

“..Aron…” Unable to help the smile that played over her lips as her eyes came to a rest on her new son, she turned her body to face him, her grip over the keg shifting slightly so that it was resting more comfortably over her shoulder, a slight surprise crossing over her gentle features as she glanced down into the box, the sight of the sandwich causing her stomach to growl, letting her know just how hungry she really was. Maybe she shouldn’t have skipped dinner the night previous...

“Gage wanted to make something for you since he decided to stay at the hospital...”

“..that’s so sweet of you boys. Thank you, Aron.” Her smile growing wider over her lips, Zoé reached out, taking the box from him and lifting it up so that she could get a better look and smell of what was inside the sandwich that had been made for her. Pot roast..? Mashed potato..? Gravy..? And all of it on sour dough to boot. It smelt amazing, something to finally rival the strong stench of beer that clung to her, and it was clear that after having worked together for so long, the boys knew her so well already, “Argh… oh God, it smells wonderful Aron; seriously, thank you so much for this.”

“Uh… Zoé? Zoé did we open early today?”

The sound of another voice calling out to her, Zoé frowned, lowering the box down to her side as she turned to look back over at the bar; though she couldn’t see who it was calling out to her over the top of the kegs and other memorabilia, she could have sworn it sounded like Alder. Though if she was right, she wasn’t sure why he was here. After coming to the sad conclusion that she had, with help, managed to polish off what was left of the Dopplebock on tap, she’d shot him a message to go pick up more from the brewery. It was one of their more popular beers; one that the regulars adored along with the Screaming Eagle. Running out of it was just not an option for them.

Besides… it was just too early for Alder...

Chalking it down to the fact that she hadn’t gotten any sleep in almost twenty-four hours straight, she let her attention turn back over to Aron, a soft smile returning to her gentle features as she shook her head in answer to his next question. Though help was always welcomed, especially at this time of the morning when she had so much to get done, she couldn’t bring herself to ask that of him. The kids had been through so much already… they needed time; needed each other… she wasn’t going to be the one to say they couldn’t do that…

“Thanks for offering; but I have things covered here. Why don’t you go out and spend some time with your friends..? Or that boyfriend of yours…” Chuckling softly as she heard the sound of his phone beeping in his pocket, Zoé shook her head, her dark eyes watching him lovingly for a moment before she motioned over to the bar where she was sure to be spending a bit of time thanks to needing to change the keg, “If one of those shakes is for me, you can pop it down on the bar. Go spend some time with Cody; maybe even invite him and your friends over for dinner if you want. On the house; anything you guys want.”

Taking a step closer to him, Zoé let her eyes flutter closed, her soft lips pressing softly against his forehead in a gentle kiss before she pulled back, her mind once more turning back to the job at hand as she began back on her path, closing the gap between her and the bar, “Go on; go have some fun today. Just try not to get into too much trouble, and if you need me, call for me. I’ll be there in a heart… beat…”

Stopping dead in her tracks the moment she saw him, Zoé’s grip over the keg failed, the barrel slipping from her arm to instead hit the ground, the wood cracking before shattering completely, causing the liquid within to splash up, once more soaking her through and forcing the smell of beer to fill the air, consuming her sense of smell completely. How was this possible… he couldn’t be here… could he..? Her eyes never once leaving the large figure that was sat at the bar in front of her, Zoé stood frozen, her mind working overtime as she tried to make sense of the sudden situation she had found herself in, and somewhere… somewhere in the back of her mind, she was grateful that her son had left to go be with his friends. Her body shaking lightly, she continued to stare- he was gone… disappeared from her life, just like her niece had done. What-... What the hell was going on here..?

“..Damien…”
@December; yeah, Syl and Seb would have been put in the same hospital room
Loll; I'm working on a Zoé post today xD

Sombra Burke and James Burke

Location: On The Way To Klamath Falls.
Interacting With: Each Other.

The ever familiar scenery flashing by outside the passenger side window was something she never thought she would see again- they had left Klamath Falls for a reason… and now here they were, driving right back to the life that they had left behind. She wasn’t happy; that was clear enough. She didn’t want to go back; it had actually been the topic of their argument that night when James had finally come back home for the night, only to then announce that they had to return back to their hometown.

Needless to say the night had been ruined.

“..this is a bad idea; you know that right..? We screwed too many people over when we left to be welcomed back home with open arms.” Narrowing her eyes, Sombra turned her head, her dark gaze coming to a rest on her husband as he sat behind the wheel of the truck, steering them ever closer to whatever trouble awaited them at the very end of their journey, “This is stupid… five years- five years, James… we stay away, and have no contact; that was the deal.”

It was the one thing that even James had to admit he didn’t see coming, the familiar scenery that was Klamath falls. James remembered it well enough when five years ago they mutually decided to take of and leave to protect the ones they love, thing was, last time the scenery was going in the other direction, but yet here they were driving straight back to the life they left behind and for good reason too. James could tell Sombra was not happy, but he understood why as he was not particularly fond of the idea himself, but James had to… No needed to go back, even after the argument he had with his beautiful wife where had played Zoé’s voicemail for her to listen to.

It contained one of two things he feared most, Miri… his baby sister was involved in a werewolf attack. It only took a few seconds for him to know that his sister was now part of the very world he tried to protect her from, and he wanted to get to one responsible for what was done to her. James sighed a little. “ I know it is, and your right… I don’t like it, probably not as much as you but I have to see her babe, It’s Miri…”

James continued driving the truck closer to their destination, it took every fiber of his being not to go speeding mad into town, but that would bring to much attention. Moving his right hand to gently rest on Sombra’s leg. “I know you are angry with me my sweet, I shouldn't of kept Zoé’s number. But she is our alpha, and our family. If I didn’t then we would never of known of this attack, and that Miranda got hurt. I’m sorry, but it feels like I’ve failed in that duty to my sister.”

“And what about your duty to me..? To your wife..?”

She was being harsh, even she knew that; but she had her reasons. They had swore to one another that they wouldn’t go back… that for the safety of their family, their friends, they would stay away. No contact- that had been his idea in the first place. If they knew how to contact them, then they knew how to find them, and if that happened, then the fact that they had left was all for nothing.

“We have a new life; one that doesn’t involve them, and you know the reason why. We’ve distanced ourselves from them for years… left everyone we cared about behind. You remember how hard that was to do, and now you want us to go back..!” Shaking her head lightly from side to side, Sombra’s long dark locks brushed lightly back and forth over her shoulders, her eyes narrowing and a slight look of disgust gracing her gentle features before she turned her head away, her angered gaze once more turning to the scenery passing by the window, “I never agreed to come; you forced me into this. And on top of that, you ruined everything last night. Do you really expect me to be happy..?”

That hurt. Her initial response to what he had said to her had caused him to stay tight lipped for a moment, nodding slightly acknowledging what she had said, letting her pretty much go to town on him, of course he no doubt deserved it; he broke several things he promised to the woman of his life. Sombra was no… still is his everything, and by no means was it an easy choice or subject to bring up last night, but it never shook for one moment how much he loved Sombra. “Okay... I deserved that.” He replied softly, he knew damn well he'd super pissed her off, and that probably nothing he would say could change that right now.

“My duty to you will never change, I love you with all my heart, and fiber of my being. I will protect you forever and always, and I know it hurt you. In more ways than one, and I won’t ever forgive myself for that.”

James glanced over to his wife for a moment, not wanting to keep his eyes off the road for any longer than needed, He gently squeezed her leg that his hand was on, trying to reassure her as he remembered the intimate candle lit dinner she had prepared, man did he really screw up this time... “I do remember how hard it was, to go and leave those we love behind in order to protect them from what we know; the very thing that almost got us killed… All I want to do is make you happy. No amount of me saying sorry will help make it up to you… I just… didn’t want to leave you alone.” there was a hint to regret and sadness in his voice; he let the love of his life down, even if it was for family, their family.

“Us, James. Make it up to us.” Frowning, and still obviously not pleased with him, Sombra shifted slightly in the passenger seat, her legs crossing over one another as she continued to stare out the window beside her, almost making it seem as though she was refusing to look at him as the two continued to bicker back and forth with one another, their argument seeming to spill through the night and into the morning.

What a great way to spend a five hour drive from Los Angeles to Klamath Falls.

James nodded in agreement “Of course honey; totally agree, I’ll make it up to us, I promise…” James responded like he totally understood what Sombra meant, if only he knew how far he was off the target on this one as he starting actually thinking of the word ‘us’ as she shifted in her seat, and he glanced at his lovely wife once more. “Wait, us… you did mean as in us right? Like you and me us?” he then questioned.

“No.”

Pursing her lips slightly, Sombra shook her head once more, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at his empty promises to her before she turned her attention back around, her eyes meeting with his, holding his gaze as best as she could while he was driving before she continued with what she was saying; the conversation that they were meant to have the night before when she done everything she could to make it special, “No, I didn’t mean us, as in you and me. I meant us, as in me and our child. I’m pregnant, James.”

James listened to what Sombra was saying to him, her response certainly one that he did not expect or was he ready for, especially when one was driving a damn truck for sure, but one that would certainly be perfect music to one's ears as it took several moment for him to actually register what it was Sombra had just told him, like it just went right over his head for the split second. James glanced back and forth between Sombra and the direction he was driving. “Our child..” He said quietly as if it needed repeating as his mind clicked and his eyes widened. “Pregnant? I’m gonna need to pull over” He then added in a much quicker reply and he did just that, pulled over as quickly and safely as possible, hazards on and truck in park he immediately turned towards his beautiful wife, a beaming smile on his face, but one that showed the shock and surprise of what it was Sombra just told him.

He… James Burke was going to be a dad.

Gathering his thoughts for a moment, James gently took Sombra’s hands into his, nothing else mattered right now, in this moment it was like the problems of Klamath were put to the back of his mind. “I… I don’t what to say... “ Gently squeezing her hands. “I going to be a dad…” Tears of joy were swelling up in James eyes as he couldn’t take his eyes of the most beautiful woman in his life.

Forced to turn her attention back to him as he pulled off to the side of the road, Sombra let her gaze fall to their hands before lifting it back up, her dark eyes meeting with his and her soft lips parting ever so slightly from one another as she nodded softly, confirming the thoughts that she knew were swimming around in his mind now thanks to her admission, her legs uncrossing as she turned in her seat to face him just that little bit more.

“..yes… I was going to tell you last night…”

Last night… Yes last night, he remembered it now, in all of that arguing how could he of let that slip his mind? He remembered arriving home after a long day of work, getting that voicemail from Zoé and walking indoors to Sombra having set up an intimate candle lit dinner; everything looked perfect, she looked perfect and yet he went of straight past it ignoring it all because of his panic over hearing the news of Miranda being attacked and bitten by a werewolf. He suddenly realized just how much he screwed everything up last night, it was their moment, her moment to do something special and tell him the most amazing news anyone could hear.

“The candle lit dinner…” he said softly. “I am so, so sorry my love; I screwed up so bad. You mean the world to me and I love you; God I love you so much…” Shifting forward from his seat, James leaned in towards her, his eyes meeting with hers as his lips parted slightly until finally, he leaned in all the way, and his soft lips met hers as James passionately kissed his wife.

The very moment his lips met with hers, her heart stopped, skipping a beat or two before eventually, she lost control of it altogether. The pounding of it against her rib cage fast… loud… and she was more than sure he would be able to hear it clearly, even if he wasn’t particularly listening. Seven years… seven years they had been together, and each time they kissed- each time that he held her in his arms, it felt like the first time.

Her eyes closing as she fell into the action, Sombra pressed her lips further into his, her body leant forward in her seat causing the seat belt to pull against her as it locked into place, trying to keep her sitting upright in her seat. Argh..! Even if she wanted to, she couldn’t stay mad at him… least no longer than a week or so, but even so, there was no way she could stay angry with him over this. They were going to have a baby together- they were going to be parents..! This was something she had wanted to celebrate with him; she didn’t want to fight with him anymore… she couldn’t fight with him anymore...

“..I love you too, James… really, I do… more than anything…”

With his eyes closing when he felt Sombra’s lips pressed into his, James didn’t want to let go or to have this moment end, his mind was still processing everything, but that didn’t change the fact of what was a new revelation; they were going to be a bigger family now, having a baby together was something so special, to be parents, something that could’ve been laughed at almost seven years ago but just thinking of how far they had come was something that would always hold a place in his heart. He was so lucky to have Sombra in his life, and he would not have it any other way. Resting his forehead against her own. “No matter what life throws at us… I will always love and protect you both with everything I have” he said softly.

“..I know…” Her voice soft as she spoke, Sombra nodded her head lightly, never once breaking the contact between them as she responded, letting him know that she understood everything he was trying to tell her. It didn’t matter what happened to them now; they would get through it together… and he would always be there to love… support… and protect her, and their unborn child, “..I know you will, James…”

He couldn’t help but smile at his love when she responded; his responsibilities had increased now. Once more he gently pressed his lips against hers and held it for a few moments, moving one of his hands to gently caress the side of her face before eventually letting go and stopping the moment, he could easily sit here all day and hold her in his arms, but alas, they could not sit on the side of the road all day. Re-positioning himself to get more comfortable, he placed his seat belt back on. Smiling at Sombra once more, James signaled his intent to pull back out onto the road, and when safe to do so he did, continuing on their journey to Klamath falls.

Personal Information

Personality:
A natural born leader, Karena has a gift with charisma and confidence, projecting authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. She is characterised by a ruthless level of rationality, drive, determination and sharp mind to achieve whatever she sets for herself, and others. She loves a challenge, big or small, and she firmly believes that given enough time and resources, she can achieve any goal. Her ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of her plans with determination and precisions makes her a powerful leader. This determination is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, as she pushes through her goals through sheer willpower, where others might give up and move on, and because of her nature, this means that she is likely to push everyone else right along with her, achieving spectacular results in the process.

Karena has a strong and independent survivalist instinct, due to her family heritage and long line of hunters, which gives her an advantage in combat situations, as well in creating complex plans to fight the supernatural. It is this outside the box thinking that allows her to adapt, and change a situation to meet her needs, and to ensure that her goals are met, completely. She is dominant, relentless and unforgiving in negotiations, not because she is cold hearted or vicious per se, its more that she genuinely enjoys the challenge, the battle of wits, the repartee that comes from such an environment, and if the other side can't keep up, that is no reason for her to fold on her own core tenet of ultimate victory. This means that at times she is not socially adept, and has a tough time making new friends due to the emotional strain on her life, due to being a hunter, and the demands of the supernatural world, making her appear hard and cold on the surface.

Though she can be rather blunt and cold, she does have a vulnerable side which she only shows around those that she is close to, and has a rather natural maternal instinct when it comes to kids. If anyone gains her respect, it's someone who is able to stand up to her intellectually, who is able to act with a precision and quality equal to her own. She has a particular skill in recognising the talents of others, and this helps her in her team building efforts, (since no one, no matter how brilliant, can do everything alone) and this keeps her from displaying too much arrogance and condescension. She does however have a particular skill in calling out others failures with a chilling degree of insensitivity and this is when she usually starts to run into trouble.

Emotional expression isn't her strong suit, her distance from her emotions is especially public, and felt directly by a broad swath of people, especially in a professional environment, she will simply crush the sensitivities of those they view as inefficient, incompetent or lazy. It is easy to make enemies with this approach, not that Karena minds. She is very strong and stubborn, rather determined and ruthless to get what she wants, at times crushing others as she goes along, and often she will react first and ask questions later- without worrying about the concerns of others.

She is a true powerhouse, and she cultivates an image of being larger than life, and often enough, she is. She needs to remember though that there stature comes not just from her own actions, but from the actions of the team that props her up, and this is when she knows it is important to recognise the contributions, talents and needs, especially from an emotional perspective of her support network. While she knows not to take things for granted, this display of emotion can be particularly hard for Karena, given that she has come to be a bit self-centered and self-reliant. Although she will sacrifice herself for those she cares about.

She rarely shows her softer side to those that she isn’t close with, a small circle to be sure, by her daughters- for she considers her niece to be a daughter, as she has raised her since she was a child- being two of the few. She would do anything for her girls, as she has a natural maternal instinct that comes out when she is around kids. Highly protective of both of them, they are Karena’s weakest link. She has learned not to take things for granted, her experiences having taught her to appreciate the things she has in life, what she values most, and not take them for granted. This is her girls, first and foremost, and they are perhaps the only things that keep her strong.

Her greatest hope, her greatest dream, is that one day she will just be able to enjoy the simple pleasures of being a mother, and wife, although being a hunter is something she knows she will be for life.

Hobbies:
Karena's hobbies pretty much evolve around her professions of being a hunter and the owner of the National Fitness and Racquetball Club. Karena jogs and exercises regularly while sparing time to do cardio and light weight lift exercises at her gym along with archery and racquet ball.

| Strengths |
♦ Karena has a wide range of skills in both long and short ranged combat, and weaponry, particularly archery. This has come from long training, over many years, due to her hunter family status, she was trained to fight from a very young age, to give her the best chance at being a skill hunter.

♦ Karena has an extensive knowledge of the Supernatural, having her families bestiary, which she has studied since she was a child, Karena knows of many types of Supernatural creatures, and with a network between other hunters, she has access to more knowledge, should she come across something she knows nothing about.

♦ Her girls are perhaps her greatest strength, keeping her going when all else seems lost, she does what she does for them, to keep them safe and happy.

| Weaknesses |
♦ Her girls are perhaps her greatest weakness, they are what makes her vulnerable, and she will do anything for them, extremely protective of them both.

♦ highly stubborn, it often becomes hard to change her mind. Nearly all the time.

♦ Occasionally, she'll allow her emotions to get the better of her, which can have rather disastrous consequences.

History:
Although Karena is a capable leader and fierce hunter, she doesn't always get the perfect strategies and tactics considering most thing go to hell when the supernatural are concerned, but few hunters are as honed in combat as her. She's been taught skills with the usage of a whole host of various types of weapons, armor and ammunition. It isn't until she discovered the bow that her true abilities as a hunter come to fruition though. With guidance and training from a previous hunter in her younger years, her marksmanship is deadly in its precision and accuracy, allowing her to truly defend herself and others quietly and from a distance. Karena is a notorious hunter from the D’Nile family, known for her deadly precision, she shows these skills in not only the bow and arrow but in long-ranged weaponry and other target-shooting-based activities where it is rumoured she has never missed her target when dealing with a bow and arrow.

Karena has a mutual understanding of protecting Klamath Falls with an unlikely individual, Zoé does protect it in her own way as a pack alpha. This mutual understanding has since grown into respect when over a month ago Zoé came to her house late in the night covered in blood and physically upset when she was forced to defend herself from being slaughtered by a hunter, Karena naturally did what any hunter would do first and checked her eyes to see any signs that the one the Alpha had killed was an innocent… Her eyes were not blue, this meant the hunter was rogue and not innocent. Karena helped Zoé get cleaned up, check for any signs of injury and get her a set of fresh clothes. The hunter came to learn a little bit about Zoé, that she was different, however the hunter was still weary.

The Other

Although Karena is currently in a long-term relationship with Darien, the father of their Daughter Emilia. The stress of the relationship is at breaking point after years of constant fighting over trivial things and Cleo’s behavior, with the hunter choosing the Dhampir over her partner along with keeping secrets of the supernatural world from him, This has caused Darien accuse her of not being loyal as they generally do not spend as much time together anymore like they used to, this has really broken it down. God help the guy when she finds out how he has been treating Cleo behind her back...

D'Nile Household.

Theme Song

Rag'n'Bone Man - Human.

"Maybe I'm foolish,
Maybe I'm blind
Thinking I can see through this
And see what's behind
Got no way to prove it
So maybe I'm lying

But I'm only human after all,
I'm only human after all
Don't put your blame on me
Don't put your blame on me"
