Alright all! I'm going to be preparing, and maybe posting, the very first IC entry for our game tomorrow (Tuesday latest, hopefully) so that we can begin the Threshold of Knowledge adventure!

We're moving forward with one adjustment to the line up to our cast of heroes. We'll be swapping out @Cao the Exiled for @Cleveraptor as we begin our adventure. I'll take this moment to underscore one of our rules to stay in the game: Please touch the IC (in this case, the OOC) board at least twice a week! I'm not going to come down with a hammer, so please just pop me a message before a week has gone by, but if you go MIA we'll need another player to swap in. There's no hard feelings, we just want to keep the story rolling.

@apheline you're on deck should we lose one of our players!

Here's the rest of our line up:

Cast of characters:

Please let me know if I have an outdated Character Sheet for your character!

Cleveraptor, please take a moment to introduce yourself and your character to the cast!
Almost there...

Alright all, we'll get a finalized list of who will be playing in the game this weekend. I'm thinking latest by Sunday evening (I'm Pacific Los Angeles time zone) I'll post a list of the five heroes starting out on the Threshold of Knowledge adventure. Once we have that list and we've checked off session zero introductions for everyone, we'll get the adventure underway.

I'm actually running this same adventure tomorrow in person, but with a world of Harry Potter's Hogwarts theme. I'm excited to run it and see how it turns out over four or so hours. I'll report back, and we'll kick off our own Threshold of Knowledge sometime next week!
@clanjos Awesome, I went ahead and added you to the wait list here and on the first post in OOC. Since you've been reading along, you know the drill.
Welcome @apheline! I hope we get to write together!
@Digizel Just so you know, there's no requirement to play a caster in Threshold of Knowledge. Characters from any class are welcome to participate. The story is instigated on a premise of "these characters want to learn how to wield some kind of magic" but that's not required for any background (in fact, we'll need a balanced party).

Thanks for your opinions on the 48 hour response.
@Digizel Fantastic. I'll copy/paste the same spiel I just gave to another player who literally just expressed interest before you via PM:

If you're keen, go and familiarize yourself with the first post in the OOC to make sure you're okay with everything there. Feel free to ask me any questions here.

Mosey on over to pathbuilder2e.com and create a character sheet for yourself. In the "Details" tab, please include at least a few sentences of background. Right now, nothing is really off limits for character creation, so feel free to experiment.

Lastly, make sure to let me know if there's anything you wouldn't want to see portrayed in the game.

The current waitlist looks thusly:

1. @Cleveraptor
2. @apheline
3. @Digizel
4. @clanjos

EDITED to add Clanjos to the above.

By the way, to any lurkers, we're still open to anyone joining our wait list in case one or more of the opening 5 heroes drops out of the adventure.
@rush99999 Thanks for chiming in here. Just waiting on @Cao the Exiled.

Since we have buy in from 4/5 players, I'm going to institute it as a rule.

I'll move option two to our rules section in the first post:

Storyteller will post at least once every 2 days. Players will have 48 hours to respond.

Just curious @cleveraptor would you be amenable to this rule, should you be called to tap into the story and join the heroes?
Alright, so three out of five players are on board and vote for option 2.

Since I'm keen to keep the story going, I'm good with option 2 as well.

Let's hear @rush99999 and @Cao the Exiled's opinions on the matter.
As a side note to all players:

@PatientBean@meri@rush99999@Frog Dog@Cao the Exiled

I was reading about the Pathfinder society (an official group by Paizo, the makers of Pathfinder) that they do Play by Post games officially on their message boards online. They're about to kick off a session and they mentioned timing specifically like this:

The Storyteller will post once a day, and players have about 24 hours to respond.

I don't know how everyone's schedules align, and just from watching engagement in the interest checker and here in the OOC, it may be too quick for players, but how would you feel about adopting a same or similar approach to ensure the game doesn't drag on?

Options:

1. Storyteller will post once a day. Players will have 24 hours to respond, or the story will move on without their character responding.
2. Storyteller will post at least once every 2 days. Players will have 48 hours to respond.
3. Storyteller will post at least once every 3 days. Players will have 72 hours to respond.

We don't have to go with any of these, by the way. We can do this organically instead, but with some kind of guard rails like these, it might stop the story from grinding to a halt if one person doesn't check RPG.
