Eltariel

Eltariel smiled, turning away briefly. The man here- she would have to ask his name- was a humble one. She liked that. Still, she wasn't sure how to feel. She'd never really needed help before.

"Well...coincidence or not. I'd still be over there were it not for your intervention." She aimed a thumb over her shoulder at the corpse in the snow. Indeed, he didn't know about elves, but that was to be expected given he was from another world entirely. It was impossible to know where he came from. This lack of knowledge was startling, and it was truly a humbling thought to know that there were countless histories just as complicated and layered as her own. Somewhere out there. Could there be another Eltariel? Or perhaps an Eltariel that hadn't make the mistakes that she had? A Middle-Earth where Sauron stayed defeated? It was impossible to know.

She tried not to let herself get too distracted on the abstract, cosmic factors at play and instead focus on the current situation at hand.

"Yes. Without the Tower, I cannot return to the land of the living in another body. A preposterous luxury for some, but in my line of work it is desperately needed." She admitted.

"What's your name?" She asked after a moment. Eltariel had turned her head away from him at this point and was idly scanning the tree line for any sign of the warlord or any other number of threats.
Chloe Bridgette Cakebread-Yonaka

Somewhere, a violin sings a sweet, sad song.

Chloe's eyes flash open and she snaps back to the world of the living. They scan the environment wildly, and her brain screeches back into gear as she remembers who she is and what she is doing. Her arm clutches at her shoulder, but the wound is gone. All healed up, like it wasn't even there. Her shoulder is a bit less muscular than she remembered but it's a small price to pay for not dying. That must have been what that little Stand Taras had could do. Heal people? She wasn't dead!

She wasn't dead, and she could still fight. Her face was pale and her energy was sapped, but her mental fortitude was as strong as ever. She extended a hand upward and Ritz, that behemoth wooden, brass, and porcelain doll that had been there all her life, materialized and hoisted her to feet. The smile returned to Chloe's lips. She knew what she had to do.

Chloe turned and looked to the fort, hidden behind trees. Somewhere, a sniper was watching. She was mostly likely already in that nazi bastard's side.

"Go on, Ritz. Gimme Winston." Chloe asked of her stand quietly, voice ragged, smile weak but genuine. Quickly, Ritz used it's long arms to unhook the smoke bomb disk from the gramophone and slot another inside. Before her, materialising from static, a Churchill tank hummed to life. Ritz walked behind it, having to crouch down in order to be comfortably concealed behind the tanks body. It thrummed to life and began to tread forward, making steady progress toward her destination. Ritz began to hum a little melody, it's voice warm, analogue, distant.

Tupolev had just been caught by a net. The enemy had laid out devious traps, it seemed. No worries, Chloe thought, leaning on the tank for support. She just had to line this up right. Fortunately, Puttin' on the Ritz was a fairly precise Stand, and she had a lot of practice back in training with aiming her discs. With a satisfying wooden clunk, Ritz removed the steel plate disc from the storage device mounted in her back.

It stepped out from behind the tank and threw it like a frisbree with speed and precision. "Don't move, comrade!" Ritz called out in a terrible Russian accent, breaking away from it's song. It sounded just like Chloe, but a recording of Chloe. The actual Chloe snickered to herself from behind her tank, pleased with herself. Chloe owed Tupolev everything at this moment- the least she could do was repay him by making sure he didn't catch a bullet.

The disc zoomed through the air where it snapped and shattered against the wire keeping Tupolev suspended. The wire was cut, but the disc broke in the process, which was Yonaka's plan. Materializing in the air was a free and half foot tall, five feet wide reinforced metal plate that looked like it belonged on the side of a troop transport. Gravity pulled it downward, but since it was recorded to be buried in the ground, it remained steadfast and upright as it plummeted down along with the unlucky Russian caught in the devious, gruesome trap.

It slammed into the ground, still upright, cutting through some of the looser parts of the net as it did so. It was heavily bullet resistant and would give Tupolev ample cover to cut himself free of any already damaged net. The tank continued it's advance. As it did so, it began to blindly spray pre-recorded bullets into the tree line.

"Sorry, Lilliane," Ritz apologised with a cheeky grin, turning away from Tupolev to glance at the french woman. "But I'm guessin' our cover was already blown, yeah?" The seven foot tall behemoth of a Stand shrugged, and then frowned as it began to concentrate on the battle ahead. Chloe, in her weakened state, was utilizing the booming potential of her Stand's voice to broadcast it's staticky message across the cacophany of battle. No doubt, though, the Stand shared the same mannerisms as it's user, who walked behind the tank with one hand on it's rear, whipping her head back and forth.

With that, the steel barrier was removed from her arsenal, but she could always record something else in it's stead. Besides, the last thing they needed was more people taking a bullet. Kiara seemed to have not done so well, but she was outside of Ritz' range to help. Hopefully she would be okay- she was the only one that didn't seem to mind Chloe's company.

Overall, Chloe was just happy to be alive and be back in the fight. While she did not partake in happiness from suffering, or violence, like everyone she enjoyed victory. She thought she would have to retire from being a soldier, which would probably ruin her life. Of course, Chloe came much closer to death than she realised. Either way, it was good to know she wouldn't be going home. Not yet.

The british woman had surmised that they were going up against a Stand that aided it's user in firing bullets. No one could have hit that shot through the smoke without being able to see through it. It was a single, precise shot. Not the surpressive fire of an entire squad. Had that been the case, Chloe would have summoned the barrier infront of herself and taken cover. The tank wouldn't be as useful if they were being surrounded by an enemy gun team, since it always trudged forward. Not to mention anti-tank weaponry could still destroy the projection and damage people around and near it. But, against a single sniper position with anti-personnel traps? The way she saw it, it was their best shot. Whatever the others had, they clearly didn't have a Stand capable of effeciently defending themselves from the devious traps that sniper twat had set up. So it was up to the wounded Chloe to push forward.

"We're pushin' up!" Ritz called out, her fist enthusiastically pounding on the Churchill's steel surface.
waiting for him ^
this could be fun!
Clara Cabello and Alejandra Jonas

September 9th

"Tch," The young woman dismissed Osborne's short, shitty speech with a derisive sneer. "He doesn't care about us." Clara leaned down to Alejandra and whispered to her, condenming the mayor. AJ opened her mouth to say something but her face fell as Osborne left the stage after a paltry, sickly speech.

"What happened?" AJ asked disappoited and confused, raising an eyebrow

"I'll tell ya what happened. He's probably been shootin' himself up with cocaine and enjoying the benefits of his illegal sex cabal. You know how rich people are, AJ." Clara said, unknowingly garnering some annoyed or disgusted looks from some of the people near her.

AJ didn't say anything and watched as the mayor left the stage. She stuffed her hands at the pocket and kicked in the dirt. As the speech went on, now being held by the assistant lady, AJ laughed mirthlessly. "Oh, wow. They got the cops to give up their pension as if Osborne couldn't fund the entire thing with his pocket change. That's fucking rich."

Clara smiled, finding it funny, but then realised that AJ didn't think it was very humorous at all. She was grumpy again. Alejandra had dragged her sister all the way out here and from AJ's point of view, it turned out her older sister was right. This whole thing was a waste of time. Normally Clara finds joy in being right, since her younger sister is usually the correct one, but this time it rang hollow. Maybe because AJ was actually trying to contribute to something selfless and altruistic for once and it disappointed her. But Clara wasn't sure what she was expecting...of course it would play out like this. "Hey, AJ..." Clara began, a tenderness creeping into her voice.

But then Clara blinked hard and glanced around. "We gotta go."

AJ nodded slowly. "Yeah, sure. Let's get out of here-"

"No, seriously, we have to go, now." There was a protective intensity in her voice. Clara grabbed Alejandra by the arm and lowered her head, beginning to force her way through the crowd. She earned a few stares but she muscled through them with a strength not usually possessed by a person her size. Clara was sweating, one eyebrow quirked, teeth grit.

AJ glanced around, being literally dragged by her sister, Clara posessing a supernatural strength. "Cl-Clara? What's going on?" Clara shook her head. "I don't know." The latina's heart was pounding in her chest. It was an impossible to describe feeling, but if Clara were to try she would describe it as such:..it was like muscle memory for things that hadn't happened yet.

Instinctual yet practiced, recognizable but wholly unfamiliar. All she knew for sure was this: something terrible was about to occur and she didn't want to be around to see it.

Too late. The ground began to rumble. Alejandra's eyes widened along with everyone around her. Clara was moving too fast, AJ didn't have the powers that she did. AJ tripped, and fell, and the world was on fire. "Clara!" AJ called out, frightened. People began to scream and scatted, loved ones carrying loved ones. Clara huddled over AJ and tried to pick her up. Damn it. She wasn't being careful enough. Someone stepped on her hand but Clara didn't even react.

Clara wanted to just lash out and start punching people, but that would only make things worse. There were cops nearby, and someone could fall on AJ. She began to pull AJ to her feet, the crowd parted around the fallen pair. For a moment, everything cleared. There was suddenly no one around except Clara and twelve other people. Eyes wide, the redhead glanced up and saw the others. Was someone speaking to her in her head? It was that one. Clara's head whipped toward Scott, her ponytail trailing behind.

"Don't panic. You're not alone."

"Fuck off," Clara said in her head and whispered under her breathe, not kwowing whether or not the pyschic guy could hear her. These people had powers like her. And for a brief moment Clara spotted the back of someone's head, someone that looked utterly familiar. That girl. That jogger that fell down the stairs. It was her. She had powers. She could break the ground with a single step.

"Come on." Clara said, picking AJ up, who had been looked up at her sister as she whipped her head to and fro like a deer caught in headlights. AJ began to run after Clara but briefly turned around, spotting some people that looked quite unusual. Either way, Clara was moving quite fast. The powered sister was under the impression she was moving at light jog, and her movements would correlate with that, but AJ's sneakers were pounding against the cement as she was running full sprint just to keep up. Clara planted her foot on the ground and AJ came skidding to a stop, almost falling over again, breathing heavily.

"Really gotta work on your cardio, AJ." Clara remarked.

"Fuck you!" AJ said, breathless, light-hearted, terrified of whatever was going on over there. The police were directing people somewhere but AJ knew that Clara wasn't going with them. Only this time, Clara had fucking superpowers. AJ's sunglasses were steaming up and falling off the bridge of her nose and she looked even more disheveled than usual.

"Okay, fuck it. We're getting out of here." Clara reached her hands around AJ's waist.

"Clara, wh- woah!" AJ exclaimed, expressing her surprise as she was hoisted over her older sister's shoulder, and AJ's face flushed red with embarassment, clutching her hands onto Clara's orange crop top. With that, she began to make her escape, and AJ watched in awe as the ground began to rush beneath Clara's feet faster than she had previously thought possible. Clara began to make her way to the back of the fleeing crowd, and her eyes scanned for a way around them...or over them.
Chloe Bridgette Cakebread-Yonaka

Chloe had felt herself dying, her vision beginning to tunnel and blur. Her heart rate had spiked but her pulse was weak. Clammy cold skin. the leather jacket wrapped around her waist had been soaked with blood as it ran down the front and back of her shoulder. Finally, the smile had faded from her face and been replaced with a look of numb confusion.

Ritz looked down at her fading hands before completely vanishing, the Stand aura around Chloe sputtered to life. The british woman sagged against the tree, her hand falling limply away from the wound. It didn't take long at all for the bright red arterial blood to leave her and her life to truly begin ending. Thin white, almost invisible strands of smoke began to emanate off of her. Fuck, she thought. How embarassing. Bugger. I'm sorry, Mom. I'm sorry, Dad. I just want to make you proud.

Someone called her Yonaka and she glanced lazily over to see Tupolev and his Stand. It was a scuttly little robot. Kind of cute, kind of scary looking. Yonaka glanced down and saw the Stand approach, Tupolev giving her a warning.

It stuck a needle in her. It had crawled behind her, wedging itself between the tree and her bare back, where it stuck a needle in her torso. "Whuh...?" She barely felt it, but she certainly felt what came next. Yonaka's skin began to stretch and maneuver itself. The entire area around her shoulder shortened as the flesh knitted itself back together to stop the bleeding on both ends, prioritizing the exit wound first. It was very briefly a horrific pain, and she certainly would have struggled against it for she had no idea why Tupolev was tortung her so. But instead her eyes rolled up into her head, fluttering shut in the process, and she slumped to the side with a huff, falling unconscious against the tree. The thin white lines stopped emanating and her chest rose and fell slowly with breath. She was alive, stable, but inert.
DIO

DIO watched the fellow vampire leave and immediately began to monologue to himself again. "An interesting encounter. What are the chances that I, DIO, were to meet another vampire lord upon my arrival here in the Crossroads?" He smiled, chuckling to himself.

"Of course, I already know the answer. Mere chance had nothing to do with it. I believe in 'gravity.' I know I am but a few short years away from the discovery of the truths of the universe, but first I must escape the Crossroads and eliminate the last remnants of Jonathan's disappointing bloodline." DIO briefly run his hand along the porceclain skin of his left shoulder, underneath his jacket and skin-tight top.

"Night has fallen. I shall leave soon." He picked up the glasses and placed them normally in the sink. After a moment he glanced down and tried the handle of the sink a few times. No running water. "Unfortunate. Internal plumbing is my favorite invention of the new century. That or...perhaps television, though it often lacks the substance or knowledge contained in books. Not to mention the infernal commercials that plague the air ways. Video rentals are hard to come by, aswell. Tomes remain the greatest reserve of human knowledge, thousands of years after man first put quill to paper. Such simple things are eternal, much like I, DIO."

DIO ascended to the roof of his mansion. Passing by his wardrobe, he commanded the doors to open, and they did so. From within he drew a flowing red cape that wrapped around his shoulders and trailed behind his right shoulder. He emerged from the rooftop access and stood, arms crossed, cape fluttering in the dusk breeze and observed the environments. He cut quite the dramatic figure.

"This place fascinates me. If I did not have more important business to attend too back on my Earth, perhaps I would study it further to lean it's secrets. But I am so close to greatness. I must return to Egypt. Thus, I shall collect the required tokens by any means necessary. I doubt the inhabitants are as powerful as someone like Dracula, merely due to the fact they are not eternal beings. Even still, with the power of the ultimate Stand I can defeat anyone foolish enough to challenge I, DIO. Perhaps there are new followers here that I can recruit to my cause, or maybe I can avoid petty conflict and coerce people to give me their tokens without tearing them asunder." DIO considered his thoughts aloud and looked for movement. A directionless search like this had no rush. He had just as much chance to see someone standing on the roof as he did while on the move. Thus he could take all the time he wanted and move with the practiced grace an eternal Lord like himself deserved.

DIO was an impossible to miss figure, striking a menacing pose, a shadow on the skyline of the old blank city, his ancient mansion radiating a kind of alluring evil that drew one into it's sickly sweet maw.

Eltariel

Eltariel smirked a little as the odd man seemed to look her up and down. But his words confirmed it- this was the one and the same creature that saved her life. Well, that was an odd way of putting it. He saved her tower, that is. That was the most important part. He sniffed, which was...weird. But who was she to talk? She hadn't had a normal conversation in what felt like a thousand years. Unless she counted Talion and Celebrimbor, but...those two were a certainly odd pair and she handled them extremely poorly.

When he asked who she was, she thought she would oblige. "My name is Eltariel. And no, I'm not human. I'm an elf." Perhaps elves did not exist where he came from. She knew for certain that beings like him did not exist on Middle-Earth, so it was fair guess to make. She pulled down her hoodie a little bit to show off her pointed ears a bit more clearly. Much more angular and sharp than the rounded stumps humans had.

"I suppose, if you are indeed that large creature, I should thank you again. You saved me. I mean...I died," She glanced over her shoulder at her own corpse laying face up in the cold grass. Then she turned to the scale-dressed man and addressed him with a sincere gratitude. "...but that's not really an issue for me. The Silver Tower is what's important. You scared off that vile warlord and his minions. So thank you. Thank you very much. I owe you everything." She concluded.

@Randomness alright cool. i wish you the best, you're a great GM from what I can tell. thanks for hosting it!
