Skidding across the water with a hiss, Sakura blinked away the dazzling light. Standing up straight she took stock of her new self in a matter of moments. Her glove handed frantically patted various parts of her body, brushing her ears and hair, biceps, thighs, briefly pausing over her chest, she blushed. Sakura lifted up her newly-lengthened sleeves and flexed her muscles.

"Aw, no! My BMI!" She whined in dismay at the sight of her softened arms. She was at least 15% less buff! Her hair was also longer, and she had a couple of bows, one around her waist and one in her hair. Headband and bow. Overall the new outfit was actually pretty cool, even if it was a bit...girly? It still looked like her fuku in a lot of ways, though.

She reached up and patted her cat ears, and then fiddled with her tail. "Oh, man. I'm glad this is temporary. I don't wanna be a cat girl." She bemoaned.

Fortunately, she knew Peach would be able to restore her to her school girl form after this battle. Unfortunately, her minor concerns with her appearance wouldn't keep her distracted for long. She and the evil Water Princess made eye contact. Sakura refocused her energies on the badass aspects of her transformation.

For one- she was WATER WALKING! (AWESOME!) Affixed to her back was a harness of guns! Big ones! Little cannons! She bet those packed a punch. Sakura clenched and unclenched her fist. The operation of the harness became second nature, no doubt the skill of it's previous user. Or rather, in a way, it's current user. The shipgirl would live on in her, for now.

Sakura tightened her lips and stared back at the Water Princess. "I won't be intimidated by you! Leave us alone!" Sakura declared her intentions, voice firm.

One of the ship girls combined with an ugly Abyssal ship and came to help Sakura cover the rest of their retreat. (Now I'm REALLY glad Peach can remove Spirits. I'd hate to look like that forever. But, she doesn't even know that...wow. She's brave!)

Just as Sakura prepared to battle the oncoming formation of ships and their leader, a new challenger entered the battle. Sakura gasped in surprised as she recognized the cloaked woman from Inkwell Isle. Her eyes watered up and she beamed.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before! We'll both be stupid together- how's that sound?" Sakura shouted. As the cloaked lady attacked the fleet, Sakura narrowed her eyes at the pallid faced woman who took satisfaction in the slaughter of others. It looked like she would have a brief opportunity to have a proper street fight. One on one! While she was a novice at shipgirl-to-shipgirl combat, she had powers the others didn't. Like being able to punch really hard! At 15% less effective, her strength level felt like it did when she was 17. Not bad- she could still beat Zangief.

"Hey, everyone!" Sakura called into her radio. Hopefully she was put through to the entire navy. "Um, run away! I'll cover you!" She said to the other ship girls. Her ideal plan was to get the Water Princess to stop her pursuit. Or at least give her enough of a beating that she would reconsider the fight. Sakura wasn't trying to win, she was trying to bring this fight to a draw so both parties could leave. Their team would come back with new knowledge. And (hopefully) thanks to Sakura's interference, more boat people to be friends with.

With that, she leaned forward, and began to carve through the ocean's surface. The speed was exhilarating. She felt much safer and in control than she did on the Atomos. Sakura was quickly approaching the temporarily downed Water Princess. That pistol shot had given her an opening! Normally, she would only want to participate in a fair fight. But she wasn't some honor bound warrior by any means, so if someone needed a kick in the teeth she would be happy to give it to 'em!

As Sakura sailed forward, she punched out her arms. In a series of accompanying quick jabs, she fired off her new turrets and cannons and at Water Princess. They were loud, and felt powerful. She wasn't used to using weapons other than her fists and feet.

She was using them like fireballs to cover her approach. Even if the Water Princess dodged them, it would give her less time to react to whatever Sakura did when she got close. She wasn't sure how physically powerful WP was, but in her experience if you could shoot big lasers from your hands you were more likely to be a push over when things got up close and personal.

As Sakura got within fifteen feet, she jumped into the air. On the downward arc of her jump she swung her leg outward towards the Water Princess's head. She landed on the ocean dextrously. When that hit she would launch into a series of three quick abdomen punches. The combo culminated in a fourth double-fisted uppercut, her hands interwined together to collide with the Water Princess's jaw with a crack and a spark of Ki.

As for her defence, Sakura took a regular standing stance. She imagined the Water Princess would attack from straight on, or from above. Sakura doubted she would attack her knees, or try to grapple her. So Sakura was prepared for strikes from that big tail of hers, or her hands.

Her main focus wasn't on defense, anyway. She felt like the Water Princess was going to try and use her speed to disengage and fly away and start shooting lasers. Running forward was always easier than running backward. Sakura was just looking for that moment of retreat to leap in and punish the attempt with a series of jabs. Maybe even snag that metallic tail if she made the mistake of turning her back on Sakura too early! She always had to think ahead. If her assumptions were wrong, she would re-evaluate.

Either way, the main attack here was her cannon fire approach, and then jumping kick into punch combo. The Water Princess wasn't just dealing with some anthropomorphised destroyer-class naval vessel! She was messing with a Street Fighter!

Outside of Winton --> Into the Cave

Dareen raised an eyebrow and smiled- it was something of a cringe- at the words Sybl spoke. She certainly had an effect on people. Fatima had her respect, but it was clear she had these men's-

Dunny seemed to put it best. They get very snarly. Daren looked at Thom and Dunny and nodded. "You're probably right. I'm gonna get involved." Dareen looked over her shoulder at Thom, briefly making eye contact, before walking into the brewing confrontation.

Exhaling, Dareen took steps into the cave and came more clearly into view of the confrontation. Mikhail and Jandar had there backs to her. There was a fire inbetween them and a Warlord Prince, who's back was against the wall. Fatima was in his grasp, but she didn't seem like she was being kidnapped.

Dareen appeared in Fatima's vision, a little farther back, and between Jandar and Mikhail. The energy in here was different. Everyone here was wrapped up in something. It was beginning to feel like her and the little ones were the only level-headed people here. Fortunately, Jandar and Mikhail seemed to be cool negotiators, even under pressure.

She heard the tail-end of Fatima's apology. But it was kind of hard not to be a little worried when there was a dangerous looking man with his arms wrapped around her. Dareen sought eye contact with Fatima and shrugged pointedly, eyes widening. 'Well?' her facial expression said. The stranger seemed very violent, but protective of Fatima. Which was strange, because that was supposed to be their job.

"We're good here, right? Pretty sure we're all on the same team." Dareen wagered, wading into the whirlpool with her words.

Sakura swerved around as Junior instructed her to close the bay doors. "Can't you do that from up there!?" She shouted, now beginning to look around for buttons to press. But she realised that Junior was intent on retreating. Those ship girls- she didn't see much, but she could tell they were losing the fight. The enemy fleet, particularly that all white woman, was beginning to destroy them. Sakura had never been in a real, all out battle like this, and she felt fear well up inside her. For a moment she backed up from the cargo bay opening, her hands drawn into her chest.

Kamek rushed in. "I...I guess there's nothing we can do." Sakura said, dejectedly. Her heart was once again heavy with the idea of making sacrifices in the name of the greater good. This encounter might just prove that The Maw was their only way forward. The ship girls would be destroyed. One day these monsters might even reach Limsa town and destroy the whole thing. She felt powerless and bitter. Her fists clenched. Two snipers appeared to cover their retreat.

An orb was brought into the ship. By one Kamek's minions. Sakura snatched the orb up and held it in her glove hands. She didn't know this girl. Didn't know her name. But everything that was left of her in this world was in her hands. Sakura knew how the spirits worked. She had been filled in in Smash City, and in her Galeem influenced travels had picked up knowledge about these objects. Her eyes began to shimmer wet. The image of the ship girl was free of Galeem's influence. She had died because of Galeem. She had friends, out here on this very sea. Sakura had before this moment been scared of the puppets of this world. But they were still willing to fight to protect the things they cared about it. Even if this whole world was all topsy turvy, evil still existed, and evil still needed to be vanquished.

Sakura had never been a hero before, but there was a first time for everything. Princess Peach had told her that things were going to work out. And most importantly, she could never imagine Ryu walking away from a righteous battle that needed fighting. If he was here, he would probably tell her to stay back and go himself.

(But Ryu isn't here. I am. I have a chance to do the right thing. Besides, even if Ryu was here...he would probably look really stupid in a dress with cat ears! HOWEVER, I CAN PROBABLY PULL IT OFF!)

She glanced back at Geralt, Kamek, and Junior, eyes shining. "I'm going down there. I'm gonna help them escape." Sakura said. With that, she pressed the spirit into her chest and became one with the spirit of the fallen sailor.

As she transformed Sakura dove towards the closing cargo bay door. She transitioned into a roll. Finally, she propelled herself up and out. Spreading her limbs out wide she slowed her fall.

"Se~~~no!" She cried out, wind rushing past her ears. As she reached the surface of the water, she pivoted her legs down to catch herself, and hopefully, skid across the ocean's surface like a water strider bug.

Chloe Bridgette Cakebread-Yonaka

Chloe shook her head as Alouise told her sad tale. She furrowed her eyebrows and once again tried to get comfortable in her seat. After a moment she rose. She placed her cigarette between her lips and inhaled, exhaled, letting the calming fumes filter through her systems. These Nazi punks really did get her blood boiling. And unfortunately, they're trip so far has seriously suffered from a total lack of Nazi ass-kickig. Besides some brainwashed goons they haven't been able to get their hands on the scrawny necks of the REAL baddies. Like that ballerina bitch, or an SS officer.

Taras seemed to have a good idea, and Chloe soon came to agree with him. She plucked the cigarette from her lips and looked sadly down at Alouise.

"I'm sorry, luv. I wish we could stay, but we gotta job to do." She rubbed the back of her neck. After a moment, she stood straighter.

"Rest assured, someday we'll come sweepin' through town like a broom sweeps dust and dead roaches off a once polished floor. These bloody parasites- we'll pop 'em like ticks. The thing with ticks though is that you gotta be careful and thorough." She held the cigarette in her lips and mimed pulling a tick off her arm. "Otherwise, the head gets stuck." The metaphor felt right to the british woman.

"And you...you're brave, Alouise. I dunno if it means much, but I'm glad you're here." Chloe smiled genuinely.

Sakura was right alongside Geralt that the debate of his use of swearing quickly became forgotten. The situation evolved rapidly, and Sakura found herself somewhat frozen in indecision. She wasn't sure what to do or where to go. She knew they weren't supposed to get directly involved in the fight. So she hovered by Junior and Geralt, holding onto a handle bar to assist in keeping herself steady. Suddenly she was in the middle of a warzone.

"What should we do? What should I do?" She asked. Her heart was beating. She wasn't afraid, just unsure. The last thing she wanted to do was be a liability or be useless. She stayed in the bay, wondering if any of their abyssal enemies would somehow assail the Atomos directly. She would be able to fend them off, then.

Kamek was gone quickly, and Junior had his minions open the cargo bay door. They began firing out to the water below. Sakura decided she might as well join them. Unfortunately, a large projectile hit the inside of the Atomos. Junior was trying his best to pilot, and doing a really good job, but they were getting big time fired upon!

Sakura's eyes widened and she rushed to the open cargo bay, confident in her ability to not fall out. "Watch out! Stay back!" She warned the remaining primids. Sakura took a fighting stance. The first thing she noticed was an evil looking Shipgirl. Pure white, very scary. It looked like it had managed to somehow terrify one of the good Shipgirls into freezing up. One of the other ones was going into save her, and Kamek was there, too. Sakura frowned, determined, and grounded herself in the cargo bay.

She held her arms in hands in a curved cup formation, twisting her upper body to the side. She gathered blue, fiery energy in the space between her palms. "Hadoken!" She released it with a small explosion. It travelled outward, aided by gravity. It's accuracy and damage would be reduced by the distance but it would do something if it hit. It was after all, a fireball that exploded on impact, undeterred by even the ocean itself.

Her main goal was preventing another shot like that from entering the Atomos, and knocking the Water Princess off balance.

"Hadoken! Hadoken! Hadoken!" The street fighter shouted at regular intervals, punctuating her fireballs with the battle cry. Sakura spammed fireballs onto the Water Princess. At a moment's notice though she would interpose her body between any oncoming shots and the interior of the Atomos. No way a little artillery shell could get past her and her focus ability. Not even M. Bison's Pyscho Power or Akuma's evil fireballs could do that without some strategy on their part. This brainless machine's metal shell packed with gunpowered was nothing but a big bullet, and Sakura's Ki defence ate bullets for breakfast!

If the Water Princess did something, that might be more tricky. Sakura wasn't sure what she could do, but given the fact they weren't blown out of the sky already it probably meant she wasn't unapproachably powerful. She could at least help out her allies below with Ki fire bombing. Sakura trusted Junior and Geralt to do what they thought was best; she would follow their judgement.

Outside of Winton

Dareen wasn't particularly hostile towards Sybl, nor was she worried. She never got the impression of danger. Mostly because of Fatima's message. Fatima was naive and probably too soft for her own good, but she wasn't an idiot. Given the fact that Sybl was here now, it just confirmed her suspicions that this was just Fatima being Fatima and all was well. Once she was at the bottom of the dusty hill she would let Dunny down where it was less so. He was kind of scratchy and shifty. Not exactly small enough to be carried around in her pocket, unfortunately.

The males, protective as they were, rushed into the caves to save their damsel in distress. Dareen walked casually after them, looking back over her shoulder at Thom, Dunny, and Sybl. The sounds of tense but civil conversation floated from within the cave. Dareen's elevated heart beat began to calm and she smirked.

"Well, thanks a lot, kid." She thanked Thom. "And you too, Dunny, obviously." She would pet him. Then she glanced wryly over at Sylb.

"I would suggest not pullin' a stunt like that again. Unless you want Icey and Dicey over there to rip your head off." Dareen said, referring to Mikhail and Jandar with a jerked thumb over her shoulder. "Tch," She pinched her nose.

"Hope they aren't too hard on her. It's this kind of bullshit that makes Fatima so special. No other Queen in the world would ever do something like this, y'know? If she wanted to be reasonable and safe, she would have just stayed in whatever ivory tower she grew up in." Dareen said, taking a few steps into the cave. Fatima could see her now, a distance behind her two male guardians.

Pandora emerged briefly, smiling at the lack of function of the heavy machine guns. "Hah! Go fuck yourselves!" She shouted crudely. They could probably hear her, but by the time they turned around she would have vanished beneath the surface. No matter. If they wanted to fight now, they would have to do it with much smaller guns, and without a range advantage. It would be wise of them to stay safely inside their little towers.

However, what they were firing at, Pandora did not expect. She heard a rumbling, and poked her head out to get a close look. Immediately, she face palmed, and dragged her hand down her face. They crashed the boat. "They crashed the boat! I leave for ten seconds, and they crash the bloody boat! Christ!" She cursed.

Fortunately, it didn't seem that bad. Everyone got off and was now inside the ruined lobby. Right over a plane. Pandora noticed a bloody young woman propped up against a plane. Hmm. The pretty one. Jamie, wasn't it? Some of the names had slipped her mind since their brief introduction about a week ago. She was holding her abdomen and seemed quite tired. Gutshot, perhaps?

The others were crowding around a fallen young lad. Well, she was closer. That was all it took to influence Pandora's decision. When it came to applying life-saving aid in battles, she had learned not to get too attatched to her decisions. Just pick one and go, it doesn't really matter.

Pandora swam over. Hopefully Jamie didn't confused her for an hallucination.

"Oi oi," Pandora greeted casually, giving Jamie a once over.

"Name's Pandora, think we've met. I've got healing powers, but they aren't pleasant. It's probably gonna hurt, unless you want me to stick my finger in your noggin and put you to sleep for an hour." Pandora squinted at Jamie's belly. "What is that? Doesn't look like a bullet wound." She commented.

Then she scoffed, reached out and plucked at one of the strings on Quake's vest. "Lotta good that costume didja. Is that even protective?" She was mostly murmering to herself, absentmindedly. As if remembering Jamie was there, she made eye contact.

"Answer my questions if you think it'll help you stay awake. But the main one is do you want my help or not? Like I said, it's gonna be gross and unpleasant." The redhead, up to her waist in concrete, waited patiently for a response.

Sakura had already brightened up before Princess Peach could even finish her speech. The shoulder clap alone was exactly the kind of communication she was most in tune with. She looked at Peach and her nervous smile became an eager one. She clenched her fists and bent her elbows. Nodding her head eagerly, she beamed. "Okay! Okay, yeah! Let's do it!" Perhaps she was just impressionable, but Princess Peach did an excellent job reinvigorating the youth's spirit. Some if it flew over her head, such as Peach absorbing someone else's spirit, but the gist was there. Princess Peach had confirmed for Sakura that she really was meant to be there. That they were heroes. Adventurers who had fought many battles! And now Sakura was among them.

Once they broke apart, Sakura began jogging in place. Unashamedly enthused. She wanted to stay with Peach and spend some money. But right now, she wanted to go where the fight was even more. Sakura punched the air multiple times. Most of the information said afterard was taken in. Most of it.

"We're just gettin' started!" She announced. Sakura took a firm stance and rocketed her fists forward. Her arms shook with the residual power from the strikes. If someone was standing there, they would have gotten pummeled big time. Sakura imagined it a Galeem'd up version of M. Bison.

"Let's take that big square box for a spin! I helped buy it!" Sakura declared. "Bye Princess! Bye everyone! See you later!" With a cartwheel she sprinted off after Jr and Kamek. She had flown in airplanes a few times. Usually on the way back home on some of her journeys. But never something as crazy as this airship. The girl also believed that Junior could fly it effectively 100%, doubt not even crossing her mind.

Buckled in, Sakura bounced up and down excitedely. When Junior took off, she giggled, excited. Frightened in a good way. Like a really good horror movie. "Woaahohohooo! Sugoi!" She bounced up and down as Junior found his air feet. Once everything was settle, she unbuckled her seat belt and stood, moving up to the cockpit with Junior. She leaned over his shoulder and stared out the window.

"H-" Sakura made a confused noise. She hesitated, as if she had just realised something. "H-hey! Mister Geralt!" She turned around and looked at the Witcher. "Wh-what did you just say? That is a horrible word!" Sakur turned around completely. She was rigid as an arrow.

"That word! That 'w'-word!" Sakura elaborated.

He said it so casually, and it was combined with another word. So it took a moment to register. Still, that word..."whore"! Offensive! Vulgar! She wanted to stick soap in her own mouth after just thinking it.

"A guy called my friend Kei a name like that and...ooogh! I punched his lights out!" She recreated the fearsome uppercut in mime. When she was finished, she glared at him pointedly. "I don't know where you come from, but slurs like that won't fly around me, Mister Geralt!" Sakura literally set her foot down. Whatever matters that might be more pressing had slipped from her mind entirely.

On second thought, I think I am in too many roleplays. Or rather, I would be, if I joined this one. So I will have to withdraw my interest. Sorry about that, @Jumbus.
