I turn my glance back to SEG_FAULT again. Speaking of which, I wrote up the leader's profile and faction description if anyone wants to take a looksee.
Appearance:
Name: Aaron “Ghost" Forrest
Hacker handle: errantWraith
Gender: Male
Age: 43
Occupation: Unknown, retired soldier.
Personality: “Aaron is a tight knot of debilitating social disorders and paranoia, likely a result of PTSD.” -Dr. Elizabeth Wheeler, Ghost's psychologist.
Well, half of that is true. Aaron Forrest is extremely paranoid, to the point where he hardly uses his real name anymore. His “debilitating” social disorders, however, are just a feigned tool of concealment. Everyone pities the diagnosed anti-social amputee who stays at home all day, but they stay away.
Which is exactly how Aaron likes it. Less snooping.
Background: Aaron served his time in the CIA, earning his nickname for his ability to get in and out of an enemy computer system without leaving a trace, save a single, intentional, encrypted signature. The Ghost's reign was ended during a field mission in Afghanistan when an enemy drone struck his vehicle, blasting off his right foot and ending his career as an agent. He was paid off with a pension, fitted with a prosthetic, and sent back to the States to disappear and live out the rest of his life in peace.
Things rarely work out according to plan, however. He spent the next few years tracking back through the federal computer system convinced that somewhere, somebody had betrayed him.
And there it was, hidden behind firewall after firewall: An official document, detailing a trade for the Ghost's location in exchange for some intelligence and the release of another agent.
And that's when he went off the map, starting up SEG_FAULT as a way to help others escape the government's notice, for a price.
If they were trying to do so for illegal purposes, so be it.
Important Notes: Leader of the SEG_FAULT faction. It should be noted that Mr. Forrest walks with a cane because his right leg is gone below the knee, and his prosthetic is imperfect. It is bulletproof and lead lined, however, and contains a spare smartphone in case of emergencies. The phone's battery is kept charged while Aaron is out and about by a generator not unlike that in shake-to-charge flashlights.
The bottom six inches of the cane can be electrified.
Thank you for putting your information in, Aaron. ctOS will protect your personal information and ensures you that none will hack into your electrical items!
SEG_FAULT faction description: SEG_FAULT was established to erase documents and identities from government computer systems. For a price, of course. While a SEG_FAULT agent may not be as deadly in person to a vigilante as a fixer or policeman, they're much, much harder to track down, and their operations impede vigilante and police efforts far more than your average gang member.
After all, ctOS says they and their clients don't exist.
