"Long Live the King!" They chanted then.
"Long Live the King!" They chant now.

But the one who wears the crown and sits upon the throne in Arthroyeaux is not the same as then. King Vertreaux DuFairre passed away only a short while ago, and his only son, Prince Arsene, took his own life out of grief and fear of the crown. Thus ended the DuFairre Lineage, leaving the Bretonois Throne of Ravenfell empty with no successor.

Henceforth the Bretonian game of political intrigue and cunning began, as feudal lords began vying for the throne. But the game had concluded as swift as it had begun, and the Baron Damien DuRant was accelerated to the seat of sovereignty. There was no contest as evidenced by the union of lords kneeling to him, and now Ravenfell has become his dominion.

But as cruel taxes are passed and rumors arise of plots and deceit within the old court of the DuFairre lineage, one must wonder if this "King of Ravenfell" is really nothing but "The False King".

Rules:
((1))
Be Your Character
Philosophical bullcrap aside, step into your character's shoes and seriously see the world as they do. If your character is a beggar and you think nobles are scum, then act like it if another person's character is a noble! If your character is scared of fighting, run away from any battle!

(Yes, your characters can hate each other, because we're all friends OOC, right? This is recommended if personalities clash, otherwise I'll whip you for Rule 2.)

((2))
Be logical.
Not much explanation needed here. Think from your character's perspective and the age they are in. They might get lost in the woods if they go off the road. They might run into a pack of wolves on the way back. These wolves could possibly kill your character if you're not careful.

If death is a near certainty, don't overpower the situation just to stay alive.

Death earns bonus points if you do it with style.

(If I am being illogical, call it out! I'm no exception to this rule either)

((3))

No Godmodding.
NPCs belong to me. Mooks belong to Everyone. Characters belong to Individual Players. Don't touch what isn't yours or influence them on your own accord.

(I'm an exemption to this rule WHEN people become inactive and stop up the storyline. See Rule 5.

((4))

Proper Spelling and Grammar.
To an extent where your posts are most definitely comprehensible/understandable.

(You can tpyo as mchu as this)

((5))
Lords of Time Management
Keep posting, posting, posting, posting whenever you're up! Even if it's OOC! Let us know when you're available or if you are going to be absent for a while!

(If you are inactive for a while, intended or not, I'll PuppetPlay your characters until you let me know you're ready to continue or, if needed, leave.)

BONUS RULE!
((!$!))
Have Fun!!!
And I will penalize you if you don't follow this one!

(I think.)

I have missed this world. It will be good to be Roleplaying with you again, Andre.

I'll work on a Character Sheet immediately. I just need to know what Year and which Era this is so have a better idea of this setting.

Ravenfell Bretons are more French, yes?

And, perhaps add a "Recommended" section for Races, Jobs, Magic, Skills and Background. I doubt you would have Dwarves in Ravenfell.

Message me sometime, please.

Its always good to hear about a recurring player with good things to say :) I'll make a cs around 6:30pm eastern time.

What's the magic difficulty level in this like?

A) A fireball is a weak spell and pretty much anyone can cast it.
B) Fireball takes time and patience to cast but is common for wizards and scholars
C) Throwing flame from ones hand has been forgotten and only taught to a few gifted masters that can control the mighty dragon within XD

Closer to A B or C? Also what's the tech like?

I have considered at points to make a kind-of tabletop RP in Eyreseum, but that requires effort and I'm split up enough as it is. @_@
I see what you're getting at though, and I do agree. XD

I'll let you tweak it then make my CS.

Also yeah Shadowmancy was a gathering of a wierd type of Necromancy from a book I read, something from some other sources and I formed it to seem cohesive and fit into roleplays. This was something I typed up for a roleplay so yeah if it needs tweaked for your world do so.

Ah, I had no idea! I'm only familiar with it because Supremacy Kills had a Necro Character who had something similar. >w<
Regardless, I'll see what I can do and then post back here with what I get! :3

Name: Takki Siagathar
Age:18 (acts like 13)
Gender: Female
Race: Ravenfell Netixel
Weapons: Two daggers, one bigger than the other, a slingshot and a wooden staff.
Equipment: Brown and khaki colored pants tied tight around her legs, and a tightly tied Netixel crafted shirt. She's wearing armguards and shoulderguard as well as leather chaps of a kind, a belt with 3 bags and a second belt arond her left leg for one of the daggers. The other dagger is tied around a second waist-belt. She's also wearing a bunch of bracelets and two necklaces that she has gotten from a raid, so over all style is quite gypsy like.
Inventory: The three beltbags that she's wearing are as following: 1 Waterbag. 2 a bit of dried fruit, and dried meat, worth about 2 days of food for a small eater, as well as a coal pen and a piece of paper. 3rd bag contains tricnkets(for luck) and a bandage. On her belt she's also carrying her bigger dagger and her slingshot, and on her leg-belt she's carrying her smaller dagger. She carries her staff at hand.
Appearance: Work In progress
Background: Tikki was brought up the traditional ways of Netixels, however she didn't fare too well with the traditions. Tikki was always a bit of an... Odd one. One could say that she were over energetic and over eager. She always wanted to explore and could not sit still a moment. She got anxious when she was taught to ambush for raids, but once the action started she would be really good at what needed to be done. She held little to no compassion for other creatures than those of her own kind. However when she grew a bit older, 16, she started getting curious on top of her eager and over energetic behavior.

Her clan had tolerated her till then. But at this age it was starting to become a problem. Tikki was starting to ask what the other races came from, what they were like, if they were friendly, and no matter how much her parents and "friends" tried to do to lessen her curiosity, she was never satisfied. This caused her quite a lot of trouble, both when she would get caught by other races when she tried to approach and observe, and also when she got schooled for being too stupid for her own good. But she can't help herself. She will still get herself in trouble and still try to learn, and as her childish behavior didn't seem to change she became the so called Black sheep of the clan, avoided and barely tolerated. Once something went wrong, she would get blamed. But she's cheerfully oblivious, and continues on her own ways anyway.

Personality: Posetive to the max. Curious, energettic, sarcastic and stubborn. She just can't help herself. Even if it's a dumb thing to do, if she wants to do it, she will. She gets very few down's and is rarely ill. She's talented in whatever she tries to learn, and she knows it. She's highly questioning, so she comes off as defensive. Even though she's smiling happily and is curious about things, she is still sly and will steal your stuff if youre not aware, so its pretty much that the looks deceive with he case.

Job:
Thief and rouge, although this is not an official occupation. In her clan she's considered a hunter.
Skills:
Pickpocketing, stealth, deception, staff-handling.
Traits:
Agile and Stealthy. Weak to magic.
Magic:
Aerokinesis
Talent:
She's really good at weilding the staff, and has a talent for catching fish.
Strengths:
Flight, stelth, chasing etc.
Weaknesses:
Ground restraint situation. Inside buildings etc. She's also not great at all in formal ocations.

Name:
Lamont DuFairre
Age:
19
Gender:
Male
Race:
Ravenfellan Breton

Weapons:
Lamont wields the DuFairre Rapier as his only weapon, which he keeps in a sheath of leather to hide the recognizable ornate blade that is decorated with inscriptions.
Equipment:
Lamont wears humble garments, which consists of a leather vest over a white cotton shirt, laced leather pants and boots.
Inventory:
Purse of gold and silver coins on his person, and in his horse's saddlebags he keeps hunting bow and arrows, cooking supplies, food rations, water, and medicines.

Appearance:
A young Ravenfellan man, Lamont has a light olive skin tone with a smooth complexion only dirtied by life in the countryside were baths are a pure luxury. He has a slight athletic build made up by years of farmwork and hunting, and also has little facial hair for his age. His hair colour is of a dark black tone, and his eyes are a hazelnut brown colour. He only bears a small scar on his arm from falling over on one of his hunts.

Background:
Heir to the DuFairre lineage, Lamont claims to be the legitimate and lost son of Vertreaux and Lindelle DuFairre.

Vertreaux had kept Lamont's birth a secret at the time his mother passed away after delivering her second and last son. Vertreaux thus sent Lamont away to be raised in a humble cottage far away from Arthroyeaux and it's complexities. With the servants who took the baby, he sent the DuFairre Rapier with him, to prove the son's birthright eventually. He made sure a replica was made so that everything went unnoticed by the nobles of court.

In the forests near Marceilles, Lamont was raised by the humble servants who wore the clothes of humble peasant farmers who were happily married. Lamont lived a quiet life, unknowing of his real father as the years went by.

Lamont mingled happily with the other peasant children in the village close-by. Lamont easily made friends, and attended school with the other children as soon as he was old enough.

Lamont later had visions of becoming a heroic chevalier, as he watched the local baron of the white and blue often ride by to patrol the countryside. Lamont would usually lean on the wooden fence to peer out and watch the shining knights ride off into the distance.

His foster parents learned of this, and called for a fencing trainer to attend to Lamont when he was 16. Lamont demonstrated an eager and foolhardy attitude in his learning, as well as bit of pure talent in wielding the rapier.

Some of the other boys in the village shared Lamont's enthusiasm for adventure, glory and renown, and would often have sparring sessions with him using pitiful sticks they found lying around. Every time, Lamont would demonstrate that he was the most able and skilled with wielding a one-handed weapon.

Two years had passed, and Lamont's fencing trainer finally acknowledged that he couldn't teach Lamont anymore, and that he was quite able and ready.

By that time, the news of the king's death had arrived, and the humble farmers realized what they had to do. They had sat down with Lamont that one night, and told him everything, about his birthright and his duty. It was a lot to take in, but Lamont was able to accept what was being put upon him. The servants passed on the DuFairre Rapier onto Lamont, and bowed before him.

Lamont had a purpose to fulfil, and he took his duty on more dutifully than an angel who purges evil. He confided in his closest friends, and they joined him in his 'quest' to reclaim the throne. After a few months of planning, gathering enough supplies and gaining the blessing of their parents, they set out as a party towards Arthroyeaux.
Personality:
Lamont is chivalrous and dedicated to helping those lesser than himself and others, being willing to take the fall for those around him. His parents often commented that he had the heart of a Chevalier. He is humble and modest, allowing others to speak and present their views before he speaks his own mind, and can make rational decisions. He is kind and caring to his friends, and honourable towards his enemies.

Job:
Prince
Skills:
Proficient at fencing with a rapier, Lamont can make swift and accurate cuts and stabs through the air, to the point where missing is almost only deliberate when he runs into lesser foes. He is able to disarm an enemy quickly, and move quickly around his foes. He is also capable of cooking his own meals and hunting with a bow and arrow, as well as riding a horse.
Traits:
Lamont is swift and precise with his rapier, able to take the right steps to not only evade an enemy but also disarm them at the same time. He is fairly agile
Magic:
None. Lamont doesn't demonstrate any magic potential.
Talent:
DuFairre Reversal - Lamont uses his graceful balance to turn the tide on an overbearing foe, letting the foe take the fall whilst drawing his blade through them. He can use this at anytime he holds a parry with an enemy.

Strengths:
Lamont's foolhardy and noble attitude towards any situation, he can maintain his cool in the face of stressful circumstances. Both his courageous and calm approaches inspire others around him.
Weaknesses:
Lamont's compassion for the poor and weak can not only lead him to being manipulated, but also can lead to him taking more injury for others than he should.

Theme:

For those who wanted to know how far magic really goes in this world (as far as I have written), check this out:

And for those who have been wondering what my faceless land looks like, here is a lovely (work in progress) map:

There are grasslands on the in-between that divides Pine Forest (South) Ravenfell and Oak Forest (North) Ravenfell.
The mountains in north-east Ravenfell are known for their misty and sombre appearance, with only three notable settlements nestled within. The rest of the mountains are mystery that border on disappearing travellers and explorers getting lost in the mists. Only the more foolhardy bandits make their encampments in the misty mountains.
The red circle indicates where Arthroyeaux is, but I imagine we might use the rest of Ravenfell in this Roleplay, so I'm working on this map all the way through. I'll update it here when I add more.

Another note, if you guys enjoy world building, this is a sort-of "open-source" Roleplay, so if you want to make a contribution, like ideas for names or fun-facts, pop me a message and we can have a nerdgasm chat!
