Perks:
Experienced: Joshua has reached his early 40s, an rare age as many never see to be older than 30 anymore. Joshua has grown to have a very deep understanding of the world, and can typically rely on his many experiences, both peaceful and violent, to help him endure, and even thrive in situations he is presented.
Leader: Joshua, a Knight Sergeant, is a fairly high NCO-equivalent rank in the Eastern chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel. He is a very experienced and gifted leader, and has been many victories against both mutant and human and led a number of successful assaults against Enclave Remnant positions.

Equipment:
Primary weapon: R100, a variant of the R91 which uses 7.62x51mm NATO (Also uses .308) ammunition. It fires from 20-round box magazines. It trades off recoil and weight for a more effective point target range and stopping power.

It all holds 2 canteens, a compass, and few assorted food items, a medical supply set, a pen and pencil, a rag wrapped around a small case of gun oil, a folding shovel, and a lighter.

Bio:

Joshua is a child of the Pitt, however that is about has much as he knows of his former home that is more than just rumor. His mother died in the Pitt many years ago, and himself, a small newborn, was taken up by the Brotherhood of Steel, as they cleansed the former city of Pittsburgh, now going by the name 'The Pitt'.

His life was that of an average soldier in the Eastern Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel, he excelled with conventional weaponry, not liking the energy weaponry that the brotherhood preferred. Though he was a child of the Pitt, and knew his whole being laid in the new thinking of the Brotherhood here, he was torn when the Outcasts left.

He knew the Brotherhood's commitment to preserve technology, however, were does preservation begin and selfishness begin? That being said, he also questioned the overly generous nature of the Brotherhood here. Which put the preservation of technology on the backburner to help a population which, most times was out to kill them. He sided with the Brotherhood of Steel, feeling that it was the least he could do for their kindness.

During his early 20s, he was stationed at the GNR radio station, just in time for the Lone Wanderer to, not even a week after his arrival, save the station from being overrun by a super mutant assault and witnessed first hand of the Lone Wanderer's power. Though he was inspired, he could do little at the GNR radio station until the Enclave began their assault a few weeks later on Project Purity.

During this time, a probing attacks were made by the Enclave at the GNR station, here then Paladin Joshua and the fellow defenders of the station established Brotherhood control of the area, even going as far as conducting few counter-attacks to retake city blocks the Enclave had captured. As time past he became known throughout the Brotherhood and was placed from his former position at GNR to leading his own squad of Paladins during the Battle of Project Purity.

Once the battle was over, Joshua was then tasked with leading deep patrols across the wasteland, typically looking for Enclave forces which had entrenched themselves, now without any orders from their high command.

It was then, when he realized that the decision of Elder Lyon's so many years ago was the correct one. The Outcasts were slowly being picked off, and their patrols were more rare to see as time had gone on. Their own pride was their undoing, their lack of trust of the locals, their inability to adapt. When he looked at the Brotherhood's achievements, he saw the dawn of a new civilization, he saw people, given a second chance at life. The Outcasts had nothing more than technology. Technology was good, yes, however to Joshua it felt hollow.

It strengthened his resolve, and an undeniable believer in the Easter chapters ways. Time went on, Joshua other proceeded to go higher up in the ranks of the Brotherhood, finding himself being as a Knight Sergeant as last major Enclave base at Adams AFB was destroyed by the Lone Wanderer.

As quickly as news of the Lone Wanderer's victory at Adams came to them, the Lone Wanderer disappeared. As he did, stories of him were told, the years after his last victory were also filled with sightings of him, rumors of him appearing in places as far as Virginia to rumors of him in the ruined city of Pittsburgh were common place.

(Now here is were I condense it down ALLOT)

Years past after the Battle of Project Purity, and Joshua, an older, grizzled veteran was picked for a new mission, one of high importance which rivaled and some could say was more important than Project Purity in its goal.

The rumor of an underground railroad system using magnetic levitation was spreading from traders from the north. They spoke of an old, lost pre-war system which made travel during that time only days, which was projected to take months on foot across the entire United States. The Brotherhood saw a major opportunity for them. Not only would trade be opened up with the other coast, allowing for a quick exchange of ideas and goods, it also would put them in contact with the Western chapters again, which they had not been in contact which since the Eastern chapter had left decades go.

The entire operation was only known in full detail by the highest of BoS leadership, not even Sentinel Lyons new the operation well only knowing its broad goals.

Joshua was picked for the mission. He was a very seasoned veteran of battles with both humans and mutants, he'd spent days, even weeks on end in the wasteland, surviving while on his long-range patrols and had become accustomed to living in the harsh wastelands over his own room at the Citadel.

Given his mission, equipment and weaponry, he was sent off with a complex mission to search out the possibility of the 'MagLev' train system and to reestablish contact with the Western Chapters.

Upon arriving in the Mojave, he found himself sobering to a horrid realization that the Western chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel was gone, what little bit was left destroyed only a decade and a half before. What little bit he could recover showed a long history of being beaten into a corner by the New California Republic. He was heart broken. He had known that the Brotherhood here had been in battle with the NCR when the Eastern chapter left many years ago, but to have been beaten? He'd seen the state of the NCR's military forces, though they were respectable, they weren't a match even against the forces the Eastern chapter held.

He discovered one of their undoings was the same as the Outcasts, their inability to adapt, their inability to be told over wise, that there was more than technology at stake now. They had sat out their lives in the series of bunkers, waiting for their death and it had come to them swiftly and without much warning. It was a sad realization and that he would have to report this even felt worse. However he knew of the other mission, the one to investigate the MagLev train lines. He didn't know were to start, such a project was going to be held at the highest echelons of power here, as MagLev would change everything about trade and travel. The West would unlock the vast riches of the East, the great cities of the East coast, the capital of the United States of America.

I got maybe another thirty-thousand to go, give or take. And from there it only has to go when I can get off of re-adapting old shit.

I'm not usually this lazy, but Evan and I have been hunting for an excuse to continue this. We were set to make our own Fallout RP until this was brought to our attention.

So, Dihn, think the Cajun accent's been paid proper respect so far? Or have I made it into a terrible, terrible abomination?

Ok, so you're just adapting stuff from a previous RP. That explains why you have so much written already. I've actually only read through your first hidden post so far. I'll read the rest tomorrow.

I can certainly read it in the long drawl. So long as it reads at time like a intermingling of French and the southern accent. I'll give a sample in Frank Underwood. The next step would be to get someone from the region to critique, in the same way I got a couple people from New England to critique my Boston dialect.

Once I get through this prolonged backstory I can do more than simply gesture the plot towards this interpretation and start going full steam, with Evan.

Poe: Demonstrate your only icebreaker.

Sterk: I would have asked if you wanted to collab, but with Dallas in the room we'd also need Neon, and I'm fairly sure they are out for their night/day/whatever.

Ah, good to know. Was going for the sort of backwoods Cajun dialect myself. Not New Orleans, mean like the folk you'd see living near the Atchafalaya Basin (More than likely misspelled). Or like those dudes on Swamp People.

Terminal, I was sooo tempted to make Sabin actually pull the grenade pin, on accident, but I guess that would of interrupted the story a bit... :p So I'll just settle with his little counter prank, haha.

Poe just really wants to see somebody dive/fall over that balcony. :/

I'm going to respond and then leave it at that, let others catch up. Shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves.

Finally got my post up! Decided to cut the bit about how Scrap won the hearts and minds of Freeside and arguing with himself as to whether or not to join the NYSS firefight but ultimately walking away since he's supposed to be on his best behaviour. Nice additions but not really necessary to get the game started.

Unknowable--

Everything is good, and I appreciate you doing something unique and playing a bot. The Vetibird could be a bit of an OP advantage for us, but I wouldn't be opposed to you writing it to have the thing crash in the Mojave.

Also, if you could explain how Tenpenny/House would come to know/want the robot on the team, that would help flesh out the character logically.

Joshua--

I don't mind that he's former BoS, but House and Tenpenny hate the BoS. So if you could include something in your bio that explains a)How Joshua has concealed his identity and b)how he managed to get Tenpenny/House's attention to get an invitation, then you're in.
