Another random idea that just came to mind... Jason Bright and his followers... The chances of them actually reaching orbit with the trajectory those rockets had are slim to none...I just finished the quest and it appears they launched towards the North-east... Maybe a covilization of ghouls that view it as a blessing and actively kidnap normal humans and turn them into ghouls?

While absolutely everybody in the game can agree that Jason Bright's ghouls were pretty crazy, they weren't that stupid and/or malevolent. As long as Jason was around, they would never do something like that - and please remember, barring grisly intervention ghouls can live for a very, very long time.

If the cult had harbored any intentions or beliefs within the aforementioned purview, they would have turned Chris into a ghoul. They went out of their way to keep him human.

Also, there is no surefire way to turn humans into ghouls - it is a normally extremely rare occurrence made common by the Nuclear Apocalypse. 999/1000 humans will still die if you blast them with sufficient radiation to turn them into a ghoul. There also is no magical ghoul gene sequence that, when damaged by ionizing radiation, turns people into ghouls - the process is happenstance and unique to each individual.

So if they decided to 'turn humans into ghouls,' they would run out of space to store the dead bodies before they had even one successful conversion. :P

Fuck it, here's what I've got so far. I'm working on another batch for Atomic to check but these are Certified JunkTech Series One:

While it's nice to see a few planned schematics out and about, you should probably save pre-arraned custom items for locales we'll be visiting. Rather than restricting custom items to what you can come up with, just wait for people to ask you for something and literally build what they ask for. There's more variation that way, and people can decide exactly what they want rather than having to settle merely for what we create.

Who's to say he's even alive? Those rockets were moving pretty damn fast from what I saw, and the chances of them crashing in a firey explosion seemed pretty likely.

As for the dead bodies: Ghouls gotta eat too.

But I'll admit it was a halfassed idea, just figured if anybody liked the sound of it they'd grab it and run with it

Hello one and all! How are you all doing this fine evening? Now this may be a stupid question, but I always feel a need to ask, I realize the title of the thread says "ALWAYS OPEN" but just to be sure, is it open? And if so, is there a way for me to be caught up on current events?

Apparently GM is working the hell shift today, I wouldn't expect any thing regarding CS acceptance until sometime later tomorrow-- at the earliest a little after 1am.

At the same time the game has shown instances where a person may turn into a ghoul with an instant blast of radiation. And even a sane one. But given no attempt at sciencing ghouls has been done (and the game's plot insists on keeping them an enigma for the most part) it's a pretty much a solid roll of the dice combined with the careful balance of the subject's mind on the knife's edge between sanity and feral.

Alright, thanks for the heads up! You might have to excuse me, though. I just got finished with 10 weeks of basic training and am in AIT right now. My computer time is limited to normally 6-9PM on weekdays and most of the weekends. So I may be only posting once a day or so. Hope that's alright. And with being away for 10 weeks, my rping skills may be a little rusty and I might have to work out the kinks. I just need a little patience is all. Thanks in advance, guys. Now having said all that, I shall begin working on my sheet. Hopefully I can get it up tomorrow. If not, then monday night.

Hello....

Ok. I appreciate your wish to be involved here.

You can join on 3 conditions:

1) You gotta chill. I work, the other players I'm sure have lives. If you're as impatient with people's posting as you were with the joining process, we're going to have issues.

2) Get rid of that last sentence where you say your guy traveled all across the north american continent. We talked about that.

3) You keep the effort up. If once you're in I start getting 1 paragraph posts with bad grammar and spelling, I'll kill you off.

As long as you can do those things, you're in.

As I said before, I'll be more than happy to take requests as long as they A. seem reasonable and B. they're kosher with the bossman. As these are "Series One", they're things Scrap already knows how to make (you might have noticed the majority of them are weapons)

While I do expect inspiration to strike while we're out and about, these are established items and as such there's no reason to keep them locked away if someone wants one.

Not sure. If he doesn't post by the time we get to New Reno, maybe we'll have our first casualty...

Mostly a roll of the dice. Desmond in Point Lookout had a good enough understanding of ghoulology that he was purposefully able to turn himself into a ghoul through the controlled exposure method, just so he could live longer.

And this was before the bombs fell.

I wasn't aware of Controlled Exposure. Then again I don't like Point Lookout enough that last time I decided I would give it another roll I was just interested in leaving.
