@Giant: Historically yes that should be happening, but this game has been rather ahistorical thus far so i do not know. GM's call. Also nothing personal intended by in game rhetoric, just felt like posting something not related to Europe.

To be expected, I think.

The game is enjoyable, and there were a few things I didn't like (the British blockade against the Union, the sudden end to the Taiping Rebellion, just to name a couple...), but I didn't come in here expecting to simulate history either. I'm under the impression that most of us have a passing understanding of this century and the politics of the era, if that, so, again, I joined like I would any other game. Play the game, see what everyone does, react accordingly, and then carry on.

English Rebellion was a bit short lived as well. I mean he can't access most of his previous forces now due to the India hassle but I expected more than a turn.

Alright, for this week at least, I will most likely only do two minis, one for the ACW, one for the European War. I'm aiming to do the EW one first, but I can do the ACW first if you want more time to consider your moves, so don't feel like you are being hurried.

I recommend

1. Oranje or Transvaal (in modern South Africa). The Hannah Montana of WiR. Gets the best of both worlds with European tech (army level, literacy) and African resources.
2. Nejd,for T.E Lawrence potential.
3. Egypt is probs the strongest African state.

Sorry to say, Bavaria isn't long for this world.

Persia is a solid choice though. If you are willing to be European, go Portugal.

Hm, I'd have to mull it over. Egypt would be at the centre of conflict, but Persia has the whole middle east to expand into. Portugal could. . . well, wait, what makes Portugal so important? Seems like all they have to look forward to is an ass-kicking by Spain.

Welcome! Glad to see such interest. I think the GM's general policy is that only if someone drops will there be recruitment allowed. Mainly because it is insane the amount of work he has to do to keep this running with as many Nations as we've got, but I do believe he has like a waiting list if anyone really wants to join. So if someone drops you could always be contacted first thing and given a spot.

Just would like to point out that Russia has been in debt for the last 3 years and is in even more debt than the ottoman empire.
I don't care myself but it seemed odd everyone jumped on Ottoman's about debt when Russia has been in debt for so long...

Yes that may be but I have more income so my debt is easily recoverable compared to the ottomans
