I think if you reach -100,000 you default and your country goes into chaos. That's what I thought was going to happen anyway...

I think the debt ceiling is different from nation to nation dependent on your other stats.

Outcast has to keep it close to the vest because there is no interest. If there was interest, then default would simply be when you income was less than debt maintenancen

Orders are far too precious to be used on just one thing, Dannaroo.

What I'm saying is it gives an unfair advantage. What's to stop, say, Mexico from declaring war on China right now and using the three extra war orders to build some ships, increase number of regulars and conduct army drills to increase army level. Then using his 4 normal orders as usual. Mexico has no intention of actually attacking China in any way. China is zero threat to Mexico (it is about to be blockaded/invaded by European powers). So what is to stop someone from doing that to gain an unfair advantage?

Yes that is problematic.

What's stopping Mexico from doing that? Outcast. He's called people out on similar things before. And the rules themselves state that you shouldn't start wars at the drop of a hat. I guarantee you Outcast would step in if someone tried to do what you described.

Outcast wouldn't allow Mexico to do that. I wouldn't be allowed to DOW China were it not for my alliance with Russia.

I get what you guys are saying I just think there needs to be more limitations on the war orders. While Outcast is great, he is not omnipotent. In certain instances he cannot know whether a player is doing something for RP reasons or just doing it to game the system. In the Mexican example, as Mexico is allied with FFGB they theoretically have a justifiable reason to declare war on China now that UR is at war with them.

I think restriction to only improving military quality and quantity is sufficient. If someone was kicking back, he'd call them out.

What about Spain? That's essentially what Spain did?

Did the Dutch fight any battles during the war of the 8th coalition? I'm not accusing just curious.

You are mostly to blame for the Spanish passivity.

And? They still sat there building up without committing to any battles. He told us his reason was to be stronger. Even Mexico fought more than Spain. Not to mention Spain caused the whole thing and brought us all into the war in the first place. I prolly would have remained neutral if Spain hadn't said some of your stuff against Britain or what not.

@Spain: Once France dropped out of the war, Spain did not have any borders with any hostile nations. And since you had naval superiority, Spain couldn't do anything.

@Dutch: They did get you and France (although Prussia was also a reason) to build up forces on the border of what was formerly known as Belgium. And when France dropped out, they too did not have any hostiles bordering them. You had naval superiority, so they couldn't go anywhere by sea. They could have aided the 'Ussias with their invasion of Austria, but that would almost be beating a dead horse.

I had men lined along the border with France for half the war, and along the coasts for all of it. I didn't want to send any men to fight in Austria or the Ottoman Empire when I knew for a fact that the British had planned an invasion. If not for the fake information being leaked to France and Britain regarding a Prussian attack on Paris, it would've happened, too.

I meant that line. I could not have supplied the last part (especially the false leak of an invasion of Paris). I agree that that was adding on to what I said.

Yep, I had already decided a few days ago that there was going to be a rule change once this current war was over, so that war orders could only be used for mobilising or moving troops, or engaging in battle. I can implement it now if there is support. Also there is a limit to the amount of debt you can get into, and it varies between nations, and the effects are catastrophic if it does happen, and I really want someone to do it so be careful.

Also, it is nice to see you all having a discussion without resorting to catfighting and pettiness. Doesn't it make the roleplay so much more enjoyable?

I forward this motion.

I want it to happen too! Just not to me. ;)

I have no objection with implementing it now, but I propose we expand it to include hostile diplomatic moves.

That just gave me the image of Henry Kissinger running through an embassy punching people in the face.
