Name: Elizabeth Seyes
Gender: Female
Age: 19 (Student)
Appearance:
Additionally, I'm gonna mention that you can visibly see she's handling weighty things day in, day out from looking at her arms. Also, there's more than one scar on there - some not visible publically - along with a tattoo ranging from her shoulder almost all the way down to her left hand, most of which she made herself.
Personality: Eliza is a misfit gone lawful. She does have slight problems with authority, but manages to behave around the right people, mostly because she's trying to avoid trouble. Her striking appearance comes with similar character traits, as she's loud, moody and about as empathetic as a jackhammer. She doesn't think twice before commenting and usually speaks her mind regardless of repercussions, if it doesn't clash with the staying-out-of-trouble goal of hers. In a world of magic, bodily violence is about as useful as a knife at a gunfight, but that never stopped Lizz from breaking someones nose. It's not so much that she's 'willing' to restort to violence, as 'eager' would be the more fitting word. She's easily agitated too, sub-optimal conditions for making friends. However, people are usually rather nice to her, since being on her bad side is a condition of the highest inconvenience. And in the unlikely case of a fistfight occuring somewhere near you, it'd be a very,
very bad idea. As long as people don't give her a reason to hit them in the face, she's reasonably sociable, even helpful and protective of others. Also to be mentioned is her dominating habit of damaging her surroundings, not always consciously. In the big picture, that leads to a lot of superficial friendships and no lasting ones, since behind the friendly demeanor, most are afraid of the violent girl.
Abilities: Elizabeth is not necessarily the best at theoretical disciplines, or studying in general. Neither is she very able to sense magic, create amazing things or manipulate others with it. 'Applied training' is what she'd call her field of expertise. She spends most of her day practicing, developing and experimenting with her ability to make all kinds of metal behave at her will, as well as coming up with new things to force upon her working materials. And she likes to do that wherever she currently is, so seeing her with a welding tool etching runes into some hunk of metal in the middle of a peacefully quiet park is not unheard of. Beyond that she's been experimenting with some minor Outsorcery to make her punches hit slightly harder, but she wouldn't ever admit 'cheating' like that.
Studying: A heavy focus on Automancy. Secretly Outsorcery, but without officially being enrolled to it.
Interests: Punching people; criminal activity - because they allow her to legally beat others up; noise - from a hard, metallic CLINK to explosions to loud music; surfing - there's a good explanation for this one that I won't give away here
Dislikes: Boring people; uniformity; theoretical classes;
Biography: Elizabeth grew up in a boring, small village in the house of her uncle, who happened to be the owner of a glorified scrapyard. Her parents died early enough so she didn't have to mourn, but thus her magical heritage remained undiscovered until much later. Until she was around 14 and flattened half of her guardians house in a pubertal tantrum, to be precise. This event led to her 'voluntary' enrollment into the Academy, where she kept on living a life of destruction, delinquency and being scolded - but now people finally supported one half of her violent penchants.
After a while people ran out of patience with the girl and placed her under the obligation to support the guard personnel at regular intervals, whenever bigger events occured, festivals were had and such. This turned out to be a complete win/win operation, as Lizz was now able to legally represent the law - a roundabout way to say 'start (and end) a brawl' - and clean her severely stained slate, while her mere presence at such occasions inhibits disturbances greatly.
This way an unusual but reasonably stable balance was established and Eliza stays out of the worst so she can keep her part-time job. The metal tower has become a second, more enjoyable home for her where she conducts various practical studies and experiments to eventually finally somehow cheat her way through to a late graduation. Because studying sucks!
Equipment: A self-developed, magical welding device, a complementing pair of darkened, needlessly oversized welding goggles, multiple differently sized and shaped pieces of metal and two unbeatable arguments.
Extra Information: Her uncle is gladly paying all Academy fees if that means she'll stay far away from his lawn, and her little side job is actually paying off a bit as well, so there's that covered. Elizabeth has various, strong opinions on the many possible abbreviations and nicknames that can be constructed from her full name. She also recently stopped smoking.
