Frankly Twilights in a better position than you anyway, all but a few of her troops are hardened veterans of the various campaigns against the other factions, she has the greatest number of spell casters in all of Equestria and the aptitude to pull of considerably powerful feats of magic, as well as numerous generals who are likely highly skilled at warfare. Given you decided to land on M&S territory and not immediately attack with overwhelming force and surprise, they are likely now prepared for you, and your armies are largely untested and unskilled due to more than a millennium of peace and tranquility under the sea, don't prepare this properly and you'll get massacred.

Posted 2.2k words, I am sort of hoping Astral manages to track down Scalpel by encountering Scalpel's psychotic sphere-children, there is something darkly amusing about Astral having to follow them as they laugh and tell him how they are going to kill him if he is lying, whilst bickering about who gets his eyeballs. I am really looking forward to showing them off to Lens too, although they will doubtless be more friendly, if just as creepy.

Its basically what happens when Scalpel has to deal with a rough patch of badly damaged corpses, so its a salvage operation really. :)... also is that a reference to a movie called Phantasm?
