Seems like you are already well on your way to a solid rp, but I just wanted to ask: is it still open?

I believe it is. It does say "[Always Open]" in title after all ;)

Excellent, oh, and one more question Cathy. Conceivably, would the characters from the last roleplay exist, though before everything they went through the last time? I was just thinking that it might be interesting to encounter the previous characters at some point along this story. And Cathy, don't forget, we do have a wiki we can refer everyone to.

I wouldn't be too worried if you wanted to use Darik. This is more of a reboot than a sequel and all the great characters are welcome to return.

And here it is :-)
Name: Robert Kruschev Sinclaire
Age: 40s
Appearance:

Robert Sinclair is like a vintage automobile, exuding a peculiar form of class in a modern world. His manner of dress is almost always defined by a well-tailored suit, and apart from being six feet tall, appears rather normal for a human being. Amidst the genofix and augmentation craze, Robert Sinclair is a nonconformist in that regard. He is quite proud of his natural genetics, and maintains a fairly disciplined diet and exercise routine.

Personality:

"Mr. Sinclaire is a man with many faces, playing every possible angle from each side of the fence. The public loves him -- but that's only because he puts politicians like me through the wringer. What can I say? He's a magnificent piece of ****." -Quote from BESC Representative Illugia Faux taken from CTCCV LiveNetworkLink interview with Reporter Lesita Morana

In the corporate-political wheelhouse of greedy sharks, and conniving back stabbers, Robert Kruschev Sinclaire exists as the most devilishly sly jackal of them all. Fear not his incalculable demeanor, nor his manipulative charisma; such tools of the trade come standard for those of his profession. No. Fear his ambition; his indomitable will to succeed against impossible odds. To play the game of Babylon politics requires the sharpened tact of a brilliant mind, and Sinclaire is no lesser man of the sort. His presence is simply magnetic, commanding respect even amongst his most austere critics and nay-sayers. In truth, only Robert knows who he really is, what he stands for, and what his true motivations are. He can be courteous when required, become ruthless when necessary, and most especially vengeful when pursued.

Occupation: CGB Politician

History:

Robert Kruschev Sinclaire. Former C.E.O. of Multinational Corporation Yggdrasil Industries, current politician in CGB office, and a constant thorn at the BESC's side. Quite the resume for a kid that grew up selling e-cigs and hackware at the lower east coastline of Babylon. There was nothing special about Robert; no hidden power that one day made him the unstoppable force that he is today. Nothing was handed to him either - not his multinational corporation, nor his ascension into politics. Everything he ever accomplished, he did so with rolled up sleeves and hardworking grit.

Yggdrasil Industries has made positive contributions to the world, most notably doing so without harming the environment in the process. Touted as an eco-friendly conglomeration, Yggdrasil Industries was one of the first corporations to start shelling out alternative forms of cost-effective energy. Their manufacturing of waste atomizing machines accounts for the world's substantial decrease in garbage landfills, toxic waste, and biohazard dumpsites. Many other technological wonders were destined to improve the overall quality of life on Outremer, but the BESC stepped in and started putting up the red tape. Citing laws, regulatory fines, and jurisdictional hoopla, whatever they could find to stop Yggdrasil dead in their tracks, they used, unsparingly.

Sinclaire didn't need an investigator to find out what was going on. Clearly the big businesses weren't too fond of their profit-loss, contributed by Yggdrasil, who was clearly dominating the market at this point. So they fetched the BESC puppets they had lined in their pockets and started a ruckus. They even went as far as hiring mudslingers from the press to promote an anti-Yggdrasil smear campaign. Robert knew that if he bowed down now, they'd never get another foothold anywhere. So he played it smart and let it all settle out. He resigned as C.E.O., and urged the board to negotiate with their competitors.

Five years later, Robert Sinclaire is now knee deep in CGB public office, relentlessly combating with BESC legislature in a strategic war of politics. You see, Robert realized that if he wanted to make any real changes in Outremer, he'd have to venture into the belly of the beast himself. The government's hounds may have sniffed out his intentions, but they have nothing but intuition to go by. And while they speculate with twiddled thumbs, the politician amasses a network of powerful connections; swindling bureaucrats and fiddling with ploys of grandeur that work toward his ultimate goal. They have a saying in Outremer that goes something like:

'He who makes a beast of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man.'

To those daring souls that stand in Robert's way, pray the bite from his fangs be quick. For he is a man who wears his pain like the reaper's cloak.

Now that... just makes me feel stupid - there should be a law against me posting once it is past 2 am :P

But that's great! Now for my first (of many questions, no doubt): Could you go a bit deeper into the details of the Scyvi? Seems like an awesome race - and they look just amazing!

Wow, nice Bio Skull; i love it! I love all the references, very nice. Accepted without any qualms. It seems you are at home with the politics system already, more so than i am, which is great! I'm sure you'd be better suited to answering related questions than i. Everyone remember where you left your CS or save a copy somewhere, for when i eventually move everything over to an OOC.

I haven't really thought much about the Scyvi yet Empath. :( I tell you what, lets brainstorm. I'll give you what i've already thought up and you guys can chip in any ideas or suggestions? They're few in number, perhaps 10,000 present on the planet in all. As a rule of thumb they're loners, often living in places out of the way of loud noises and other people. If they must live in the big cities (because of profession or other commitments) they like places with natural vegetation or running water; they're fascinated by it. I was also toying with the idea of them having a biological function which allows them to heal other species and themselves to a certain extent. Broken bones, ripped tissue or ruptured organs and arteries etc. Not set in stone though. They're also telepathic, communicating with their kin over vast distances. They'll probably talk to Humans and other species the same as any other though.

The reason they're in Outremer i thought could be that as part of their rite of passage into adulthood they must leave the homeworld and go to another populated world and do good works. This could have social, religious or some other reason for being so. What do you guys think to all that?

Sorry i'm working so slow guys, i just got hit with a massive assignment at work so i'm on overload here. . Bear with me. <3

Sounds like a plan - I think I got some ideas floating around somewhere in the empty void of my brain, I will start to write some of them down later when I have done my school work :)
And for me it is no trouble that it is taking a bit long, I tend to work rather slowly as well - so just keep at it ^^

Edit: Some thoughts about the Scyvi I will ponder on later:
What are their lifespan? Do they have genders? Solid bodied or more "fluid" (going off of the picture)? Defense capabilities? (even a peaceful race would require some sort of way to defend themselves in order to survive - perhaps something related to their healing and psychic abilities?). What are society's view on them - and in relation: do they hide their appearance or not? (if society looks at them in a skeptical manner they might tend to disguise themselves).

I'd imagine they live longer than most. If their rite of passage is to do good works, that kind of thing can take half a century. I wouldn't want to put a number on it just yet but i'd say quite a long lifespan.

Genders, no idea. Any biologists in the arena wanna weigh in?

Defense, i was toying with the idea of some kind of sonic boom emitted from the mouth? Designed to stun, disorientate and incapacitate but not necessarily kill.

Perception, I'd say tolerant. Humanity is naturally sceptical of outsiders but the Machine Minds made them free the Tindrel remember? I mean they make themselves useful as a matter of principle. I wouldn't say they'd need to hide their appearance at all. In fact i'd go so far as to say a lot of people like having their helping hand around.

In other news, released a little bit on Actim and corrected all the distances to Babylon.

Thanks XD. I kinda took the skeleton of what was being mentioned for the political system and just ran with it. If there isn't anything set, I'd be happy to contribute on that end.

You know what you could use for that? Take the Snapping Effect of Alpheidae shrimp to a whole new level. Some muscle in the mouth that produces the same effect but projects it?

Good idea, that's the kind of thing we could go for!

Either that or an incredibly low and almost imperceptibly bassy note which might have the same effect. Or both!

Why not use their telepathic techniques for defense or offense as well? Like.. mess with the minds of their opponents? Just a thought~

The defences we discussed could well be partially telepathic!
