The man piloting the specially made stealth shuttle cruisers containing the chosen pilots from his sector was as nervous as can be. He prayed… prayed that nothing followed him. He wasn’t too sure if the kids behind him were really worth the trouble, but he was told that only he along with other shuttle pilots could get this job done and that it could save humanity. He questioned why they were sending it kids, but his answer was nothing but that to follow the orders he was given and to ensure that all the kids were picked up and dropped off safely.
He was 28 years old, a good 10 years or so older than these kids, and he was supposed to be entrusted with their lives?! Trying to calm himself, the pilot looked at the specific ship he was given as well. This is something that is clearly of high grade and difficult to use, for even someone who aced their class like him, he’s having trouble using this cruiser. A stealth function, being able to detect things with the long range scanners long before they jump within shooting distance, and much more… Just what else has the brains of humanity been holding back from the rest of us?
Not trying to think of it anymore, he just focused… focused on his task as he slowly reached his designation- only for a monotonous voice to cut over the intercom loudly, startling not only him but everyone else.
“Entering restricted area. State business or prepare to be shot down.”
Cold chills echoed over his body as he quickly panicked and grabbed for the enveloped. Ripping it open, he looked for the code he needed to enter the area… despite there being nothing at all within his view at all. He, along with all these kids were about to be killed for flying in empty space god damn it!
“Um… Ah… Gah… Uh?!” he gasped aloud until finally he found the exacting wording that he was to speak into the mic, along with the access codes. “This is Warrant Officer Joseph Berguns of Mankind’s 17th Division Alliance Fleet serving under Fleet Admiral Rodin Tokugawa. Sigma code 1954871, Delta Verlock- Project Living Alchemic Drive,” shouted Joseph as he responded into the mic.
It was tense within the ship… until finally a loud chime sounded.
“Welcome, Warrant Officer Joseph Berguns, to the Research Facility Delta Verlock, please avoid the Yamaguchi as you land into the docking bays and drop of the pilots. Please wait there for further instructions, and have a nice day,” spoke the voice before cutting off.
He paused, wondering what the voice meant by Yamaguchi when it was supposedly MIA years ago… when suddenly, the stealth systems of both the research facility and the dreadnaught revealed themselves.
It was stunning… to see the Yamaguchi as it was, almost in perfect condition as hovered over the facility keeping guard over it. So this is where it has been; one of Earth’s strongest dreadnaught capable of cleaving through an entire planet with its cannons. It was then, at that moment that Joseph saw more cruisers similar to his appearing; a smile emerged knowing that perhaps humanity did have a chance to come back. Things were safer here and nothing was going to get through the Yamaguchi, or the plethora of planetary defenses of Delta Verlock.
“So… these are all the kids, eh, Boris?” spoke a man in a lab coat as he flipped opened many files that a sudden larger and bulkier man handed him.
“We surprisingly found many potential candidates, Doc… All Frameworks should be ready to go as well,” spoke the man in a heavy Russian accent.
“Mind not calling me Doc?” his eyes twitch as he browsed the files silently, before glaring at the larger man. “I keep telling you to call me Doctor Lorenzo like everyone else.”
“Doc is easier and it annoys you too,” he said with a grin.
“Whatever… Now then, let us see what we have here…”
Hello, and welcome to Living Alchemic Drive, or LAD for short! This is a RP where you take the roll of a pilot who is aged 14-17 by scientists to pilot experiment Frameworks in hopes of defeating the Cruxi; a mysterious alien race hell-bent on destroying humanity for unknown reasons.
A lot of things that work in terms of your mech’s mobility or what not means its synchronization rate between it and its pilot (you in this case). The stronger your synchronization rate, the stronger your Framework is.
To further elaborate upon the Frameworks, the ones we are piloting are experimental and are also sentient; to put it simply, they choose their pilots rather than the pilots choosing them.
Thanks to harinezumikouken who sent me a link, I decided to take some verses and turn them into the following flashes before the pilot once they enter them as representations of how they choose their pilots:
“Under the Armor of God, you shall stand against the Devil.” If the particular Framework is yours.
“Even under the Armor of God, you shall fall to the Devil.” If the particular Framework does not belong to you- it will thus go berserk or try and kill you.
However, if it questions your beliefs and your ideals, and you are the true pilot, it will not respond to you until you can somehow convince the Framework otherwise to work for you- Again, the Frameworks are sentient beings.
Also, Frameworks are more realistic and high-military grade looking, so try to stay in that area. Although if you have questions, feel free to ask me.
Now that we’ve established a bit how Frameworks, well, work, it’s time to move onto other things. Yes, there are Cyborgs, Androids, and other Artificial Intelligence in this universe.
All other Roleplaying rules apply, but I’ll write those out when I have the actual chance, since I wanted to get this up as soon as possible.
And now, finally the Character Sheets!
Pilots
Name: What do people call you?
Age: Between the ages available, what is your given age?
Personality: Tell me how you act around others.
Battle-Style: Do you prefer being the Pointman taking the lead and taking all the damage to find a weak point for your teammates? Being the Berserker who relies on melee skills, a gunslinger with ranged, a sniper, or a jack of trades and a master of none? Just tell me how you prefer to fight is all!
Hospitalized Special One: This one is a bit tricky. Because of the war, there are a bunch of casualties. Who was that special someone who was a casualty that was sent back to Earth for emergency treatment, and you’re unable to see them now that you’re here? Is it mom, dad, brother, sister, or someone else?
Background: Tell me about yourself.
Other things: If there is anything else you believe that needs telling, say so here.
Frameworks
Framework Name: Tell me the name that has been given to your Framework.
Appearance: Obvious! Go by word descriptions, or you can go by pictures.
Primary Weapon-Type: What is your Framework’s signature weapon at all times; the stuff it can’t trade away since it is built in. Usually it is a powerful melee weapon or a strong rifle of sorts; it’s up to you.
Secondary Weapon Type: This is the minor Framework’s signature weapon; another weapon it can’t trade away. Think of built in lasers for the most part from certain joints/sockets or again another signature weapon.
Side-socket 1: What are held here? It could be extra ammo clips, or side arms. The things that it starts with on missions, but can trade away if necessary.
Side-socket 2: Same as number one.
Special Ability: All Frameworks have a special ability that they possess, what is yours? You won’t start off with this of course, but it will be unlocked eventually. These are not overpowered at all, they should only be strong enough to take down an army or help to destroy enemy ships.
Now with that all out of the way, if you have any questions, comments, or anything of the such, feel free to throw them my way and I'd be more than willing to oblige to reply! I don't bite after all~
