“…Well obviously, I know that!” Liaena snapped back at Rithrynn. Thea folded her arms together behind her desk, but did not comment.

“You don’t need to teach me about subtly, Rithrynn. You’re the one who’s lacking in that department”

A finger was stabbed in Bella’s direction, who was looking increasingly pale at the topic of conversation. Points scored, Liaena snatched her ‘battle plan’ back to poke at it viciously.

“The Red Vanguard draws the guard away from the waterfront, like Fran said. Empty buildings are good” Liaena nodded at Fran, with a brief smile indicating her approval of at least his input. “Although it doesn’t really matter how you do it. I guess you guys know best”

“I can go into the fort before you guys…using Hester” Liaena added that last part slightly unwillingly, shooting a glower at Rithrynn should she interpose any commentary about ever willingly shrinking herself. “Once I’m in there, I can easily cause enough trouble to have half the battalion looking the other way while you lot” she nodded at Rithrynn “get in whatever way Serphia feels like and go and get Kitty – Kathlin, and the Vanguards man. You think I can’t do that?”

“The keep will be warded”

“Hester….my owl. She can get past those” Liaena said by way of explanation, looking over to Thea with a shrug. “I don’t know how. It’s been tested”

“Figures you couldn’t keep that vile parrot out of anywhere…”

“So you will be splitting into two groups, then?” Thea pronounced quietly as she leaned back in her chair. “If there is a cultist element within this fort, that would leave you vulnerable, Rune.”

“Cultists?”

Bella said weakly. Thea ignored her, eyes remaining on Liaena. “…Although I cannot believe that every man within that organisation has sold himself to darker powers”

“I’d hope not” Liaena said quietly, before switching a lighter tone as she smiled at Thea. “I’ll be fine

“Hmm.”

Thea stared at the dark haired girl for a long time, before glancing over to check the clock on the shelf. The days were short at this time in the year, and although the weak afternoon light still lit the sky, it would not be there for much longer. “I have kept you long enough, apprentice and I have my own responsibilities to take care of. Be about your duties….and it was a pleasure to speak with you two. I hope you enjoyed your visit”

The priestess stated as she rose from her chair to nod to all of them politely. Recognising the obvious dismissal, Liaena climbed to her feet as she stared at Thea on tenterhooks. “Yes priestess. And what we talked about earlier…with assistance?”

“Yes, well.” Thea stated blandly as she set about tidying her desk around Rithrynn’s bum. “I understand that our leadership in their wisdom saw fit to provide Sharon Dal’dieb with protection against alleged threats to his life. As Father Marshall has seen fit to recall himself, it would be my duty to ensure that our protection is continued, nothing more”

“Ye…yeeess Priestess. Thank you Priestess” Liaena breathed as she backed away towards the door, pulling Rithrynn with her before she could say anything stupid. “And…uh, what sort of assistance will it be… exactly?”

“I will make enquiries. I am aware of your schedule” Thea gifted the girl with a sharp look and Liaena bit her tongue to avoid quizzing her further. Bella had also got up to make for the door until a word from Thea stopped her in her tracks. “Not you, Silva. I would like to have a word”

"Liaena is going to use that wretched owl of her to infiltrate the castle?"

Rithrynn's head had quickly shifted over to Liaena, the Night Elf carrying a highly amused expression at the idea of Liaena riding into the castle on her own treacherous owl. How much chocolate such an operation would cost in order to convince Hester of doing something genuinely productive was one question, but more amusing was the fact that Liaena would be shrinking herself.

The Night Elf was in the process of trying to restrain herself to avoid making a joke about the supposed necessity of Liaena even needing to shrink herself in the first place, considering her already small stature, but was soon interrupted as she noticed that Liaena was pulling in her cloak.

"What?" Rithrynn threw a perplexed stare down at the little human, who was giving her a dark stare in return while silently attempting to fruitlessly pull her from Thea's desk. Which would obviously be an impossible task, unless she so choose to help her herself. Whatever her purpose, it was obvious what Liaena wanted, and Rithrynn had doubts about the wisdom in incurring any further ire from Liaena. With a squeak of relief from Thea's desk, Rithrynn removed her rump from it and choose to follow Liaena as she headed for the door, exiting the room.

As they finally left Thea's study, it became clear that no small crowd of murmuring robed humans, the vast majority of them seemingly priestess apprentices like Bella, had congregated outside. The whispering and pointing between the gathering did not dissipate when Liaena and Rithrynn left the room, but rather seemed to increase in intensity!

"What was that about 'assistance'?" Rithrynn suddenly asked, throwing a curious expression down on Liaena.
"Are we getting some kind of support? Holy warriors to join us?"

The Night Elf inquired, her mind running through all the possible scenarios. Usually focused on the dramatic ones, with the possibility of a small battalion of holy paladins in golden armor coming to help them in their assault on Honor's Watch! Although she had no high opinion of human faith, or ignorance, it would still have been neat to see!

As Kathlin frantically scrambled to undo the runes on the floor, she could feel as if all heat was sapped from her hands as she touched the runes. A faint, pitch black mist occurred where she weaved some of the runes out of pattern, the smoke sending a wave of discomfort through her body when it touched her skin.

"No, you're ruining it!"
"Stop that girl!"

*SMACK*

The angered cries of the cultists however, were soon drowned out by the reverberating echo that filled Kathlin's ears when the bottom of a staff suddenly hit her in the side of her head; knocking the girl over and across the floor as the battlemage behind her had intervened. Following her as she tumbled across the cold stone floor, he raised his staff as to strike again, but before he could bring it down again, Sevarian had shot his hand forward to stall the vengeful attack.

"NO!" The Knight Commander's voice sounded as he addressed the battlemage.

"She will die, but none sooner than I command it it!"

The battlemage looked back at Sevarian from through his steel mask, before lowering his staff and stepping back away from Kathlin. Sevarian looked down at her, his calm, cool expression having faded to give way to an irritated look.

"Redraw the runes, the sacrifices will be here soon." Sevarian commanded, though the four other cultists had already scrambled to redraw the runes on the floor themselves, bringing out pouches of mystical powder while scraping the disturbed substance off the floor. Slowly walking towards Kathlin, Sevarian slowly raised a hand up in front of him.

As he did so, Kathlin could feel a pair of invisible, ice cold hands suddenly tug at her, lifting her up into the air until she hovered before Sevarian. With another turn of his hand, she suddenly flew through the air to smash against a pillar by the wall. As she crashed against the pillar, multiple spectral arms emerged from stone behind her to grasp around her, holding her against the pillar in a secure, almost suffocating grip!

"We are on a delicate time table, little girl. Any delay you cause will only prolong your suffering needlessly!" Sevarian said with an annoyed tone as he stepped closer to where Kathlin was bound to the pillar.
"I recommend you forsake any hope of rescue, for it will only bring disappointment. Only the White Hand may enter the impenetrable walls of Honor's Watch, and even if they should show up, none of the king's nor the church's men could ever hope to navigate the bowels of this fortress. This is my temple, my sanctum, and no living man may ever disturb its sanctity and walk away."

Behind him, the door to the room suddenly swung open, as a line of five imprisoned trolls, all wearing little more than the chains on their hands, with the exception of a tattered loincloth and the odd tribal tattoos. Behind the prisoners walked a familiar chevalier, whose chestplate was bent inwards where an axe once had hit him. It was the same person Kathlin had met at the mansion, and upon entering the room behind the prisoners, he turned his silent mask in the direction of Kathlin, eyeing her from his black visors with a look of familiarity, before turning his attention back to the trolls he was escorting.

"Line the prisoners against the walls, the rituals will commence shortly!" One of the cultists who had looked up from his work with redrawing the runes, instructed the the peculiar chevalier, who silently went about steering the trolls against the walls on the opposite end of the circular room to Kathlin. None of the prisoners seemed to be giving any resistance, the trolls seemed to all be staring down at the floor with the same silence as that of their escort, as if they had long since accepted death. Their blue hide carried numerous scars and signs of abuse, and some of them barely seemed capable of walking.

Having eyed the arrival of the new prisoners, Sevarian turned to look back up at Kathlin.

"Once, I used to work for an organization that had seemingly limitless... supplies, for my work. Now I have to craft my spells from scratch. It is not a problem for a man of my talent, but sometimes, I do miss the resources, and the lack of scrutiny, of my... former employer." Sevarian spoke with a soft tone, throwing Kathlin a devious smile.
"Fortunately, it is easy to find fuel for my spells thanks to the White Hand's extensive operations."

"I am no social expert, but I do believe that is the beginning of a long series of rumors and epic stories right there." Fran said as the dwarf eyed the murmuring crowd outside of Thea's office, who in turn watched the trio closely as they walked away.

It did not help the crowd that the large halls of the cathedral seemed to amplify the smallest of sound, making what would have normally been a faint murmur to sound more reminiscent of a busy day at one of the larger markets at Stormwind.

"Trust me, if what the lass is saying about the cultist connection is true among the bloody lillies, then yer gonna need all the help you can get!" Fran mentioned as they had passed out of ear's reach from the crowd behind them as he looked up at the much taller Night Elf walking next to him.
"I fought in the Third War, and I know that I wouldn't have been here if it hadn't been for a couple of Paladins that I fought beside in Lordearon. Normal weapons and strong arms, however skilled, will only get you so far against the Scourge. But even against a watered down version of it, you will still need help. Dark magic, and the machinations produced by it, are not to be taken lightly, lass."

The dwarf talked, remembering back when he had fought in the Third War. Indeed, the Red Vanguard had fought many battles against the relentless, undead hordes of the Scourge as they ravaged the human kingdoms. But in most of those battles, they usually had help from some Paladins, or armed priests of the light to help fend off the worst the Scourge had to offer. But even if there were no death knights or greater undead abomination or wretched spirit, the simple undead minions could prove difficult to cut down.

While a normal man would likely bleed to death if stabbed in the right place, one could not count on the same with an undead, whose blood had long since clotted and dried up.

"I once had to strike one of those damned undead twelve times. TWELVE TIMES, before the bugger finally went down. I'll tell ye, if not for the light, some of the battles that we won would have been lost by us succumbing to exhaustion."

“You have no idea” Liaena said darkly in response to Fran’s comment about the Cathedral’s active and thriving rumour mill. A couple of the apprentices lurking outside Thea’s room, some of whom looked as young as twelve, drifted hopefully after Liaena and she turned around to snap ferociously at them as they scattered. “Beat it! Go on!”

Fran’s reminiscence about his experiences in Lordearon were as well intentioned as they were fraying on the nerves for Liaena, and she chewed on her lip as she hurried for the main doors, rather than snap at her currently most willing ally. Finally spilling out onto the stone steps though, the colour of the sky stopped her in her tracks.

The sky was a faint golden-ish yellow flecked of grey, the weak rays of the winter sun almost done. There could not be more than half an hour left of light, tops and Liaena felt a chill of dread clutch at her heart. “Oh, Light…it’s later than I thought”

“We have to go….now. Fran, I’m sorry, but can you take it from here?” Liaena turned to the dwarf as she pressed a gold piece into his palm irrespective of any protests he might have. “…Take this, get a cab and tell Darius everything that’s happened. We’ll be moving as soon as it gets dark, so do anything you can to draw the guard away from the waterfront. And…thanks”

Turning away from the dwarf with a final squeeze of his hand, Liaena descended the steps with Rithrynn right behind her. Despite the gathering evening, there were still some tourists wandering around in the square with the occasional cabbie loitering hopefully. Liaena made a beeline for one of these.

“Hey! That’s ours, girl!”

“OFFICIAL BUSINESS! …And I tip more” Liaena screamed back as she got a leg up onto the drivers seat. The cabbie turned to give her a dirty look, a look which promptly vanished when he saw the glitter of gold in her hand. “It’s all yours if we’re at the Mage District in under five minutes. Got that?”

“Y-yes! Ma’am!” The cabbie spluttered as he flicked his whip and his horses reared into life. Taking another desperate look at the sky, Liaena turned to Rithrynn who had opted to sit on top of the carriage rather than climb inside it. “And…I think so. Hopefully. Thea said she’d do something”

The promise of all that glitters clearly inspired the driver to push the legal traffic rules to new limits, as he zoomed through the streets of Stormwind at an amazing, and what could only be a very dangerous speed.

Rithrynn found herself having to dive down and lie flat across the top of the cabbie when the first archway came, as to avoid being knocked right off the wagon! Houses and people were passing them quickly, and the wheels slid dangerously on from side to side on the slushy ice roads.

"Do we really have to go this fast?!" Sounded the worried voice of Rithrynn as she held on for dear life to the cab, predicting a violent crash at any moment!

"We have no time to waste, Kitty's in danger!"

"I know, but surely it would increase her chances of being rescued if we were ALIVE by the time we reach Sharon's house!"

"What?"

"I said,-"

"I don't understand you!"

As much as Rithrynn wished to protest, the Night Elf found herself becoming more focused on simply not falling off the wagon whenever it made a violent turning, prioritizing survival above filing complaints to Liaena! At one nasty turn, the carriage even slid into the stone wall with a crash, almost throwing her off before continuing, but Rithrynn managed to bolt her hands to the roof as if hell itself would consume her if she let go for just a moment!

However, the cab driver did hold his word in reaching Sharon's house in a surprising short amount of time.

But as the carriage thundered down the street, it made a violent brake; sliding multiple meters until it stopped right outside of Sharon's property, and spilling the gate watcher with a flying wave of dirty, wet snow! Rithrynn, in question, found herself sliding forward on the roof, falling headfirst onto the row between Liaena and the cab driver, doing a flip before landing with both of her boots on the back of the horses!

"Ashei felar no digrebei! Shash 'o din feena rithe lo vashis!" Rithrynn spat out something that was presumably a series of heated curses as the Night Elf slowly inched her way up from the gap between the horses and the wagon, to sit on the row next to Liaena. The Night Elf's heart was almost at her throat, threatening to burst out of her skin as she tried to gather herself.

"This is the second worst means of transportation I know of. Next time, I bring the cats! You understand?!" Rithrynn almost shouted to Liaena sitting next to her.

"Who's riding that that cab? Who?!" Sounded the furious voice of the Night Elven gatewatcher as she came through the gate, covered in a fresh layer of wet snow as two furious, silver eyes shifted between the three people sitting on the front of the cab. With bow and arrow in hand, she aimed it at them, centering at the cab driver to the furthermost left.
"This cloak was newly made, you WILL pay for that!"

“What…?” The cab driver quailed under the furious gaze of the Night Elf, before pointing frantically at Liaena who was sitting next to him. “Not my fault Ma’am! She made me do it! Talk to her!”

“Rithrynn, go and find Serphia and tell her we need to move! I’m going to go find Sharon” Liaena instructed as she clambered off the carriage, tossing the small purse to the trembling cabbie and ignoring the Night Elf on guard save for a single glance. “I’ll ask Miss Collins to get it washed for you. Open the gates, would you!”

“Don’t tell me what to –“

“LIEUTENANT!”

Liaena slipped through the gate the moment the extremely disgruntled watcher had opened it to run at full tilt towards the house. Brushing aside the door-rug and moving past two Watchers, she stepped into the now-quiet front atrium.

“Welcome back, Lady Rune”

“….T-thanks Fredrick” Liaena gasped as she looked around the quiet hall. “Where’s Sharon? In his office?”

“Actually I believe he is currently in his dressing room, Lady Rune. If you would like me to lay out a change—“

“No! Thanks. Talk later!” Liaena shouted back over her shoulder as she started running again, up two flights of stairs and along the corridor to burst into the room she shared with Sharon. Naliyah was still snoring, entirely obliviously in the bed as she stepped past her into the small ante-chamber that housed Sharon’s wardrobe. “Sharon! I got the Vanguard to create a distraction for us and we’re going to have some help coming in from the Cathedral and I asked Rithrynn to get Serphia moving out for dusk and – what’s that you’re wearing?”

“……..”

Liaena surveyed the fresh robes, the battle armour glinting underneath and the staff in the High Elfs hand as her face paled by several degrees. Shaking her head she took a step backward, to fold her arms across her chest and make an attempt at a commanding tone. “No.”

"Rithrynn, go and find Serphia!"

" ... why do I always get the most dangerous missions?!" Rithrynn complained, but her words fell on deaf ears as Liaena had already charged through the gate as an over-eager dog to make a beeline for the mansion door.

Letting out a sigh, Rithrynn threw a sour gaze after Liaena as the human's backside disappeared through the front door.

"Why do I even bother... " Rithrynn muttered in a defeated tone as she happily jumped off the carriage, which felt great considering the terrible trip she had gone through! Turning to look towards the still fuming watcher by the gate, Rithrynn threw her a pat on the shoulder.

"Please don't kill any monkeys, it'd really make Serphia sad... "

"Oh, I don't need to kill them!"

" ... "

"Alright, alright!"

Delilah, the gatekeeper grumbled, throwing a dark stare towards the cab driver. The cab driver in question had no desire to stay around and risk becoming a potential pin cushion, and so cracked his whip and flew off with his carriage even faster than he had arrived. Walking through the garden at a much more slower pace than Liaena, Rithrynn would eventually reach the door to the mansion and peek in.

There was surprisingly little activity in the atrium to Rithrynn's surprise, with only a few empty goblets, plates and pillows scattered on the floor, alongside a semi naked sentinel sleeping on one of the sofas against the walls.

There were however no small volume of noise coming from the living room, as usual, and so Rithrynn was quick to make it her destination as she passed through the lower floor of Sharon's mansion, which at that point was becoming more and more filled with trash and ruined furniture. It seemed as if even Friedrick's amazing talent at creating tidiness wherever the man went was now finally becoming strained!

"Hey, guys!" Rithrynn exclaimed as she entered the living room, which was still playing host, or rather; victim, to the warband's fierce party! Walking up to the nearest crowd of her sisters which had gathered around a table, she would elbow herself into the circle.
"Have you seen captain Serphia?"

The question arose many amused, intoxicated faces and a bit of laughter as the Sentinels looked between each other, before gazing back up at Rithrynn standing over them.

"What, aren't you supposed to be the Lieutenant?"

"I think she went to have a nap. It was too noisy!"

"Noo, obviously she went to have some fun with Falere!"

"Thi-hihih!"

"Hey, I'm just glad Falere finally found the place she belonged!"

"True, their love has been in the making for too long. Awww!"

"Hey Ri, any plan of joining her once your time as a Lieutenant is done?"

"Hahaha!"

"Very funny... " Rithrynn commented, resisting the temptation to smack some faces.
" ... where is she?"

" ... I don't know, in the guest room you left her in?"

"Right. Thanks for the help." Rithrynn concluded, removing herself from the conversation.

"Ri! Say hi to Naliyah from me!"

"Hihi, you should go and check on her!"

" ... "

Rithrynn turned around without saying anything further, and walked out. If she was ever going to bomb her sisters with a shrink bomb before inviting Naliyah to the room, it would have to happen later. Right now, she unfortunately had more pressing matters!

When he first heard someone approaching from behind him, the High Elf assumed that it was Naliyah who had finally gotten out of his bed. It made him harbor a sense of unease. Had he accidentally woken the beast?

But as he turned around, it turned out that it was not Naliyah at all who had entered the room behind. The creature that entered the ante chamber lacked the long ears, the striking pink hair, as well as a couple of feet in height too to be Naliyah. Sharon had to lower his gaze to see Liaena who, in turn, was giving him a mortified expression; as if she could not be believing what she was actually seeing.

"No."

"Welcome back, Liaena! How was your day?" Sharon was quick to greet Liaena with a friendly smile the moment he saw her, a smile that was not returned in any form by the girl's considerably paler feature. For a moment, she almost looked as pale as his brother!

" ... you are NOT coming along!"

The High Elf let out a sigh, his previous words washing like a wave off a cliff on Liaena's face.

"I tire of my office, Liaena. It is time I resumed the hunt for our enemies." Sharon explained, retaining his calm voice in the face of Liaena who at that point looked like she was about to scream at him at anytime!

"That's what we have the Night Elves for!"

"And who will help them? Or you for that matter?" Sharon returned with a question, the High Elf eyeing Liaena.
"I haven't seen your plan yet, Liaena, but I will not be surprised if you haven't placed yourself on the front line."

Sharon took a couple of steps forward towards the human girl, until he stood at an arm's length from her. Smiling softly at her, he would raise a hand to place at her shoulder.

"My brother expects my inaction. We would be stronger together, and more likely to succeed. And this is a mission we cannot fail."

“You’re Sherpa’s main target!” Liaena retorted furiously, looking in no way soothed by Sharon’s overtures as she brushed the hand of appeal off her shoulder to glower up at her lover. “It’s way too dangerous!”

Choosing to ignore Sharon’s all-too-perceptive remark about her own intended role in the operation, the girl glanced out of the window again at the setting sun. “…and there isn’t the time for this, Sharon! You are NOT coming, and that’s that”

“Liaena…”

“I mean it!” Liaena cried out forcefully. Taking a step back and drawing herself up to her full – unimpressive – height in an attempt to look more authorative, she stabbed a finger up at the High Elf who was giving her a passive I-knew-you’d-react-like-this sort of look. It did not improve her temper. “For all you know, this could all be a trap set for you by Sherpa! If you come with us, it’d just be playing into his hands!”

“…If that’s the case…” Sharon returned, still managing to maintain the same calm tone as he spoke. Liaena wished he would shout. It would make it so much easier to rage at him. “…You would be springing it in my place, Liaena”

“Yes, well. That’s my business” The girl returned stubbornly after a moments pause. Liaena balled her fists by her sides as she glared up at the High Elf. “I need to deal with this, okay? But there is NO way I’m letting you get into danger because – because of this! This isn’t your fight!”

Leaving the living room behind, Rithrynn would traverse back through the atrium to the other side to search for the guest room in which she had left Serphia. It occurred to her that she had somehow managed to forget which door lead to the room in question, and so she instead decided to take a moment to listen for any 'familiar' sounds from any of the doors. Managing to block out all the extra noise coming from the living room, Rithrynn managed to filter out a couple of voice and low moaning coming from one of the doors.

Quickly shifting over to it, she'd grab the handle and pull it up.

"Mistress Serphia, I need to,-" Rithrynn began as she moved her head through the door to look into the darkened room, only to spot two of her sisters in a rather intimate position. Or was it three?

" ... "

"Sorry about that, carry on!"

Before any of them could mount any coherent answer or question beyond mere gasps and lewd looks, Rithrynn had already smacked the door shut to continue further along the hallway, trying to remember the door to the guest chamber she had used. That was, until she came across a rather familiar looking door, identified by the battered frame around it. Taking a much more careful approach this time, Rithrynn would slowly open the door to peek inside.

It was definitely the room she had been looking for, the first giveaway being the crushed chair lying around on the floor, being one of the first objects to come within her view.

"But where is Serphia?"

Rithrynn would glance around the room as she'd open the door for full, finding no trace of her Captain. However, when she stepped into the room, she heard a distant squeaking noise coming from a room further ahead, accompanied by a low moan. Continuing through the guest room to the door on the other side, Rithrynn would listen for a moment, before reaching to grab the handle on the door. Again, practicing the same caution as before, she'd slowly slide it open to gaze inside.

As she looked into the room, she immediately found both her quarry, and the source of the noise.

Rithrynn's eyes were quickly fixated on her Captain, who was perched on top of a silk bed, face down in the pillow and with her big, purple butt high up in the air, wearing little more than an undersized thong. And looking very happy by the looks of it. Taking a moment just to stareat her Captain in a stunned expression as Serphia arched her back in a deep moan, Rithrynn would eventually slap herself, before stepping into the room.

"Uhm, mistress?"

"Mmmhm, Get out or get in, Syn'dial." Serphia would reply in a slightly annoyed tone, as she'd wriggle her butt from side to side. Throwing her Captain's backside an odd glare, Rithrynn would kneel down besides the bed.

"Mistress, we need to prepare for the assault. The time is now."

Letting out a sigh, Serphia would turn around and sit up in the bed, the undersized human bed squeaking as she moved about. Moving a hand across her forehead to give it a rub, Serphia would smile softly as she'd move her hips around.

"How is Falere?" Rithrynn asked, trying to smile in return to her Captain.

"Ohh, deep... " Serphia would answer with a giggle, as she leaned forward.
"I never realized she and Shani were such good partners. Even if I wanted to, I doubt I could get them out."

"That's adorable," Rithrynn replied with a slight maniacal tone in her voice, clearly highly amused by Falere's predicament.
"But, the assault. We need to gather our warriors!"

"Hmf, I suppose I'll have to get back to you two later." Serphia would whisper playfully down at her lap, wriggling her butt on the bed. For a quiet moment, it was almost as if Rithrynn could hear the combined, furious screams of both Shani and Falere, emanating from her captain's rear. But that was probably just her mind playing tricks, and so Rithrynn shook her head.

"Very well, let us get this over with. I always wanted to conquer that fort since the moment I first saw it."

"This isn’t your fight!”

"If it wasn't for me, there would be no conflict at all." Sharon commented dryly.
"Sherpa, who is my dear brother, would simply have continued his unholy rampage happily ever after. It is my continued existence that is his current conundrum."

" ... "

"Considering the fact that I am the sole reason for this war, and the fact that the enemy is my very own flesh and blood, I do believe that this is my fight, moreso than anyone else's."

Sharon looked at Liaena, who at that point seemed like she was about to tear her own hair out in frustration. The High Elf had seen Liaena in many different moods, many of them bad as well, but he could not recall the sheer seething anger and frustration displayed by the little girl in the current moment. Given the fumes emanating from the top of Liaena's head, the High Elf was almost worried that a pair of laser beams would suddenly shoot out from the girl's eyes and disintegrate him on the spot, given her deadly stare!

"I SAID YOU ARE NOT GOING! CAN'T YOU HEAR? WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING SUCH HUGE EARS IF YOU CAN'T HEAR ME?!"

"I am not about to leave you and Rithrynn out in the cold." Sharon said, the High Elf masterfully retaining a calm and cheerful tone. Moving his attention past Liaena, he suddenly began to walk past her towards the exit of the ante chamber, daringly choosing to ignore any complaints from Liaena.

As he walked, Sharon felt his muscles instinctively tense in anticipation of possibly being tackled by the little girl from behind.

"Come now, sweetheart. Let us find your friend Rithrynn and Serphia so that we can start this mission."

"Ggrrrrwwlll... !!!"

“Don’t you – _**you don’t get to walk away from this!**_” Liaena seethed furiously at Sharon’s departing back as the High Elf strolled casually out of the room. Running to catch up, she darted around the elf to block his path just as he was about to reach out a hand to open the bedroom, to stab a finger at him with her eyes flashing dangerously. “You don’t **GET** to patronise me, or treat me like a child! Now **LISTEN TO ME, DAMN IT!**” “Zzzaaww, Rithy…ooos got a frowny face, mmh? Zzzzzzz…” Having been just about to open her mouth to scream at Sharon again, Liaena stalled instead to snap her head towards the bed where Naliyah had stirred, rearing her butt up into the air before settling down again. “ZzzzzZZzzzzz….” As the elf’s snoring filled the room again, Liaena found a lot of righteous fury had drained away from her as she looked back at Sharon to give him a black, but much less dangerous glare. “That’s the whole **point**, Sharon. You need to stay safe, because if you don’t, he wins” “….” “Look. This mission tonight – it might not go according to plan, okay!?” The girl hissed finally after a long silence, casting a furtive glance towards the window as though some Night Elf might be passing by and hear her blasphemous words. Hester, perched on the ledge, simply gave her a bored look in return. “We don’t know what’s in there, or how many guards there are, and we’re flying in blind. I’m not saying it _will_, but you can’t come with us because if this goes south, we need someone to keep fighting him! That someone’s you, and playing the hero is a lot less important than stopping Sherpa going on an ‘unholy rampage’, as you put it” Having had her eyes locked on Sharon throughout this entire speech, Liaena folded her arms across her chest as if daring for him to object as she looked up at him. “Which is why you’re going to the Cathedral tonight. There’s people there that know the situation, and you’ll be safer than staying here with a load of pissed Night Elves. Are we clear?”

"It's a long climb, have our warriors only bring a light kit. The weather has gotten warmer, and it's a quick operation, and so a full winter kit is not necessary. Only cloak." "Yes, mistress!" Rithrynn replied as she hastily followed after Serphia's long strides as the pair headed out into the atrium of Sharon's mansion. As they arrived there, Serphia suddenly paused, to look down at the sleeping night elf in the couch next to her. ... *CRASH* "**Wake up, Saleen!**" Serphia shouted as she violently kicked the couch, causing it to topple over alongside the Night Elf on top of it, the latter barely managing to emit a yelp before she rolled onto the floor with a thud. "Wha-who-wher?!!? ... mistress?" The Sentinel, Saleen, who was lying on the floor, wearing nothing but a thong; stared at Serphia's feet, before her gaze eventually climbed to look up at Rithrynn and Serphia standing over her. With a moment of realization, she immediately jumped to her feet to salute her Captain, right hand over her heart and left hand behind her back. "Climbing gear and light kit only; gather here in five minutes, Saleen!" Serphia commanded, and Saleen couldn't wait to turn around and make a run for the line of gear against the atrium walls placed there by the Night Elven warband. Turning her attention away from the frantic wardrobe show of Saleen as the sentinel scrambled to find her gear, Serphia's attention turned to Rithrynn as she looked down at her. "Alongside Saleen I want Alissah, Lithrielle, Delilah, Vashi, Shani and Anastia present here. **Now!**" Serphia instructed as she towered over Rithrynn. The Sentinel gazed up at her for a moment, before carefully opening her mouth. "Uhh, of course, mistress... " Rithrynn carefully started, her eyes slowly moving down to focus on her Captain's wide thighs. " ...but Shani is in your ass, isn't she?" " ... oh, right; I forgot." Serphia suddenly said, her dark expression suddenly becoming multiple degrees lighter as she giggled. "Find someone else to take her place. Shani is on a mission from which she cannot be disturbed." Serphia said with a wicked grin as she rested a hand upon her hips. "Yes, mistress!" Not wanting to wait around for Serphia's mood to sour again, Rithrynn quickly performed a salute before she turned around to race back towards the living room to find the rest of the selected elves to join on the mission, gracefully dodging a flying helmet that swooped through the air from Saleen's frantic fashion show.

Having thrown a worrisome look towards the sleeping Night Elf in the room, half fearing the possibility that Liaena's high volume protests might have awakened Naliyah, Sharon's head eventually turned to look back at the smaller human who had adamantly blocked the exit to the room. Contemplating the possibility of levitating Liaena up into the roof, an action that surely would come back to haunt him later on, the High Elf decided to try the diplomatic approach. "The protection of the church would mean little, and I doubt they could protect me in the long run." Sharon explained, retaining his peaceful tone in the presence of the persistent Liaena. "Sherpa's plans extend far beyond the mere battle with his older brother, and if I fled, it is likely that they would continue; to whatever end." Sharon tried to reason with the little girl, though reason from Liaena when it concerned his own safety was hard come by. Letting out a sigh, Sharon let his staff sit loosely in his hand as he stared down at Liaena, taking a moment before saying anything. Letting his head hang slightly as he gazed at her, he would eventually continue. "The importance of this battle cannot be overstated. It encompasses far more than a mere rescue mission. Success in this endeavor could even lead to the banishment of the White Hand, if luck was on our side. But just as success holds great reward, failure will have dire consequences. The loss of you, Rithrynn and Serphia, would leave me exposed, as well as handicapped in the fight against Sherpa and his seemingly limitless agents. I would survive the day, only to remain a vulnerable target in remaining weeks and months. And my brother is in no hurry to finish the job. I cannot hire mercenaries forever, but the power of my brother's personal army will keep growing." Sharon explained, taking a good time with each sentence and keeping a steady volume all the way through. Partly to make it more digestible and coherent, but also as to not awaken Naliyah either. The door to the bedroom was after all still locked. "With the kidnapping of your friend, Sherpa has forced out hands. I cannot afford to sit idle. The success of this mission is paramount, and we cannot afford to fail." Sharon eventually continued, suddenly smiling down at Liaena. "And if things really go to hell, my magical expertise will be invaluable in getting us out!"

**“You’re still not listening to me!” **Liaena snarled straight back, although without the volume her voice would normally possess. Another glance towards the sleeping Naliyah meant that there were no secrets regarding the reason for that. “You are **NOT** going! End of!” “……” A silence fell at this point, with the girl giving Sharon the nastiest glare she could find in lieu of shouting any further. The High Elf pretended not to see it, opting instead to give her that peaceable smile that was doing an excellent job of getting under her skin._ “I should’ve just knocked him out”_ Studying Sharon with the eyes of a predator, Liaena was forced to conclude that there was a lot less available bare skin to dart-gun than when she was pitted against the stripperific Night-Elves. In addition, he was also watching her carefully and Liaena was inclined to think that he had more than a passing suspicion of her current thought process. _ “I should have brought him to the Cathedral with me. And **then** knocked him out”_ “Liaena? Sweetheart, we need to leave” “I KNOW THAT! IT’S **YOU**, THAT’S MAKING THIS HARDER, BECAUSE WE ARE WASTING TIME WITH THIS!!” Liaena exploded back at him with a vengeance that could never have been anticipated from Sharon’s placid words. In truth, it appeared that just about anything the High Elf said could have triggered an onslaught from the over emotional girl as she stabbed a furious finger at him. “I don’t care about your reasons! Or your magic! You’re still going to go to the Cathedral, and you’re going to stay there, or…” “……..” Unable to think of a particularly effective threat as the seconds dragged on, Liaena felt her shoulders sag with an emotion that felt suspiciously like it could be defeat. The girl could feel a persistent burning behind her eyes as she looked up at him miserably. “….**please**”

Not much time had passed before a strike squad of eight Night Elven sentinels had gathered in Sharon's atrium, including Rithrynn and Vashi, with Serphia in charge. They were wearing simpler black and purple silk loincloths, cloaks, chestguards, shoulderpads, greaves and vambraces, in favor of the heavier winter robes that they had arrived with. All of the elves were armed with their own bow and quiver, alongside a selection of melee weapons of their choice and ropes and hooks for the expected climb. But despite the fact that the sisters had formed a near perfect line in which they stood before the Captain, Serphia noticed that a lot of the faces of her warriors were dull, unfocused or just looking sloven. "You all look terrible!" Were the first words to escape Serphia's mouth as she scanned her warriors, all of whom looked fairly wasted from the partying with the few exceptions of Vashi and Rithrynn. Deciding that assaulting Honor's Watch with a strike squad afflicted with severe hangovers would be a bad idea, Serphia turned her attention to Vashi. "Vashi, do you have any of those Sparkleaf potions of yours left?" "Uh, yes, mistress! I do!" Vashi quickly responded, looking excited at being addressed by her Captain! Of the strike squad, none displayed a more energetic impulse than Vashi as the Night Elven magi scrounged through her satchel hanging from her torso to produce a couple of faintly green potions. Uncorking one of them, it released a stringent aroma that immediately pierced the nostrils of anyone in the magi's proximity. "Sisters, you have ten minutes to unfuck yourselves. Then we leave." Serphia commanded as she followed the distribution of Vashi's hangover cure, before her attention fell on Rithrynn. "Syn'dial, come with me for the moment." "Of course mistress, what for?" Rithrynn was quick to ask as she ran to follow up with her Captain whom had turned to begin walking up the stairs. "I need that High Elf of yours... " * "He was not in his office... " "No no, then he is probably in his bedroom, which is just over here... somewhere." Rithrynn explained to Serphia as she lead her Captain through the maze of corridors that constituted the upper levels of Sharon's estate. Arriving outside of Sharon's bedroom, the two elves could hear a fair murmur emanating from within. "High Elf!" Serphia called out with an intimidating tone as she walked forward to grab the door knob, but upon attempting to open it; it seemed like there was something blocking it on the other side. "Maybe it's locked?" Rithrynn commented, looking up at her Captain; who was currently giving the door a very dark stare. "Maybe you should... " ***BRACK*** Without any warning, Serphia had raised her foot to kick in the door with the face of her boot! Liaena, who had been blocking the door for Sharon on the other end, suddenly found herself shoved aside by the opening door, before being promptly squeezed right into the wall behind it! The violent entry was also enough to wake up Naliyah, who scrambled around in her bed with a snort of surprise, before tumbling off and landing on the floor with her butt! "Oh, Elune... eh, m-mistress?" Naliyah muttered, still trying to gather herself as she stared at Serphia as the Captain marched into the room. "I didn't know, oh, and HI RITHY!" Rithrynn, upon seeing Naliyah, subtly took a step behind Serphia, as if to hide herself behind her Captain. Serphia, who's eyes had been on Sharon all the time, gazed down at the High Elf while resting her hands on her hips. "It is time to go, High Elf. The mission is starting!" Serphia would brief him, before throwing a slight look around the room. "And... where is that human midget associate of yours?"

“….please” Sharon let out a sigh as he looked down at the pleading eyes of Liaena, which in their own way looked a little adorable. With a contemplative expression, Sharon raised the back of his index finger up to his jaw. _"High Elf!"_ ... "I guess I... " ***BRACK*** "**It is time to go, High Elf.**" Within the blink of an eye, before the High Elf had a chance to continue, the door directly behind Liaena had slammed open, Liaena had vanished, and instead been replaced by the towering presence of Rithrynn's infamous Captain, Serphia, who now loomed over Sharon like a dark cloud. Merely standing dumbstruck in his spot, finger raised and mouth open. Staring past Serphia, Sharon could see Rithrynn cowering meekly behind her Captain, presumably hiding from the now awoken Naliyah behind him. It took some moments before the High Elf could mentally construct a coherent sentence, having been taken by surprise by the sudden arrival of Serphia. " ... ah... ah, yes, the mission!" Sharon finally answered. "And, as for the human, who's name is Liaena Rune, she is... " Sharon paused for a moment, the High Elf's azure eyes passing by Serphia's hips to focus on the door behind her which had almost gone and buried itself directly into the wall!

“**Not a midget**” came the low, slightly slurred angry rumble as Liaena oozed out from behind the heavy door sporting a brand new bloody nose, to glower up at Serphia who looked decided disinterested. “**You**. Are just….” _“Don’t destroy all Night Elves, you need them to save Kathlin. Don’t destroy all Night Elves, you need them to save Kathlin”_ “…too big.” Looking up at Serphia, Liaena glanced between her, and the main object of the formers interest, Sharon. A heavy frown settled on her forehead as she slowly tumbled to the Night Elfs intent. “He’s not going“ “Well, I suppose that’s all of you. Come along High Elf, we don’t have time to waste” “I said—“ Liaena began forcefully as Serphia turned and strode out of the room. Sharon followed, at least having the grace to give her a slightly apologetic look and a pat on the shoulder as he made haste to exit the room before she could reformulate a suitable argument. And Rithrynn was already long gone, walking as fast as she dared away from the Naliyah-infested bedroom while not actually outpacing her notoriously short-tempered Captain. “……….” ** -CRASH-** A vase of flowers, placed with loving care by Frederick took the brunt of Liaena’s less-than-stellar mood as she slammed a foot into the delicate side table it was sitting on, causing flowers, water and broken glass to smash all over the floor. Shuffling about in Sharons bed, Naliyah pouted winsomely as she ogled the door Rithrynn had just left by. “Aw. Is Rithy going out….?” Clearly sizing up the pros of chasing after Rithrynn versus the cons of chasing Serphia by association, the threat of Serphia won out as she settled down again with a giggle. “I guess I’ll keep the bed warm for her then, hihi” “You do that” Liaena muttered as she continued to give the empty doorway a stare that could have melted lead. Taking a glance out of the window where the sky had darkened to a deep red, she shook her head before running to follow the group.
