I'm starting to think I want a different pokemon than Monferno. I chose him because I was thinking Cody would have a starting pokemon, but he doesn't fit the breeding team so well. What would is probably a pokemon with some good moves for catching pokemon. So would it be too late to change my mind? Especially since no one has interacted with my character yet?

Always pick a pokemon with either false swipe or hold back. Those are essential for catching pokemon (except if you try to catch ghost types, ofcourse...). I can PM you a list with pokemon that learn those moves.

I was thinking about that. Absol can learn mean look and false swipe, and Smeargle can learn any move. I could actually have him teach moves to pokemon. I will make the change. If I could have a full team, I wouldn't mind having a Chansey with soft boiled and heal bell too. Maybe Cody will just have to go looking for one. I actually got mixed up between my character sheet and something else, because it says I have a smeargle, and no Monferno. I shouldn't be this bad. :P I may be more out of practice than I thought.
