Ssarak Dyreackthanose --- Most of the guards were still angry, which was perfectly understandable, but the robed man seemed much more calm. Unfortunately the amount he demanded in reparation was far above reasonable. It was possible that it was simply a high first offer which could be haggled, but in any case, it was far too much for them to pay. It did, however, open up an avenue of conversation that could get them through witout further violence, as the promise of gold could, even a smaller mount, could significantly lower the weary guards' willingness to fight. Lyn had also revealed herself, which was concerning, but as long as they were still negotiating, Meirin would have time to get her back into the wagon. "I understand your anger, as I would share it in your position, but you know that a bloody nose and bruised neck is not worth three years pay. The idea of reparations, however, is not unreasonable. OUr friend was out of line. It was her judgment, her mistake, and it should be her consequences. I can offer all of her gold for the transgression. It is not three years pay, but it is a price we are actually capable of paying. This is gold on top of the normal toll, for your own use. It goes to yourselves, not your superiors, and most of all, it comes at no risk to you. You need not fight well-trained guards to obtain it;, you can just have it at no risk to your own lives. Just free gold, with no more hassle. Alaira, give me what you have so I may count it." Ssarak said. He had a few ideas in mind for his counteroffer. For one, it offered something of a sense of justice, as it punished specifically the one who harmed them. For some, seeing somone who had hurt them suffer could make up for a lesser monetary reward. As well, it was an offer that took advantage of some of their fears. Even just by appearances alone, most of the caravan guard looked to be in better shape than the bridge's guards. Fighting the caravan guard would be a significant risk to their lives, and what Ssarak was offering allowed them to recieve extra payment with none of that danger. Ssarak made sure to look across each of the guards as he made his offer so that they knew he was talking to them all, as even if his words did not convince every single one of them, he could possibly divide their opinions.

**_Alaira Taenn_** Alaira could not hear, or really even perceive Ssarak, everything was a foggy haze of screaming pain as her mind ore itself apart. And it only got worse as it continued. She did even see Lyn as she approached, just distorted silhouettes of everyone. She had to make this stop, at any cost... Shaky, she rose to her feet, shoving the larger shadow aside... those other shadows on the other side, they were causing this... She rushed one of the diseased guards, howling in fury and pain, tackling him to the ground as she clamped her hand over the sides of his head. Her arms crackled with energy as enormous amounts of power crackled through, no doubt cooking his mind...

Darius raised an eyebrow when Alaira dropped to the ground grabbing at her head. Something happened to her, but nothing happened to anyone else. Maybe the Psychomancer that Ssarak mentioned had done something to cause the half-elf pain. Either way, it stopped the situation from getting worse. The man in the robe began negotiating a fee for attacking the guardsmen. Darius didn't care what they were talking about. He was watching the guardsmen just in case one of them decided to attack. However yet again it was Alaira that attacked first. She ran at one of the guardsmen and tackled him to the ground. Her arms started crackling with energy. If it was anything like last time, the man was either dead or going to be very soon. With sigh, Darius ran over to Alaira, and after taking a few deep breaths, he pulled her off of the man with enough force to send her sliding back a few feet. He then looked at the guardsmen and put his hand on the hilt of his sword. "I do not believe that negotiations are an option anymore. Am I correct? And I will not allow you to take anything from the caravan. It is our job to ensure it arrives at Hysteria intact." Darius was ready. The prospect of a fight after having gone so long without one was an exciting one.

**Cynn Ellime** Pitch's question caught Cynn off-guard, making her reel back in her chair. Her hand had started to go up to cover the scar on her neck when she heard a deep, Orcish voice. She turned to see Tyrael, who was asking Pitch and herself to help him with something. Well, "asking" wasn't the right term for it; it was more of a polite command. "Oh! H-hi, Mister T-Tyrael," she stammered out in her usual quiet voice. "I can help, I th-think... But...I mean, it...might be sort of...slow, I guess? I'm still r-recovering from my...uh...my coma..." That word didn't come out easily, but she couldn't just hint at it. She doubted such an important College official really knew much about her former condition.

At this point Meirin knew things could only get worse. When Lyn got out the first thing Meirin did was make sure Lyn didn't go too far. But during that moment Meirin was distracted and wasn't able to stop Alaira. Meirin didn't know what was happening to her and frankly she was a bit glad that Alaira had been temporarily stopped, but that didn't even last long before she tried to kill someone again. At this point Meirin was considering knocking out Alaira for the rest of the trip, but now Meirin would like as much help as she can get. "Lyn stay with Alaira, please. She needs you right now." Lyn's eyes widened when Alaira moved, the half Elf's fast and rapid reactions caused the child to pause in mid step. Lyn's hand considered seeking out her dagger as the scene filled with tension. Instead it just tightly clutched at her tunic front while she stood in place. She was scared, new to such atmosphere while she watched the adults talk in less then comfortable voices. Most of it she understood far too well. A fact she wished was otherwise but now, nothing could change it. Her head jerked to Mei, seeing the woman who made sure she didn't wander off, and seemed to plead for help. However, no words came into the air, not from Lyn's mouth or mind. Just a pure, terrified expression filled her face. It was only softened by the woman's next small gesture. Meirin gave Lyn, who nodded her understanding, a reassuring smile before standing up to face the guards. Her face looked much more serious. She flourished with her weapon as she stood next to Darius. She looked at the guardsmen in the eyes before raising her weapon at them. "If any of you have ears and a least bit of wit, than you have heard about this weapon. The Monk's Spade. With it I will make your grave and fill with your corpse. Your lives aren't worth throwing away like this." This wasn't a threat or even a suggestion. As much as Meirin didn't want it to come to this, she was mentally and physically prepared to kill these men and put them into a shallow grave. Her eyes held a gaze as steely as the metal her Monk's Spade was made of. As she spoke to the guardsmen she gave Ssarak a somber mental message. _"I'm sorry Ssarak, but I don't think we can avoid this fight anymore."_ As Meirin moved into a fighting stance she also held another thought. _"And to that Psychomancer listening to this, you know who I am. You know what I'm capable of. And you know that your magic means nothing to me."_ Although her back was turned from the robed man Meirin knew where he was at, and it was as though she was glaring at him with her very mind.

Even with the pain Alaira was in, Ssarak could not help but to feel anger towards her. This entire situation was her doing, and now the unnecessary fight was unavoidable. Even so, Ssarak needed to keep a calm head, as rash action could only lead to more harm. It was almost assured that they were _going_ to fight, so now, he needed to focus on pushing the odds as far in their favor as possible. Currently, he, Meirin, and Darius formed a barrier between the guards and the cart, Lyn, and a crippled Alaira. Meirin had shifted to intimidation tactics, something with which Ssarak believed he could help. "Enough!" Ssarak shouted, stomping one foot onto the stone road and clutching his weapon tightly. He took on a much more aggressive stance, and as well, created a subtle illusion to make himself seem even more imposing than he already was. The robed man would have to be a fool to not recognize that he was harming Alaira, so there was no point in trying to keep it secret. He was trying to harm Alaira, and with the outrageous demands he had given, Ssarak suspected that it was wealth on his mind. "Get out of her mind! Her first attack was unprovoked, but you have pushed this too far. That attack was _your_ doing." Ssarak said, looking specifically at the psychomancer. "You are trying to force your men into a fight which will be their end, all for your own gain." Ssarak hoped that, if there was any pre-existing ill-will between any of the guards, he might be able to play off of it to shake their resolve, but just to be safe, he decided to drive in one more point. "I do not want to fight, but do not think for a second that I cannot. I have spent my life as a soldier. I have faced armies of men, Esyire, and demons alike. I was raised on the battlefield. Do not think for a second that a small group of under-equipped, malnourished guardsmen are beyond my capabilities. You have your toll, now let us pass, or make the last mistake of your lives." Ssarak growled, his outward anger masking his inward composure. As well, he started to put pressure on the psychomancer's wards in the hopes of distracting him from Alaira.

**Baulder** - *CQBEXPT, Rtron, Fallen* Baulder darted up from the bed into a sitting position from where he was just sleeping. He took a moment to make himself the blackness he had just escaped. The light was always welcome, lest the black swallow him whole. He scratched his arm extremely hard trying to relieve an itch that wasn’t there. His eyes rolled back into his head a little bit as his barely exposed claws almost drew blood from his arm. He closed his eyes and swayed back and forth for a moment. His eyes slowly opened and he exhaled slowly. He was alive, yesterday was up for debate for him however. He twisted his double jointed legs off the bed and flexed his “toes” on the floor. He leveraged himself off the bed not needing to apply much of his weight forward seeing as he legs were rather good at pulling weight at this angle. It took Baulder a moment a moment to realize he was not wearing pants, which he then promptly pulled on the pants that had carried him all the way to this place. He looked over to the window which was displaying a light akin to dusk. Baulder quickly punched the wall next to the window rather hard. As the pain shot up his arm he let out a primal grunt from his throat of pleasure. He was alive yet, perhaps. No no he thought to himself, he was definitely alive. Otherwise that wouldn’t have felt so good. He then felt his face around his jaw and felt that it was rough. Perhaps grooming was in order yes Baulder? Yes sir it was Baulder. He let out a slight chuckle as he extended the claws on his right hand and began removing excess hair from his face. Though he left some near the back of his jaw, mainly because he felt like it was a good decision. He then walked over to the basin that had yet to be removed from the stand next to his bed and put as much of his face in it as he could. He began letting the burning sensation build in his lungs while he deprived himself of air. The burning was nice addition to the pain in his hand. He took his face out of the water and wiped his face off on the shirt the old man had given and that he was wearing. Uicle slithered into the room, quite enjoying his new body. As long as he avoided open flames, a nice little tip Zaad gave him while they were walking, there was essentially nothing Aarem could do to him! It was almost like having Lyn around. Only without the annoying voices in his head. _You know,_ Uicle mused to anyone who might be listening, _I might just keep this body. It's nice and reconstructable, and really hard for Aarem to damage! In fact, the more I think about it, the more I actually like this idea._ _Just try it buddy and I'll be sure you take a trip with me to the Inferno. In cement shoes..._ _Tsk, Tsk Zaad. Don't you realize that even if we both go to the Inferno, it'd only make things more hellish for you? After all, Aarem would have so much more tools to torture my, your, body with. I'm used to it by now. You, however, would not like the added attention._ Zaad was quiet... for a moment. Then without warning or a hint, his face turned to eye the nearest flame then slammed his face into it willingly. It was painful as hell, the sand crystalized and hardened for the few seconds he had managed to gain control, taking the damage but enjoying the fact Uicle would've felt the unique...hurt. Namely of having his flesh burned until it meld, hardened then cooled rapidly when Uicle took control. _My pain isn't quite like humans...Uicle, something you've now learned._ At first Uicle gave a, mental of course, shout. Not of pain, but of surprise. When he finally regained control, he laughed. _Hahaha...Zaad, that was cute! I'll admit it was unique, and that I've never experienced anything like it. But I've been tortured by the God of Evil, my crystal faced friend. Pain and I know each other as intimately as lovers. Still, I hope you enjoyed that moment of freedom. It won't happen again._ He turned their face too the new student. "Why hello there. My name is Uicle. Care to explain who you are and what happened to you? It's not to often we get someone horribly injured at our gates, unannounced and unexpected." He smiled, crystal features cracking audibly as he did so. "Though I admit, it's happening more often." Baulder breathed in deeply with his eyes closed for a few moments. He did this as he cracked his neck side to side. But once he heard a deep voice say hello his eyes darted open. His pupils dialated fully and he let out a angered "Fuck!" as he swatted a lit candle that was at the end of the bed at the large black creature. Uicle raised an eyebrow, cracking crystal again, before giving the candle life and having it float back into place. "Thanks for the offer, but I haven't been interested in that for a few centuries now. Lets try again. Who are you? What happened?" His eyes rapidly went back to normal as he gave went from fear to a stone face in a mere moment. He ran his hands through his hair towards his back and began breathing normally again. "I'am Baulder. I've been coming here for awhile? Yes, I have been travelling here for sometime. A village north if I remember, I was told to come here by a psychomancer there. Something to do with demons if I recall. Well yes demons was what she said. Either way I'm here now and would like to be a part of this." Baulder said motioning around the room as if it meant something. Uicle returned the spirit in the candle to the Pit, before responding to Baulder. "Welcome Baulder, I'm assuming you want to learn how to control the demons of the Inferno. We're making progess, far more than I thought we would, but you still haven't explained what happened. Why were you in the medical ward? And why are you so far from your island?" _Khan, do we have to take him? He's all kinds of crazy. He makes Tyrael look sane._ _Uicle... I think you're exaggerating. Besides, sending him away will only encourage him to seek aid elsewhere and likely bound to Djarkel or Earnia's wars. The college is open to all as well as will offer santucary to all those who request it. Are you going to be the one to tell Ovak you chose to ignore his rules?_ Khan said, his tone calm and firm in reminding Uicle that Ovak was impossible to argue with. _I agrued with Aarem and won, didn't I? But fine. We'll add another level of crazy to the College. This can't go wrong at all!_ _It will be fine and if I remember right, you did attempt to argue with Ovak once. I don't think you won that so unless you have better tactics this time, I suggest just telling the other teachers and sticking a Golem on him. Namely a wind one. I'll also have Tyrael and Lucilia help. No more arguing._ Baulder paused for a moment. "I....I don't know, I'm here that's all I can......." He thought for another moment. It was like hitting a brick wall with his foot. There was nothing there and nothing to touch. There was nothing in any direction he reached through his head. Just the village was there everything else was blank. "I don't know si the truth.......just nothing. It dosen't matter though. Does it? I've come from quite far. I believe controlling the demons is what I've seeked. I assume I have not been led astray then yes?" Baulder kept reaching out in the blackness for nothing. He never really thought about it before. He didn't want to think about it. Uicle chose not to mention the memory lapse, though stored it away for something to mention to Satori, should he ever have the chance. "You've come to the right place. You're not astray. We'll make sure you don't end up losing control of your powers. And, you know, not get yourself horribly killed doing that. You still haven't answered my question. You were found bloody, ripped clothes, the works. What happened to you?" _I let him win that arguement. It is...unseemly to beat a man crippled in bed._ _I would find it hard to stomach as well. Then again, I wasn't the one that had Ovak smiling and standing toe to toe with me in the arguement...was I, Uicle?_ His tone seemed slightly playful at the memory and the fact Ovak was perfectly healthy at the time of the conversation. Uicle muttered, mentally, something in ancient Yarosmerian(his native language centuries ago). Undoubtedly it was unflattering to Khan, but the Esyire would never know that. _I swear, the bastard loves to argue and be contrary more than I do!_ _Ovak's good at that. Though he's also good with languages. Namely Ancient Yarsomerian, which I'll have to ask him what you just said means the next time I visit him._ He thought about the question for a second. He didn't think that he had actually gone to the inferno. No no it would be best if he just the beast what he usually told people. It was always easier that way. "As I've said I have been travelling for awhile. I think it was a year ago I left ,I walk too much sometimes. I'm told we do that sometimes, Revenites? I think that's what I'm called. I would really just like to get papers signed and get to the whole demon thing." Internally Baulder was becomming increasingly annoyed with this question. He couldn't answer the question and he hoped this creature would get that. He geniunley didn't know, not that he wanted to anyways. He wanted to be here now not anywhere else. There was nothing else for him even if there was he didn't want it. However outwardly he was keeping an intense neutral tone and body movement. _I never should have corrected his awful skills at it in the first place._ Uicle grumbled before continuing. _I think you can imagine what I just said Khan. You don't need a translator._ He sighed at Baulder's, what he percieved as, evasion of the question. He let it drop however, and shrugged his shoulders. "Very well, we'll 'get to the whole demon thing.'" A golem walked in at that point. One used to guide the students around, and as such was much smaller and less threatening looking. "Perfect timing!" Uicle said, having the golem stick it's hand out, palm up. Uicle held his staff directly above the opened hand. "If I suddenly disappear, do not panic. All will be explained soon after that." What happened next was a bit...complex. A medical attendant was walking by with a bowl of some sort of chemical, near a torch. He slipped on some of Uicle/ Zaad's sand, causing the bowl and liquid to go flying in the air. A gust of wind blew the torch flames into the liquid, and the liquid onto Uicle/Zaad. The chemical ignited, which put fire on Zaad/Uicle, which crystalized most of their body. It was...a unique agony. Uicle ignored it, however, diving into Zaad's memories. _Where is it, where is it..._ Baulder was immensley confused by what he had just seen. The black sand creature turned into a hard substance in a bright flash of light just by dropping it's staff. He watched as then the creature became pure solid while the golem grabbed the staff from the air. Baulder started laughing at the absolute madness and improbability of what just occured. He grabbed his stomach laughing so hard. Tears even began flowing from his eyes. Yes, today was off to a good start so far. Assuming that just happened anyways. Managing to choke out between the near cakcling of his laugh he said. "Well, I assume that was supposed to happen." Uicle didn't respond immediately, as Khan noticed almost immediately what he was doing. Without warning, Zaad was banished back to the Inferno. Uicle's staff, however, was dropped into the waiting golem's hand. He turned to face Baulder. "That was expected, yes, but not supposed to happen, no. _This_ was supposed to happen. But we'll get into this little detail later. By which I mean never. All you need to know is that I have _extremely_ bad luck. Now come on. We have to go get you signed up." He ignored Baulder's amusement, chalking it up to madness once more. _Why do we always attract the crazy ones..._ The large golem lead Baulder through the halls of the college towards what he could only assume was his office. He was fascinated with all that around him. Well what wasn't behind a closed door anyways. Though the college had some nice destrucable looking arches.....which Baulder made note of. Once they finally reached a door that the golem bothered to open and went to fetch the documents he would need to sign. It only took a moment however as he assumed this was not an unusual thing to happen. Once given the papers given the papers Baulder read the first word on every page and then signed it. It took him a moment however to decide how he would write his name. He knew people did whatever they felt like for signatures. Though that was true with most things, a thing he learned when he was at the village still. He acted rather annoyed through the whole ordeal of signing the papers. However once he got to the last paper his eye twitched slightly. He quickly handed the papers back to the golem wielding a staff. "Alright alright, when do I start? Yes that sounds right." Baulder said with a bit of aprehension and excitement, whilst itching a deep itch on his scalp. Uicle had bigger things on his mind then the madness of the College's newest student. Like the fact that Khan was doing everything in his power to hide Kudd's artifact from him. So rather than give a sarcastic comment in response to Bauldur's previous annoyance and obvious excitement, he moved to get the student out of his figurative hair as fast as possible. A gargoyle suddenly stood attention as Uicle looked at it. "Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.......s-...staff person?" Baulder said curiously. He then followed the creature through the once again great hallways. He continued to stare at things much longer than any sane person probably would. In particulaur a few people gave him weird looks as he stared at them while walking by. He just found everything so....interesting. Once they came up to the room the beast opened the door and pointed him towards his side of the room. He walked over to the bed and set down his burlap sack and then slid it under the bed. He then layed down on the bed on top of the sheets and looked at the ceiling for a moment. He then got back up and asked the gaurgoyle to take him to the "Ty-real" guy. He had a feeling he was going to have an aweful time here. This made Baulder laugh.

### Caravan Escort The guards were scared. They had a duty to uphold, but this was just crazy even for them. "Fuck this shit!" The guard who had nearly been killed by Alaira screamed out and ran for it. Another one jumped into the river and showed his swimming ability by disappearing before the first one even got more than fifty feet. The other guards didn't seem to budge, while the captain just looked even angrier, if such a thing was possible. He stepped forward and held his sword "I will not stand for this injustice! I will not allow you or your companions to leave here alive. Pray to your gods, villain, you'll be meeting them soon!" The robed man merely chuckled at Ssarak and his attempt to break his wards. While the Psychomancer did have to put up a defense against Ssarak's attacks, he also knew that Alaira was likely the biggest threat to his guardsmen, but in this state she'd also be a liability to the group. He knew that, and it was likely that Ssarak knew this as well. The robed man held his staff defensively as he prepared himself for battle. "I have no idea what you mean, good sir... I'm no Psychomancer. I am a Demonomancer!" And with that the battle was on. Somehow, the guardsmen who were previously nervous looked much more furious. The pale one screeched out as his mouth revealed rows of jagged teeth. He and the other guard attacked Meirin and Darius, the ghoul lunging low towards Meirin's legs while the guardsman hurled a dagger at Darius's gut to get him to try to dodge or block the blow. The guard captain moved in on Ssarak with a burst of speed, his shield up to defend himself but also lunged with his blade aiming towards Ssarak's hand to cut his fingers off. The robed man made a quick florish, and suddenly flanking Meirin and Darius were two [demons](http://i.imgur.com/18H9qKQ.jpg). However they were not real, but illusions. They roared to make themselves known and would menace the two while somehow always dodging their attacks. They'd occasionally make an attack, but it would be telegraphed enough that the two could dodge them, but they'd also have to do that while fighting against the guardsmen, who where very much _not_ illusions. Lyn and Alaira would also be "attacked" by separate demons, though their purpose was mostly to keep them from interfering by snapping at them. Like the ones fighting Meirin and Darius, they would effortlessly dodge any attempt to harm the, but be unable to do not damage to Alaira or Lyn due to merely being illusions. The caravan master tried to escape with the wagon, but he too was menaced by a demon and held hostage. Only Ssarak saw no demons thanks to his wards, but he also wouldn't know that the robed man was creating illusions on everyone else since the robed man purposely chose not to have him affected by the spell. ### Tyrael Marchrosias Tyrael looked at Cynn thoroughly before opening the door out of the mess hall. He only knew her due to her long stint in the infirmary and thought that Sam was doing an study on her corpse. Turned out she wasn't dead, which was a shame since he could use more flesh for his crafts. Seeing that she was alive however he figured that he might as well get some good use out of her, recovering or not. It's not like the mission he had in mind for them was dangerous. Well, too dangerous anyways. **"If you think you are capable of helping, than come. If you are not, than stay."** Tyrael said simply as he opened the door and began to head out. **"If you believe you are ready, come to my office. If you can find others, have them join you there. I will explain what you will be doing once we have a sufficiently large enough group."**

### Korgal and Khan Korgal studied the man-beast that stood in front of him, tall with wings and the appearance of the dragons that the young orc had only heard about in stories, upon this thought flickering through the orcs mind his eyes lit up and he stood to his full height and offered his hand so the man-beast could shake it *”This is what humans do right?”* He thought, perhaps he was wrong so he went for the universal symbol of hello and hugged him perhaps a bit too hard forgetting the fact that he was an orc, when the young orc released the man-beast, he spoke his voice firm “I am Korgal Vorinclex of Tribe Frostfall, i have come to join here and learn about my-” The orc stood there and pondered for a bit looking for the right word, and it came to him only seconds later. “Abilities…” When the conversation between Khan and Uicle ended, the Eysire felt a weight released off his heart. In more ways than one, he realised he was slightly relieved, a bit, when he and Uicle parted ways. Strictly the reason being that he no longer had to deal with the odd man digging for more details then the Headmaster could managed to keep hidden. In the back of his mind he was certain the teacher’s desire to further uncover his experience with Kudd wouldn’t stop there. Khan sighed when he realized, slightly miffed at his situation, that his budding headache was just beginning. His muzzle let out a heavy, suppressed sigh when he thought about it. In the background, he let his cane’s familiar taps follow in rhythm with his limp and each time, it had ease more weight off his stiff leg during his way to the empty office. Over time, the pain in it seemed to have dulled ever so bit. After rounding a second corner and keeping a brisk pace, his mind had started to wonder to what motives the Orc had to come to the College. He doubted it was to become a student truthfully. Mainly because he knew the Orc race held the smallest blood percent, unlike his own whom almost every single member could be a mage, among the many races of Tiien. This individual would’ve been a rare happening in any of the diverse tribes. Khan inwardly finched when his thoughts crossed over the little facts about his race. The fleeting moment had scrapped on to the subject of his brother Riddic, more accurately the fact his twin’s magic faded thanks to a disease, and immediately regretted it. Even if Riddice couldn’t be helped in the end, his mind thought ill of his carelessness then. Ignoring the painful memories, Khan’s odd colored eyes looked up to see he had arrived far sooner than he had expected. Now, instead of empty hallways and idling student, the office door stood before him. His shoulders slacked in admitting that he couldn’t keep the new arrival waiting for much longer. That in mind, he pushed the door open. He found the Orc sitting on the chair provided. The sounds of him entering caused the younger orc’s eyes to raise and seem to brighten on sight. Slowly the ‘would-be-student’ stood upright and began to cut the distance between them, his hand held out in greeting. Before Khan could reach for it, the Orc’s massive arms opened wide. Unable to discourage or escape, he felt his body suddenly wrapped in the Orc’s strong arms. He felt fear when the constriction begin, his body softly crackled at the pressure applied. Khan’s cane dropped from his grasp while his wings felt the squeeze pushing his thin bones harder against his back. Jawline tightened and air forced from his lungs, the headmaster could only let out a soft, “Oomph..” during the introduction. It was clear the Orc had been somewhat excited due to the strength within his unusual greeting. When Khan felt himself released, his legs wobbled and off balance without his cane, his lungs filled with new air again. His original fear was replaced by surprise and confusion when the Orc gave him enough personal space to speak. It wasn’t hard to note the hesitation while the newcomer sought for the appropriate word, seeming to have the same education as a few of the other students, before he came up with the correct phrase that Khan agreed on, the Eysire nodding. He, in the small corner of his head, now believed Uicle had gotten the easier ordeal perhaps. Straining downward to return his cane to his hand, Khan found his voice finally. Ignoring the nagging familiarity at the Orc’s name he turned back to address Korgal in his calmest and steadiest tone. “Welcome to Twilight College. I’m currently the Headmaster, Khan Jervarath. There are at least six main blood schools, each with two classes, and making a total of twelve bloods which each have their own unique qualities that we teach here. However there is a class called ancients which include weaving, chantment, and runes. Before we begin, however, I must ask one important question: Do you have an idea of what your abilities are? Can you manipulate an element, like fire or another like it, or maybe brought an object to life? It would help greatly in determining who shall be your teacher at least before we register you.” Khan figured he might as well try to ease Lucilia’s burden a bit and discover the Orc’s mageblood. At least if he had one. Even he had to admit it was rather difficult to believe an Orc had mage blood due to the rarity, thinking maybe the younger creature might’ve been mistaken in his own mind. A trick played by others of his own kin or worse, yet he didn’t say it outloud out of respect. Korgal let Khan go the man-beast was frail but something about him seemed to exude danger that this man-beast wasn’t as frail as he seemed that he could very easily kill Korgal with a wave of his hand. As he explained the six different kinds of blood and the classes Korgal briefly looked confused, as Khan asked about his abilities Korgal explained. “I can freeze things.” He said but he continued to explain. “When angered it’s more noticeable I think i could show you.” He focused hard on making something happen something big like he’s done before but instead he managed to only cover the palm of his hand in a small coat of frost, looking frowning at his hand Korgal spoke. “Generally it isn’t like that, but i guess it proves my point.” Korgal said grabbing a small satchel and throwing it over his shoulder. “Indeed, you’re a cyromancer.” Khan said gently as he watched the orc’s palm ice over. He had had his doubts but not they were gone, forgotten and pushed aside when the orc proved his story true. From Krogal’s frown it seemed the orc had been expecting more only to be disappointed to see much less, his disappointment casted away when he snatched up his meager belongings and tossed it over his shoulder. Khan stood there watching him for a moment then turned on his heel, his cane came out to maintain his balance, and open the door leading the new student out. He knew where he had to head. His cracking pace echoed through the hallway as he lead the orc to Lucilia’s office, his pace steady until he stopped short. His hand came and ratted on the wooden door that separated the hallway and her work space, politely standing outside until he was bid in. He secretly hoping Lucilia hadn’t been entertaining Uicle before his drop by or else this encounter would get rather unpleasant rather quickly. Gingerly he began to enter then peered around, nervously, and finally walked fully inside with the student in toll.

Ssarak Dyreackthanose --- As Ssarak feared, the situation did deteriorate quickly. Fortunately, their intimidation did at least bear some fruit, as two of the guards fled before the fighting could begin. This left their numbers evenly matched, but a fight was now certain. As Ssarak already had his weapon drawn he was ready to react immediately, even if he would rather not fight at all. The robed man tried to claim that he was actually a demonomancer, but there was no way he could convince Ssarak of that. He had felt the pressure against his ward, not to mention how he was influencing Alaira. It was the same kind of misdirection Ssarak might attempt himself, even if it was less subtle and, to Ssarak, less convincing. _"Do not believe him; he is a psychomancer."_ Ssarak warned telepathically to the others just as the guard captain began to rush him. However, he did not know about the illusory demons, so if any of his allies did not trust his word completely, he would not know to convince them that they were not real. Still, given how he was harming Alaira, Ssarak knew that it would be best to attempt to deal with him sooner rather than later. The guard captain's swift charge gave Ssarak little opportunity to deliver a blow himself, as his maul required more time to deliver a full swing than a sword. Despite his rage, the captain at least seemed to be fighting intelligently by closing the gap and preventing Ssarak from using the advantage of reach. Even so, Ssarak was undeterred, as fighting in extreme close quarters was not something he was unfamiliar with. The head of his maul required force to move around its greater mass, but the haft of the weapon could be manipulated fairly quickly, especially while pivoting about its point of balance in the head. Holding his weapon horizontally in front of him, Ssarak quickly moved it down once he saw that the captain was thrusting towards his hand, then snapped it up to clash against the blade with the haft of his weapon, which absorbed the majority of the force from the attack. With his gauntlets protecting his hands, Ssarak was comfortable moving into a counter. Continuing the motion of his initial block, he pushed the haft of the weapon up and to the right, with the head remaining relatively stationary. This pushed the captain's sword out of the way for a moment, giving Ssarak a chance to retaliate. Using the momentum he already had, Ssarak turned his upper body and charged forward, leading with his left shoulder. This meant that most of his body was at an angle to the captain, so his attacks were more likely to deflect off of his armor, rather than imparting the force head-on. He hoped to use his superior strength and sheer body mass to knock the captain over, and give him the advantage.

Alaira Taenn Seconds before Alaira managed to fry the poor fool's brain, she was thrown off of him, into the cart. With a loud thud she slammed into the cart. The shadows flickered, moving this way and that... fighting, maybe? She couldn't focus, the searing pain in both her mind and her back prevented any sort of action on her part. She whimpered, clutching her head in agony as the fight erupted around her. She didn't notice the phantasmal demons, as illusions didn't really work on her. All psychomantic interference on her mind was just white noise, an infernal searing pain throughout her brain. While it was impossible for a psychomancer to have the desired effect on her, it was rather easy to render her a non-issue...

Baulder Baulder was lead out of the ornate dorms through stairs and past a mixture of races and out to a courtyard. He was absolutely interested to the point of anger that he didn't know about all these other races. He had only met humans and an elf back at the village. He had no idea that there were so many different types of beings. However whenever he started to stop to stare at any given person or object the gargoyle pushed him along. He had the scariest thought for a moment that he would never have time to learn everything here. Time, he would need more of it. How much more would he need though is what he wondered for a moment before the gargoyle pushed him along again. They passed by a cluster of large open spaces where people were casting fire from their hands at various objects and frost from their feet. He was rather curious as one of the people with ice protruding from their feet began skating around the small courtyard. He was rather entertained by this for a moment as he then saw the demon. The large gray creature that had taken him into the inferno, well atleast he thought so anyways. Either way he had seen the demon before. The gargoyle pushed him in the direction of his "master" and then walked off away to the corner of the room incase he needed it further. Baulder felt his eyes widen and his nostrils flair as his combined senses remembered the imp and the taste. He salivated as he remembered the taste of the imp, although it was quite gamey it was much less fatty than the deer he had been eating up until that point. His mind quickly wandered back to being knocked out again. Baulder began seething with rage and made a quick pace over to the large creature and once near his face dropped into a completely calm and neutral one again. His pupils dilated and then returned to normal as he said "Master....." Immediately he clenched his jaw tight.

Darius looked at the robed man as he denied being a Psychomancer and insisted that he was a Demonmancer. Whatever kind of magic the man had, he was a mage, and made him a priority target. Ssarak seemed certain that the man was a Psychomancer, and the dragon man had no reason to lie, so Darius believed him. The remaining guardsmen attacked as soon as the mage stopped speaking. Darius was ready. As soon as he saw movement from the guards he started running for the robed man. As he dodged the knife that was thrown at him, he heard something screech from his right side. He chanced a look and saw that a demon had appeared from out of nowhere and it was heading for him. He stopped his charge and rolled out of the way of the creature's attack. He gritted his teeth in anger as he watched the demon and the guardsman. These two were preventing him from getting to the mage. Focusing his anger, he created a ball of air in his hand. He waited for the demon to attack before he threw the condensed ball of air into the ground in front of the guard. The ball of air blew up and sent dirt and debris into the air. The moment the ball detonated, Darius dodged the demon's attack and ran at the guard he potentially temporarily blinded and thew a vicious punch at the man.

Gritting her teeth Meirin took a defensive stance once the battle went under way. She was not fooled by the robed man's lies when he said he was a Demonomancer, as Ssarak told her the truth before hand. She focused on the guardsmen near her and Darius. Luckily two fled before the fight evening out the numbers. The pale guard screamed at them, but Meirin wasn't going to just stand there and take it. Just as he attacked Meirin moved forward and dodged him. As he lunged to where she once stood Meirin raised her monk's spade to chop him in the back of the head. That's when she saw the demon. She hesitated just long enough that after she swung her weapon, she only managed to leave a graze in the pale guard's back. Meirin resumed her defensive stance but glared at the demon before her eyes. Ssarak had told her that the robed man was a Psychomancer, and it wasn't as though she didn't believe him. But this demon... Meirin did not want to expose herself to this monster. This is what they came for, wasn't it? To find out where these demons were coming from? Meirin's mind raced before realizing that she was in a bad position. Two against one wasn't good even if one of her opponents was a scruffy guardsmen. It was obvious to her that this pale guard was not normal if his teeth and demeanor was anything to go by. "Focus Meirin! Take them out one at a time!" The demon made a sweeping attack at Meirin which she dodged easily. She used the momentum to preform a weaving technique while she was in the air. It was a wind one which she can use to propel her in any direction once she finished the movements, and she decided to jump over the pale guard and towards Ssarak's opponent, the much more skilled and better armed guard captain. She also used her wind weaving technique to push the pale guard down, which should give her some time to help Ssarak. Once she landed Meirin flanked her new opponent with Ssarak, who had just attempted to tackle the guard captain. Taking just a moment to analyze the situation Meirin swept at the captain's legs. She would help Ssarak knock the captain down and finish him off taking out one of the bigger threats in this fight.

Lyn Lyn felt the fear hold her there. Its grip pinning her there, keeping her from moving while her widen eyes watch when the conflict broke out. The robed man had a scary smile. His thin lips pulled back and eyes narrowed, clearly enjoying the power and weakened position they were in. She hadn’t even realize her hand had slipped under her tunic to pull her own dagger free until she held it in her smaller fingers. Each one wrapped tightly and whitened by the terror pounding adrenaline through her veins causing her struggle over what to do. How to help those she wanted to. The girl had never drawn blood before. In her short life, she had never fully used the blade for its whole intended purpose and that wasn’t something she wanted. It made her middle feel like worms, wriggling and slithering within, as she swallowed the lump nestled in her throat. She whimpered when she spotted the demons. Her Uncle Tyrael’s tales about demons and their horror crept into her mind, poisoning her movements to help. Her bear, on the other hand, wasn’t so easily fazed. The small, vicious little ball of fur and fluff let out a small growl foreign to the stuff animal’s nature at the illusions. Its muzzle curled up to reveal several sets of steel teeth. Each an inch long, sharp and able to sink into tough hide similar to Naga skin if needed. The two paws made a slink sound when its claws ejected to the surface, glistening in the daylight for a moment. This thing wasn’t just any toy. Each time the toy had swiped only to see the demons dart from its grasp, ignoring it to attack Lyn. Each time it caused her to step back to Alaira, failing to bring herself to defend herself, as the bear struggled to defend her. This wasn't working. The bear could see that much and noticed the guards nearby, attacking Ssarak, Mei and Darius. All of them seemed to handle themselves well mixing their magic with their attacks from sneak attacks to improvising tactics, their styles easily shouted their personalities to the bear. When Mei swept a wind air at the guard, possibly knocking him down, the bear lounged. The small size and low attacks were hard to avoid if one didn’t see it coming, giving the stuffed toy some perks to its limited range. Its right paw slashed out at the nearest exposed skin. Likely the throat or leg back, strictly depending if the man was caught in the attack or had dodged and ready to attack Mei’s back. If it struck true, it would hear a scream causing it to grin. Then it would bring its other paw to repeat its earlier score, inflicting more pain.

The first thing that happened was an utterly loud screech of pain. The Pale Guard had largely ignored most of Meirin's attempts at harming him, even the blast that knocked him down didn't do much but cause him to growl. But than out of no where a small furry creature emerged from what may as well have been the pit itself and latched onto the pale guard's face. It's claws sunk deep into his head as he tried to pull, tear, and bash the bear off his face, but the doll was made of sterner stuff than you'd expect from a stuff animal. The pale guard flailed wildly and blindly trying to remove the bear from his face, unwittingly edging closer to Lyn and Alaira in his struggle. The guard fighting Darius had not expected the blast of wind and only managed to raise his arm to protect his eyes. Debris bounced off his arms and by the time the guard looked again he saw a fist flying towards his face. But the guardsman was no weakling and took the punch without so much as a groan. Though now he had a bruise, bloody, and likely broken nose the guard grabbed Darius's hand after it had landed on his face. The guard held Darius's fist onto his own chest, to lock it in place. Than the guard swung his club just right behind Darius's arm, aiming to break his arm. The Psychomancer kept his cool despite how the battle was turning. The pale guard was a lost cause but he took note of the bear attacking him; he would have to keep a careful eye on it. He also took notice that Darius was trying to get to him, and the only thing standing in his way was the lone guard who wasn't looking so good right now. The Psychomancer changed his tactics and instead of having demons attacking Darius, he had made an illusion of the pale man about to attack him from behind. But there was also the guard captain that the Psychomancer had to worry about. He was being attacked by the Ssarak and Meirin, a Esyire Soldier and a Warrior Monk respectively. As skilled as the captain was the odds were not in his favor. So the Psychomancer sent a telepathic message to the captain with what he must do to save himself. When the guard captain's blow was deflected he aimed to take the momentum to move past the Eysire and get behind him. But than the Psychomancer gave him a message warning him of the red-headed warrior behind him and her attack. It was a bad position indeed, but not one that the captain could not escape. What the guard captain did was jump up to avoid the sweep and letting himself get pushed back by the eysire's tackle. The guard captain pushed himself off Ssarak and over Meirin to get behind her. Once he landed on his feet the captain slashed at Meirin from the shoulder down to her hip.
Tyrael Marchosias
Tyrael continued his search to find more bodies for his next mission. Four or five people would be enough, though he supposed that if more arrived he could figure out something for them to do as well. He pondered what else he could have them fetch while they were out when he heard someone call him "Master". Tyrael turned his head to see Baulder, the strange nonhuman he had operated on just a while ago. Tyrael had noted from his clothing and the gargoyle who had escorted him here that Baulder has become an official student. Not that it made much difference to the demon, who still did not trust the newcomer. But he could still use him. "I have a mission for you. Go to my office. There will be others there." Tyrael did not tell him where else to go or led him to his office, and instead went to go find Khan. He needed to know that Tyrael was going to assign some students for a mission. Due process and all that.
Lucilia Riovas
By this time Lucilia was more than ready for the newcomer and Khan. With so many people coming in today she had already brought out stacks of paper work for the new students and prepared a speech. She even changed into a more formal and professional attire consisting of a white embroidered dress tight around her waist that went down to her knees, black tights underneath and leather heeled shoes. She looked a bit uptight, but also dressed in such a way that she not only stood out to other drab colored characters, but seemed oddly imposing. Though your mileage may vary. Once Khan and the new comer entered Lucilia stood up and bowed her head, mainly a formality for Khan. "Greetings Headmaster Khan. Thank you for guiding this student here. Hello! My name is Lucilia Riovas. I am the professor of Herbmancy here at the college, as well as general secretary of college affairs, proprietor of the Scarlet Traveler, and Master of Alchemy. I would like to personally welcome you to the College of Twilight, where we teach anyone who enters our doors how to control and master their magics. Regardless if you are a human, dwarf, elf, or orc, loyal to Eania or Djarkel, we will accept you with open arms. All we ask is that you remain lawful within out walls and do nothing to purposely endanger yourself or your fellow students. There is some work that I would like for you to fill out, but before we get to that may I know your name? Lucilia put on her polite, professional smile. She didn't exactly think kindly of the orc in her room (She generally doesn't think kindly of orcs in general) but this was not the time to allow her prejudice to show. More so since Khan was here. Still, her eyes held an icy gaze that would make Krogal's magic look like frost. There was something about the way she looked at him that nearly screamed "I will exploit you".

Alaira Taenn Alaira couldn't really contribute, it was just too much pain for her to bear and it was all she could do to just curl up and whimper on the ground... It was then she felt something bump into her side, and she lashed out. Her gauntlet was primarily leather, but it was reinforced with light steel plates, this punch would hurt. Through the haze of pain, it was nearly impossible to tell anything apart. This time, she was close enough and mid swing realized in horror just who her target was; Lyn. She managed to divert her blow, slamming her fist into the cart instead. Her face fully betrayed her shock and horror as she backed away, clutching her head once more. Her mind screamed at itself, burning and tearing, but she managed to suppress it enough to realize what she had nearly done. She screamed her eyes tearing up as she told Lyn; "S-stay back! K-keep away from me!" she cried, groaning and slamming her fist into the ground as a particularly horrible spike of pain burrowed into her skull. I almost killed her... I almost killed her... I almost killed her... I almost killed her... Endlessly repeating in her mind, adding to her agony. I... No... She thought... No more!... I'll end this! words came screaming through her shredded mind, louder than the others. Simple, singular purpose filling her. It hurt, it hurt so much, b-but it was just another wound... just another wound... She'd fought through worse. She stood up, shaking as she turned towards the source of her pain... The largest shadow. It hurt just to look at it, and she took a step closer to the Psychomancer, her pain intensifying just a bit. Follow the pain... kill the real foe... Before he takes your mind. She unhooked her mace from her belt loop as she slowly built up to a run, clutching her head with her other hand, searing, blinding hate in her expression as she charged her foe. The coward was a psychomancer, and a pretty good one it seemed, relatively speaking. He relied on his magic to do all his work for him, manipulating others, letting brutes do his work while he watched. She was a warrior, and while she wasn't quite as skilled as she usually was, she was a mutant, more or less. An aberration. Extremely strong, extremely fast, and extremely angry. She had built into a full sprint, screaming as she prepared to make us of every ounce of her abilities to slam her mace through his skull. Dust and other filth on the bridge was blown aside in her wake, her aeromancy enhancing her already impressive stried as she rocketed toward the foe she had marked for death.

Soft footsteps echoed off the walls of the college. Myrn had been at the college since yesterday, following the trail of her savior. So far her leads have told her that her savior was heading to the college, so she guessed that he must have been a mage of some sort. But than again, she also knew that her savior was an orc, and she has never heard of orc mages. Than again most orcs aren't known to save the lives of elves either. Whoever he was, he was definitely an exception from the norm. But despite that, Myrn has had no luck of finding him so far. Even when she asked around yesterday no one has seen an orc by her description. So today, after gathering the rest of her supplies from the college, she was going to find the headmaster himself and ask him about Myrn's savior. From what she managed to figure out herself, the headmaster was an eysire named Khan. She has met a few Eysire in the past, all of them mercenaries. Fearsome with their weapons and their magic. Myrn could understand how one managed to rise to the rank of Headmaster. The fact that he was a demonmancer made her uneasy however. She's never dealt with demons before but if tales about them held any weight, demons were nothing but trouble, and their masters are not much better. At best they were fooled by the demons promises of power or forced to rely on them, but never has a deal with a demon ever ended happily. Myrn hoped that her meeting with Khan would be uneventful. Eventually Myrn was in the teacher's hall. Somewhere here was Khan's office and Myrn should be able to find Khan there. If not him, than perhaps a teacher who knows where he is at or when he'll return. The doors had their own distinctive looks about them but nothing that really tells Myrn which office was Khans. There was no name tags and if she had to guess which one was his door, she would think it was a portal to hell or a gate made from dragon bones. Unbeknownst to her however Myrn was getting closer to Khan's office and the danger within. Just as Myrn passed Khan's door she stumbled. Look down at her feet she noticed an odd vine growing from underneath the door. "What-" Before Myrn could ask her question she was attacked. The several vines wrapped around her leg and pulled her towards the door, smashing her through it. It flung her to the far side of the office where she would have crashed into a cabinet if Myrn hadn't reacted. Even as she flew through the air Myrn readied herself for the impact, landing on her feet. When the vines lashed out at her again they were cut down. "Hmph! You'll have to do better than that." In Myrn's hand was her Dar'Missan; a great elven curved blade. Despite how slender the blade was it could focus the speed and force of each swing onto a narrow point, cutting through even plate armor in the hands of a master. And in Myrn's hands, these vines were nothing. At least that's what she thought before they lashed out at her again. But Myrn didn't falter and fought back. "Kiai! Hiya! TAKE THIS!" Myrn shouted in fury as she danced around the office, cutting off the vines as they tried to get near her. But she was also trying to fight her way towards the exit as the longer she stayed in the office, the more vines that started to attack her. She knew it wouldn't be long before the entire room may as well collapse onto her, so she needed to get out before she gets overwhelmed.

Ssarak Dyreackthanose and Meirin Kurenai --- As Ssarak was charging forward, he noticed Meirin use her magic to spring into position behind the guard captain, but despite the general noise of the fight and the fact that she was out of his line of sight, he reacted immediately, and with surprising agility. Had he not known about he might have assumed that the captain had very acute hearing, but as he sprang away behind Meirin, Ssarak recognized what was going on quickly, as it was a strategy he had used countless times himself. The guard captain had been warned by the psychomancer; something that would make this fight much more difficult. Before he even started to think of a counter, Ssarak rushed to help Meirin, though there was no way he could do anything physically in time. Thanks to his training with Satori, however, his mental reactions were almost as natural to him as any block or parry. To the captain, he gave an illusion, one that was subtle enough not to require a high level of detail. As he was beginning his swing, Ssarak attempted to alter his perception of depth enough to make Meirin seem closer than she actually was. Hopefully, his swing would either miss entirely, or at least not be ideal, and therefore easier to block. Meirin was sure that she would have been tripped the captain. Yet somehow he was able to jump over Meirin. Was this another illusion or did that really happen? She didn't think about it for long; illusion or not she didn't feel her weapon hit anything so she missed, and she couldn't see the captain in front of her so she needed to move. Meirin dodged to the side and felt a tug on her sleeve. When she looked she saw that the captain had just her arm, but just barely. Nothing that would stop Meirin but it was very close. If she had to guess the captain must be getting help from the Psychomancer. There was no way he could have seen Meirin get behind him. She had to be careful too however; that Psychomancer could do the same trick to Meirin, as she could still see the demons trying to attack her. She had to block them out from her sight and try not to flinch everytime a demon took a swing at her. "This is getting annoying Ssarak... I know these demons aren't real but they're getting in the way." The worse things these demons were doing were just blocking her view. She made some weak swings to "knock" them away, but they were presistant. She at least knew were the guard captain was at and made sure that he didn't sneak an attack on her while the demons pestered her. The guard captain noticed something off with his sight. He couldn't tell what, but whatever it was it made him miss the red haired girl. It was two against one now and he knew that both his opponents were very skilled. The red haired girl was one of those warrior monks from the mountain, so he knew she was a fighter. The eysire was obviously a threat. The worse thing that could happen to the captain was if he left himself get flanked again. He had only a few seconds to weigh his options and charged the eysire. While he had no doubts that one solid blow could kill the warrior monk, she was fast, likely faster than he was, and if he tried to focus his attention on her the eysire warrior could land a blow that would kill him. No, the captain would need to make sure to take advantage of his speed against the larger warrior rather than match speed with the warrior monk. Keeping his shield arm between him and the dragon warrior the guard captain juked to the eysire's left. As he did so he also stabbed his sword into the a fold in the eysire's leg armor. He wanted to try to peirce the flesh, but failing that he could at least get his blade lodged in to try to trip up the eysire. Given that Meirin was not armored in the same way as Ssarak, he had expected that the guard captain would go for her, but he was ready for his attack nonetheless. The captain was ill-equipped to deal with an armored opponent. Slashing attacks were all but useless against, plate, which meant the only way he could be effective was with thrusts. Therefore, as soon as he dodged to the side, Ssarak had a reasonable guess as to what kind of attack was coming. As the captain was starting to thrust forward, Ssarak grabbed onto the head of his maul with his left hand and yanked it upwards, acting as a lever to snap the haft down onto the blade, hopefully knocking it to the side. At the same time, he decided to give his own, unique counter. In a more direct application of psychomancy than he had been using, Ssarak concentrated some of his magic into a psychomantic breath attack, which shot out through the small, grid-like holes in the front of his helmet. The collection of generally calming effects it produced could make him rethink his decision to fight, or at the very least, its effects would certainly not be helpful in such a fast-paced fight. The captain had put Ssarak between himself and Meirin, but it would still only be a few seconds before she was on him as well. Either Meirin was scarier than she gave herself credit for or the guard captain was trying something when he attacked Ssarak first. She at least could guess that he was trying not to get stuck between him and Meirin since he tried to put Ssarak between them, but Meirin was fast enough to follow him. Just as Meirin got into position to attack Ssarak countered but not in a way she had ever seen him do before. He breathed some sort of smoke into the captain's face. She knew that Eysire could use breath attacks based on their magic but she had no idea what a Psychomancy breath attack would do. Whatever it was though, it would at least blind the captain. Instead of attacking the captain directly Meirin took this chance to use a weaving movement. She thought back to her lessons Ghell and one technquie that would be most effective here. She needed both hands however so she had to drop her monk's spade and took her stance. First she focused on the captain. Than she held her hands close to her center, like she was holding a ball between had palms. She rotated her hands around the center of her body until a small spinning orb was formed between her hands. Than she launched this ball towards the captain, where it grew as Meirin continued to motions until the captain was surrounded but a sort of wind barrier. Normally this was a technquie used defensively, but Meirin learned how to use it offensively by sucking the breath out of those caught inside of it as well as pushing objects away from the orb. Ssarak would feel the wind pushing against him, but the purpose of this technquie was to make sure the guard breathed in all of Ssarak's breath attack. Meirin continued to maintain the movements until she felt that the captain was no longer a threat, or somehow escaped, whichever came first. The guard captain stepped back from Ssarak when his attack failed. He was about to try to get behind the eysire to attack his wings when he breathed a thick smog in the captain's face. This certainly caught him off guard as he raised his shield to try to block the attack, but still breathed in the smoke. His eyes watered and he began to cough as the effects of the smoke immediately began to try to take hold of his mind. He waved his shield around trying to blow the smoke away but than Meirin's wind vaccum prevented that from working. The gas surrounded him, forced him to breath in Ssarak's breath. The captain's vision became blurred, his mind was starting to go blank. Thoughts and visions flashed before his eyes as he both tried to keep fighting and wanted to do nothing more than drop his weapons. The captain flailed forward in an attempt to break out of the wind tunnel, but after he did he collapsed. He was foaming from the mouth and his eyes were blood shot. His last memory was that of a woman that he knew back at his home. Slowly, he closed his eyes as his faded from consciousness.

Lyn
While her bear went at the man with claws and teeth, shredding the very flesh and spilling blood, she had been taking small steps back the whole time. Bit by bit, her feet came behind causing her suddenly feel a bump. It made Lyn jump with a start and turn her head. Her eyes widen when Alaira’s fist had came flying at her, the fingers curled and balled up, causing her to immediately react. Her body unfrozen after everything’s that happened while she let out a earsplitting scream of fright. Instantly, Lyn crouch down. She rushed her hands on her head top, rushing to protect her face and skull, while her knees bent and tried to avoid Alaira’s aim. Wood made a hollow thunk when it slammed into the cart causing it dent and rattle against the surface, certainly leaving Alaira’s fingers stinging and numb from the force behind it. Lyn curled into a tighter ball with fear digging into her core. It would fill Ssarak’s tabs on Lyn with sudden fear and panic, her mind screaming as loud as her lungs. Her scream small and meek compared to Alaira's next words. "S-stay back! K-keep away from me!" Alaira shouted causing the frighten child to flinch and shiver, her arms still fastened tightly to her head. When Alaira move, she couldn’t help her reaction. Instead of being calm enough to see her Aunt’s direction, the child just wanted to be gone and her feet stirred to do just that. Her bare soles slapped the concrete starting with one step then followed by another, her legs moving the pace faster. In moments, Alaira’s focus distracted and the others fighting for their lives, Lyn shifted around and made a mad dash for the opposite direction. Her hand had enough sense to tighten her grip on the dagger when she moved, ensuring not to lose it. Now she had nothing but the deep need to escape the chaos leading her away. The childish notion that running would be best. If she made it too far from her caretakers, she might very well be lost in the wilds of Djarkel. Or at least lost to those who would protect her. There was a reason few dare to venture within the wilderness without protection, bandits or no, after all.
Khan
Khan stepped in, his eyes drifted and caught Lucilia’s current fashion. In reality he shouldn’t have been surprised. Lucilia usually liked to impress students, putting on a good appearance as representative of the College and giving them some comfort, dressing in interesting formal clothing. Currently she was wearing a white, slender fitting dress with soft decorations and black tights underneath, vanishing into high heel leather boots. He inwardly flinched on seeing them from the corner of his sight. The things seemed like walking death traps, each step rather painful and torture to walk on. However, he suspected some of her concern wasn’t completely genuine. The feeling increased when words poured out of Lucilia’s mouth, sounding like honey tainted with serpent venom. His wings tightened closer to his body and his knuckles stayed fast on his cane, eyes closed when his head returned the formal bow. Her introduction began rather quickly with little time wasted. All the time he remained silent, studying her, as she went on with the normal greeting and ended in a question. “I merely came for a entrance form, Lucilia. I already have his name and mageblood.” Khan interrupted for a moment, his hand reached for the paper stack he knew held the correct forms. Inside he hoped she wouldn’t wonder about why he hadn’t went to his office instead. Namely as he barely touched the fresh stack from yesterday and right this moment, was locked safely in the drawer of his desk. In addition to his worry, he didn’t feel...comfortable about Lucilia’s subtle glare, one he knew well enough thanks to his years in Djarkel. The same she gave each of his demons, including Rathel, and it drew more concern from him. It was one of utter loathing hidden within her eyes. Any farther thoughts were interrupted by Rathel’s warning. Khan… the vines, someone’s in your office! "Shit!" Khan uttered abruptly, partly out loud and under his breath. Without thinking, he instantly rushed toward the exit. His hand came out and slammed Lucilia’s door back open, his pace much more rapid than was healthy for his limp as he moved to his office. His mind frantically driving his body beyond its limits. Rathel’s anger and fear mingled among Khan’s own, feeding it, while he summoned the demon in to his side. He barely notice when his shoulder clipped someone along the way, the sting when his flesh slammed into metal, and continued flying past Uicle. He barely realized his cane had slipped out of his grasp as he drove into the entrance, not even seeing the broken wooden splintered about, and roared. “Rathel!” In a moment, the Rune on Khan’s chest glowed and seared in pain causing Rathel to emerge. The demon erupted from a portal in seconds, landing with a hard click on the stone path, his black eyes looking distinctly cold. His magic reached into the vines and forced them to recoil, their few remaining tendrils pulled back into the stone it was intwine within. Several chucks had crumbled off and holes littered the interior, leaving the office in total shambles between the wood Elf’s hacking, the vines’ attack and Khan’s own orderly mess. Slowly, he edged deeper in. He didn’t bother picking up his cane and hide his pain from each step, the leg flared at the applied pressure. Khan had little time to speak before Rathel’s voice started causing the headmaster to whip his attention in the demon’s direction. “I told you, Khan. This shouldn’t have happened...”
