It should help for you to go to sleep, as well as preventing and helping with the coughing. I'd also try some warm water with a bit of lemon in it, or black current cordial.
As much as its probably hot and sucky, wrap yourself in a lot of blankets, and drink a lot of fluids, even if you don't feel like it. Soup is good, it helps with staying hydrated as well as nutrition.
Um. If its possible, get some anti-histamines too. Just some over the counter stuff, or even cough medicine. I can't tell you which, cause you guys have different ones that Australia.
