Cer hated paperwork, she would never say so but paper work made her want to scream. Controlled emotions or not her annoyance was rather clear, she barely managed to smile for her ID card. They were puzzled by the fact that her only records were an adoption certificate and her Meta Registration forms. No birth certificate, no passport, no foreign documents. Her adoption record made it clear that she was American but there was no documentation that usually came with an American. She had no answers for them, she didn't know if she ever had any of those things. It took a while to get everything sorted out, a lot of her registration was based on her word since there was no verification. It only took a little longer to get her standard gear, safe phone and Bluetooth ear piece, and ID card, which apparently gave her access to anything available to her level of security clearance which was rather low but she wasn't going to push it.

With that she left the office, thanking Light and insisting that she could find her own way there. Cer momentarily entertained the idea of asking the stranger, whose name now appeared to be Nathan to walk with her but she decided otherwise, she still felt like there was reason to be wary of him. Her 'company phone' had directions to the HQ which was several blocks away, so in all a rather short walk. She noticed the closer to the HQ she got the nicer the area seemed as well as the more meta-oriented if you could call it that. There were many businesses in the area that had capitalized on Meta abilities, from builders who promised to get any job done in a day and surprisingly came through to a restaurant that could make any food you ordered, from frogs legs to pizza to biscuits they had it all. there was a clinic that regularly preformed perfect surgeries no mater the procedure and a store that sold tech gear that could only have been made by a technopath. This was a neighbor hood of metas who had seen an opportunity to turn their ability into a profit and used it. She could feel the power in the people too, a surprising majority of the people on the street were metas of varying ranks. Cer was so distracted that she almost didn't notice the rather large HQ looming in the distance, easily the largest building around. She spend the rest of her walk memorizing the information on Jackson in case she needed to delete the file.

Stopping right outside the building, Cer took a moment to appreciate how it was built before entering. The lobby was similarly tastefully decorated. In the middle of it there was Jackson, who she recognized from his file. She approached him and held out a hand, "Jackson Ducarthy its nice to meet you, my name is Cer and I will be one of your instructors. My area of focus will be your powers, I'd tell you that I'm going to try to go easy on you but learning how to control your greatest asset is not to be taken lightly. I took your multiple personalities into account and I would like to train at least two days a week though more would be ideal. One session I will meet with you and the other with Kuro." She paused to let him process, "I know there must be a lot going on right now for you, I heard you're a new member so take your time to think about when you'd like to schedule this, in the mean time I'd love a quick test to see where you are. Not here of course, I'm sure this massive building has a training ground." Cer had a calm smile, she was in her element now, she'd spent so much time training not only to control herself but to help others do the same, this would have been a huge milestone in the MHLA especially for someone so young to have a student. What would have been didn't matter anymore, this was her task and she would shape this kid into someone she could be proud of.

What a day.

When Nate had woken up, he had only planned on a leisurely day of coffee and coming up with a name for his business. Instead he had encountered Eli Craigh and Ruby Greenfoot, met a kid with a pet gorilla, been confusingly weird and familiar to a perfect stranger and he had even been recruited by a superhero to train someone in self defence. He didn't see his day going this way at all.

After Light had escorted both Nate and his new pal, whose name he learned was Cer, to an auxiliary office, he had found himself in the obnoxious hell hole of existence that was paperwork. Nate had never enjoyed this type of thing. He was a man of action and the tedium of paperwork made him want to punch someone in the face. The only thing that saved the experience was the realisation that Cer seemed to hate it even more than he did. He had watched her as she filled out her forms with an undercurrent of rage that seemed odd coming from her. He had watched her with an uncommon silence and a slight smile on his face. It felt strangely good to know that someone hated this stuff as much, more so even, than he did.

Of course he still had to fill out his own forms and after a short while of deciding how much real information he wanted to give these people, he handed the documents over to the nerd in the suit who had come to collect them. Due to the nature of his previous work, Nate had formed a number of different aliases with all the relevant paperwork to back it up. He was surprised when no one ever decided to force him to hand those covers over when he left the military. He suspected that someone in power hadn't lost their trust in him and decided to allow him to keep his false I.D's just in case he ever had to get out of the country sharpish. After all, he had made more than a few powerful enemies during his time as Legion and there was always a chance that one of them may decide to take revenge.

He decided it was best to be more or less honest with these people and gave them the relevant information, making sure to not give up anything that they could possibly use against him in the future. It was in his nature to be at least a little paranoid and these people hadn't given him any reason to trust them yet. Of course they hadn't given him any reason not to trust them either but it was better to be safe. Basic details he was happy to provide but he made sure to give them a false address, just to make sure no one knew where he really rested his heads at night. He wanted to keep his personal and professional life as far apart as he possibly could.

After the drudgery of paperwork came the time to take an ID photo. Nate had an uncanny ability to take a great ID photo which pissed off more than a few people. He didn't understand why everyone elses came out looking so terrible. But it made the life of the people taking the photo much simpler, Or it would have, had he not insisted on taking several more for his duplicates to use.

After finally being released from the tedium of bureaucracy, he was allowed to go. Much less gracious than Cer after departing from Light, Nate didn't even bother saying goodbye and as he left. He simply waved over his shoulder without looking at her and said "Stay crazy."

He decided to send a pair of duplicates to gather his gear from a lockup not far away. He, meanwhile, would make his way to his new place of business, unintentionally following Cer. As he went, he scanned the documents he had been provided on the kid he was supposed to train. At first he was almost offended by the job he had been given. Self defence coach? But the more he thought about it, the more he understood. If he had been the one in charge, he wouldn't want to send the new guy straight out on a mission either. Better to get a bearing on who he is first. It made sense, even if he didn't like it.

As he flipped through the file, he realized that there wasn't a whole lot of info about this kid. He did however recognize this kid. He had seen him earlier in Lattetude, pulling off a neat little trick with some action man's rifle. It would be interesting to know what that was all about. Reading through the file, he came across a section outlining Jackson's powers. It was a weird one. Reality shifting? Nate didn't want to even try to think about that one for fear of hurting his brain. But what stood out was the section that described the kid as a power replicator and more specifically that it stated he couldn't replicate powers that had anything to do with the body. Nate actually stopped walking for a moment as he wondered whether or not Jackson could replicate his power. It was, after all, the ability to duplicate his body and mind.

He started walking again and began reading the section that described Jackson's split personalities. That was something Nate knew all about. Fortunately most of his duplicates were exactly like him, down to every thought process but every now and then one would spring up that thought differently. His earlier conversation with his duplicate about accepting this job had proven that. More disturbingly however, occasionally a duplicate would develop a wildly different personality. This was thankfully rare however and it was something Nate wanted to keep to himself. The more he read on Jackson's other personalities, the more he hoped the kid couldn't replicate his power. The last thing anyone wanted was a split personality as powerful as this Mu character bleeding through into a duplicate body and running free.

Before long, Nate found himself looking up at the HQ building. He wasn't the kind of person to truly appreciate buildings. He had blown up a number of them. If he spent the time admiring them, he'd feel a lot worse about destroying them. Hopefully he wouldn't have to blow this one up though. Even he had to admit that it was a pretty cool building. His favorite part was probably the attached airstrip though. He wondered if they'd let him borrow a jet.

He eventually made his way inside and began to make his way across the spacious lobby towards reception but spotted his new buddy Cer talking to the very kid he had been assigned to train. He initially thought he'd go over and join the conversation but decided against it. Nate had been obnoxious enough today. Time to be Legion. While Nate was a weirdo douchebag at times, Legion was all business. He knew when to switch off his obnoxious side and get to work. He was trained well enough to know how not to be seen in the busy lobby and decided to hang back. The spot he chose meant that he couldn't actually see Cer or Jackson but he was close enough to hear everything they said. He wanted to get a bearing on this kids personality before he decide on the best way to train him.

"Jeez, at least one of them was polite about leaving." Light said to herself as both Cer and Nate left for the main HQ after filling out their paperwork. Light couldn't help but laugh at their annoyance at the red tape, more so because she felt the same way about the stuff and usually had one of the agents do it when she had to fill out reports. Still though, Nate calling her crazy was pretty rude considering she got him a job. She didn't think too much about it though as she was getting bored, having finished what she was asked to do.

She called the HQ, wondering if there were any high value missions they needed done or something. When she got no reply, she decided to make her way down to the HQ to make sure there was nothing left. The busy meta businesses near the HQ weren't a huge surprise to Light, though thankfully most of them were used to her being nearby and didn't swarm her like the streets of the city in non-meta populated areas.

ackson nodded at the man, and gave the Owl guy a nod in return as he left. That just left him, the receptionist, and the girl. Jackson just stood there hands in his pocketd, looking, around trying to think if something to say, anything at all.But he couldn't, this was the first time he'd ever spoken to a girl around his age and he didn't know what he should do know. And why did she have to be pretty, even with all the grime on her it was obvious.

'Dammit, I can't do this, I'm heading back to my room.' Jackson decided, causing Kuro to add his two cents.

'You're kidding me right? Jacky-boy, she's smoking hot and your just going to just runaway with out a word. Say something, you've got to leave some kind of impression!'

'Fine, get off my back about, geez. Why aren't you this passionate about anything other than girls.'

'Hey, don't get snippy with me, I'm just tryonh to help you man. You've got to build up a resilience to girls, man. You can't just fall apart like this.'

Jackson, deciding to actually listen to Kuro on social matters this time, cleared his throat slightly. "Excuse me, I'm not feeling that well, so I'll see you around, I guess, Uhm, bye." Jackson just walked away after that, a light blush on his face as blood rushed to his head. "That was not my best intro was it?" Jackson asked Kuro in a low whisper, only to be met with silence. 'Wonderful.'

Jackson was intercepted, however, by a strange woman ho was claiming to help him with his powers. The alarm bells were ringing in his head from the get-go, and the minute she said the word test, Jackson gave her a chilling glare hat was filled with a deep dark hatred, and behind it was pain, suffering, and further still, a dark insanity that seemed on the cusp of being unleashed. He'd been having people "help" him with his powers all of his life, and because of that he would treat every adult that approached him with a healthy deal of suspicion and mistrust, and the only tests he had ever know were filled with nothing but pain.

"What training? Nobody told me anything about this and what can you possibly "help" me with. I mean no disrespect, but as far as I know, it's not exactly a common ability." A slight amount of sarcasm was present in his voice, courtesy of Kuro's influence, s was a cold harshness that Jackson rarely ever used. Speaking of, Kuro was staying silent in Jackson's subconscious, but he was poised to switch with Jackson and slip out of here if things went south. "Give me a reason I should trust you, Ms. Cer, then I'll think about this. . . schedule thing. What is a schedule?" Jackson asked the last part hesitantly, not trusting this woman to give him a straight answer, but to curious not to try.

Cer listened to Jackson's concerns and caught his glare, she stared right at him and smiled, if he though he could intimidate her he had another thing coming. At least this was evidence his guard was already up and he was being rather protective. She could work with this. "Oh Jackson, you're still rather naïve aren't you? A lot of what goes on in this place is going to be above your head, the difference between this place and others is if you tried to leave, they would let you. Whether or not that's a good idea is for you to decide. I know about your past, well some of it the files are a bit spotty. You lack focus to use your power properly, and trust me I know more about it than you would think." Her smile turned a bit more sly and she said quietly, "I know plenty about split personalities too, I think you'd be surprised how similar we are." She stopped to let him process, an image of a teenaged version of herself popped into her head. She'd been much worse, Avarice had almost won back in those days. This was no time to be reminiscing, this kid was going to worse in different ways.

"You need a reason? I need a reason to trust you too don't I? You've had it pretty rough but you're in no place to make demands, if you don't want to learn how to control your powers then I have no business forcing you to learn. There are other assignments I can be doing. The only thing that you have to trust me by is the fact that I'm unsure whether to trust these people either. If that's not enough then I can go." She hadn't realized how serious she had gotten her mouth was now a hard line, she softened a bit, " A schedule is a basically a plan." She sighed, "Look, the only way people can help you is if you let them. I understand that you may not be ready for this, its not an easy task, I'll come back tomorrow if you want some time to think."

The jet would take off and head towards the Middle East it was a long flight to Jordan. There was a short stop in France to refuel and get equipment. After Four hours near Nice the jet took off for a shorter journey to Jordan.

The private jet landed near Amman Jordan at a Royal Air Field.

The journey to Syria was treacherous and and filled with danger. There were many ISIL fighters in Jordan but the nation had yet to fall. In fact Jordan was holding on very well. The jeep took them to the border.

"From here lies nothing but danger for you guys. Any second thoughts?"

Olivia seemed chirpy that morning which could mean two things - she was either still feeling the effects of the complimentary bottle of wine that had been left in her room the night before r she had just received a job that would allow her to get out and about. In this case, it was in fact both.

Once she had dressed and left her room, she decided to pay a small visit to Cedric - she had a job to do which was making sure that Cedric didn't do anything stupid. If he was stressed out with his work-load then he would make stupid mistakes. Knocking his door, she waited a few seconds before entering. She was up early so he was caught out making breakfast for himself. "Mr Wessex." Olivia nodded in greeting before walking closer, her heels clicking on the hardwood floors. "I know you probably won't like this idea but how about you let me run this place for a day or two? You're stressed and you have a lot on your plate. Take a rest and think over some of your decisions - like the adoption plan. Trust me, the Heroes have the utmost faith in me to lead and you'll only be gone for a day or two." By this point, she was leaning against the cupboard bedside him, staring at him with those large, innocent eyes. She was impossible to decline.

First stop; the lobby! Olivia met Albert on the way out and he accompanied her down to the expansive area. Olivia did a quick check over the staff but took note of an incident occurring between a white-haired woman and a younger male. "Keep an eye on them, please. Call me if things become violent." She murmured to one of the young receptionists before getting on her way again. "Miss, there's a large package and crew addressed to Mr Wessex. Would you like to handle it?" Another receptionist queried before Olivia nodded, giving him an encouraging smile that he couldn't help but return.

Next stop; the delivery bay! Albert wasn't very approving of her getting down amongst the men working to unload various packages from trucks but she didn't mind. Moving through the crowded area, Olivia finally reached a bay which was closely guarded by men who were definitely not Reformists. "This package is for Cedric Wessex. Not you, whoever you are." Sneered a rather snooty looking lab-coat-wearing man. "I'm glad you noticed! Was it the breasts that gave it away?" Olivia questioned, her tone serious yet mocking as the man blushed and crossed his arms. "My name is Olivia Octavia Delacroix and I will be taking your package. Mr Wessex is busy so I'll be filling in. You can contact him, if you wish, but the end result will be the same."

Finally, the man decided to hand over the package which required a powerful looking crate-lifter to move. Once the truck had left it's cargo which had been shipped to R&D, Olivia headed up to the labs to inspect what it was, exactly. The engineers present were very careful to lift the weird collection of machinery that oddly resembled a human. Once everything was assembled correctly, Olivia realised that it must have been some advanced android. "I swear... they make these things with the best intentions and then some technopath goes and hacks them." Olivia herself chose to use a notepad over a tablet - in the modern world, devices weren't extremely safe to use. Learning about the machine just seemed to shock her further. "They put a human conscience into that!? What is the world coming to? The poor thing probably can't feel anything that he used to feel..." She felt a weird pity for the robot so decided to get something done about it. "Please have Mr Wessex come and look over him before going ahead with any further plans."

Finally, she took a visit to the war room which required a full retina scan to enter. It featured a massive holographic table with the location of every Reformist meta in LA which could be expanded out to the entire country as well. "Who is that?" Olivia questioned one of the operators after a second, pointing to a dot that was ducking and gliding far above the city on the holographic layout. "That would be... Spectrum, Miss." The operator finally revealed, their eyes not leaving the profile that came up when the buzzing dot was pressed. "Excellent!" Olivia chirped, smiling brightly. "Tell them that I have a very special job for them. I want them to find Elijah Craigh and take him in so I can speak to him. Please inform Spectrum that I have no intentions to arrest Mr Craigh so try not to take him forcibly. Could you also remind him to point out my looks to Mr Craigh if he's hesitant."

A short time later

"Albert darling, I assure you, I'll be quite fine! They're not raging animals, you know! They actually have a very deep respect for the sanctity of metahumans so if I head into there with only peace on my mind then no harm shall befall me!" Smiling brightly, she leaned over and gave her butler a gentle peck on the cheek. "Your concern is appreciated, Albert, but I'm a woman grown - I can do this." Olivia was basically impossible to argue with whenever she had Pyxis activated so eventually, the old butler allowed her to climb from the unmarked SUV. The New Sun building was only across the road and her inevitable target.

Olivia knew that Cedric would grow concerned and have her monitored if she told him that she was going so she elected to not tell anyone and just take Albert along for the ride. Her rather noticeable choice of colourful clothing was covered by a long coat so only her tights and her boots were visible. All in all, she just looked like any other initiate eager to get into the Underground Movement. "I'll be out in two hours, Albert. If I'm not then assume that I've done really well. Got it?" She murmured in the window before standing back as the car pulled off. Olivia was by herself now but she couldn't help but feel the rush of adrenaline - this was going to be interesting.

Getting inside wasn't a problem. Finding the place were all the initiates gathered was. Finally, she found another wandering person and followed them down into lower sections of the building which led into a large chamber. There were all mannerisms of fantastical creatures down in the open room - ranging from elves to demons. Then there was Isabella Lancaster herself, sitting high above the rest atop her throne. Olivia had her hood up and although she had some resistance to telepathy, the weird creatures would eventually learn her true intentions. She decided to stay in the shadows and listen to Isabella for a moment or two - she needed to learn her intentions.

Cedric, surprised by Olivia, was nevertheless able to give his assent; it was true, he did have a workload, so, all right, he'll be resting. However, he won't be sleeping in; he was going to catch up on his reading. A new book had come up on the history of Wales - it might make for depressing reading, due to the book supposedly ending with the suppression of the last great Welsh Rebellion by England - and he wanted to finish it.

When news arrived to him of Hayden, aka Tribuo Spero's apperance, though, the young man went back to work right away, changing to a suit and a longcoat. After seeing the android's condition, Cedric can only remark:

"They should have sent you in more comfortable arrangements; you're still sapient, aren't you? Anyway, my name's Cedric Wessex, and I'm the person who hired you. Welcome to the International Heroes."

"If there's anything I can do for you, anything, don't hesitate to ask," the 20-year old said sincerely.

He'd tried to ask for more details about what they'd be up against when they went to steal a baby from the underground, but Cedric was already on his phone and if he heard them he didn't deign to answer. He supposed that meant the meeting was over, so he got up from his console and walked out without a sound. It might just be just be bitterness trying to take hold again but sometimes The Owlman really thought that he'd only been called up here to round out the numbers. The L.A. office was noticeably short staffed, regardless of the larger than average number of Meta that lived here, and he was pretty high profile. It really didn't matter though. If all he was expected to do was sit at the big table and look handsome, well, that suited him just fine. Let the others handle the decision making. He'd pose for photos with the rest of them and that would be enough. Show that even people like him could rise up to esteemed positions.

It might be just for show, but that was him all over wasn't it?

It was getting pretty late in the day. He would go check back up with Casper, then if nothing urgent came up it was time for bed...

-----

The Owlman, despite himself, was not a night owl. He'd spent a significant portion of his life avoiding the sun, and it had sucked. Early to bed, early to rise, makes an owl healthy, wealthy, and wise. He opened his large eyes as the morning sun poured through his window and took in the sight of his room.

Beige walls, beige carpets. One large window overlooking the area in front of HQ. There was a series of shelves along one wall upon which rested a ton of memorability, mostly owl related, from what could only be called fans. Stuffed owls, ceramic owls, glass owls, paper owls, one owl that sang when you pressed a button on its base, a perfect replica of that clockwork owl from Clash of the Titans. That one was from a guy in Houston that had six arms and three faces, a construction worker who fought crime under the name Ravana. He'd made the thing himself as a thank you gift for The Owlman after he'd encouraged the big lunk to reconnect with an old girlfriend. He'd sent the owl after she agreed to marry him. Years ago he couldn't stand the sight of an owl. Funny how things shake out.

In front of him, taking up most of the space on the far wall, was a large entertainment system. A huge flat screen television dominated the scene, while under it and off to the side were shelves housing speakers, a DVD player, and a huge library of movies. Viably mostly fantasy and romance, but there were a few cupboards dedicated to horror movies. Horror, specifically monster movies, made up the vast majority of his collection but he wasn't about to broadcast that fact. People might start looking at him funny.

He felt around at the base of his chair and pulled the lever that brought it back into an upright position. He didn't have a bed. He'd found trying to lie in one with nails like his just ruined them, but sleeping in a recliner he could lay both his arms over the side. He picked himself up and got a stumbled over to the quiet corner of the room, beside the bathroom door, containing his computer. He booted it up and checked his messages. A few from monstrous Metas he'd been in contact with. There was a girl in Florida whose body, excepting her bones, had changed to the color and consistency of ballistic jell. She was finally going to apply for that modeling job, to which he wished her the best. There was a guy in North Carolina who had grown something like an organic jet pack. Smelt absolutely terrible every time he flew, but he'd included a picture of a new wing suit he was going to be testing out. Finally there was something in New York, a blob of what could only be described as living booger that a few kids had been secretly sheltering in their basement. They'd contacted him for advice based on his website, and he'd responded by contacting a reformist investigation team lie the one that had found him. After determining that the booger wasn't aggressive they'd given it its own space where the children could visit it. From the daily updates it sounded as though it was slowly coming out of its shell, even trying to communicate.

He was a little disappointed that the strange woman from the park yesterday hadn't contacted him, but it wasn't any wonder with how he'd blown her off.

There was a sudden knock at the door, and the voice of Max came though. "You decent, man? It's getting up time, come on."

The Owlman looked down at himself. Feathers covered his torso, and his legs were stuffed into large sweatpants. He could pull on pants like this just fine. He'd learned, very carefully, to take off his suit. But putting on that suit himself? That just wasn't possible yet. He pressed down on the handle of the door, opening it up for Max who stood there holding a perfectly cleaned suit and smarty shined shoes. "Come on buddy, we don't have all day to get you looking sharp."

-----

It was the shoes that were the most embarrassing, he thought as he walked thorough the building to the cafeteria. The laces, specifically. He couldn't tie them and he couldn't risk them becoming untied while he was in the field. So he wore zips ups. The laces were fake, pinned on to add an air of respectability. More than anything he hated the thought of someone finding that out.

Now, though, he needed to eat. He needed breakfast. He needed bacon, a lot of bacon, if he were going to seize the day. Bacon he would be carrying back to his room, because him eating was really gross and predatory and he really, really, didn't like people seeing him do it.

The next morning Eli found himself in the bed of his new home, one provided by good ole Stewie. He replayed the events of the night before, a bar, a pretty dime a dozen blonde, and a bottle of Whiskey made up the night. The blonde was still in his bed.

He got up and put his pants on before he started walking around the house. As he walked into the kitchen he noticed that his new personal assistant Eva Adams was already. Truthfully he thought he fired her last. He wasn't all that big on the idea of having a personal assistant that might object to his methods. "What are you doing you hear? Didn't I fire you last night?" Eli asked as he reached for a pack of cigarettes and poured himself three fingers of whiskey from a bottle he left out from the night before.

"You did, but you were drunk and OH MY G-D WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!?" She shrieked as she turned to face him.

Eli had a body full if scares. Bullet wounds, stab wounds were among the few he carried. There was one that just refused to heal even after six months , even now it was bleeding and ached. He simply used his powers to light his cigarette and then placed an erupted hand over the wound to burn it shut. The smell of burning flesh or the sight of it must have been more than she could handle. Eli watched as she ran to the sink and threw up.

"I was in the Rangers before I became a meta." He took a long draw and held it before exhaling. "That and time as merc, as much as metas don't wanna admit it, we die just as the same as the humans do." He pointed to the wound he just sealed shut."This one just don't wanna heal for some reason." His tone was blase, it was almost alarming. "When your done making a fool of yourself, you can tell me what's the powers that be have for me today."

She turned her head disgusted with his actions and her own. Eli chuckled before speaking again. "What's that, you taken by a vision?"

"Something is very wrong with you Eli. How can you just burn your own flesh!?" There was a mild horror in her voice.

"Well, when you get shot or stabbed and people are trying to kill you. You do what have to when the need comes. Over time you just get used to it I guess. Hell burning people alive hasn't bothered me in... Almost ten years now... I wonder how many people I have reduced to nothing but ashes."

"You're a fucking monster!" Eva Adams barked.

"Monster, sick and twisted, shitkicker, asshole, potatoe, pototto, its all the same to me. At least I don't hide or run from." Eli countered back.

With a look that wasn't far off from saying Eli should be burned at the stake she informed him of what she knew thus far. "One of the higher ups want you to escort them somewhere. Its a pretty big deal but that's all I know."

"Yay, a date with spenster. How lucky am I am?" His cigarette was almost gone. Closing his fist around it around it and erupting his hand the remains were gone in less than a second. He downed his three fingers of whiskey and poured another."Well call that girl a cab. I also need you to run out and get me some clothes."

"Mr.Stewart had me trained as a valet, I've already taken the liberty of picking you up some suits and clothes. They're already in your closet and ready to go. I also had the girls clothes cleaned and they are waiting on her in your room."

"Hot damn, you're good. You're unfired, now clean the damn that damn sink."

Apparently all Light had to do for the day was recruit the two new metas to the team, as no one at HQ had much of anything for her to do. Looking around the base, she noticed that a few of the other team members had gone somewhere, and after asking a couple agents, found that they were dispatched to deal with the disappearance of Max Velocity. "Well thats fine. They'll call me if they get in trouble." she said to herself, heading to the HQ's gym for a little bit before heading to her apartment inside the HQ.

Light's apartment wasn't all that luxurious, just one bed, a table, and a few other fixings needed inside an apartment. Putting her earpiece on the table next to her bed, Light turned on a TV and started watching documentaries, something she had recently been fascinated with. "And people think I watch cartoons... I've sorta watched them all already." Light said to herself with a short laugh. Nothing eventful happened for the rest of the day.

Light got up early the next day, having little need for sleep. After her routine, she grabbed her now, de-tooned comms devices and left to go grab breakfast, the space around her bed looking very cartoonish as she left.

At the cafeteria, Light saw many agents going about their morning, most standing near the coffiee machines needing it to start their day, Light herself not being such a huge fan of the stuff without loads of sugar or hot sauce. While grabbing some food from the buffet, Owlman entered the cafeteria and went to grab his food. He grabbed pretty much all the bacon inside the trey before he turned to leave. light was curious as to why she hardly ever saw him inside the cafeteria. She stuffed her food inside her pocket space and followed him, asking him to wait up.

The Owlman turned to see Light. The woman had actually been a bit of an inspiration to him bqck when he was first starting out. Her appearance was uncanny and sort of uncomfortable to see in real life, but she'd made it work for her.

He reached up and tipped hie hat before fishing out his handy dandy phrase book to wish her good morning.

Spectrum was doing his usual circle of the city when he received a message from from The Reformist Council telling him to bring in a metahuman by the name Elijah Craigh. He didn't know much about the man, but he would be sure to be careful when bringing him in for questioning because even though he wasn't arresting him, who knew how the metahuman would react to being brought for questioning. Either way Charles was sure that his powers would be adequate enough to detain the man if he becomes violent.

Charles quickly changed direction by making a one hundred and eighty degree turn when he was two thousand feet up in the air and began to fly back down towards the earth below. The staff of The Reformist Council had given him directions to the metahuman's address and Spectrum accelerated to Mach 2 hearing the loud boom of the sound barrier being broken from his high-speed flight. People who were staring up from the ground pointed up towards the sky in awe as Spectrum flew above them leaving a bright rainbow trail in his wake. Even though it was impossible for them to see it he still waved at them as he flew by and gave them a smile.

He soon saw Elijah's home come into view and he began to slow himself down as he made his decent towards the ground. He made a graceful landing right outside the metahuman's house and walked up to the door. He then ringed the doorbell and waited for a response. It would be rather annoying if he wasn't home or was just ignored the doorbell ringing, but Charles would wait.

Jackson

Jackson stared at the woman for awhile longer, looking for any sign of deception. Finding none, he gave her a slow nod of agreement. He didn't like this woman, she treated him too much like a child for that, but she seemed to be telling him the truth.

"Fine, we'll meet tomorrow then, I'm sure the receptionistguy can tell you my room number. I'll wait there for when ever you're ready. For now, I'm heading to my room. It was. . . . . . nice to meet you Ms. Cer, and I can't wait to see how you can help me learn how to use my abilities." With his two centx added, Jackson started to walk away, but stopped to turn back to the lady, a small amount of uncertainty and fear present in the Azure depths of his eyes. "You're not going to try and get rid of them, are you?"

He didn't clarify what he meant, didn't need to.

After she gave her reply, he would walk to his room and go to bed. The rest of the night would be filled wuth visions of mangled bodies and grisly murders, a maniacal laugh present in each one. Memories of Mu's rampage, and all the emotions they held. When Cer came by the next morning, Jackson would probably still be asleep, his bed torn asunder and filled with holes, burn marks, and dust. Same goes for the ceiling as well. It had not been a restful night.

Light scratched her head at how Owlman hooted while tipping his hat and pointing to a phrase in a book signaling good morning. Light didn't talk to him much, mostly due to Owlman mostly keeping to himself and Light usually out stopping crime or doing a mission. What confused her the most about the man though, was how he hadn't commissioned himself a piece of technology to help with his communication problems.

"Good morning" Light said, giving a slight bow.
"Ya know, I find your Tim Burton act adorable." Light said, giving him a smile and a laugh before looking at him with a confused look. "But why haven't you asked for a translator device yet? They made a comms device for me that works under toon physics, I'm sure they could make you a translator. Would be much faster than just pointing out words. Are you a technophobe?" Sticking a hand under her dress, Light pulled out a pancake she had put into her pocket space previously and started eating it. Often times people who weren't used to her found it odd how she seemed to produce things out of her hip area.

When Eli heard the door bell he was still standing in the place. On to his third drink and fourth cigarette. He didn't know who could or would possibly show up at his door step. Any neighbors that would have seen him last night wouldn't be able to ID him. Plus the late hour, its safe to think it wasn't any cops trying to prove they were harder, meaner or bader than him. He thought of ignoring that but that would be rude and illmannered one of his mommas would kick his ass for that. So with a cigarette to in his lips and bottle in his hand Eli went to open his front door.

He was shocked at what ue saw, some douche bag in a rainbow jumpsuit and red mask. Eli guessed that even the gay pride people had a meta to show they were loud and proud. Gay pride or rainbow warriors brigade, whatever, or who ever this freak was with, he wouldn't be invited in for breakfast. After a long draw and what seemed like a longer exhale, Eli spoke.

"...What?"

Oh, how do you explain the problums with that without being able to communicate? Truth be told he had commissioned a device to translate his thoughts into spoken word, which would allow him to communicate normally, but the tech boys had run into a little problum with his head.

The way it had been explained to him, his head hadn't been the only thing to change when he became an owl. He still had a human brain, but it was now sitting as the core of a larger owl brain that took up a lot of the meatspace in his head. In a way it had saved his life when he'd run off into the woods. The owl layer of his brain was what allowed him to bare the isolation without going insane, allowed him to process the details of his new sense of sight and hearing, and allowed him to eat raw meat without retching. However, whenever his brain issued a command it started in the human core before being translated into owl for the owl layer to comprehend and then shooting off to the rest of the body as some sort of weird man/owl hybrid signal. Which was fine for moving his arms and legs, and okay for thinking because he understood his own thoughts, but was really weird to hear out loud. Max had once told him that it was like he was thinking in a completely different language, one that was unique to him. Max had eventually figured it out, but it had taken the better part of a year and even now he was nowhere near fluent and still relied mostly on interpreting feelings and simple concepts. It was alot for a machine. They were making progress from his weekly visits, compiling a full dictionary for the translator to work off of, but it was slow going.

But he literally wasn't capable on conveying all that to Light, so he shrugged his shoulders and flipped to a page in his phrasebook. This one had an owl on it, but its head was turned all way round. Above this one were the words:

It's A Weird Owl Thing.

"Oh... fun." Light said, watching Owlman's reaction as he pointed to a phrase in his book. "A smart phone would work just as well too I'd think. You can at least use one." Light said, giving him a playful raspberry.

Remembering why she chased him in the first place, she asked. "Why don't you bother staying in the cafeteria? Socalize a bit? Its fun!" Light said excitedly at first, then trailing off with "Well, until you turn them into a living cartoon and they run away from you in fear. But don't tell my fans that. Though knowing a few of them, I'm sure some would like that..."

The Owlman looked at his big wicked talons and tried to imagine texting with them, or what they'd do to a touchscreen when applied regularly. If Light was trying to make him laugh she would have succeeded if it didn't required active effort on his part to do so.

He nodded in sympathy at her comment about weird fans. He'd dealt with some people who were scarily into owls, so he could imagine what someone who was really famous had to deal with when it came to freaks and weirdos. Thinking more about her, he relized he was lucky. His strangeness didn't have a chance of rubbing off on someone else. Maybe it was this thought that prompted him to hang around a bit. He nodded his huge head again, and followed her back into the cafeteria.
