Eden City High. Once just a completely ordinary school like any other. Until the incident. An unknown virus spread through the school, all of the students were knocked unconscious at exactly 2:37PM. They all awoke at exactly 2:37PM two weeks later in an isolated hospital.
While they were unconscious it was discovered that some of them were gifted with unique abilities beyond the bounds of ordinary human possibility. Superpowers. The school was remodeled to facilitate less students and with state-of-the-art facilities for both ordinary lessons and an underground floor for power development and combat technique. Many of the students, of course, were not gifted so, and they all got full scholarships to a prestigious private high school, most likely with some subtle payments to the owner of that school involved. It was predicted many students would try to become vigilantes, so to lessen the negative publicity of this they left masks on all the hospital beds matching functionality with their abilities and style matching their personality file. as they slept to keep their identities hidden in any nighttime activities, waiting for them to wake up.
Once all the students woke up they were briefed on the situation, much to the shock of many students, and a notice to them all that they should make aliases based on their abilities so that the government doesn't need a registration act to communicate about them legally, and that adults with similar abilities have been replaced as their teachers in one class. The students were given a week off of school to adapt to their new abilities, but now that week is over. School has begun.
"Bye Jason," Riley Steel said to his son Jason as he walked into school to his office. Jason laughed and shook his head at his cold father who he only found out in the last week had superpowers like him. And mom knew this whole time! How unfair... Jason shrugged and walked into the school, ridiculously early since his dad had to get in early to prepare and he was Jason's only ride. Jason walked around a bit, dropping his bag at the main classroom, which teachers would leave and go into for Maths and English, where all the students start their day. According to the government guy who introduced himself at the briefing as the principal, an old bastard with no powers Jason knew of. Jason saw a green-haired girl and considered going to talk to her, but the swirling pit of anger fear and grief made Jason decide to stay near the locker area. He went into his bag and smiled looking at his mask, a big reflective piece of glass that went around his face.
That "green haired girl", Artemis, was busy writing in her notepad things people would ask a lot to save constantly having to write them. 'Hi', 'The notepad's because I'm a mute', 'I'd rather not talk about what made me mute', etc. Mostly responding to the annoying questions people ask about her not talking. She'd only been at Eden City High a few days before incident and noone who really spoke to her much wasn't gifted. Agh. Meeting people is a pain.
