Maybe instead of the whole Icelandic stuff, (Because I just realized how little sense that made :P) she could have joined a gang after being rejected? Because that'd take care of how she learned to fight/kill.

I also don't really know where to place her old family, so I don't know whether I should just not mention it or say its in the US.

If she demonstrated uncanny strength or speed doing it, in front of witnesses besides the victim, yeah. Exposure is their deal.

Yeah. But I still don't want full blooded demons running around, mostly for reasons of metaphysics. They aren't allowed to just manifest. They have to be summoned, and there's an expiration date of a day or so before they poof back to the netherworld. Earth is not their home plane.

Halfies can run around, however.

I'm really confused on what to do with Karram then because I want him to reflect the Seelie Sidhe lore (being the ruling judges of the Faerie world) while having relevant use in New Camden and I'm drawing a blank. I figured the courts didn't handle mortal cases, but I was under the impression they'd attempt to keep their existence a secret at all costs and so the court system provided a measure of punishment for both tax evaders but also supernaturals who committed crimes while using their powers. (Such as Antonio potentially killing several innocents while in transformation.) Of course, this could be where my assumptions were wrong to begin with, lol.

With that said, I figured an aspiring Seelie judge who worked as an adviser for the aforementioned proceedings would fit snugly in the system. I've come to terms with not making him related to law enforcement but rather a more advisory role whose keen ability to read emotion would be useful to the (now slain) court/council. Would it help if I nixed the interrogator aspect and stuck solely to his position as an adviser?

I actually had a similar idea, along the whole lines of "secret underground supernatural war". Actually my imagined world could link to this one...it'd need some duct-tape, maybe some gorilla glue, but...y'know. Ah...but...eh...never mind that.

Is there any way to make your character a servant of the Arachnid Queen? She's a good idea, but too powerful for the character level involved here, I think.

Actually, let me ask this; what are her actual powers? I mean, she can probably still bring information from outside in, but she's cut off from sending mail out. So I'm curious as to how this affects her.

I can see your apprehension. As the origin of all spiders she can spawn any existing and even new species. This includes larger forms but she has not done so since ancient times. She is capable of doing all the things you would expect of a spider in both her human and spider form (climb surfaces, spin web, see in low light, move quickly*, jump great distances*, slightly above normal human strength, detect the minor changes in air pressure**, venomous bite).

While she is the Spider Queen it is not like a kingdom or anything. Mostly she is influential and finds ways into good standing. Actually ruling something is too much work for a brief reward.

Is there any possibility to make her the spider queen's most trusted agent in Camden? I'm not sure I like the ability to spawn spiders so much as summon them. I mean, could we downgrade to Spider Princess or something? :)

Edit: Or, at the very least simply be able to summon a host of spiders and use them or even see through their eyes. That's a pretty powerful ability, but less unbalancing in my opinion.

May I make a suggestion?

Why not a Spider Shifter instead of a full-blown Goddess and creator of all spiders? She could still give birth to broods of spiders and claim the title of "Queen" this way, but taking out the "mother of all spiders" background means she isn't more powerful than the dread mummy. Or perhaps she tells everyone she's THE Arachne when she really isn't, as a way of inflating her own power.

I think Seuss was going for a motley band of heroes feel with this RP (unless I'm mistaken and s/he is free to correct me). I handicapped Parael specifically to keep in this feeling.
