Half a dozen hours after I'd have thought (I was distracted by people), but I'm here now and ready to type up a post.
I suppose I could have her run into Jasper, but I'm not sure whether he's still on the Turncloak's trail and how far behind? It has been a week or more of time-leap IC with the Turncloak's second post. I had planned for my character to reach the same valley the Turncloak is in by following down the canyon, about two days after her last awakening. Jasper could see the commotion if he's nearby and join in?

I am also wondering how subtle the references to characters' memories would be...

Edit: Well, be I damned. Bloody thing crashed ate my post again. I'll see whether or not I feel like retyping it right now. And I was quite happy with it, too...

Oh shit that sucks! D: Always, always write it on a back up document program of some kind

To answer your question: I wasn't even sure if those would be Turncloak's footprints, I was kind of going by the story post in the OOC. But sure, those could be the Turncloak's footprints and I guess he'd be pretty damn far behind?

My normal OS on this computer has multiple layers of clippers installed, as well as the browser itself has been set to cache things, which means that basically everything I type up, bold, or as much as look at will be stored for at least a couple of weeks. This alternate OS which I'm only on because people invited me to a game? Nope...

Wait, is this some sort of Linux/Mac->Windows issue?

Sincerest apologies for my lack of punctuality. I was planning on getting the post up on Saturday, but real life interfered to an... unexpected degree. On the bright side, I read some Lovecraft and got some extra ideas for my post, so it'll be up tomorrow and better than I had originally written.

In other news, damn Maldron, beating me to feeding the knight.

@Shienvien Why not use Google Docs to draft your posts? My screen tends to look like this, most days.

References to memories should be subtle, but they will be recognisable. You might think that a sentence or phrase sounds really familiar, so make sure you're in point with knowing your own memories.

@KuroTenshi The intent of the opening in te OOC was that those footprints belong to the Turncloak, but I don't mind if you play it out as though they belonged to a random wanderer.

I kinda figured out what I was missing in writing - detailed descriptions. People here have a much richer vocabulary than me, though I have an excuse - english isn't my native tongue. I mean, I understand everything perfectly (mostly through context I guess), but I just don't remember half of those words when writing something myself. Though I couldn't actually describe someone/something in my native tongue either... I'm just bad at detailed descriptions. If you asked me to describe someone's face, it would go something like "Uhh that person has two eyes, uhh.. a nose too... and a mouth..."

Hence feeling rather out of place in advanced. Though it does fit Maldron - why would an assassin go into detail about someone's nose or chin. My post size also suffers since I don't bloat it with non-essential details. Like the berries. Round and red, that's all I could come up with. But since I am not kicked off yet, I guess I'm not doing that bad.

There, I am actually rewriting the post now... I'd probably not be half as happy with this one (beginning from the fact that there is always this more-than-slight loss of motivation writing things up the second time, and hence a rewrite is typically wont to be more rushed and sloppy) as I was with the original, but it'll be a thing soon enough.

Ehh, and Laue, don't worry, I didn't find your posts out of place (and this is coming from a person who habitually seems to write monster-posts). To each their own style ... mine just happens to be fairly verbose (the post length goes down when I am actually writing in response to someone rather than soloing, though).

@Laue

Honestly I love the way you all write, it's so varied and exciting. I guess the awesome thing about being surrounded by such varied writing talents is that you are constantly improving just by being involved. It's a great hobby to have :)

And hell, for English not being your native tongue, your writing is top-notch. You're right about it being from Maldron's perspective, too! But I originally came to RPG for the sole purpose of improving my writing. I started in Free about two years ago, and quickly moved up. I think you'll find yourself in a lot more advanced RPs if you give yourself time to absorb the subtle differences between sections. But you'll do fine here, and you're in good company too :)

I'll have a post up soonish, sometime today.

@Late And I like Maldrin, he's straightforward. You're writing style is nice, very different then mine. Post length and detail don't always mean there's quality to be found. Your's are good.^^

Aawe, I enjoyed your writing @Laue! Also I have the same problem myself when it comes to describing a new area or people or...anything really :)

I have posted (predictably, not really happy with this one ... it also ended up being quite a bit longer than the original post, somehow). If I stepped any toes, Laue or NewSun, just let me know and I'll edit the post.

By the way, Laue, the Guild's red is fairly bleached, and looks more pink than anything on some screens - you might want to use #ff0000 instead if you want Maldrin's speech to be properly red.

I'm just wondering if you guys are still open or not? I'm looking for an Advance thread to enter and this one was simply tantalizing.

I believe we still are. Sun hasn't mentioned anything about closing off submissions.
