Sam didn't know where he was. Everywhere around him was black. He walked around for a few minutes, before he saw something coming right at him. Even though it was dark, he could make out a big monster, pitch black with red glowing eyes. It looked like a dog with a big maw, ready to crunch you in a matter of seconds. Not again! Sam thought, then set one foot back. However, he soon put the same foot back next to his other, standing brave there, not moving a muscle, facing the beast coming right at him. No, I've come to this place because I was done with running away. Im not gonna run again. "You hear me? I'm not gonna run anymore. If you want a piece of me, you have to go through me!" Sam said boldly at the beast, which was coming closer and closer. The beast was almost at a distance that it would jump at him and tear him apart, and Sam closed his eyes. He didn't hear it run anymore, and assumed it jumped.
However, a few seconds passed and nothing happened. The beast stared at him, from around two meters distance. They looked eachother right in the eyes. "Well, what are you whaiting for?" Sam asked. "Finish it." "I'm not here to eat you." The beast suddenly said. Sam was surprised. "Whait, you can talk?" "Ofcourse I can, you can talk as well, right?" The beast answered. Sam was confused. "What do you mean?" The beast closed its eyes, then slowly got up on two feet, and it looked like its whole body was rearranging. Suddenly, it took a form of a human, but not just any human, a human Sam recognised from somewhere. Then, the black faded and the creature suddenly got colour. It opened it's eyes, more human now but still with a red iris. Other then that, it was like Sam looked in a mirror. "I am you." It, or better yet he said.
Sam suddenly got up from his bed. He had the same nightmare again, but this time, things had changed. He didn't run, and the thing he feared the most turned out to be himself. What did that even mean? He got dressed, and looked in his fridge, to find he had once again forgotten to buy food. Darn, looks like I need to have breakfast outdoor today. He walked out the door.
