Hey! I'm pretty interested in this. I'm to assume it's an omniverse-type thing where characters from all walks of life and series and universes and whatnot are allowed in? If it's okay, I have a question or two.

1. Can my character not speak a discernible language, and rather their race's own, made of various primal noises? I'd assume all languages are, in this melting pot of characters, universally translated into one that all can understand.

2. Are you lovely people still accepting character sheets/applications?

Hell yes. Get in here. I think you are supposed to put up a CS for approval. Your language idea sounds fun. As far as where to start, I would advise you to drop by the coffee lounge... and don't drink ANYTHING Bob offers.

You can have that happen in your first post if you want. Lots of beings just portal in or mysteriously appear places. No explanations of how they got there.

Name: Predator (Jungle Hunter)
Age: 857 Earth years
Powers: As a Yautja, a species bred to hunt, maim and kill for trophy and sport, the Predators are powerful bipedal beings. They have bestial instincts, an unbreakable warrior's will while on a hunt and an automatic, albeit slow, natural healing process for wounds. Their real power, however, lies in the technology they adorn. The typical equipment of a Predator is as follows.
One (1) Helmet - The main, yet unnecessary if removed breathing device of a Predator. Also included are a laser sight above the right eye and enhancements to their spectrums of vision, including night vision, thermal vision, ultraviolet vision, and more. Additionally, the helmet can record and play back sound.
Two (2) Armbands - Around each wrist of the Predator are armbands. The right contains a pair of elongated blades that flip out and retract up along the arm, similar to claws. While this is standard issue, the armband can harbor any bladed object the Predator attaches to it, be it a sword blade or whip. If it fits, it slashes, in short. The left contains a small module that controls the Predator's cloaking device, concealing them chameleon-like into the background, although their outlines are fairly visible when this is in effect. The module also functions as a communicator.
One (1) Medical Kit - The Predator carries a medical kit containing otherworldly supplies for patching its own wounds. Within this kit are surgical tool-like objects for operations, sutures, salves to numb and seal wounds, and everything else at home in the common first-aid box.

Bio: The Yautja have one directive: Trophy hunt. Be it for dominance, pure bragging rights or both, no one is sure. Predators are ruthless extraterrestrials that stalk any life they detect, similar to animals clad in technology and mementos of kills past. To commemorate a kill, a Predator will usually dislocate the spine and head of its victim from the rest of its body, keeping the grisly relic for their boasting privilege.

Yo. Your character is accepted.

However, you may find that the power level of most of the rp is a bit above that of your character. Your character is a lethal hunter in most sci-fi universes, but here a lot of the characters are literally gods, or at least godlike. The Omegans are capable of flattening an entire city with a single blast.

That's not to say there isn't a more low-powered area, where you'd find people you can contest with. However, I would recommend that you avoid messing with beings such as the Omegans, Bob, anything played by Tyki, and Tiny's 'Drac' characters.

Characters closer to your level of power are Mithias (A badass vampire warrior with minor pyrokinesis), Julia (Bob's shapeshifting daughter), Killroy (A cyborg with a soul), Tsubaki(Crazy psycho techno bitch), and individual Sergal(furries).

Should I create a post to intro you to the lounge? You'll begin in Bob's coffee shop, which is what this rp is named after, because everyone begins there. But it might be easier if I create a point where you can easily interact with it, create an environment so you know what's going on.

Tyki. You don't get to instawin in a battle with some of the most powerful being in the Multiverse. I chose not to nerf your wire thing's abilties before, knowing that magic absorption was OP as shit. If necessary, however, I will kill it right here and now. If you don't staop making this thing the next Darkside, I'll be forced to one-shot it.

The problem is that this thing can't really be beat by the omegans. it does have a weakness, tiny knows what it is, and he's been sworn to silence cause you meta game like a mother fucker.

As matt (thewizardguy) said, i'd suggest maybe having your char be from a more distant future than what's displayed in the Predator and AvP franchises mostly because he's currently not actually able to contend with a large amount of characters in the rp, however, i have various minor forces that i've yet to really tie into anything if you want to throw your char at them?

IMO, you can get along just fine without excessive power. Story is what is important.

Giving a character a singular weakness does not make them somehow not overpowered. Especially if it's something stupid. You already have a character that can negate most magical attacks. That means it ignores pretty much all attacks in HCL. However, now it also has the speed and strength to outmatch Bug when he goes Hulk? That's stupid.

In any case, we need to have a chat about this.

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet so I don't snowball into a full out rant like I did when I first typed this up.

Matt, I agree that tyki's char should be nerfed to some extent, or just not used for casual rp-ing. But here's my main point.

It's not all that overpowered.

Now before you say anything, let me remind you about arcus and his immunity to magic. Because I'm gonna use both as an example.

Arcus....was honestly a bit of a pushover. He was pretty tough, but the key to why he was so tough to beat was his immunity to magic.

Magical immunity is a power that belongs in the "depends on the scenario" category. Meaning it's devastating in some situations, and completely useless in others. Yes magic was useless against arcus. So chars like the hekate sisters, who are heavy magic users, didn't stand much of a chance. But just because he's immune to magic doesn't make him all that bad. Sure he's tough, but he was probably below continent level. Plus if magic is used to blow up a planet arcus is on, he's screwed if the blast doesn't hit him. Because being immune to magic doesn't translate to being immune to planets exploding.

Magic absorption is pretty similar in the sense that it grants the user immunity to magic. But it's still not all that impressive.

Also, yes the char could tear through the omegans like wet tissue paper. No biggie. I'm aware that the omegans are these big bad destroyers of worlds. But they're not without weaknesses. Take superman for example. He is immensely powerful. And only grows stronger with solar radiation. That's great and all, but he's still no match for a glowing green rock.
