@Loud Angry Dead: You'd be welcome to submit a character at any time. As Shien pointed out, reading the entire Compendium isn't necessary; it's usually better used for reference, if knowledge of one point or another becomes relevant at a given time. Or you could ask me (or Shien - she's usually faster at replying than me, and is in possession of an almost encyclopedic memory), if you have questions.
Hmm... I think at least the time-section of the Time and Ages-article would be considered prerequisite knowledge, which is fine since it's not very long. Taking a gander at the Map of relevant areas of Kirirak would probably also be a good idea, found in the Regions of the World-article. Oh, and the passage about races, obviously. (Eh, there's supposed to be a map of Rodoria in there, too, but it doesn't seem to have been added yet. Shien?)
Aside from that it would depend on what your character knows and what is relevant knowledge in terms of its skillset. Making a mage or Favored One (ones that invoke powers bestowed by deities) would probably require reading the article on magic; in case of a Favored One, the particular powers granted (and conditions for receiving those powers) would also depend on the chosen deity, so the article on deities would be needed. Just skimming magic and deities would actually be a good idea anyways, now that I think about it.
Those are the parts most vital to making a character, I think.

@Shienvien: Right, I'll start thinking about that a bit more earnestly, then.

@Jack: Right. I'll probably upload the new versions on the server a bit later, check with you whether they look fine, and link them to the site.

It's indicated that the naming scheme for Free Deigan are different. Do they use Fermian as well or some dialect of it? I'm just wondering how much liberty I can take with names. It does seem that there are some words available for comparison.

Deigan in general (actually pretty much anyone aside from humans native to Rodoria or Kirkin) don't usually incorporate names from Earth, no, but tend to use names native to their own cultures. Deigan names (including those of the free deigan) are usually made up by words from their language, with individual words within a statement being separated by a apostrophe. A couple of examples of deigan naming (although these are both ascended deigan, and coincidentally also both female) could be Vilhej'deo'calahuneth ("beautiful bright miracle") and Kyliarandririhl (which, contrary to the norm, does not have a translation). An example of a male free deigan name could be Gahmakajin, and are - as one might observe - usually shorter than ascended deigan names, and sound "cruder".
Deigan generally adopt shortened and/or simplified versions of their names to use among other cultures (Vilhej'deo'calahuneth becomes Vilhej, Kyliarandririhl becomes Kyliara, etc.), and rarely even borrow names native to the cultures they visit. But I digress.
Yes, free deigan ordinarily also use Fermian words in their names, but occasionally take names that don't have meanings as well. But yeah, it's in that vein of names, generally.

That clears up quite a bit. Also... can a Sartal weapon be enchanted? From the sounds of it, I'm not sure it can be.

As might be implied by one passage of the "Magic and metals"-section of the "Magic"-article in the Compendium, Sartal is actually very susceptible to enchanting.
It should be noted that Sartal, although an alloy rather than an element, has a magical resistance almost comparable to that of silver, though the vast majority of its resistance comes from absorbtion rather than reflection.
The Compendium

The downside is that it, while it accepts magic into itself unusually willingly, it is also rather reluctant to let go of it again, so any enchantment that can be placed upon the metal almost never affect anything but the metal itself.

Sorry for the short post, but I didn't have too much there. Not really anyone else's fault or anything, just I'on is tired and has no real knowledge of the demonspawn. Although, it does remind him/me of all those refugees....

@Dark JackSo it absorbs magic well enough but getting it to manifest it is another matter entirely. That's fine though I wasn't looking to make it do anything too... explosive.

Kyliarandririhl
- The introduction of this particular character still makes me think of a human character by the name of Xdagrun Akhanu Liathea Kitalras Ndijigi (from Xentheres Thauken Neji) obtaining a mildly sardonic smile, and stepping forth to introduce herself with her full name, as she's wont to. (Under normal circumstances, only people who are minimally close acquaintances are allowed to call her Dagr. If you can't speak full names, you otherwise just use titles in her culture.)
On another note, I am still not entirely certain how deigan (or other) words and names are really supposed to pronounce, save for pure assumption...

I'm also still alive. Just work and other things happened.(And I may have to sort my storage out a bit.) ASTA said he was writing Claw-post on Thursday, but got distracted by other people midway through.

Rhae, do you fancy posting before me? Just want to make sure you're up to date with Morgan's responses before I post Ixion's.

@Mercinus3

Sure! I'll be posting some time tomorrow (at the airport as Iv been out of country for the past week)

*EDIT*
Post is up! Sorry for the lack of length, but with such small talk, I figured it would be better to go slow and short so nothing gets lost in the RP goodness.

Jack, a random question - how do your wyverns move on ground? Are they the crawly type or are they capable of running at high speeds (much like pterodactyls used to, and some bats do)?

Wyverns are capable of running if they feel inclined to do so, yes, and they can do so relatively fast (around sixty km/h) while moving in a manner somewhat similar to that of a roadrunner (the actual bird), albeit with their wings not folded as tightly and slightly raised (they don't use their wings for anything besides maintaining balance when running). They are quite clumsy on the ground, though, and are liable to stumble or even fall over if trying to make an abrupt turn, and have great difficulty handling uneven terrain. At lower speeds - when walking or even just jogging - they are significantly more sure-footed and move with their body held more level, their heads lowered and tail raised, perhaps less reminiscent of predator birds like hawks and more of two-legged dinosaurs as they are usually depicted.

Ah, so they're bipedal on ground? Interesting...
- I'm more used to seeing quadruped wyvern designs (the some bats and pterodactyls I brought up above both use their more powerful forelimbs to propel themselves forward, achieving a kind of slightly more symmetric version of gallop).

Yeah, I researched bats in particular a little to figure out what you were comparing wyverns to (since it's so damn hard to find a good recording of a pterodactyl running... can you imagine? Unacceptable, really), which also lead me to research how various birds ran, since the way my incarnation of wyverns move is more bird-like than anything.

Eh, I have a question, Rhaevnn, which I've been pondering over for days now whether I should simply reply to IC under the assumption that such was the case or confer with you about first: does Morgan think Gaath is deo'iel? Because it sounds like that's the case... and does he think so because he presumes that all demonspawn are deo'iel?
