Ouch, ouch, ouch. Wait, it did not hurt that much. Just enough to make Gen say 'ouch' and rub his head. He almost collided with that guy. He sure was nimble, otherwise that little incident would have ended like the beginning of some shounen manga or whatever. It was not like he was a full-fledged otaku, but Gen occasionally dabbled into such things, reading only the mainstream and the popular. However, he was wary of the Manga Club at school. He was wary of all clubs, actually, but that one seemed a little out of place in a small town such as Warakuma. If it were on a big city, of course it would be there, but a book club or an Asian studies club would make more sense.

Oh right, present. Gen lifted his head and saw an outstretched hand and heard a you alright from the person before him. It was his near collateral damage. He seemed familiar. He was wearing casual clothes, so he would never think that they attended the same school. And that he was his senpai, though that was apparent if Gen only focused on the physical aspect. With an embarrassed laugh, he mumbled a short apology and took it with his own hand. "Sorry." He said again, standing and dusting himself off. "I honestly didn't see you there. I was just trying to get away from the two who are fighting..." His voice lingered. He had seen him, but where? It was frustrating! "Are you all right? I'm okay, but I don't know about you." What if he was bleeding internally? The other could be suffering and Gen would just be standing there, oblivious to the situation at hand. Was he? WAS HE?! He needed to know!

Kotori Shirohane - Warakuma Amusement Park | Sunday, April 26 2015 - Afternoon

As it turned out, neither of the two were actually hurt - much to the relief of Kotori. She looked at Akane in surprise when her classmate put her hand on her shoulder, giving a slow nod after a moment at her words. She even looked over to Toma with momentary worry before noticing the joking tone with which the two were speaking. However, Akane seemed to have other places she needed to be - and after a quick glance to her watch, she waved goodbye. Kotori returned the gesture, the other girl's words reminding her that she'd most certainly be seeing her again as they were from the same class.

A momentary silence between the two followed Akane's departure until Toma commented that she was nice - a sentiment to which Kotori agreed with a nod. Before anything else could be said, a loud voice could be heard calling out. As it turned out, it was a boy - an acquaintance of sorts of Toma, judging by the way he'd called - who came running and performed some mixture of a jump-hug-tackle. Kotori blinked in surprise at the rather sudden entrance before the boy in question noticed her standing there and introduced himself as the track club captain. "Ah, I'm Kotori Shirohane from Class 2-2," she quickly responded with a bow before another voice could be heard - this time a girl's; the owner of which was dragging Arata off Toma with a tone that left little doubt that this was a regular occurence.

As it appeared, Toma hadn't been here by himself but rather as part of a group of friends from the track club. A small smile came across Kotori's face at the antics before her - though it turned slightly more nervous when she noticed the number of looks that were being directed towards them; even if only in curiosity. At Toma's words, Kotori looked back at him before giving a quick bow. "Ah, yes, goodbye and thank you again," she quickly said, albeit still in her rather quiet voice, as the two boys headed off talking between themselves. An unexpected apology was then spoken - much to the surprise of Kotori who quickly raised her hands to wave it off. "No, no, it's no bother, really," she said, shaking her head for emphasis, before the speaker - the same girl from before - introduced herself as an underclassman by the name of Tsuruko. Though she'd already done so just before, Kotori introduced herself again; not least out of courtesy. Seeing as she was here with her track club friends, the girl quickly gave a wave as she said her goodbye; a gesture that Kotori returned before standing before the bench and watching the figures head off into the amusement park for a moment.

A small sigh escaped her lips as she sat back down - of all things, she most certainly hadn't expected this to unfold.

Kotori Shirohane - Ferrero Mall | Monday, April 27 2015 - Afternoon

Kotori stood before the grocery store, a full shopping bag in one hand and a piece of paper on the other - a shopping list which she was going over to make sure she had everything that was needed at home. Mentally checking off the last item on the list, she gave a satisfied nod and a small smile before looking back up - and noticing a rather large crowd up ahead. For a moment, she remembered the last incident that drew such a crowd to the mall - a pair of students inexplicably pulling various poses with one thereof being rather lacking in the shirt department - before shaking her head at the thought. Perhaps there was a performer showing his talent that attracted the people or some other such thing. Either way, Kotori decided to steer clear of the large mass of people - even if, she noticed, it seemed to be starting to disperse; as if the magnet that had been drawing them together had been turned off.

Either way though, Kotori decided to wander through the mall after a brief glance to her watch revealed that she was in no rush - plus also, with Golden Week going on, there were bound to be some sales going on for the avid shopper, whether regular or of the window variety.

There it was again... That absent minded look. 'Does everyone in this town day dream at the drop of a hat?' Unable to hide an amused smirk, Masa assisted the male to his feat as he spoke.

"Yeah... That fight was no joke," Masa nodded his head in agreement as he gave his reply. It was when the male had began to ask about his well being that he gave an audible chuckle as he shook his head, "I've been getting that question alot recently, but yeah, I'm fine." It was then that Masa had noticed the dispersal of the two brawlers from before, but that didn't stop mall security from showing up and ushering the already thinning crowds onward. So much blood on the floor, "Damn near killed each other... The morons." With a heavy sigh of disappointment, he'd shake his head.

It was then that Masa began glancing about the area around them, spying a few onlookers who dispersed upon notice. Seemed their little mishap had garnered some attention from those around them, few gossping back and forth in hushed tones. Perhaps they were looking for another fight to start up, or just amused at the comical antics that were transpiring. Whatever the reason, Masa sighed heavily as he hung his head. 'I just can't seem to get away.' Still, he'd motion with his head for the one behind him to follow, making his way to the cinema.

"Seen the new movie yet? Been looking for some way to kill time, figured I'd give it a shot." It was only after speaking that he'd glance over his shoulder, "The name's Masahide, by the way."

"Hm, not bad...", was what he said, but what he had in his hands was a mountain of merchandise they were selling on site. He obviously enjoyed himself quite a bit. It was getting late, so he decided it'd be best to head home and eat dinner. Apparently his parents were going to be home for a few days this week. It wasn't often they could all eat together.

Warakuma Hospital
28/4/2015 Tuesday

Apparently he heard that it was okay to visit her now, so he headed inside. Leiko seemed to be doing okay from what he saw. She seemed to be in better spirits too... Then again being unconscious was all he had to compare her current state with. He was told police were here this morning too, which didn't surprise him, and yesterday it was family.

"I see you're up...", he called out to her, walking to her.

"Here, a uhhh... Get well gift, I guess", he pulled a keychain from his pocket and handed it to her. It was a Mitsuru keychain...

"Are you okay now?", he asked.

"Hopefully you can be out before Golden Week ends. It'd be a shame to be cooped up in here for the week off... But you must have some questions... It'd be best to wait until we all meet up together again, this isn't really the time or place, sorry", what with everything that happened, everything was almost like a fantasy... No one except those who have experienced this would believe them after all.

"Although, here is my number. If you need something, or something happens, give me a call", he stated, handing her a scrap of paper with his number on it. After that he began to walk towards the door.

"Oh and... Everyone in the drama club is happy with you as president. It's really energetic they say", and with that he left.

Game Over Arcade
29/4/2015 Wednesday

They were having a fighting game tournament today. Warakuma was small, and not of note like those in Tokyo, but players from the area love it when they hold tournaments, since it was a chance to show off their skills. Rui didn't usually enter tournaments, it was a little stressful and there was quite a bit of pressure somewhat, but he entered the one here, since it felt a lot more laid back. Honestly he just wanted to play. Having come from the city though, he knew a lot of tricks and nuances you gain from playing a lot. The game today was... Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the second rendition that was updated in February it seems, noted by the changes to the Shadow characters. He wondered if there were any familiar faces... Speaking of which, this was where he met Noboru when he arrived in Warakuma around a month ago... Not that was important, but he just felt like noting that.

Noboru Yamamoto-Warakuma Hospital- April 29 2015, 9:00 AM

"Psssst. Hey. Dumbass. Let's blow this joint and grab something to eat. I'm starves and I could go for some really good amount of meat."

Noboru poked at Akane, checking to see if she was indeed awake. He poked at her face, making sure not to touch the sore spots where he burrowed his fists. He poked one last time before talking again.

"Psst. Hey. If you agree to go it'll ve my treat. We can sneak out of here and go check some other shit out besides the walls of a hospital. Maybe that stupid tournament going on. Not before we eat."

Noboru knew she had to be awake by this point. No one could withstand the onslaught of pokes brought on by his finger. He checked one last time with a nice last poke.

"So whattya say? Wanna go eat something? Did I mention it's my treat? Because it is."

Sieghardt Kasumi - Game Over Arcade 29/4/2015

How he managed to convince his parents to let him out of the house and not stay cooped in studying all those business books would be beyond anyone, but if they asked it was because they thought he was attending some sort of speech on how to succeed in the business world. Thankfully no one from his family's staff had to go with him, he really didn't want a repeat with his maid at the cafe. And with his luck they'd be dressed ready for a game tournament, yet Sieg was simply down here to watch the games. If he played this game in the tournament he'd get his ass kicked so fast it would be on a top ten get wrecked montage. Now if it was smash then it would be a different story. Sieg guessed he might have been a little early considering people were still arriving. So he just waited by the sides until they started the games.

Akane Hanazawa // Hospital

With a scoff, "'After the number I did on you', Talk about delusional. This is nothing compared to how beat up you are. Catching you would be a simple task. You're simply in-denial. Seems you'll need more sense beaten into you. Not like I'd mind administrating it, especially one so willing to put their hands on a girl. Heh." she said half-seriously, trying not to laugh and aggravate her rib injury more.

They finally reached the hospital and started to get treated.
So much for having a fun time...

Same time

After she was done enjoying the moment, she slithered over to him barking orders. "You've a lot of nerve ordering me of all people around, you know?" he glared at her. After a staring contest for a few minutes with neither side budging, he sighed before handing over his humber. "Here" It's not like he'd have a chance of winning this argument anyway, giving how Akari is. "Not like I have anything interesting going on anyway..." It was either a week of being dragged around by this sister or Akari, so it was a simple call. Aoi won't take it over well but oh well, not the first time.

"If it's spreading photos we're talking about, I've got something far more interesting than shots of your little brother." He grinned.

"Touching girls in their sleep, you've got quite a fine career path laid out for you, huh? I can easily imagine being behind bars or 6 feet under. Whichever you prefer." she remarked, hiding her annoyance. "To be called a dumbass from someone such as yourself, talk about degrading."

"And why would I go along with you, of all people, to get something to eat?" Her eats perked up at the mention of meat but held back and showed restraint. Though, even that facade managed to break when he said that he'd be paying. "Well, if you're paying, I don't see why not. Let's just hope you don't end up regretting it afterwords. Hope you can afford it." She smirked before taking the lead out of the door. As for this tournament, who knows, it might be fun.

Shizuka Otonashi || Shinza Shopping Square || April 29 WED

A faint spring breeze blew along the streets of the shopping district of Warakuma, as a white, tulle layered, knee-length chiffon skirt fluttered lightly enough to sway the first few layers of the fabric. Its owner also wore a long sleeved, spring green knitted sweater with a pair of white colored wedge sandals to finish the current season's look. Since summer was not too long from now, Shizuka decided to go through her spring wardrobe more often. She might be an otaku but she dressed appropriately for the seasons but unfortunately not for the occasion, the movie screening day as an example.

The raven haired female dropped by the Shinza Shopping Square today not for her own shopping pleasure or enjoyment but to search in advance for an appropriate gift for mother's day in the next month. She walked past Game Over Arcade, unbeknownst to her, was where a Persona 4 Arena Ultimax tournament was on going. Not like the freshman ever gave a chance at playing a console game, but she was indeed aware of the existence of the aforementioned game, due to her interest of the Persona 3 series. Perhaps she would try by influence of others but not today, she focused on the windows of the shops that passed by her half covered gaze.

The clacking of the sandals ceased abruptly when a certain view entered her sight. A view of beautiful variety of flowers. Head tilted upward to see the name of the place to mentally take note of. Shirohane Flowershop. Got it. Wanting to take a closer look at the flowers and its costs, Shizuka entered the shop with a curious expression upon her face. While it wasn't a rare sight to see flowers around, she appreciated the beauty and the fragrance they each carried, unique to their own. Her appreciation didn't change the fact that she absolutely had no idea how plant care worked or which flower type was appropriate for different occasions. Perhaps joining the agriculture club would help her in such field.

The student decided that it was wise to ask the person in charge of the shop to advice her on this matter, so her bangs covered eyes parted from the flowers to approach the counter and voiced out her concern upon reaching it. "Um, pardon me? Would you happen to know which flower type would be appropriate as a mother's day gift? I-I'm afraid I have no knowledge of flower meanings, you see."

Gen Itoshi

Monday, 27th, 2015 – Golden Week

Ferrero Mall

"I knew it!" Gen exclaimed as the other revealed his name. He knew he knew him. Masahide was known at school for having excellent grades. "You're a senpai from school! I... It seems really odd to see you without the uniform." Another apologetic smile. There was nothing to be apologetic about, though. He just did not recognise someone who he has not spoken with yet. "Anyway, pleased to meet you. I'm Gen Itoshi, first year." He added so as to make it easier for identification. It probably did not say anything to him, but it was worth a shot. "I've heard this movie is based on a game. Well, haven't played it, so I guess it could be exciting!" And there went his bus money, and any other money he had left. He was completely broke until he returned home.

"Yeah. It's not very often. But since we had the week off... Why the hell not?" Masa offered a subtle smirk as he gave his reply, continuing to step towards the cinema as the conversation with Gen continued, "A movie based on a game? Not very often you see those... Anime and books sure, but games?" With a shrug, Masa entered his destination. Walking up to the counter, he'd order up two tickets to the movie, paying for both before rounding to Gen with the vouchers in hand. It was then that he noticed Gen scrounging for something in his pockets, "Don't worry about it. It's on me." extending the extra ticket for the boy.

After the movie, Masa parted ways with Gen. He thought the boy odd, but then again so was Masa to many. Still, he wouldn't give it much more thought as his focus shifted to his upcoming kendo practice.

Game Over Arcade
29.4.15

'Game Over Arcade, huh? That's not foreshadowing at all...' The humorous thought caused Masa to crack a subtle smile as he entered, eyeing over the other patrons as he scanned around for something. He knew there was a tournament going on today, and with a game he actually had some experience with. It would be the first time he had attempted something like this, merely having played online with a decent record, but it seemed this week had found Masa out of his comfort zone quite often.

It didn't take long for Masa to find the sign in sheet, walking over and marking his entry into the Persona tournament. In his head he attempted to recall his strategies, 'Jump in, mix up, safe finish if blocked. Jump in, mix up, Atlas into finisher for status effect. Empty jump to bait, low-high mix-' Over and over he'd mull over these actions in his head.

Noboru Yamamoto-Warakuma Hospital- April 29 2015, 9:00 AM

Noboru scoffed at the idea that he wouldn't be able to pay for it. He had enough money to go around several times over. He followed her to the food joint of choice, taking a seat and getting ready. He ordered 3 burgers and looked at Akane.

"So. Are you gonna order anything? If you don't want to order, free is the best price."

He chuckled at his little joke, waiting for her. He decided to make small talk, because of how bored he was.

"So. How about that movie hmmmm? I mean, I never saw it but I assume it was quite a good movie. Or at least I hope so, otherwise those people paid money for nothing."

Kotori Shirohane - Shinza Shopping Square: Shirohane Flowershop | Wednesday, April 29 2015

With a small smile and a soundless hum, Kotori adjusted some flowers on one of the displays around the shop - specifically, a selection of ever-popular red roses; moving them so that they'd both show their best appeal and also get the most of the sunlight shining in. Taking a step back only to then make another small turn or move some a little forward or backward, it would take a while before she was finally satisfied - much to the bemusement of her mother who had been watching the whole time from behind the counter. A bemusement which only grew when Kotori finally realised that she'd been seen fussing over such tiny details for nearly five minutes - even if it was a rather regular occurence, she still felt a little embarassed about it.

"I'll... take care of the new ones in the back," Kotori said, pointing to the door that lead to the back of the shop where most of the flowers were kept and looked after and where her mother, and occasionally she too, took up their Ikebana. With a shake of her head, however, Tsubame waved that notion off: "Actually, why don't you look after the shop whilst I do that instead?" she said, stopping her daughter mid-turn. "Ah, but..." came a weak protest but before Kotori could say any more, her mother had already stepped right up beside her and placed her hands on her shoulders, gently pushing her toward the counter. "Oh, don't worry, it'll be fine. And quicker too, judging by them," Tsubame said with a still amused tone. Kotori raised as hand as if to protest - but then lowered it again, given that she really couldn't say anything against it. "Geez..." she quietly sighed as she stood behind the counter - her least favourite part when it came to helping around the shop and one her mother seemed all too keen on making her do, judging by the chuckle she could hear behind her.

At least she could hope that her mother would be back to take over again before any customers showed up - though she was used to handling them, she still felt rather stiff and unsure about it; particularly when compared to the way her mother. An inaudible sigh escaped her lips - when a familiar sound interrupted her thoughts as the door was pushed open and someone entered the shop. Immediately straightening herself Kotori looked up to see who it was - only to be greeted with an unfamiliar face, at least what could be seen thereof underneath the long bangs. The girl looked to be of high school age, probably not much more than a year apart from herself, Kotori guessed, and seemed quite enarmored with the various flowers on display - she couldn't help but feel a little bit of pride when she passed some of the flowers she'd placed herself.

The small smile at the sight quickly turned nervous when the girl in question then stepped closer - and even more so when she addressed Kotori, inquiring about flowers suitable for Mother's Day. "A-ah, yes," Kotori quickly said, trying to keep her mother's tips in mind - a cheerful smile could go a long way - as she spoke. "Carnations are the traditional flowers for Mother's Day. Red or pink in particular, to show love or admiration," she explained with a little more confidence, if not volume, as ever when she came to talk about flowers. "If you'd like, I could show you some, Miss...?" she then said - with a lot less confidence and sounding a lot more stiff. Her mother had told her it was a great way to get customers to talk, but Kotori couldn't help but feel it sounded rather awkward when she said it; particularly seeing as the customer in question was of approximately the same age as herself.

Shizuka Otonashi || Shirohane Flowershop || April 29 WED

Not paying heed to the stiffness or the slight anxiety in the other's voice, Shizuka nodded in response to the shop keeper's offer. "It would be kind of you to, I would like to take a look at them myself." She said with a clearly excited tone, even with her usual soft voice. It was nice of the girl to show the mentioned flower to her since the younger student didn't have any idea on how carnations looked like. If she were simply given only the name, one could imagine her going through all the labels of each flowers in the place. Not that she would have minded taking her time to see each and every one, she had the time and it was pleasant to be surrounded by them.

Before following behind her to whereever the carnations were displayed at, Shizuka bowed her head lightly while introducing herself. "Oh, my name is Otonashi, Shizuka. Pleased to be acquainted with you! And you are?" As her hazel eyes wandered about, taking a look around at the vibrant colors the petals of the flowers had, she couldn't help but wonder something. While the other raven haired girl lead her to the carnations, Shizuka inquired about her curious thought. "Hm... If you wouldn't mind me asking, do you happen to grow these flowers by yourselves or does someone provide them for you?"

Akane Hanazawa // The Meat Shack
Wednesday, April 29th, 2015
Daytime

After walking around for a bit, they finally found their destination....The glorious Meat Shack!!! It's a haven for meat loving folk of all sorts where, unlike most joints like it, is opened even in the early morning! Which means, meat for breakfast, meat for lunch and meat for lunch! Walking in, Noboru went ahead and ordered.

"Heh, Hope that's just an appetizer." Turning to the server, "I'll start out with 5 Hamburgers, 2 large fries, a medium rare steak and a large coke." As the server left, she turned back towards Noboru. "That should hold me off for a little. After all that time spent in the hospital with that crap they called food, it's good to have real food again. And I agree, nothing like free food." She grinned as she threw the joke back at him.

As they waited for their food to arrive, Noboru's boredom began to show as brought up the movie that's all the rage now. "Ah, that Persona movie, Falling down, was it? Yea, I haven't seen it either myself. It seems to be all anyone can talk about lately. Will have to check it out one of these days, but I'm pretty much always per-occupied to go out and see it. With Kendo and manga and all."

Alexei Dragunov || April 29, Payday - Wednesday

The past few days had been quite good. Elena had managed to convince the doctor to let their mother go to the beach along with them. They had a quiet and fun time. Alexei also displayed his open grill skills to his mother who was quiet amazed by the cook Alexei was turning into. Elena had kept her updated with her lunch variety that he cooked for her daily but to see it with her own eyes nearly brought her to tears.

There was also the fact that each day, she was greeted with a wonderful Ikebana bouquet which set her mind in the right direction. She was still depressed and sad at their state but hope was finally budding inside her watching her two children grow up. Each a miracle considering their formative years.

The concern and worry she had for Alexei was allayed somewhat by the uttermost sincerity and devotion that shone in his eyes. She was confident that even without her being there to guide and shape his personality, he'd be the ideal husband. She chuckled a bit to herself at the thought and wondered if the hospital had made her go senile. Nevertheless, she was also glad to see how Elena was blossoming. She couldn't call herself a mother to the young one, Alexei had borne that burden alone. He had been her Father, Mother and brother.

Shaking her mind off such thoughts she just enjoyed the view ad the gentle breeze that blew, the fact that her children cherished and loved her was deeply moving. The day had been fun and the Dragunovs had a nice time in each others company. The girls also got to peek into Alexei's philosophical side on few instances.

--

Today, was payday. With his salary in hand and the packet he received from Miyamoto-san for his monthly expenses. Alexei went to the shopping square after settling the hospital expenses. Walking like an arrow, straight to the Shirohane Flowerstore he walked in as the bell chimed at the door.

"Good morning Kotori-san. How are you?" he asked the raved haired schoolmate. She seemed to be in the middle of showing another girl some flowers, Alexei ruffled his hair apologetically

"Sorry to intrude. I'll go meet Shirohane-dono." he bowed a bit before going to the back of the shop, knocking on the door to the backroom.

"Shirohane-dono! it's me Alexei." he said. Standing at the edge and speaking in a higher tone than his regular rumble, because his voice was a deep baritone, he rarely raised his voice. But on occasions he did, it seemed like small thunderclaps.

Kotori Shirohane - Shinza Shopping Square: Shirohane Flowershop | Wednesday, April 29 2015

For a moment, Kotori looked almost surprised when the girl gave a quick nod to confirm the question before then introducing herself - Otonashi, Shizuka. Kotori gave a bow in response before speaking to answer in turn: "I'm Kotori Shirohane, daughter of Tsubame Shirohane, the owner of this shop. Pleased to meet you too, Otonashi-san," Kotori thought on the name for a moment - had she heard it somewhere before, at school or elsewhere perhaps? If she did, it didn't immediately come to mind so that she instead put that aside for the moment and instead focused on the request by the other girl. Holding one hand out in the direction to go, together with a "this way, please," Kotori then lead Shizuka over to a set of shelves atop which a variety of carnations were found; passing by other displays full of tulips, roses and bouquets of multiple flowers while they did.

Barely getting two steps, though, a small chime was heard as the door was opened for the second time in as many minutes. Looking toward the entering person, Kotori recognised the rather tall figure quite quickly given his stature - Alexei Dragunov, a Third Year from Warakuma High who had placed an order for regular deliveries of Ikebana bouquets. As he greeted her, Kotori quickly glanced between him and the girl behind herself; unsure as to whom to attend to first - but before she had to come to a decision, Alexei seemed to notice the predicament and excused himself. At that, Kotori gave a bow, both grateful and in greeting, before speaking. "Welcome, Dragunov-senpai. Mother is currently in the backroom, through that door," she said, pointing in the direction mentioned before getting back to the girl at hand.

"My apologies, Otonashi-san," she said with an apologetic bow before answering the question that was asked as they reached the carnations - some potted, some placed in small display vases, some single flowers and others in bunches and in various colours, ranging from the reds and pinks she'd mentioned before to whites, yellows, greens and some in between. "Uhm, a bit of both," she said, placing a single finger of one hand to her lips as she thought for a moment. "Some of the more common flowers are grown in our garden, but others have to be delivered," Kotori said, a little vaguely - mostly because she wasn't sure how many details the girl really wanted to know. Either way though, she let Shizuka look over the variously coloured carnations for a few moments before asking: "Do you see any that you'd like?"

Tsubame Shirohane - Shinza Shopping Square: Shirohane Flowershop | Wednesday, April 29 2015

With a smile that was hard to distinguish from a grin, Tsubame was humming to herself as she busied herself with getting the latest delivery presentable - the source of her mirth still being her daughter. It was both amusing to watch the way she tried her hardest not to appear nervous around customers and a point of pride - especially compared to how she'd been the first few times at the counter; stammering in whispers and looking anywhere but the customer's faces; even if they were some of the regulars that came by every now and then and were already well acquainted. Shaking her head at the silliness of it all, Tsubame's thoughts were interrupted by a knock and a voice from the door. Brushing the worst of the dirt off her gardening gloves before removing them, Tsubame placed them on one of the working tables where a number of various flowers lay - some still wrapped in cellophane, others bound together to mark them as bouquets-to-be and others yet just laying by themselves; their purpose yet undecided.

As she reached the door, the speaker turned out to be the young man who went to her daughter's school - he had a rather distinct voice and appearance, making such a conclusion quite an easy one. Either way though, a smile came to Tsubme's face at his sight as she remembered the nature of his request: a bouquet each for both his mother and sister. "Ah, welcome, Dragunov-kun," she greeted the young and tall man with a small bow. "I hope the flowers have been to your and your family's liking?" she continued with a cheerful smile that matched her tone - and standing in quite the contrast to her far more timid daughter.

Mako Moritomi//Game Over Arcade

Wednesday, April 29th, 2015

==~==

Mako always did like a good fight, whether with his real fists or his virtual ones, which was, of course, what brought him to the arcade today. He was disheartened slightly by the game on the agenda today- he would have preferred BlazBlue, honestly, he had more practice with that one- but he wasn't unskilled at this game, either. Probably not god enough to win, but it would be fun figuring that out, regardless. A fight's just a fight, after all. May as well have fun with it.

He quickly found the sign-up sheet and jotted his name down, as he pondered what character he'd end up using.

Yu's decent- good wakeup game, good zoning through Zio... Aigis has some good defenses and mix-ups... Hm. Probably a moot point for discussion since I'll probably just pick Akihiko again. He's fun to play.

Alexei Dragunov | Shinza Shopping Center

The door opened to reveal the patron of the shop, dressed appropriately and with a warm welcoming smile she greeted him. Alexei would have to admit that there were some people that brought a smile to his face and Tsubame-san was one of them. The dirt on her dress evident as to her previous predicament. So without delaying any time, Alexei got down to business.

"That's without question, Shirohane-dono" he said with a little bow.

"The expertise and finesse you put into those further elevates their beauty. Never had I imagined even inside my head, that the bouquets would come out this beautiful. You have my sincere and heartfelt thanks." he said with a little moisture catching his eyes.

"I have come to settle the bill for this month as I just got my salary. You never gave me a number to save for so I apologize if I may come short. I shall pay you the balance tomorrow. I promise." he said with his head bowed.

"Also, I couldn't help but notice. Do you need help with something?"

Sato Hashimoto // Rento’s Room
”I don’t know… I don’t see it.” Sato stared at the picture for a single moment longer before passing the magazine back to Rento. The resemblance between Hitomi and Mina-Michan just wasn’t there. ”It’s all in your head. Not offence, but there’s no way anyone can think that a Warakuma girl is as cute as Mina-Michan.”

Rento scoffed. ”A ’Warakuma’ girl? Whaddya mean by that, city boy?” He leafed through the magazine again despite his earlier confession that he’d already read it three times over. Sato scooted up to the edge of Rento’s bed, stretching his legs out onto the floor.

”You need to live in Tokyo for a month to get that the girls from a place like that have a much higher average beauty level than a backwater like Warakuma.” The slender male rose and made his way over to the closest stack of magazines. He shuffled through the periodicals until he found an issue with a catch-line that interested him. Though, as he tried to slide it out, he toppled the whole tower, scattering the organized papers about in a mess. As Sato scrambled to restack all the magazines, a woman’s voice called from downstairs.

”Rento! That Moriyami girl’s here for you!”

Rento bolted over to the door, shoved it open, and leaned out to yell back. ”Tell her we’ll be right down, Mum!” The boys got whatever they needed together before heading out to meet Mika in the foyer, dodging Rento’s snotty younger siblings as they flew down the hall and stairs. Though, as the two passed through the house, Sato couldn’t help but slow down when he saw the piano positioned by the corner. Considering their house wasn’t the biggest around, and that they were practically connected to their restaurant, he was a little surprised about it being there. The teen flipped open the cover to the keys before being interrupted by Rento’s sister tugging at his sleeve, begging him to come play with them. Sato looked around helplessly for Rento’s mother to take the child away from him.

”You interested in it? It’s just been gathering dust for years so we wouldn’t mind pawning it off to ya.” Rento rested his hand on Sato’s shoulder as he observed the old piano with a lukewarm smile. Mika gave a greeting to Sato, who returned it.

Sato slipped Rento’s arm off of him before replying. ”Oh, no, I had no intention. It’s just a little odd seeing it in a household like this.”

”We’re not getting rid of it just yet, Rento.” Rento’s mother interjected, sending the girl bothering Sato off to go back to playing with her brothers. ”Yamazaki’s wife used to always play this old thing, but after her passing, he couldn’t bear looking at it any longer, so they gave it to us to take care of. My husband and Rento have been trying to sell it for a long while now but I just can’t bear to part with it quite yet. It’s like a part of her, to me.” Sato ran his fingers over a few of the keys, imagining a phantom woman playing next to him and the quiet sound of the notes. He’d no idea Hitomi’s mother had passed away. Though, it had been a long time ago apparently, so it makes sense that she’d not bear an obvious burden from it.

”Say, Sato, didn’t you say you used to play the piano when you were younger? You could play us a song while we wait for Hitomi to get here.” Mika set her bag down next to the piano bench and sat down on the very edge of it. ”She might be a while.”

Sato took a seat next to Mika, twisting to turn back to the others. ”I… could try. I haven’t played in some time though, so don’t expect anything spectacular.” It took him a moment to realise he didn’t remember any of the songs he’d used to played. There was a stack of sheet music resting on top of the piano, so he grabbed the first one from the top of the pile. ”Thank God I was good at sight-reading”

After taking a deep breath, Sato began to play the notes he read. He was at first painfully sloppy, though, as he went through the song, the muscle memory flushed back and he was soon playing without much mistake. The trail of notes leading Sato’s eyes across the sheet soon ended, and the room was filled with the absence of sound, a rarity for the Nakai household. The children that had gathered behind him clapped, the others complimenting his playing as well, and the teen couldn’t help but blush a little. He hadn’t performed for anyone in so long that the feeling was almost uncomfortable.

”Hehe, you’re pretty good, city boy, even if you have no swing.”

”Thank you,” He merely uttered.

It was only after it was over did the front door open with a shutter. Sato whipped around to see Hitomi entering with an almost astonished look. ”I-I’m sorry for coming in without asking. It’s just been so long since I heard that piano. It’s out of tune, so you’ll have to play it again after we adjust it.” Sato waved away the idea with an embarrassed smile while the other two teens walked over to the door, slipping into their shoes as they greeted Hitomi. He remained seated until the children ran off and Rento’s mother started cleaning up the mess of sheets about the piano.

”Thank you for letting me play, Mrs. Nakai. It was an honor.” Sato gave a weak bow to the greying woman.

She stifled a very light laugh, easing the male’s tension. ”It was very nostalgic to hear that old tune. You play almost exactly like her, skill level and all, haha. I’m sure Mrs. Yamazaki wouldn’t want this piano to rot in this corner. …It’s almost like you brought a little bit of her back today...” Rento called out to him from outside, urging Sato to catch up or they’d leave him behind. Sato turned back to the woman as he rose from the bench with an apologetic look painted on his features. ”Ah, don’t let this old woman’s ramblings keep you! Go have fun with your friends, and tell Rento not to get into any trouble! He’s almost as much trouble around here as the young ones…”.

Sato nodded slightly. ”Thanks for having me. Take care.” …He hadn’t noticed it at first, but the voices of his friends actually were getting more distant, so he rushed into his shoes, and, with a bound, dashed after his friends. They were already over a hill, and when they saw him catching up, they started to run too.

Sato Hashimoto // Murame Mountain
Hiking was not his forte. And as the four walked up the inclined dirt path up the small mountain, Sato couldn’t help but be out of breath. Mika seemed to be feeling the same as they both were playing catch up with the other two teens, Sato and Mika passively supporting each other on the particularly steep parts of the trail. It wasn’t until he ran into some kind of wall did Sato look up from the ground and stop walking. Well, not a wall. Rento’s back.

”Look at that,” Mika whispered. Sato stepped around the boy in front of him and gazed out over the cliff they stopped at. The rest point overlooked the entire town they had taken a train to, the tracks leading in and out of it, the whole area really. The male gave out a quiet gasp in response to the sights. The hike was worth it just to see it.

They made their way over to the bench fixed a little ways away from the cliff’s edge, flopping down and catching their breaths. The wind blew freely once they cleared the trees covering the mountain’s slope. ”So you two have really never been up here before?” Hitomi asked before taking a long swig from the water bottle Rento passed her. Sato and Mika nodded, both deciding to save the air at the moment.

”A shame you haven’t ‘till now. Heard they were closing this place off soon.” Rento snatched the bottle back from Hitomi, wiped it off with his shirt, and chugged down half of it. Sato merely watched the clouds go by, covering and uncovering the sun as they went. It was more tranquil than he’d imagined it would be.

”Who’s that?”

”Huh?” Sato followed where the others’ were looking and spotted a figure emerging from the underbrush that lined the woods’ edge. A girl. A familiar one. Her light brown hair fell down to her shoulders, her bangs sticking to her forehead a bit with sweat. Why was she so familiar? She set down her backpack, oblivious to the pack of students staring at her, and took out a camera as another girl emerged from the woods. At that point Sato snapped back to looking out at the distance.

Rento scratched the back of his head. ”I’ve never seen other people here before. they’re pretty cute though hehe Sato fidgeted in his seat as he tried to remembered where he knew her from. It was weird, the feeling of recognizing that face but not being able to recall any kind of memory attached to it. It was as he contemplated it Rento jabbed him in the side, motioning back towards the girls. ”She’s coming towards you, man…”

”Excuse me,” A voice said. Sato turned in his seat to look at who spoke. ”Are you Hashimoto Sato?” He was surprised that this girl knew his name, though he felt it only confirmed the fact that he should know who this woman was.

”Ah, yes I am. I’m very sorry, but I can’t seem to remember who you are…”

”I’m not surprised. I was a classmate of yours back in junior high, and I only recognized you because you haven’t changed much since then, haha…”

Mika interposed, ”I hate to interrupt, but aren’t you Chiba Naomi, from Class 3-2? I believe I’ve seen you in class before.” The girl looked a little confused for a bit before flashing with recognition.

”You’re Moriyama, right? You always answer the teachers perfectly when they call on you…” Chiba supplied a warm smile to accompany her compliment before returning to Sato. ”I transferred here a couple month ago, and I found it hard to adjust, so I started hiking every weekend… It’s weird, right? That a city girl would find solace in the countryside?”

Rento was right. She was right. She was beautiful. Or at least as the sun beamed down on them, casting a shadow over the cliff, the rays hitting her back and carving her figure into the blue sky, she was. And he was blushing as he stared at her face. In a fluster, Sato jumped up from the bench, pulling Rento with him and by extension causing the other two to rise as well. ”I hate to part as soon as we met, but we need to catch our train shortly or we’ll be wasting the rest of our day at the station. Until we meet again,” And Sato was gone, rushing down the hill. Why was he in such a panic over this girl he barely knew? Well… at least he wasn’t wrong about the train thing. Looking at his watch, they had to practically fall down the hill to make the next train on time.

[. . . . .]

Back at the train station, Sato, Mika, and Hitomi waited nervously for Rento to catch up. What had happened to him, they were unaware, but it was rather concerning considered that Rento was the one with the tickets back. It got uncomfortably close to the departure time when they spotted Rento barreling towards them. They boarded the train, finding seats with ease, and waited for the short trip back to Warakuma to begin. Sato shifted a little closer to the wall of the train car when Rento plopped down next to him, still panting for air. ”Here city boy,” He handed Sato a folded piece of note paper. ”I got her info for you. She said she wanted to keep in touch with you, since you two are in the same boat and all. Whatever she meant by that.”

”That’s a little weird that she wanted to give me her number...” Sato stared at the slip of paper for a while as Rento immediately switched back into conversing with the girls. His fingers held onto the paper for a long moment first before opening it, just to check if it was real. Sure enough, there was an email. The teen shoved the paper into his pocket before he could think about that sun-kissed girl again. The ride home felt a little boring as he watched the country go by from behind the window. Soon enough they were back at the Warakuma station, and the group parted, Rento and Hitomi heading back to the Nakai residence, Mika going to check out the stores one more time despite her personal bankruptcy. There wasn’t anything else he wanted to do for the rest of the day, and the sun was already falling, so Sato simply went back home.

Sato Hashimoto // Hashimoto Residence
As he laid on his bed, thinking about nothing, one of the last things Sato expected was his phone giving out a chime to alert him of a text message. The boy lazily rolled over and off his bed to grab his phone from the nearby desk. A text from Rento. Sato briefly considered not answering and pretending like he didn’t just get out of bed to check, but he figured it was some type of plans Rento wanted to make and it would be best to make sure that he wasn’t going to wake him up in the early morning to check.

hey city boy didja hear? idol group is playing at ferroro. hitomi and mika are both busy the rest of the week with family and im ALREADY BORED come check out the girls with me please

Thinking back on it, Sato recalled reading about the performance in that one magazine they were discussing earlier. He couldn’t remember who was performing but, along with the various advertisements in town, the event stuck out in his head. His mother was working the whole week and any of his other relatives were on the other side of the country and/or out of touch. There wasn’t anything else for him to do for Golden Week so hanging out with whoever was available seemed to be the only good option. And so he texted back.

what’s you deal with idols? But yeah sure, I’ll go w/ you. Meet me at the foodcourt Friday whenever I guess (´ω` )

Sato tossed his phone back onto the desk before flopping back down on his bed. It was already getting late, and all he’d accomplished after coming home was having dinner and lying down on his bed, trying to muster energy to go do something. There wasn’t anything preventing him from just sleeping though, so the teen decided to give up trying to be productive in any way and simply closed his eyes, waiting for the sweet embrace of unconsciousness to take him away to dreamland.

Noboru Yamamoto-Meat Shack

Noboru laughed at the clubs. He had the same dilemma.

"Haaa. CLubs are such a pain, I got my arm twisted into joining one, or more like blackmail. Shit fucking sucks, and I don't even like the club, I just got forced. If you ever want advice, don't join that stupid drama club. Boring like hell, and can't do anything. And between you and me, the president is quite annoying. Likes to be a bossy bitch.

Noboru's food came, and he tore into it immediately. Oh, it tasted so good, all the burgers. He quickly ordered three more, not satisfied with what he had. He turned to Akane and shrugged his shoulders, still hungry.

Akari Yamamoto-Ferrero Mall

Akari looked through her phone at all the pictures. Perfect. She got more of Noboru, which meant more fun, and just enough of the other girl for a good blackmail chain. She flipped to Akira's number and texted him.

I have all the pictures ready and my friends are ready to spread them. Whenever you want, the fun can begin.

Akari closed her phone and snickered, wanting to see what trouble this would get him into.
