Appearance: "Wanna take your chances with me?"
Personality: Fio is a cocky, arrogant young woman with a highly competitive streak and a strong drive to succeed. She ignores anyone telling her that she can't handle something, or that she can't take something on by herself, and judges what she can an can't do by herself rather then relying on the judgement of others. That being said, she is not totally ignorant of the fact that, say, most magi are entirely unable to take on a Servant by themselves. While knowing this limitation irritates her, she is not a fool and will not undertake a challenge she has no chance of winning. And yet, at the same time, she is a fool in the eyes of some, as she will instead try to work herself towards surmounting that obstacle. Even if it is something that most would say is insurmountable. In the eyes of some of her fellow magi at the Clock Tower, this is the behavior of a fool. But a useful fool. Fio has extreme confidence in her ability to take out other magi, and in this case she feels that she has no chance of defeat due to her experience in anti-magus combat. Fio has an aggressive personality and a highly social nature, and she has a high tendency to flirt.
Skills: Fio has a surprisingly high amount of training in hand-to-hand combat. Her skills, coupled with her magecraft, potentially allow her to attack Caster-class Servants in close range due to the latter's low amount of melee combat capabilities and low endurance and Fio's skill as an anti-magus fighter. Also, having learned a recipe from a Japanese corespondent, Fio maintains that she cooks a "mean teriyaki chicken".
Abilities: Fio's affinity is fire. Her number and quality of magic circuits is mid-range, neither particularly high nor particularly low. Her training in hand-to-hand combat combined with her magecraft gives her a brand of combat that hybridizes the techniques of a magus and the techniques of a fighter. Producing bounded fields and other such things for defensive purposes are a natural portion of her skillset as a magus of the Mal-Rai family, but her specializations allow for a more distinct method of battle then previous members of her family. However, no-one can say that Fio utilizes anything but the methods of practiced magus. Fio utilizes reinforcement combined with single to double action spells to pass prana in the form of flames through her hands and feet. This gives her kicks and punches a fiery, or even explosive quality(though adding the shotgun-like explosive quality requires more focus). Her spells are also aptly used in order to penetrate conventional magical defenses, disrupting barriers and in some cases, with enough set up time, bounded fields. While she is not as deadly as the legendary Magus Killer, she is a dangerous foe utilized by the Clock Tower to hunt down rogue elements who threaten the secrecy of magecraft.
Brief Backstory: Fio is the daughter of the Mal-Rai family. Not one of the eldest families, and yet not young enough to earn the scorn of their elders, the Mal-Rai family frequently made use of magecraft that passed prana through their bodies, emitting it as dangerous fireballs or other such hazardous elements. These spells were inherited by Fio when she gained their magic crest, and as she grew she realized the ideal application for such spells was in combination with hand-to-hand combat. She trained in various hand-to-hand techniques throughout her time in high school prior to her trip to London. Her education in the Clock Tower, while dry, was still a wealth of knowledge that she could further apply to her capabilities in order to make herself an efficient close-range magus. Her cocky attitude grew with her age, and many superiors in the Clock Tower at once believed she was a fool and yet that she was a useful fool. For not only had Fio trained herself in hand-to-hand combat, but she was also excelling in disrupting defensive magic. The magecraft that allowed her to do so was a relic of a conflict between the Mal-Rai family and another mage bloodline many years ago. Combined with her combative focus, this lead her naturally to being an anti-magus magus, an individual well-equipped for apprehending, or killing, magi who threatened the secrecy of magecraft. This lead to her employ as an officially sanctioned Magus Hunter. Fio was quite pleased with her position, feeling little more then contempt for those who would expose magecraft and act so haphazardly for their own gain. Her anti-magus capabilities made her a natural choice for the Clock Tower's representative in this new Grail War. After all, who better to defeat enemy Masters then someone specialized in combating them?

Personality: Cold, methodical, and absolutely against the entire concept of 'wishes' in the first place. As a Master, she holds to the view that her role is support: sustain the Servant, gather information, and avoid having to interact with the others taking part in the war (or people in general). Despite being a born-and-bred magus, she holds no great antipathy for technology; only an idiot would hate a potentially useful tool.

Skills: She's not completely technologically illiterate! That's not to say she's immensely good with it, but Bridget isn't defeated by the mere concept. She's also good at freehand drawing.

Abilities:
  • Sorcery Trait: "Bloody Circuits". The Carran family has long existed as something of an oddity: extremely plentiful, good magic circuits... and an ability to utilise magic energy below that of an average magus. The accumulated energy simply melds itself with bodily fluids far more than is normal, leading to their blood containing far more energy than is at all normal. They also have the ability to control their blood once outside their body, which without the appropriate knowledge would only be useful for not bleeding out when they need this level of mana for something.
  • Runes: Bridget can be considered something of a master of this type of magecraft, though she can hardly inscribe them as fast as some. Instead, if there's some need for high power or rapid inscription... take a little of her blood, and have that form the required rune on some surface. A momentary action, a spell, and the energy to power it all in one. She prefers to set up more subtle or permanent effects, but in no way shies back from something more destructive... or being able to use them to boost speed for a quick escape.
  • General Knowledge: Though not specialised in anything else in particular, both carrying her family's magic crest and an interest in conserving her own blood give Bridget a good understanding of thaumaturgy in general. She also has a surprising knowledge of Formalcraft.
  • Elemental Affinity: Earth


Brief Backstory: The heir to an old family, Bridget herself has little involvement with the Mages' Association, church, or too much interest in socialising in general. Her father, on the other hand, cultivated a good deal more relationships and was involved in the fighting preceding the dismantling of the Fuyuki Holy Grail... at least until he died, that was. Having found out that some idiots went and rebuilt the thing, Bridget decided to honour his death by setting out to dismantle the new version.

    A girl that's normally happy-go-lucky and silly, Hakuno is a naturally friendly person with a habit of putting others before herself. Lacking in ambition and desires, all she ever really wanted to do was just live simply and peacefully. Thanks to the turn her life has taken, though, Hakuno is become a bit more reserved and hesitant to open up, even if her selfless nature remains.
    Nowadays, Hakuno is wracked by guilt and fear of her future and actions, especially in the war. Obviously, she doesn't want to die, but can't quite bring herself to get anyone else killed either. Despite her lack of confidence, however, she is someone that will support her allies to her utmost ability.
  • Skills:
    Compared to most other mages, Hakuno is not utterly stumped by technology; if anything, she spends more time than necessary playing on handheld consoles, and even has knowledge of how to code programs.
  • Abilities:
    Hakuno's lineage specialises in misdirection, masking her presence in a veil of "forgetableness". Instead of rendering herself invisible, she simply registers as a generic and forgetable face, especially in large crowds. Unfortunately, Hakuno's lack of actual skill as a magus means that most people who knew her beforehand can fairly easily shatter this effect.
    To a much lesser extent, Hakuno can cast basic illusion spells. With her low amount of Magic Circuits, she can't manage much more than an image of someone (usually herself), that can hopefully provide a distraction of some sort.
  • Brief Backstory:
    Hailing from a moderately wealthy family, Hakuno was growing up to be Mr. and Mrs. Kishinami's favourite l'il failure of a magus that spent her time with useless tech and sucking at magic. At least until a few years ago, when it was discovered that Hakuno was suffering from a strange, extremely rare illness that would erode her memories before killing her. While still in its early stages, and not expected to advance for a few years yet, this is nevertheless a source of worry for Hakuno, and the main reason she's now fighting in this new Holy Grail War: Modern medicine can't help her, but maybe a wish can?

Name: Jonathan Tobias
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Personality: Jonathan possess a no-nonsense approach to everything related to magic. He is a mercenary for magus families and his life depends on keeping a clear head and sticking to his goals. No playing heroes, no mister nice guy, no mercy; only pure pragmatism while on the clock. You may consider him an asshole because of this, but it doesn't really matter. Everyone else in his world is an asshole, except they have magic too. Keeping your priorities straight and letting go of all things unnecessary when they become too much of a burden for the competition of the mission(and maybe even earlier) is how he survived until now.

Even outside his job Jonathan is a stoic type who rarely reacts strongly to things that happen around him. He is not devoid of emotion, he is just damn good at keeping them in check and not letting them show on his face and in the way he acts. He doesn't have close friends, but he puts up a facade of friendliness and warmth around the people he meets in everyday occurrences, like his neighbours, landowner, cashiers, random people on the street who talk to him. Of course, it is not genuine, and if his job demanded he killed them he wouldn't not hesitate to do so.

Skills: Jonathan possesses great constitution and athletic ability; he could make a good career if he started doing sports professionally. He has a good hand-eye coordination, so he almost never misses his shots. Aside from his naturally high physical stats, he is a good burglar, capable of getting in and out of places you'll think it was magic. He is also a master of free-running. For purpose of battle, he has a decent training in hand-to-hand combat and can expertly handle knives. He is familiar with guns, but prefers to not rely on them due to the noise they make.

Abilities: Jonathan has no supernatural ability whatsoever; neither inborn or trained. Since the early try-outs it was clear to his master that Jonathan's chances of becoming a decent magus was close to zero, so instead of wasting time on learning useless magecraft he focused on physical training. However, Jonathan is not left completely without the aid of magic. The coat he wears gives him presence concealment which prevents people from noticing him or remembering him even if he is in plain sight as long as he doesn't do something that attracts a lot of attention. It also makes him appear blurry on cameras and makes his voice unrecognisable on voice-recorders. The other tool he received from his master was a ten meter long chain with a knife attached to its end. This knife is capable of completely negating minor magics and weaken the effect of stronger ones.

Brief Backstory: Offspring of a magus family but with no talent for magecraft, Jonathan's parents gave him away to an old magus mercenary who was looking to train an apprentice as a way to settle their debt with him. What the debt was he never found out; his master never saw fit to tell him and his parent's identity was kept secret from him (his last name is his master's name). Thus, from a very young age, Jonathan was familiar with the dark side of the supernatural world. His training was harsh from the beginning, and occasionally his master used him both as an aide and as a tool during missions, experiences from which he carries numerous scars both physical and mental. Jonathan began working solo after his master's death four years ago, though he occasionally teams up with others if the job proves too challenging or the employer insists on it.

Jonathan participations in the current Holy Grail War is just another job for him. He was hired not to win it but to kill all other Masters. What is the reason such a peculiar job is of no concern for Jonathan. The mission is set, now its only a matter of fulfilling it.

Name: Erasmus Tormod

Appearance: Hrmph.

Personality: Erasmus is a (formerly) traditionalist mage who's coming to terms with the idea of his own mortality after the death of his wife of thirty years in a car accident. As such, he's decided to make the best of the time he has left, spending as much of it as he can with his grandkids and trying new things. He's gotten a crash course in the modern world, always trying to get more time for his grandkids and hobbies. As he likes to say: "50 is the new 30."

Skills: While Erasmus is in far better shape than he has any right to be at his age, he's still a 55 year old man and tires out quickly. However, he's also a SCA enthusiast, wielding swords and rapiers with ease as part of his regular Renaissance Fair attendance.

Abilities: Erasmus's family has been practicing Rune Magic since the days of the Vikings. He has a large number of mid-level magic circuits, meaning he can cast spells in rapid succession. As such, he knows how to draw the runes from memory and is capable of doing so in the heat of battle. Of course, one of the main issues with using Rune Magic in combat is finding a way around the range problem... which he claims to have done with help from his grandkids.

Brief Backstory: Again, born to a long line of Runic mages dating back to the Vikings, Erasmus was raised in the traditions of magecraft. Eventually, he married, had kids, and then they had grandkids. His wife was killed returning from the airport to drop the children off for summer camp, which lead Erasmus to worry about what would happen to his grandchildren when he was gone. His plan is to use the Grail for something most Mages would find insultingly mundane- to ensure his grandchildren will be secure long after he passes.
