By that logic, nobody has any say in the changes made. Here, every user has a voice.

I didn't mean it like that, you just took my words into a whole different meaning than I had in mind.

I meant that Mazh is the owner of this site, he can make decision that others don't like or they might like it. Not you, me, or anyone else.

Plus, would you have just words or words with an image that make sense and looks good at the same time?

I have finally realized what the Guild really needs. What will really put us on the map, and improve our roleplaying ten fold.

Ready?

We need rave versions of all our emotes.

I understand what you mean, but every user has a voice of input. If the users don't like a change implemented, yes, Mahz could keep it, but that isn't the point of this community. They're not looking to replace the notepad with just text, but the previous logo; if someone's opinion is that it looks better, who are we to disparage that?

What previous logo? There hasn't been a logo since the old guild crashed. Is there an image of it?

Most are referring to the green R in the tab image (which is still there for me), and possibly the logo you posted on the previous page.

To be honest, I can hardly remember whether there was a logo in the site title before or not. I've been referring to that green R, which, now that I think about it, has only existed in the tab (and if it stays there that would be good).

Roleplayer Guild some months ago

Well that settles it.

In light of that, I say the new title/logo is a step in the right direction. The colour scheme is good, as it matches the rest of the Guild, although I agree with Shienvien that the pencil-in-a-box feels very generic. It's good for a work in progress, though.

The green "R" was briefly replaced with the "pencil in the box"/notepad-sign, but reverted back. Now that the old old RPG logo has been brought back up (the one The Grey Warden posted on the last page and LegendBegins posted here), then I honestly also much prefer the look of that over the current header-logo.

(Also, if chat will allow users to choose the color of their text, then chat also needs the ability turn it of. I've been driven off chats by homicidal rainbows before...)

We think that changing text color in the chat would not be a feature that would improve the experience for most, not even if it was restricted to a few colors. However, different types of events it can make sense to have color changes for (user join/quit, user muted/unmuted, etc). The use of /me already bases itself on whatever color the user has rather than a single color for all. That should be enough variation wethinks.

I like the current logo. The old logo reeks of 2007 with the grungy font; the new one is modern. You will all get used to it anyway.

you know, you could always set up a small contest for logo? Its not as if there are no artists to be found among the guild members.

That sounds like a great idea. Alternatively, a new version of the old logo could be made.

The new logo reeks of lazy, and I'm saying it as a person who generally prefers minimalist design. ...Choose standard font, use bold, color orange, plaster a stock icon of something vaguely writing-related before it (even if it isn't stock, it'll only take literal thirty seconds to draw).
I am not saying remove it. I'm just saying it makes an okay temporary placeholder. It is simply ... meh. It works, but is ultimately completely boring and generic. It isn't memorable or distinct. Eventually, RPG should definitely get something that is more, well, roleplayerguild.
That said, a contest and user vote could probably work quite nicely.

(And if I hear one more time something along the lines of, "It is better because it looks like this year's newest fad!" I'm probably going to ... heave an exasperated sigh? It's one of the most pointless arguments people like to throw about when it comes to anything design. This is why we get things like the original Windows 8 design on devices that don't even have touch-screens and other similar mildly dysfunctional and/or nigh-identical designs.)

But we could argue our personal and less personal preferences ad nauseum.

@Shienvien, you are now just being rude towards redPANDA's work. It isn't 'lazy', redPANDA took his time on this. Whether you like his work or not, you don't have a right to being rude.

Plus, he took his time to make the logo and put his love into it.

@Shienvien isn't being rude at all; he's expressing his opinions over the logo. It has no connection to Panda or anybody else, only the logo. This is a safe place for ideas and opinions regarding the Guild.

There's a difference between expressing his opinion and calling someone's work 'lazy' all just because it looks 'generic'.

Then, why does it say redPANDA on the url of the image?

His opinion has nothing to do with Panda. If his opinion is that it looks that way, he should be free to express it. Every user input is important to keeping the Guild in a pristine condition.

It does have something to do with Panda as the logo was made by him. I know that he has rights to expressing his opinion, I mean I am expressing them towards him. I just saying that he shouldn't have used the word 'lazy', because he took time on making it.
