Personality
Mason has learned early on that at the U.M.F. death was his only way out. Once he had learned that his outlook had changed. Before coming to the U.M.F. he was a very serious, quiet, and patient individual. Taking the time to stop and plan for every eventuality possible before taking his first step.

Things have changed however and after his first mission with the U.M.F. he did a complete 180. Becoming a less serious individual, he began to take his time with most aspects of his life. He now tends to tell jokes more and even arrive late, even to important events, and tends to fill his spare time with whatever hobby he can. When meeting with the other handlers he tends to flirt towards Agent Ice, he keeps a flask with him for Agent Ghost, and tries his hardest not to get into any brawls with Agent Jackal after the first, and only, left him with a broken nose.

Towards the recruits he tends to act like a fun uncle, telling more jokes, usually ones only he finds funny, and trying to keep things lighthearted while trying to pass on the things he had learned onto the next generation. There are times when glimpses of his former serious self rear it's head and when it does people swear that he must have a hidden twin working within the U.M.F.

History
Mason was born to a well-off ranching family in West Texas, and he spent many of his days working alongside his his father and 2 brothers on the ranch tending to cattle just as soon as he would walk. His mother though wouldn't let his whole life be dictated by the ranch like it had his brothers, and most of his spare time was filled with his studies.

That was his life, day in and day out, throughout his early years well until high school. At 18, during his senior year, pressured by his Father to take over the ranch and begged by his Mother to continue his schooling he eventually left the ranch with warm goodbye's all around, even from his Father who had quickly shut his mouth after his Mother scolded him. He left home and traveled to Philadelphia, his heart set on becoming a doctor, and attended the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

For the next 2 years his life was relatively calm as he pursued his studies. He was at the top of his class and had found, what he claimed, to be the love of his life. It wasn't long into his second year there that he had witnessed a terrible car accident, using he had been learning he was able to save the lives of 3 people that would have died before paramedics could have arrived. The rest of the day he was praised a hero by those that had heard of his deeds and at the end of the day he fell to sleep in the arms of his love.

The next morning however he awoke to find himself in a strange room and it was then he learned of the U.M.F. and he was inducted into it's fold. For the next 8 years he performed his duties perfectly while on missions, although he was a little lackluster when not on a mission, often causing other to wonder if he had a stand-in on missions. On his 29th birthday, after he had completed his latest mission, he was put on a medical leave due to the injuries he had sustained. Mason decided to return home to Texas where he spent the next year making his own ranch under an assumed identity. Within a year though he had been called back by the U.M.F. to become and handler and instructor for the new recruits, and has been doing just that for the last 2 years.
