Ehh, not sure if there is a post order. Just don't spam. My suggestion is to wait for two separate people to post before you do.

On that note, how will combat work? I have drafted a combat post, but I am hesitant to post it yet.

OHHH, I will change that too. Sorry.

Edit: @NightmareInd So was there a beta test for this game? Can my character perhaps be one of the beta testers? If, yes then I will edit my post.

Yes, there were Beta testers, but they just tested the game mechanics, like pvp and to nerf any weapons or buff them if needed. They don't know anything about the storyline or any bosses, as they were for a select few only, the 'VIP-Testers', and those were people who just were there to test it and not because they wanted to play the game, which means that everyone starts from the same point. Also, I don't want any of us to be a Beta tester, as I don't like anyone starting off with an unfair bonus.

<Snipped quote by Crimson Raven>
I would be happy with this as well. Especially if it meant I could have a legit shop.

Edit: Also, which skill is used to gather wool, or to gather cotton? Or any other clothing material? And I'm assuming there was a skill reset on the beta people? For fairness (despite numerous complaints and ragequits on discovery of lost skills)?

Wool can be obtained by drops from certain mobs like sheep. With the hunting skill you get more of these drops, while with the Farming skill you can shear them repeatedly. If you even buy a house on higher floors, you can expand it and have your own fields with either crops or animals with it, which can be combined with the farming skill to sheer them.

I just thought of something: Didn't include fishing with the gathering skills. After some thinking, I decided that the Fishing skill is a free skill for everyone, which means it's an extra passive skill that you get without having to sacrafice another :D. However, the drops you get from the fish can be doubled by the hunting skill.

The way I see it is that you can only really specialize in one like in real life. You'd never see a miner be a proficient blacksmith would you?

It would also encourage people to interact with people who are proficient in the skills required. And also, money making opportunities! Yay capitalism!

I like your thinking, except for one thing: Take your capitalism and go back to America. Joking, ofcourse. Anyway, I might add the 1 profesion rule.

Yeah...capitalism isn't really my thing.

And unless the skills have levels, we just GET skills. Instantly master it. And each level we get a new one, so...

No, it's not like that, it's like you unlock a skill in the skill tree, then you level it up by using it a lot. Not going to use specific stats though, as I don't like that.

Sooo how is post order going to work? I've never actually Forum RPed before.

No specific post order, just try and wait about 2 posts before you post a new post.

On that note, how will combat work? I have drafted a combat post, but I am hesitant to post it yet.

Normal fights against minions you can just do as much as you want, just make it a bit realistic. Mini Bosses are the same, but remember that they are mini bosses for a reason. Floor bosses I will control. Also remember, it's no shame to die. It's an MMO after all. RPvNPC (Roleplayer versus Non-Playing Character), which is basicly PvP against neither of us, equels a mini boss, but RPvRP (Roleplayer versus Roleplayer), which is PvP againts one or multiple of us, will be a collab post.

For anyone who doesn't know what a collab post is, it's basicly one person who posts something two or more people wrote. This means that it will still be a long post, but you don't have to wait for the other one to respond all the time. Ways to make this could be things like Google docs or (my personal favourite) Titanpad.

Man that was a long post. Hopefully I answered all your questions.

I also forgot to mention that you can't learn spells easily: You start with a beginner spell that comes with the magic you choose, and get new spells from tomes which you can get from quests, certain shops and rare monster drops. Also remember that you can get drops from monsters that you don't need for your class, which means you got to either sell or trade it.

On that note, I assume it'd be (more) difficult to find tomes that teach you how to imbue weapons with elemental magic?

EDIT: Also you may need to make a spell list to detail what kind of spells people actually start with.

Good point about the spell list, but to get extra effects on a weapon, you need to get an advanced forgery skill. To get an elemental weapon, you need to have an even higher forgery skill, and I'm thinking about the rule that you can only make elemental forgeries with the magic you choose as your starting magic.

What I meant by imbue, was an 'during battle' imbue the weapon with an elemental magic as an attack or buff

You mean like elemental sword skills? I'm not gonna add those, but you can use elemental weapons later on.

Like you have it now it is good. Congratulations, you are accepted! Go ahead and write your first IC :D

P.S. What I also forgot to mention but thought you guys would know if you knew about the magic in Alfheim, is that you actually speak in a weird language to cast spells. The harder the spell, the more words. For now, let's use dragon language, or Dovahzul, as a way to cast spells (because skyrim rules).

Alright, I'll keep that in mind for next time I use magic (Which will most likely be in the next fight post :P)

EDIT: I assume that this game is pretty much just ALFheim set in Aincrad now? Minus the flying.

@NightmareIndI don't quite remember how magic worked in Alfheim, it's been quite a while since I seen it, though I know or at least think I know how it works. Also what kind of spells fall under arcane anyway?

In ALFheim, players had to say parts or words from a language to complete the full spell name before casting it. So for example, 'Yol' means Fire. So that can be used for a basic fire spell. Adding things to fire like 'ball' (so fireball) is 'Yol-gram', thus casting a fireball spell.

Arcane is forming matter out of energy, like energy balls or spears. About how the magic works, it's something like this:

I'd imagine that characters can use this whilst moving. Just to add some extra 'flare' and fluidity/pace to fights. Longer spells would require the user to stand still though.
