I'm actually working a system on that. But basically everyone depending on your class has a baseline stats divided into six categories: Health, Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Magical Attack, Magical Defense, and Agility. Depending on your class depends on how the stat spread is, but for the most part all, say, Warriors have the same baseline stats. However the Feats and Abilities granted by your characters alters and edits these stats accordingly. I'm still hammering out those details amongst other details, but I'm going to have Windel present it once it's all done.

The reason a level 1 could stand toe-to-toe to a level 9 is because unless most of their abilities have been made to increase stats instead of granting them more attack options, statistically they're identical. While a level 9 will have much more in their arsenal, a level 1 warrior and a level 9 warrior are nearly identical statistically, aside from Feat Buffs. And even then that's where simple combat skill comes into play.

Ohh okay.

How much can equipment effect this?

Sorry if i'm being a bother, I am just curious.

It does depend on your level. If you're level three and you kill another level three, you get their level times ten, so 30 exp.

Ah, ok.

Depends on the equipment. Light Leather armor for example isn't really going to increase your physical defense much, where has Heavy Full Plate will, but at the expanse of lowering your agility. Weapons themselves have level limits, do only a certain average amount of damage, and don't really add to your stats so much as scale off of them. A dagger for example would only do a measly 1d4 (That is to say, you could do anywhere between 1 to 4 damage a hit, out of the usual 100 that most players have) but their DPS scales with agility, meaning that having a higher then average agility would allow you to string together more dagger attacks. 4d4 can do a bit more damage then a 2d8, at the minimum. And that's not even including unique boss weapons which may indeed increase your stats or give you access to special attacks.

It scales off your agility.

She glanced over at Newt, motioning for the new Ebony Stryker to spring into action if these two refused. After all, she fought for the Black Guild now not the Harleys. It was an opportunity for Moon Rider to see her in action and for Newt to prove herself.

Eyyyyy, let's do dissssss

Oh yeah, Lucius, does the term ‘resistance-ignoring damage’ mean that even if you block/deflect an attack, it’s still going to do damage? Or that after you get hit, the damage isn’t reduced by magical defense?

And for those curious as to why not just use daggers then to string together dat dps: DR. DR typically goes around low double digits, with 20 being pretty damn high. Each point of DR subtracts from the damage from each die, and if the DR is at least twice the amount of maximum damage an attack can do, it doesn't even do scratch damage (I.e. if your DR is 8, you won't feel a 1d4 at all, even if it comes in the form of 10d4) This is where berserkers and other nukers come into play, since they have the raw damage to bypass most of the DR, though a good tank will have something to help deal with that as well. And for rogues who now feel they've been gimped, fret not, there is still a way to do harm. As I've mentioned before, there are some logical weaknesses you can exploit; stabbing them in the unarmored bits for example (Though this can be hard to determine for those who chose skimpy aesthetic armor) otherwise known as crits. Critz ignore DR, and you're have a better chance to crit if you can attack 10 times over two times. Assassin rogues also gain the benefit of being able to do their entire attack average into one blow I.e. 10d4 will be calculated into one attack instead of ten separate weak ones.

That's the mechanics anyways, the practice can be very different. There are also other factors that can change the way these things work, such as stabbing someone through the hand to lessen their dexterity (And thus agility). Or using momentum to put even more omph behind your hits, making speedy types capable of doing damage so long as they are speed. I'm making a guidelines, but we can still play it fast and loose.

The first part. That is what we call "True Damage". Think of it like this: If it TOUCHES you, you get hurt. So you have to dodge it.

Finally got my first IC post up. Sorry for the short post, didn't have much inspiration today. Also, I kept much stuff open ended, so there is more possibility for an interaction, as being the only person of us in the Blue Guild doesn't really help.

@Ashifili It would make sense for her father. After all, their family is pretty well off. As far as Her having money, I figured one could load actual money into the game for use like some MMORPGs. If I assumed wrong it can be fixed.

EXP – In game Currency used for just about everything, from buying starter equipment to leveling up to purchasing Land Claims. EXP can be earned from slaying Dissolutions or players, but it can also be obtained by breaking down items in your inventory or just found anywhere within Deep Ground. Exp takes the form of floating colored crystalloids. There’s no real meaning behind the colors.

From the OP.

All things considered, it's still a government-monitored education program or whatever. Guessing that being able to pay for EXP using RL money would be similar to bribing professors to look the other way while doing your final exams. So gotta go backdoor~
