Natsuki stared at figure of her childhood friend.
"You.. You can't be.."
"Here? Real?" Tsubaki laughed. "Alive?"
Natsuki gave a small choked gasp at that. Calm down.. Calm down. I can run faster than her now, she thought to herself. She barely comes up to my knee. If I can just get away from here, it might dis-
"Ah! You were thinking of something mean just now, didn't you?" Somehow Tsubaki had moved right in front of her, yellow eyes staring straight into hers. Natsuki froze as Tsubaki's hands caressed her cheeks. "Don't you remember your promise?"
Wait, how did Tsubaki get so big? Slapping away the hand, Natsuki jumped backwards, landing on some dry leaves. Tsubaki looked on in amusement as she examined herself. Its not that Tsubaki grew bigger, she herself had gotten smaller, or to be more precise, somehow reverted to being a child. She was even wearing her usual oversized shirt, short pants and baseball cap.
"AHAHAHA~ Did you just realize?" The dry autumn leaves swirled around Tsubaki as she opened her arms wide in front of the shrine. The others were gone, and no more was the warped street of the imitation town, just the autumn forest and the shrine she knew so well.
"Welcome back, Nacchan~"
Dark shadows formed around her, causing her to spasm uncontrollably. The spasms stopped abruptly as a stylized old crow masque appeared on her face, whereupon she calmed down considerably, crounching down as she held the stick in both hands, the business end pointing to the ground. The eyes of the masque glowed a fierce purple, as she seemed to ponder her options. Unlike the others so far, she was silent, betraying no hint of emotion or thought.
As soon as possessed Saito moved however, she moved with speed at his back, obscuring her actions from those who were still sane. At the moment possessed Saito started his attack, she dashed out from the side, swinging the stick horizontally towards Yamada's side.
