We got derailed from our writing. We've been composing scores of texts in this month. Hundreds, even. So we'll really have our work cut out to go through them to select a fitting one to submit.

just to verify @mdk, what midnight is the final submission hour? UTC? Some American time? NZ time? Lunar time?

It's the softest of all 'midnights.' In the morning we'll be pulling all the entries together and posting the vote thread, and if your entry is in the box when we start, your entry counts. So if you turn it in by midnight local time, whatever your local time is, you're absolutely safe; if you're a *little* late, you're probably still safe; if you're way past your midnight but the thread hasn't actually popped up yet, you might still be okay!

Well I was actually going to enter the contest, but my subject matter makes it impossible to do it all justice by midnight (I'm about a third of the way there by now). So I won't be entering. I will keep working on my story though, probably send it to some magazines. If nobody accepts it (which will probably be the case) expect it in the Gallery.

Every day before today - "I'm a bit too busy, eh, I guess I'll skip it this time."

Today - "Oh, what the heck, let's do this, I've got an idea. ... Why do I have so little time? ... And why do I already have a working x-thousand word story within three hours that I'm proud of?"

One way or another, I'm sending this in tonight. Hahaha.

Edit: Gosh, I could have picked a better title. Like, actually think of one before the text is done... XD
