That's part of the charm of being the grunt in a military squad, probably doubly so in something as elite as Imperial Stormtroopers; everyone gives you shit you until you prove to not be horribly incompetent.

The hard part is when you join a squad with an "I could totally use this helmet to pick up chicks." attitude. Surely the FNGness will be torn from Rian's soul until he's either a cynical nihlist or the squad admits his cavalier attitude can't be dissuaded by the horrors of war! Probably the former.

Looks like the 121st is an extremely atypical battalion--our squad looks to be shaping up to include a Fett clone and two (2!) women.

Also, am I to assume we're all "Alright but nothing to write home about", otherwise higher-ups would've cherry picked the vet/squad leader/etc for more prestigious/critical/personal posts. Cause that's sort of what I was hoping to hear--the more experienced members of the team knowing when something dangerous should be pawned off up the line instead of playing hero and the like.

Appearance:

Name: Rayne, Myrinda
Identification/Serial Number: SO-8746924
Rank: Specialist
Role: Demolitions/Communications
Age:24
Gender: Female
Nickname: Pips

Psychological Analysis:

Myrinda is an outgoing woman with an acerbic wit and a sardonic attitude. She enjoys the military life and the comradery which she finds in her units. Most especially she enjoys working with competent and professional people who are as good at their job as she is at hers. A veteran of several tours, Myrinda is often a little reserved with newcomers, but this frequently passes quickly as they demonstrate they have what it takes.

Myrinda has the artists ability to focus on a goal to the exclusion of all else, as a result she can be very intense. As a woman in the Imperial army she pushes herself twice as hard to demonstrate she is as tough as the men and can be a little sensitive about her gender. She is also famous for her transient interests, she becomes obsessed with something one week only to forget it the next in favor of some new fascination.

Myrinda’s critics point out that she seems to enjoy danger a little too much and the label adrenaline junkie has been bandied around. Her counter argument would be that she simply thrives in dangerous situations.

Military Record:

Myrinda comes from an old Alderanian military family. Although she grew to adulthood during the pacifist period, her father and grandfather would sometimes tell her stories of the battles they had fought and the worlds they had visited. Inspired and excited by these stories Myrinda enlisted in the Imperial Military at age 18.

Although her aptitude scores justified officer training, Myrinda, a woman and a ‘pacifist from a dissenting world’, was instead shuffled off to the infantry. Despite the brutal discipline and the punishing physical regime Myrinda loved infantry school. Here at last was an opportunity to prove what she could do. She pushed herself to excel in every field she could, from combat medicine to communications, studying long hours and eschewing the small social life available to Imperial recruits. Somewhat unwelcome in the regular infantry she was instead sent to specialist training. The trainers in the specialist schools were more interested in results than gender and Myrinda showed a flair for demolitions and communications both of which were in high demand due to the mortality rates in those professions.

After graduating second in her class she was assigned to a string of counter insurgency operations along the fringe of the Empire. Here she operated both with her unit and on detached service with Imperial Intelligence. She earned her reputation as a clever and resourceful trooper who was steady under fire.

Attrition during counter-insurgency was constant and after nearly two years of service Myrinda’s unit was depleted beyond its combat effective strength. Rather than being reinforced at the end of the campaign, it was instead broken up to provide specialist personnel for other units.

Well like most situations within the Empire it'll be a radio call to command and then if Command give them re-enforcement/switch them out that'll be commands call. If you wanna play the Hero though go ahead ;) Triple-Nine won't stop you :P

Edited for gear. Also I didn't realize we already had a sniper are we ok with that? I can edit to be a medic or a demolitions expert if it would be better.

@Heat Have some friendly/unsolicited/potentially unwanted constructive criticism! Just felt like "Cold-Eyes" was the sort of nickname that wouldn't get floated around allot (Most people would think Vermill was 'one of those guys', the ones that make up their own nicknames and try to pass it off as "They call me starlord") Pretty much anything cool, sexy or dangerous gets saved for individuals that may or may not exist in special ops units (I heard there's this guy...) or for particularly dangerous enemies (There's been allot of talk about Badguytoughname lately...)

It's safe to say that you're gonna get saddled with a different impromptu one by your squaddies during the RP (I for one will keep throwing them at the wall till one sticks.) Since it doesn't seem to capture that irreverent, somewhat mocking but generally endearing quality that makes a lasting impression.

@Austronaut - It would probably be better if the two characters butted heads over who was the better/more deserving designated markswoman at the start.

Yeah, I was gonna say something about that. It'd be a little odd to have two female snipers.

It's downright abnormal that we have three gals in the squad at all. 121st will probably end up being called the girls battalion or something similar for the disparity.

@vietmyke Stormtroopers are like police AND military right? With the Empire basically being a military-police complex. Does that mean we get shuffled around as the brass dictates? Like a resource, as likely to be assigned to combat as peacekeeping? I ask because I think it would just be great to get called into a domestic dispute where the squad has difficulty distinguishing the wife from the husband from the pet--in the case of aliens.

Well if we gonna go with realistic women make better snipers and one is a marksmen as apposed to a full fledged sniper so spotter maybe? Though it is beyond odd to have so many women in the squad in pre dead emperor empire. Then again creative license is already being taken. (mainly that the snipers are even in a squad/most people using "off brand" weapons) So it's honestly up to myke if he wants to allow it or not.

Actually I kind of like the idea that I am Jaya's spotter. Maybe we are part of one of the few female classes that went through. Two women who were trained together is less anomalous than two trained separately. What do you think @Heat

Honestly, having a sniper team would prevent a single sniper from being isolated from the team. This way you both have someone to interact with while in the field.
