I look forward to RPing my 1920s-esque flapper who doesn't QUITE understand how humanity works but thinks they're just ADORABLE. Shit is going to be a laugh. It should balance the more HFY, serious [though optimistic] tone of Geoffrey.

I wont remember mentioning any anger in her personality, she just REALLY likes fighting, couldn't ignore a Oni's nature. Otherwise she is a rather happy flirty being.

Hi, guys!

I'm just posting to let you know that I didn't disappear. I just got dragged in the dark void known as work, for most of this week. Anyway, I've been stealthily ding improvements to the thread, starting with the Characters tab. I believe that everything will be ready for us to begin on Sunday, at most.

PS:

I've been reading the discussion, and got say that you guys have no creativity if you can't think of a way to not kill other players, when fighting them. If I allowed people to kill other PCs without consent, all that would be needed to ruin the RP was a mean spirited player with long range attacks and a high building from where he could snipe at pretty much anyone with utter impunity. I really don't believe it would be fun, or fair, to someone who was away for a day or two to come back and find that his character died because someone got too trigger happy.

I saw this and that made me remember about that discussion I saw, it completely slipped my mind xD. However, I wholeheartedly agree with the above statement from KoL on the subject matter.

I'm with KoL, and I absolutely think that no-one should be able to kill other players without consent and story purpose. However, there are issues with that, that's all I'm trying to point out.

So, just to confirm...Generally, the only people who will be dying are going to be enemies, right? It's less like Dark Souls or Etrian Odyssey and more like...some other, more merciful RPG?

I am ready for Geoffrey or Susan to die to further the story. I assume different players will be more or less willing to sacrifice their avatars for the greater narrative, and those who are more willing will be more likely to die. I think it is a fine system, or at least the best we can get.

Well in the last RP a character ended up dying unintentionally. It wasn't...really satisfying, both from a story and player perspective. So yes, we intend to avoid character deaths as much as we can if we don't need to.
