James walked home from his job, his paycheck having been delivered to his account. It seemed strange to him now, looking back. Just a week ago the string of numbers had held such meaning, such joy. Payday had been a day for celebration, when he was able to afford a little extra luxury, a little extra fun. But now such things had lost all meaning. He himself hadn't eaten since the day of his Initiation, and Lily was in no state to appreciate any form of luxury. She was barely aware of the things she ate, chewing and swallowing out of reflex rather than any real need or intent. Her soul remained imprisoned in that place, the place where his new master dwelled. Now the numbers were just numbers, nothing more and nothing less. Meaningless data flickering across an old-fashioned LED screen. The only reason he even bothered to work was because appearances had to be kept up, he had to look like he was still a turning gear in the cog of the machine.

But in the shadows of the night, when the previous him had been forced into a deep sleep, he now awakened to his true reality. The hunt, the chase after the mysterious King of the underworld. Killing petty criminals, torturing them for answers. He had their greatest fears at his fingertips, and they happily told him anything he wanted to hear. But it wasn't enough. Nobody knew anything definitive, any way to get close to him. And everyone knew that he had powerful friends willing to step in on his behalf. This would mean nothing if he got Lily killed with his investigation, if some enterprising mobster shot her while he was out on his hunts.

No, he would be a shadow, stalking it's prey. He would find where Rick's weak spots lay, what fears kept him awake at night. And he would force him to live his greatest nightmare for the rest of his pathetic existence.

Marcus stares at everyone before him before shaking his head. "No way. I'm not getting into any fights for the likes of you people. You think you can just summon me up out of nowhere and ask me to fight for you?! Hell no!" His headache, enhanced by his natural irritation with the situation, made up his mind for him. He was in no mood to fight, especially for someone who he doesn't even know. Seeing the portal, he moved to leave, heat flaring up to deter them from touching him, burning mortal flesh and scorching the ground under him. He thought to the fact that leaving them here might be him deserting them to death, but then he remembered that he had rather rudely been summoned and no longer cared, really.

"it is a being of rage created with the explicit purpose of hunting us down. Would you think you could talk the cricket out of jumping or the eagle out of taking wing?" markus retorts evenly, adding the last bits with a playful chuckle as he stands on the very edge of the railing, it being a miracle as to how the knocking and swaying doesn't knock him off as he peers into the distance, adding with a light laugh "and besides, the wind'll clip your wings before you get within shouting distance"

Momiji hastily turned to face the new arrival, appearing from nothing. Surprising, to say the least. It seemed that Reiji's gift, at the very least, had equivalents to it among the countless worlds that could exist.

"...Tsubasa. It's called Tsubasa." She murmured in reply coldly. The Grimoire hummed slightly in preparation as Momiji's eyes scanned over the boy, evaluating him.

Eclipse stood straight and met his gaze with that of the raging winds. "Hmm." He looked strong, sincere, and confident. Through his divine vision, he saw what mortals could not. He could easily see deeper levels of meaning, transcending materiality and even time. "Take heart, my friend, for what is anger but an urgent plea for justice?" The angel-god began to shimmer, sets of large, magnifacent wings appearing behind it in a ghostlike form, moving him, yet somehow untouched by the violent winds. Eclipse looked upon the summoned destroyer with sympathy and understanding. "I am familiar with this beast and what fuels it. Its need shall be satisfied."

In a brief, but muted flash, he blinked off the deck and a small spec of light appeared much farther out travelling into the thick dark clouds.

Appearing close to the face of the magical storm, Eclipse held open his hands. His mere proimity sapped the fury of the magical entity. Winds slowed as they came close to him, and a soft, sunlike light made the clouds appear smaller and less threatening. He felt the rage of the creature, its intense desire to get its vengeance, to right a wrong, and he listened to it. The thundering heart pulsed with the life of its will. It was suffering from the pain of its desire. It hated its targets. Eclipse reached out in an attempt to ease its pain, to extend its patience, and reassure it that justice would triumph. "No storm rages forever." He added fatalisticly.

Eclipse hoped that the wind elemental would appeal to him, as a paragon, as kindred, and from there he could connect with it and turn it around with compassion and reasoning. Chances are it couldn't speak, but even nature gods heeded the most base wisdom. If it were controlled against its will, he would try to free it. Depending on how loyal it was, or how reasonable, he could possibly undo its course.

Just as before, Eclipse's aura returned to affect Mithias. While not dropping him to the wood, it made him weak and light headed. The vampire lurched to the side with the rock of the boat and lost part of his grip. "Damn... fairies..." He managed to grab a rope that was tied to something sturdy and regain his security, but he realized that he needed to get himself down below deck with the others. Come hell or high water, he still didn't want to die in this dream.

Mithias waited for a favorable tilt, then released the mast and rope and dashed over toward the door. The tiny spirits grabbed onto his collar and pants for the ride, while others merely watched him from their place in the air or wood or water.

Water...??

Just then, a very unexpected wave crashed into the side of the ship, jolting it such that Mithias slipped on the wet wood and was slammed with a huge splash of ocean that had literally jumped out of the sea just to faceplant him. He desperately tried to grab onto anything on the way, but the water on deck was suddenly a mini lake, and it sloshed over the side with him, throwing him overboard like a piece of seaweed.

Mithias was gone.

The creature moves through the Chaos Realm, it's mere presence twisting the world around it. It channelled the power of nightmares, emanating an aura of fear. Waves of paralysing terror pulsed off of it, twisting the landscape even as the being moved through it. Waves of fire, skies of candy floss and armies of flying monkeys are turned into a cartoon world of grey interiors and twisted, empty trees. A white sky, with no sun in sight. The very world was morphed by the presence of this being, until the line of it's influence hit a barrier that refused to give. The world of white and black ceased expanding instantly, as it was struck with Mortis' own influence. Although it would take all of Mortis' self control to prevent himself from turning his half into a sea of flames, or a maelstrom of blades, as rage would usually turn the Chaos Realm into it's most destructive forms.

The creature grinned at those present, it's mouth extending beyond what could possibly be contained in his face. He raised his right hand, the oversized gun seeming to lift without a problem. Had it merely been a man, or merely been a gun, it would not have been a threat. But Mortis knew very well that these beings were magical constructs formed from Fear, miniature Chaos Gods maintained by Lucy, fed by a particular source of Fear. The barrel glowed brightly, as a beam of light shoots out from the tip. A blade of blacklight cuts through the scene, destroying all in it's path as the spectre seemed to bend towards Mortis, nearly chasing him.

Eclipse shot out into the storm, traveling over waves and through thunderclouds. As he got closer to the beast the winds increased, gale forces slamming into him from the side as if nature were attempting to swat him out of the air. Lightning arched through the clouds next to and around him, never quite striking him. After about a minute of high-speed flight he reached the source of the storms, a massive being of rage and wind. It was like a man made of cyclones, a massive titan formed from water and ship debris, sucked into the heavens only be be rained down again. It's face was nothing more than a pair of glowing red eyes, glaring at the angel from the centre of the cyclone. He could feel it's power in the winds, as he felt the winds try and drag him into the waterspouts.

He could feel it's mind, a basic and primitive mind, clouded with hatred and fury. It was barely more than an animal, raging simply for the sake of raging. Destroying simply for the sake of destruction. But in particular, it hated the buzzing light that so suppressed it, he hated the calm that Eclipse attempted to produce. It was anathema to this being, who's very essence lay with rage. It weakened it somehow, slowed it's winds, dulled it's mind. The raging demon of the sky was rage incarnate, and should it's rage abate, there would be nothing left but clear skies.

Throwing the full force of it's fury against Eclipse's attempts to calm it, the creature roared. A massive pair of arms extended from it's main body, tornadoes forming fists the size of small houses. With with these it shot forward, attempting to drag Eclipse into it's body, to drown his light in the rushing current of it's own form. And Eclipse knew that if this being were to defeat him, it would continue to annihilate the boat and all those on it. It's mere presence would capsize the boat with massive waves and hurricane-force winds, and those unlucky enough to require air would drown in the middle of the ocean.

As Mithias strikes the water, he can feel the waves striking him with immense force. Storm currents pulled at his lower body, dragging him under the water. The water rushed as if he were in the rapids, throwing his body around like a ragdol. With no physical objects to hold onto within arm's reach, there was no resisting the forces of nature as they chose to throw him about. Had he been a mortal being, he would most likely have drowned in the waves. However as it was he was simply dragged under, flung into the seas even as the ship began to move on without him.

Suddenly, he felt a powerful humming. It was like a vibration in the water, a sound that couldn't be heard as much as it could be felt. It rattled his bones and shook the very oceans. However, somehow, Mithias felt like it was speaking to him. He could feel it, an invitation being opened up to him. A trail of tiny water spirits lead the way deeper into the ocean, a weak current tugging at his body.

Now he stood before a choice. He could either chase the boat, and attempt to board it. Or he could venture deeper into the water, and hope that the invitation hadn't been a dinner arrangement.

@Dawn"Great, thanks for the help. And the names Lucas by the way." Lucas turns and walks west hoping he'll run into a town or village along the way.

(not for dawn)
Albert after hearing what Blarg had to say translates for everyone who had listened to the dwarfs instruction," My companion has seen something big in the water and that something is coming this way." Blarg who had left the cabin saw Mithias get thrown overboard and decided to follow him, seeing has he could live in the water indefinitely without air.

Mithias watched in horror as the boat left his reach. His mind screamed in denial as his fear became realized. The water had total control of him, and there was no way to deal with it. Water sloshed over him relentlessly. Nothing less could be expected of the sea, for its waves had been rolling rhythmically since the planet's formation. Such eternal nature would never cease.

The boat was getting farther and farther from him, and struggle as much as he did, he still got pulled under. Each time he fought to break the surface, his only reward was a mocking glimpse of a vanishing ship. Darkness easily closed in, and the vampire had to accept the welcoming stillness of the depths.

Everything became black, and only the sound of crashing waves could be heard above, giving hope to his sense of direction. Water filled his mouth, cold penetrated his bones, but Mithias didn't die.

Sorrow struck him. Loss, lonliness, and a fear that some abyssmal creature would swallow him whole came to mind. The only comfort he could find was in a memory, that some familliar arms would find him sinking alone under the water and wrap themselves around him. The depths were his lovers home, a lover who would never let him drown alone, a lover he would never see again.

No such savior was coming. Mithias closed his eyes. So wrapped up in emotion had he been that he didn't even realize the humming vibration that was growing in intensity around him, but then it terrified him. He began to prepare himself mentally for a likely death, until he realized it was speaking. Searching, he opened his eyes, and this time saw the water spirits. He could feel the pressure of the water on his body, he was getting deep. God only knew where the bottom was, and what might have been waiting down there. He looked at the spirits imploringly, yet hopeless that they could understand his plight.

"Please don't take me down." He thought, but he knew no being in the universe could read his mind. It was his gift, and his handicap. His only wish was to return home. Reluctantly, he went with the spirits, their world no more foreign to him than the rest of this odd world.

So, the raging winds were ire itself, a demon, a deity of its own. The only end to it was complete negation, to dispell the anger into oblivion, leaving nothing behind. Eclipse had no problems with this, since anger, hatred, and demons were naturally in opposition to him. It was his mission, the essence of his existance, to bring justice, peace, and serenity into the world and to sustain it. The question was a matter of power. Whichever of them was more powerful would win this contest of wills.

Bracing himself, Eclipse put his hands together and formed a deflective shield against the force and debri the wind creature whirled at him. The arms closed in and crashed over him, pulling him deeper inside the heart of the tornado. A random shark flew by, jaws open and confused. Eclipse used his power and wings to resist getting sucked in, but bits of debri were making it past his shield, hitting him and cutting him.

"I can't let you pass." He struggled. He realized that his innocent friends would be destroyed if he didn't stop this demon. "Tell me your rage. Confess to me your hate..." He kept his aura up, combating the negative and irrational embodied emotion. "Abate yourself and find rest. Your purpose is finished. Your desire is reached. Welcome peace, and fall like rain." Bashed and torn by the furious winds and needle-like rain, Eclipse used all his strength to endure. Every wind that whipped him, every hit he took was one less that the wind demon was willing to ever dish out again. It would spend itself into mothing, eventually, if Eclipse lasted that long.

Lina had been within Tor-6 for a while now, but it was still slightly confusing. The advancements in technology were surprising, but it sounded a lot like the world where Dark Star Dugradigdu came from. She wasn't very sure of that, as the name "Tor-6" even if an abbreviation was out of place. Really, the most confusing part was how she got here. There weren't any signs of the Ma-ō around here, for even The Lord of Nightmares. She had tried talking to the locals about them. . . but that didn't turn out very well.

After some research, Lina learned that this place was in a Civil War. The ruling faction owns this area with an iron fist, and has a strict set of laws. Military Officers seem to above the law, which is dangerous for obvious reasons. Its ran by a man called "The One". It was different than back home, but a corrupt leader is nothing new. Of course, with all this new technology, Lina would need to study it more before having a good grip on the Empire's true power in comparison to her.

The opposing faction is ran by clones that broke free. The idea of a clone breaking free reminded Lina of a clone of a certain Red Priest, but it still left her with the same conclusion. Only an idiot could let their clones run free.

Lastly, she heard rumors of a criminal underground that was backing the clones. Its funny, even in a place with this kind of technology, Bandits always seem to exist.

None of these factions seemed appealing, so she would just spend the rest of her time learning what she could. She did manage to figure out that demons that leave her realm, seem to into aircraft? She tried to summon a few lesser demons, but instead of getting them, she got an aircraft. She read that Dark Star Dugradigdu had a different form in his original world, but could it have really been a giant spaceship?

Blarg and Mithias find themselves in a downward current, an illogical flow of water that pulled them ever deeper. Blarg could of course have left whenever he wished to, but he had come to follow Mithias after all. And the vampire was being dragged down ahead, sinking towards the depths of the ocean. Blarg could further feel something strange in the ocean, as if some kind of magical force had seeped into the water. It feels strangely sinister to the Murloc.

As the two are dragged ever deeper, they come to what appears to be a massive sword. A katana almost twenty times the length of a man, stabbed into the ground. The blade is stained red with blood, and the water around it rages. Hundreds of strange fish-like beings hammer at the blade, attempting to move it. And yet it remains like iron.

A voice like an earthquake speaks from the depths, seeming to shake the world itself with it's sound. As if an Earthquake had learned to speak the tongues of man, as if these words were torn from the World even as it were falling to pieces. It was a sound equal parts beautiful and terrible. "Oh kindly traveler, would you not move the blade that holds me? I have been maimed, and impaled, yet not slain. For a hundred years have I lain here, waiting for one who might free me." Mithias notices the sand stirring, shifting and moving as if it were another ocean beneath the ocean. And he realizes that the being who spoke was trapped beneath the sands, impaled by the massive blade that now stuck out from the ground. "Should you be so valorous as to free me, I would gladly devour any Gods that troubled you. For it is the God of Storms who trapped me here. Even he was unable to slay me, and so I lie here, until one such as you might free me."

The massive fists struck him, and Eclipse was surrounded by rushing currents. Fish and rocks rushed past him, crushing themselves on his shield even as the force of the typhoon nearly flung him into the clouds. The water passed, and he was struck by lightning, the blazing bolt of light and heat parting over his shield. A gale slammed into him, attempting to force him into the water, to drown him in the ocean. Again and again was he struck, the forces of nature tearing at his arcane defences as he faced off the demon. The storm seemed never to end, never to abate. And yet the angel endured, divine light fighting the darkness, tranquility forcing it's way into this reality. It was a test of endurance like no other, a battle of attrition between two beings of great power. One of the two would break, eventually. The question was merely what would give first.

After what seemed like an eternity of battle, slowly, the storm began to abate. The beast's roars rippled across the water, as the ocean came down once more in the form of rain. It's body of wind and water began to dissipate, it's rage quieted. The sky became bright once more as the clouds parted, the unnatural winds slowing once more to their usual speed. Eclipse found himself victorious, if incredibly wet, no longer having enough power to fend off the waves of water that now washed over him. A confused eel shot past him, and he realized he should probably return. Whilst he had outdone the demon, it had been only because of the slight difference in magical reservoirs, and his strength had been spent.

Lucas finds himself in a grassy plain, with a small town in the distance. The houses are small and wooden, and a few hastily constructed towers can be seen peaking over the roofs. There are several roads leading to and from the village, but none of them are anywhere near Lucas' current position. To the north he can see what appears to be a forest, large and dense. Far to the west a range of mountains can be seen, their tips sticking out over the horizon.

Eclipse was kept from unconciousness by an amused monkey man's applause, the cheeky bugger having been watching from a nearby cloud as the two demi gods had their little pissing match over anger and serenity. "c'mon you, you're not spent already are you?" Markus asks with a chuckle, his smile growing a bit wider when the only response he gets is a small grunt, the marker flying into his hands before eclipse can finish the thought.

@supertinyking
A few minutes later, Eclipse arrives back on the ship, if a bit more wet and with a face full of ink depicting a chicken fighting a typhoon, and was laid down to rest on the deck in a pile of rope which wasn't the most comfortable thing, but was at least something more than the deck. "Alright little man, we need to get going. winds aren't an issue so just sail away from this fucked place before my bitchslap is fully charged and unleashed upon the nearest person to me" The cheeky monkey man calls out to the dwarvish captain, wind forming around his hands before he extends them, palms out, at the sails, causing the ship to motor along at fairly break-neck speeds

One such as Lina would eventually garner attention. As she was spying on those there, the dominion eventually sent a welcoming committee to her. In that time, which would be a short while, a good week or two, she could get a grip of on the tech of the universe by visiting some more wealthy planets. Cloning was cheap, and inexpensive, laser technology was common place, able to punch holes in thick plate steel, but some materials simply reflected the shots, leaving some conventional firearms still in use by some. Their medical technology is advanced enough for both cybernetic enhancements, and total limb reconstructions, organ cloning, chemical therapy, and other such procedures could extend a human life to nearly 250 years.
However, her learning expedition comes to an end, as eventually a group of men, covered head to toe in black armor with a fist emblem on their chest approach Lina, weapons at the ready, save for their commander, a man simply in jeans, combat boots, a leather coat, zipped, and a beret.
"...My name is Colonel David Sigmen. I am here to take you in for questioning...come easily, and it'll all be a nice experience. Resist...well, there may be a few accidents along the way after we subdue you." The Colonel says, with a bit of a grin. His men stand ready, laz-rifles only a moment from being pulled up to their shoulders, and fired.

"Ey, if that's the case, go bitch-slap the vampire and the frog..fish, man thing out of the water an back up 'ere will ya?" King asks the monkey man, King being drenched as he had locked himself in place on his ship, weathering waves, and the harsh winds. He looked rather silly, as his hat drooped in front of his eyes.
