@Aislingjack followed the mans orders and imagined a red glow arising from the wick of the candle, he tried this for a few minutes but got nothing(I'm not very good at this, am I?)

Mystique watched the demonstration and decided that she needed to practice the spin before she even did anything else. She knew that she had to spin the wand just right or the wind might go rogue which meant a lot of mess to clean up. She finally got the spin down pretty much so she tried to put her magic to work and pulled a piece of wind towards her. She slowly made it move from side to side until suddenly it died.....

Lady Violetta allowed her students practice in their own way for each of them did things slightly differently. After a while she clapped her hands sharply which made all of the breezes die.
"That is your task for the week. Of course I will be here but you will keep working on making a small devil and so forth until you have made a tornado and can hold the tornado for at least an hour. This will take time.

Now we shall start Secondary Elements. The first one is Cold. We will learn how to pull the cold out of and towards your target as well as forming snow and hail. This will take more imagination than what one would think and a lot of belief in your own ability. I shall show you the technique." She spoke as she returned to the front of the room.

The room became cold and Lady Violetta raised her wand in the upright position and slowly moved the wand towards her body. One could see a blueish mist move towards her. She then circled her wand in front of her and the cold swirled into flakes in front of her. She then flunged her arm towards the girls and snowflakes flew over them and gently fell on their heads.

Next Lady Violetta gathered more cold air towards her and filled an area in front of her with more and more cold air.

"When you make hail you must pack the air in a small space like a box and keep packing it until you can not pack any more into the space. More that you can pack in a space, the larger hail balls you will make..... Once you have as much as you want or can pack into a confined space..." she spoke then raised her wand up into the air and very quickly slashed her hand down on the dark blue square in front of her.
The square broke into small balls which Lady Violetta allowed to drop onto the floor.

"Like the last class you will be practicing this for the week."


"Ok that is enough practicing today. Don't worry about not being able to do the candle today. We will be working on this all week. Leave the kit on your desk.

Please follow me to the roof where we will have Plantology." Thomas spoke.

Once we are up there, Thomas went to the podium and looked at the two students. There were three carts next to him.

"Each of you pick a cart. Each of you will have a greenhouse of your very own. I will read the first chapter of the book which you will find on your cart." he spoke. After Nova and Jack chose their carts, Thomas took the last one. He picked up the book and began reading.

Introduction
I have revised my Original Book, Potions into this newer and more up to date version. Rarely is anything worth redoing over but I did not have the foresight of an older person who sees the whole process. The process should start with the selection of seeds, soil and how to grow your Basic Potions.

Indeed the quality of seeds and soil are very important. Just as important is the amount of sunshine at the right time and the rain at the right time. Loosening the soil and making sure that the garden is weed free are important. Like I have been known to say, first things first.

We will be using these seeds and saplings:
Seeds
1) Black Pekoe Tea
2) Nightshade Vines
3) Peppermint Tea
4) Ice Rose
5) Forget-me-not Vines
6) Dipsy
7) Bleeding Heart Vine
8) Sweet Pink Clover
9) Ginger
10) Gingseng
11) Chamomile
12) Blood Cluster Vines

Saplings
1) Sassafras Tree
2) Sploosh Willow

The saplings will be here tomorrow so all we will be doing today is preparing the soil. We will plant everything this week. I will be working on my plots in my greenhouse.
Nova will have greenhouse 9, Jack will have greenhouse 10 and I have greenhouse 8.
Will either of you be taking the Dracology Courses?" Thomas asked

Elizabeth thought that she had excelled, and she was utterly confident in her abilities. Nevertheless, while she was somewhat skilled in wind, she had trouble with the devil. However, she refused to ask for help, and mustered her way through. Although intellectually gifted and prepared to do all the hard work, Elizabeth still had large weaknesses, and she was in a world still largely foreign to her, but she refused to acknowledge any weakness.

She was secretly relieved when Lady Violetta put down the winds. She was not sure how long she could keep it up. She followed Lady Violetta's demonstration when she summoned hale. Elizabeth thought to herself that she would do the same thing with ease, although the truth of the matter was something different.

Mystique felt the cold in the room as soon as the breeze started. She was cold intolerant because Fire was her primary core element. She teleported her cloak and was very grateful for its warmth. She could now concentrate on working her magic. She was able to make the cold move towards her but not very well. She would have to work very hard at this before she could do it right. Something that she would have to practice every day to be able to do.....

Nova tried to light the candle, she closed her eyes picturing a beautiful flame dancing in the wind. after a couple of minutes with her eyes closed, she opened them to see no flame, dancing. "Man, this is hard. I knew i was bad at fire, but i thought i made some lead" she mumbled to herself, wiping the moist from her forehead. noticing that everyone was putting away their candles and heading towards what seems to be the roof. while the teacher was talking, i looked from the book to the plants that we were to plant. "Dracology Courses? Like Traditional Magic?" asking Thomas.

"Draconic Studies is all about dragons from an egg to adult. I hatched my dragon last year and I have learned much about them. It would be a second degree and will help you to get a job in the future. Another plus is that you can fly high in the sky." Thomas spoke to Nove with a smile.

"No, you must take the class so you know how to take care of, trian and to learn how to saddle the dragon and so many things. Let me call Nightstalker. He is only half grown so he will get quite a bit bigger yet." Thomas spoke then he took out a pan flute and played a melody on it.
A dragon came flying towards Thomas and landed next to him. The dragon was taller than Thomas.

"Nightstalker, good landing my boy. Here is a treat. I have someone who wants to meet you. This is Nova. Jack! Come and see Nightstalker!" he called out.

As these were her middle elements, Elizabeth was not doing to bad, but not as well as she could hope. If she really wanted to stand out as the greatest, she would have to do far better than this. For Elizabeth, it felt like balancing on a pole with one foot in the air.

Ayaka began practicing with cold, which to her looked as if it was merely freezing water and cooling down the air. Water and Air were the two elements that came easiest to her, so she didn't have too much trouble with this. It didn't change the fact that she still needed to practice, however. She just decided she would continue to concentrate on her magic until Lady Violetta said that the class was over, whenever that may be.

"Jack calm down. This is my 1 year old dragon. I am showing Nove why it is important to take Draconic COurses if you want a dragon. After you finish the course you will receive a license to ride a dragon. I will tell you more if you take my Draconic Course. Would you like a dragon to ride?" Thomas spoke sharply to snap Jack out of his shock then spoke calmly.
"If you would to, you may come up and let NightStalker sniff your hand. If he responds to you with a 'you may pet me' then you can pet him."

NightStalker looked at one new student then the other. He gave them a dragonish grin and sat down on his haunches and waited for
one of the students to approach him. Being just a teenager, he was full of mischief.

NightStalker nudged Jack's hand then sniffed it. ~I guess you took a bath today so you can scratch me back.~ he spoke to Jack mentally then turned to Nove.
~You are next little lady~ he directed to Nova.

Lady Violetta clapped her hands and made an announcement.
“All three of you did well as I expected. It is now time for Plantology 2. Let us rest and nibble a bit while I do the introduction to it.” She spoke as she waved her arm and four chairs appeared in a circle. Lady Violetta went and sat down into one.
“This class will be a very serious class. This semester we will be growing a very special tree called Speckled Tree of Essence. This tree is what everything in the castle is made of. It has sentiency that this castle is well known for. It also has the rubberyness needed as well as super strength. You will be given one sapling for your exiting project.
You will also be planting 12 other trees. You need to review and do some deep think about what you wish to be after you leave this Island. Please refer to your PLTs and review the jobs or careers that you may have. You might want to go together as a group or as an individual. That is today’s assignment.” Lady Violetta spoke.
“Are there any questions?”

Elizabeth, as always, had in her mind the goal to be head of her own country. This was in fact a profession possible, as peculiar as that might have seemed. This was the most important of the two primary reasons as for her diligence in her studies and work in the academy, the other being her own pride. Also of note to Elizabeth at the moment was the tree. When, in the not so distant past, she had been told that the castle was sentient, she was filled with bewilderment and awe in equal measure. It was such a marvel for such a phenomenon to exist in the world, even in a magical one.

She had no questions.

Ayaka reviewed the list. Of course, she was still interested in explorer, but there was one that got her curious. Dragon Rider was apparently listed as a career. Perhaps she could work on that too? If she knew how to ride her dragon, she could probably use that to explore as well. Was that even possible to do though? "I do. Would it be possible to learn about 2 of the careers and use them both? Like exploring and dragon riding?" Hopefully, Ayaka will be able to make a decision based on the answer she gets.

"yes, i would like to ride a dragon, as to have one as well" i said to Thomas, looking at his gorgeous dragon. I take a step forward and bowed in front of the dragon, while putting out my hand, to wait for the dragon to make the first move.
