Cunning, resourceful, and just a bit paranoid, she hides behind many masks at once. Trusting of few, suspicious of most, and planning to kill just about everyone.
Sicari Velinian
The Broker

Advance Specializations: Agent
Skillset:
Stealth – Expert – Silent even on a floor made of aluminum foil, Sicari has made a name for herself because of her quite ways.
Infiltration – Expert – Need information gathered with minimal bloodshed? Sicari’s your Turian. A background largely in one of the most notorious gangs on Omega leaves one with connections that can buy you into a political position on the Citadel if need be.
Deceit – Expert – One does not become a known information broker without knowing how to drop just enough false clues to pin the blame on that Elcor you saw in the marketplace on Illium two weeks ago.
Alchemy – Skilled – She can fabricate her own poisons if her work takes a turn for the worse, leading to an agonizing death over the course of an hour. Be careful, she doesn’t have an antidote since each venomous claw in her arms has a unique mix of different, deadly concoctions. Cyanide ranks among her favorites thus far.
Illusion – Basic – Smoke and mirrors, pointless some say. Throw in a few dumb holograms that can walk and replicate the sounds of gunfire, and those who claim to be immune to mind games are pissing themselves before the fight even starts.
Favored Powers: An extended cloak for finding her favorite hiding place in the room, her cloak is a vital part of her. If things get too shifty and someone need to be removed from play, a healthy dose of foot-long, venom-drenched needles tend to do the trick.
Psychological Analysis
Traits:
- Flexibility: Garrus jokes aside, Sicari is something of a contortionist. She’s able to fit into some of the smallest vents that exist on Omega for extended periods of time, a useful skill in her line of work.
- Realist: She doesn’t mess around. What just happened did, in fact, just happen, and life demands that one keeps pushing forward. So push she shall.
- Eidetic Memory: She remembers literally everything from any time at any place. Careful what you do around her, this lets her hold a grudge for as long as she wants to hold it.
Flaws:
- Narcotic Addiction: Humans entered the galaxy, and with them, their drugs. She doesn’t fully understand it, but her kryptonite is cocaine. She often quotes the Hierarchy in a loose manner, saying “I can still do my job, and I can still do it better than you damn well ever could.”
- Alcoholic: Shove a good bottle of booze in front of her and she’ll reward you with either a few credits or, if you’re lucky and she’s already a little tipsy, a trip to the bedroom. Option B may result in blood loss among Asari and other soft-tissued races.
- Compulsive Liar: Even among the very few she trusts, she blatantly lies. She’s one of the maybe one-thousand Turians that can successfully lie and get away with it, and she’s proud of it.
Pysch Profile: A hardass in every sense of the word, Sicari can be calm and collected one minute, and ready to rob a man of his glory the next. She has a very gray outlook on life, believing that somewhere, everything can be considered legal under the right circumstances, and Omega is the perfect example. But it’s far from a Utopia, and she’s out to change that.
Backstory: Born and raised to a militaristic mother and an enigma of a father in the middle of an FTL jump in the Attican Tranverse, Sicari Velinian was thought to be born as an ideal soldier. She constantly moved with her mother’s fleet, being taught and trained in the traditional ways. She was doing algebra by age ten, basic trigonometry at age thirteen, and learning physics since she could first speak. She came out a smart girl, and an even smarter adversary.
Fast-forward to age sixteen, Sicari’s mother was pronounced MIA after a patrol ship she was on was raided by a small band of pirates, and KIA after the bodies from the squadron were recovered, the mother’s corpse among them. Sicari promptly made the decision to avenge the only family she had and left the fleet after they stopped at the Citadel, burning all her bridges in the process. She booked passage to Omega on a small transport owned by the Blue Suns, and made friends with one of the officers on the ship. She was offered a job as a drug distributor and readily accepted, leading to her cocaine addiction in the later years. She moved through the ranks quickly, proving herself as an assent time and time again, and was on good terms with much of the gang.
At 21, Sicari was seriously injured in a border dispute with the Eclipse, where she was kicked off the balcony of a high-end apartment and landed on top of a passing Krogan, who decidedly shrugged off the Turian that was just forcibly evicted by a biotic blast from three stories up, and carried her to the nearest medi-gel dispenser. She spent several days unconscious, and around thirty seconds dead, in Mordin Solus’ clinic. Upon her full recovery, she left the Blue Suns, but is still under their protection, for a fee. Given their history, it’s at least a reduced fee, 40% off the usual amount.
Soon enough, Sicari fell back into her old habits and started crawling around in vents, listening in to conversations and writing down what she hears. Like any information broker, she remains hidden with several operatives distributing the secrets and collecting payment. If payment isn’t received, it’s taken. It’s a cut and dry business, and Velinian prefers to remain out of the limelight. “Let the Shadow Broker have the enemies,” She’d tell a loyal client, “I’m content as long as I’m breathing and getting paid.”
Denouement
Character Motivation: She wants a galaxy where democracy rules, so her business of trading secrets and scandals always remains profitable. There’s no better scapegoat that a politician, and she’s well aware of it.
Significant Relations: Mother (Deceased)
Opinions on Others:
Awesome Theme Song: Something from Nothing, Foo Fighters
Other: She still speaks to her mother, faithful that the spirits take care of her.
