In the year 2019 we detected what we believed to be a large asteroid flying through our solar system, what was unique about this asteroid was it seemed to appear out of no where. We tracked it very closely watching its path as it was set to come very close to the Earth. It was long after we learned that it would harmlessly skim past Earth, that the asteroid exploded with unprecedented force. Two waves from the blast hit, the first wiped away a large portion of our magnetic field, the second was a blast of never before seen radiation that was able to make it to the surface because of the weakened magnetic field.

Geographically the world changed incredibly fast in a few short months. The blast that wiped the magnetic field was magnetic itself this caused the blast wave to pull at the minerals in the crusts of our planet, moving tectonics plates on the earth that faced the blast. It most directly effected the Pacific and Nazca Tectonic plates, throwing the Americas into waves of Seismic and Volcanic activity. As the tectonic plate pulled from the Americas leaving massive scar like canyons through the land, on the other side Japan, Papa New Guinea and New Zealand all grew larger as land was force upwards from the ocean floor. However most of these countries did not survive this cataclysmic transformation and neighboring countries took over. China was the one who capitalized most on the opportunity of the chaos. China took all those islands but New Zealand. But they did not do so with military might they did so by making deals with these countries in order to provide assistance to their country no literally in ruins. China also pressed their thumb down onto the USA's debt, the USA now being more of a China lapdog than a world superpower.

Beyond the geography, something else changed in the world. Believed to be due to the wave of alien radiation, people all over the world began to exhibit superhuman abilities and powers. Some chose to be heroes, some wanted to be villains. There were even those who chose to ignore their powers and live on normally. Upon the appearance of this surprise China began to collect superhumans from the armies of the countries it now controlled. In the end only three were chosen, they became the public icon of the growing Chinese empire. Expediting Justice in its territory, and eventually spreading to the world to wherever people needed help. They truly seemed to want to help, but the began to grow noticeably more violent and harsh in judgement. The world came to fear the names of Pulsar the Living Star, Everyman the shapeshifter, and Mother the woman connected with the power of the Earth.

It is now the year 2021 and the world is mostly operating normally yet now with the existence of the encroaching empire, as well as the new existence of superheroes and villains. You are a citizen with superpowers of your own, and one day you receive a summons to a location in the American Midwest, a cold state known as Wisconsin. They know your name and that you have a power, and likely against your better judgement you choose to go.

I don't think its so much that this thing is dead, but people just don't know what's expected of a CS. Usually, for rps like this, the applications don't pick up in numbers until people have gotten a chance to see what's accepted and what isn't. Again though, that's just me.

Name: Eden Merrick

Skills: Self taught street combat, Growing knowledge of physics, Can-Do attitude.
Powers: Gravity Manipulation
-Personal Gravity Control. Can manipulate personal gravity field allowing for; Hard to read midair maneuvers, difficult acrobatic feats, enhanced speed, bosltered strength, anchoring himself to the ground.
-Gravity Field Augmentation. Casts out a field around Eden in which Eden can either magnify or reverse gravity within its range. At 50ft, max range, he can only alter gravity by 0.1% negligible, but because all mass is effected by gravity he can sense people moving through this area. As the range shortens, the ability is given a stronger effect. At its limit he can get a burst of tripled gravity in either direction. This is mostly meant to help him to hinder his opponents or bolster himself in combat.
-Orbital Kinesis. He can cause other objects he makes contact with to orbit himself or another target. If orbiting himself he gains very precise control of speed and movement of the objects orbit. He can use this like a barrier that deters enemies. He can also throw these 'satelites' at his enemies.
Weaknesses: He is still physically a human. Susceptible to sickness, only as strong as a normal human.
He hasn't learned how to sustain his personal gravity shifting, so he has to use it in bursts. This also means no walking on walls or ceilings.
Using his orbit ability he can only lift something at a maximum of 300 pounds.
Biography: Eden had a rocky childhood, for starters his parents were both military. So they moved around a lot, which never allowed Eden to ever settle into a home or a life. At each school he went to, Eden was made into the outcast. Something about him just clearly spoke target to those around him. It was tough especially when he would see kids turn their backs rather than try and help him out. Eden learned to move past the bullies, he no longer cared what they said or did. They would never be the ones directing his life. So no matter what they said Eden still ran his show his life and it no longer mattered to him. After that Eden got through it all quite easily, and out of everything what he took to heart the most was the belief that he would never turn a blind eye towards a bully.

The situation in which Eden achieved his power was quite unimpressive. The explosion happened to happen while he was taking a nap that day, so while blissfully unaware he was being blasted by radiation and the world was going to hell around him. The only possible known correlation between his power and the situation in which he was granted it is that he fell out of his bed while being irradiated. After learning to control his abilities he moved into the nearest surviving city and he began to fight crime to do his best to help out the people around him.

Name: Jynmi Imsar
Age: 25
Gender: Male
6'4, 230 lbs. Athletic Build. Jynmi's skin is extremely pale. His hair is jet black. Each of his eyes are a different color. The right one is hazel and the left one is a bright blue grayish color.

Equipment:
Skills: Has studied logic and psychology. A capable detective

Powers: Gooey Form- Jynmi can transform his body into an extremely sticky black goo like substance.
Hard to Kill- In his goo form Jynmi cannot be damaged by physical means. Yes, it can be pulled a part, cut, smashed, etc, etc, but all the slimey bits can just reform as if nothing happened, and even if most of the mass is destroyed by other means(Fire, electricity) The Black pudding can just create more slime(but dead matter is needed, or some other source of carbon).
Shape shifting: The black pudding can change the shape and hardness of its body, but is limited to the amount of slime mass available to it at the time.
Linked Every single bit of the black pudding is linked together mentally so Jynmi can control pieces of himself even when its separated.

Weaknesses:
None physical attacks- Being Gooey doesn't do anything to protect Jynmi from none physical attacks like electricity and extreme temperatures. Poisons and toxins can effect him too, but it takes many times more than it would in human form.
Later on- Jynmi needs to make sure his mass is at least the same as it was before he transformed because his body will be damaged if he turns back to normal and there's not enough mass.
Link Limit- Yes Jynmi can control pieces of himself when their not together, but there's only so much his concentration can be focused before he looses control.

Biography: Jynmi grew up in a suburban area with two both parents and two siblings. He never really stood out and spent a lot of the earlier years of his life hidden somewhere in a corner with his face buried in a book. After graduating he took a part time job at a nearby mega retailer, and started going to school for his associates.

Jynmi didn't really like cleaning, but when you lived with your parents at the age of twenty five there wasn't much say in the matter. So he had to do it, and during one point in the cleaning in particular, he was wrist deep into some black sludge that used to be leaves, and insects at one point, the radiation hit.

Equipment: Harley Davidson motorcycle, zippo lighter, cigarettes. Usually carries a flask of something alcoholic on him as well most of the time.

Skills: Mechanic and metal fabricator. Builds custom cars and motorcycles and is a fair hand at some electrical work but by no means is he an electrician or electrical engineer.

Powers: >hard light projection

Can project light to create solid constructs of whatever he imagines. The more complex the construct the more power and focus is required. Can also surround himself in a protective aura of light but it isn't the best shielding ever. He has also been able to use the aura to fly by focusing on the idea of it lifting him into the air. He isn't incredibly fast though and it requires so much focus at present that he can't create any of his constructs and fly at the same time.

Weaknesses: His shielding, while imperfect, also has another weakness. It only works when he's focusing on it. So a sneak attack or one that happens faster than he can react will hit him full on. He is no stronger than any regular human of his physical condition. His powers don't afford him any physical enhancements. He's also useless at stealth. The use of his powers means he can be seen from quite a distance away.

Biography: Sean grew up in Southern California, obsessed with motorcycles and motorcycle culture. After graduating from high school he went to a trade school for motorcycle mechanics and while there fell in with a motorcycle club. It took him two years to patch in as a member and when he did he eventually moved up to sergeant at arms within his first year as a patched member.

The club was violent. Dangerous. And he loved it. Eventually, the clubs president and vice president were arrested in possession of cocaine and he decided that he needed to get out of the life before it destroyed him.

He got out by agreeing to let the club use his motorcycle shop as a meeting place for some of their more sensitive situations.

When the blasts hit he was in the middle of attaching the connections for a custom bike with more than a hundred feet of multi-colored LEDs wired through it. The blast of light tore through his body and tossed him through the wall of his shop. When he woke up he thought he was losing his mind when every random image he pictured suddenly appeared in front of him.

It took him a while to learn to control his new abilities, all the while the world was taking the freight elevator straight to he'll around him. Once he finally had a halfway decent handle on his abilities he went about his business, using his powers to assist him in keeping his own head above water and to occasionally help someone in need. He's been moving from place to place at random ever since.

So upon reading through your powers I noticed some striking similarities. Your are gonna have to change how you use you're ability if you want to use telekinesis.

Week the only way he uses it is as a shield, to mimic super strength and such, and to attempt flight which he hasn't perfected. What are the concerns about similarities?

Other options would be solid light projection, think green Lantern minus the ring and not as powerful. Limitations would be added.

What about pocket dimensions? He can create doorways to pocket dimensions. So he could theoretically have a shot gun in his pants pocket. As long as he has a frame to work with he can access the space. So a doorway, the opening of a backpack, etc. I could give you a list of items he has and how he acquired them and track what he uses. Also could add to it as we go in story.
